Called ahead due to needing a reservation. Was told there maybe outside seating but was told they were booked even though 2 tables sat empty outside for the 90 minutes were there. They brought us a flight tasting after 30 minutes of sitting that we requested. Then handed us 4 glasses and a card that spoke about the wine. No real interaction and once we figured what glass was for what and then we went to pay and they said sorry for being so swamped.1

Neat and clean. Outstanding grounds and picnic tables to sit and watch the view. Excellent handicapped access and parking. At least two picnic tables are accessible by wheelchair or walker, with many more depending on your mobility. Come up when you have 30 minutes to chill - you wont regret it.Wines are on the drier side, and available by the glass as well as bottle.

If I could leave a Zero Star, I would. We went here and was literally the worst customer service I have ever experienced at any establishment. We were a bit late to our reservation and were told they could not sit us because they had no room.First, are the reservations pointless?Second, after some push back on why we could not be seated for the remainder of our reservation (when there was obviously still room), we were told that we had obviously been to other vineyards and would be loud if they did seat us.TL;DR - Don’t go here, the service is atrocious, and they seem to be discriminatory.

This winery is way off the beaten path. So it took us longer than expected to arrive. We arrived about 15 minutes after our reservation. Reservations are for 1.5 hours. However, upon arrival, even with 2 confirmed reservations (one party of 3 and one of 4), we were turned away. After a plethora of excuses, including well you are obviously a group, management said they could not fit us in. They also told us they could not seat us because we had been to another winery and they thought we would be too loud. I’ve heard so many good things about this winery and the management of this winery showed that they are rude and unaccommodating. Will not return.

The wine is excellent and the staff are very knowledgeable, so you can learn a lot while you are tasting. The beautiful old house thats the tasting room and gift shop is comfortable and easy to get to. Theres a lovely picnic area to relax in and enjoy the views while enjoying the wine. I am a member, so I have perks such as free tastings and discounts on current wine offerings.

Tasting room in a beautiful old farmhouse has pleasant area to relax, local cheeses, salts, jams for sale and a nice cheese board to enjoy with tastings. A little wine walk through the vineyard (closed during harvest) for education and exercise (or kids). Plenty of room for our 25 foot -RV to park even on a busy day during harvest. Pinots are delish - other wines still works in progress IMO. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Was just here this past weekend and had a similar expirence as Colleen . Tons of wasps and the same rude employee basically stating move out of my way in the most rudest way possible. She was not polite and I could tell she was irritated by paying customers in her way! Based on this, I won’t be coming back and the wine I bought was OK . The only good thing about this place was the view !

We visited David Hill this past Sunday around 4:20 pm. When we pulled up, we noted that the house was very cute, both inside and out. The views were lovely. Sadly, thats where the enjoyment ended. We walked up to the counter and ordered our flight. There were about 4 - 5 young females and 1 older male working the wines. Our first taste was poured with only the name of the wine given. I stood there a moment then asked the girl if she could tell us about the wine. She quickly replied, no. I stood there shocked so she tried to come up with something but could only manage that it was a white wine grown from their property and its not her favorite. For the next wine I thought ok lets try this again and got the attention of a different worker hoping she would be able to offer us information regarding the wines. The girl stated the name of the wine, poured, and walked away. We were beyond shocked and thoroughly disappointed as this was our last stop after two wonderful days which included 14 fabulous winery visits throughout the Willamette Valley. Never have we ever encountered such lack of knowledge in all our wine travels. Not one worker gave any patron any knowledge of the land, the family, the vines, the vineyard, etc. It was only heres your wine enjoy. One group came in around 4:40 and purchased a flight then asked about a wine plate. The girl responded with, Theyre $16 but if you want one youll need to order it pretty quick because were closing at 5:00. Its this sad mindset that takes away from a place trying to offer wine education and create a wonderful experience and instead seems their sole interest lies in just making a buck and getting out of there.

I came here on 8/18 because my friend said it was good. The place was cute, however, there were lots of wasps. The reason I gave this place one star was because of the service. The older blonde server (who was wearing a blue tencel dress) was rude. Our group was standing near the counter waiting to pay. She passed by and made a comment with an attitude something along the line that we shouldnt block the way. The friend that brought us along with my other friends were shocked. Well, excuse us lady. First of all, there was no reason for you to give that kind of attitude to your customers and secondly, you shouldve excuse yourself for passing by. I did not have a good impression with the service the other employees provided either. I felt like the employees were not friendly and seemed like they did not want to be there. I would give the wine 3.5 stars. I bought 3 bottles (rose, farmhouse, muscato port.) I took a sip from each and did not bring any home. Honestly, Ive had better. I came here with an intention to join the wine club since my friend has been talking about it forever, but sorry that wont happen after the experience.

We became members of David Hill Winery because we were new in the area and were looking for social spots of interest. The wine tasting room is rustic country cozy fun. The wine its self is good for Pinot Noir lovers. I am more of a Cab/Merlot person so I wasnt overly impressed. After 2 years we finally were able to join a wine pick up party! Live music, finger foods and wine tasting was advertised. Free to members and $15 for each guest. We arrived 10 minutes after the start up time and there was NO parking. We parked on the side of the road and got muddy in the dark. There was no one explaining the process to visitors so there was very large groups of people standing around not sure where to go and what to do. The finger foods was one single 1 inch piece of fried bacon. The wine tasting was 2 servers and a line that went well out the building. It was a terrible layout, bad service, no where near the value of the dollar price paid. After this event we cancelled our membership. We will not be returning. Really let down.

I love this winery. Its a beautiful place to visit, taste, and even picnic when the weather permits. They graciously donated a group tasting to my schools fundraising auction and when we brought our group there (with reservations ahead of time) they treated us like royalty. Even brought an extra table into the tasting room and let us picnic inside because it was raining. Super nice people and wonderful wine. Cant recommend David Hill enough!! Extra thanks to Michele, the Tasting Room Manager, for being so kind and professional.P.S. Everything was nice, but we loved the Estate Pinot Noir and the Chardonnay on our most recent visit.

Tasting estate wines in a beautiful setting, aided by a friendly and knowledgeable staff, makes for a perfect outing any time of year. Because all of the original grapevines were removed during Prohibition, it wasnt until 1965 that Oregon wine pioneer Charles Coury planted what are now the oldest vines on the estate from Alsace and Bergundy root stock. Coury also planted an assortment of Gewürztraminer, Sylvaner, Semillon, Pinot Blanc, and Riesling.
