Excellent park for families! Even with an insanely rambunctious toddler, we didnt have to all stick together and argue about holding hands every 5 seconds. Its nice and open on the trails making it easier to share the road. We enjoyed our little walk so much! The little side missions are fantastic too.

I’m so happy I marked Buffalo Park on my Flagstaff list of places to visit. The Flagstaff Park Easy to find and leads you into the great outdoors that Flagstaff has to offer. Deer roam free and all types of wildlife enjoy Buffalo Park as their peaceful home. No reason not to visit as you explorer Flagstaff Arizona. Easy hike for kids and seniors so everyone is welcome. Make sure to stop by the map to take the right trail there are many options to take. Enjoy the walk!

Likely one of the busiest trailheads in Flagstaff, but if you know what trails to take out of the Park, becomes a completely different experience. Always some parking, even at the busiest times. Great views of Elden and the Peaks without having to go too far or a gateway to the network of trails around the Peaks, depending on what youre looking for.

My husband and I are in Flagstaff with a group of neighbors. This park was recommended by the hotel staff where we are staying and I am so glad they did. We all thought the park was beautiful and we actually walked around it quite a bit. Further inside the park it smells great. The kids had lots of fun, too. Would definitely recommend, especially during sunset.

The walking trail, good for all ages (2 miles), is well maintained and is an easy walk. Alot of locals use it as a running trail, walking their dogs(on leash) and their is designated exercise spots right off the trail to,( jump over a 4 ft wall, climb ropes, climb a vertical ladder, etc.....), so a little bit extra than just running or walking if your up to that.Depending on how far you want to walk. If you walk the trail out of Buffalo Park and into US Forest Service land then it can be as long of a hike as you make it. So, if your doing that trail, then I would recommend water and whatever else you would need to take. One of the photos I took shows the trail lengths.

We LOVED this park! It will be a regular stop for us when we come up to Flagstaff from now on. Wide paths, beautiful trees, gorgeous views of the mountains. What more could you ask for! Great place for families. Our girls are small (4, 2, and 7months). They all did great.

The buffalo are surprisingly hospitable. You dont even NOTICE them for the longest time!! When they appear, youre still not sure theyre real...You begin to stroke their majestic manes, and only THEN do you realize that a drunk homeless man was just enjoying Halloween.

A nice place to get away in the heart of Flagstaff. Buffalo Park has a nice 2 mile unpaved circular walking/running/biking path with great views of the San Francisco peaks and My. Elden. Its also away from the noise and lights of Flagstaff so its ideal for a quiet afternoon jog or evening star gazing (it closes at 10pm, 12am on the weekends).

Visited Buffalo park in mid June and it was a very nice hike. We got there around 10:00am and there were cross country teams from all over the US practicing. It is one of the best locations to train at over 7000 feet and smooth trails to run for miles. Very neat to see these athletes take on the altitude and see how there bodies react.

We went looking for a nice place to just walk after hiking almost 30 miles over the past week. This place is awesome! There is a 2 mile volcano cinder loop trail that is easy for people of all ages. The Arizona hiking trail passes thorough the park which is neat. I believe you can access the Flagstaff Urban trail system from this park. You can bike there as well. They have several exercise stations along the trail for those who wish to enhance their workout. The views of the San Francisco Peaks and forest were amazing. We even saw some mule deer chilling out under some trees. This place was just what I was looking for!!!

Buffalo Park is a beautifully maintained park just north of downtown Flagstaff. The park offers unmatched views of Mount Elden and seems to be detached from all neighboring civilization. If you are a lover an animals, you may be rewarded with sightings of deer grazing in groups. This park is dog friendly and is complete with a few trail options that predominately cover level ground so theres no need to break out any adept level hiking gear. The only cost for entry is your commitment to keep the park clean and respect the grounds as if they were your own. Enjoy.

This is my new favorite park. Didnt know it existed until few months ago. I totally want to come here for jogs, bike rides and walks. Beautiful area just dont come if theres lightning. Became super scary for us at one visit we didnt think about how lightning more than likely would strike the mountain and yea...... only negative about this place is the bathrooms. Dislike having to use a port-o-potty at a park and that its all the way in the front only. Know before you go! lol
