Love this place. Well run. The owner has been a big proponent of soccer in Madison over the years. They hire staff that love and respect the game and work hard to create a safe and fun environment for players. I love 40+ Sunday morning pick up and play twice a week in the leagues in the winter. My daughter plays here too. Great way to get some exercise in the winter.
Great facility for soccer. Referees are pretty consistent in their calls and many have been with the facility for many years. Many options for leagues and classes. Prices are competitive with other local facilities but by mid winter it does get expensive.
I really dont know why anyone in these reviews has mentioned good refs. Hard to believe they have ever taken real officiating classes or even are licensed. If anyone falls down, they get the call, even if they were being reckless. And thats supposedly to prevent injury. And Gavin ref will tell you to shut your mouth the first time you ask for clarification on a call. Nothing about the way they officiate even remotely resembles legitimate soccer rules. Ive played competitive soccer for 15 years and Im at a loss with some of the calls these guys make. I do agree with the reviews about bias though - I get carded all the time when people slide tackle me from behind and I trip over them. Ive actually had people push me over with fully extended arms, without me even touching the other player, but they card both of us. Most people that play here just put up with the BS because they either dont know any better or because theres no other facility nearby besides Keva out in Middleton. I would be ashamed to work at Break Away. Someday I think Ill go to a game here and just flop and fall down the whole game for fun. If you fall you get the call no matter what happened. And its hilarious when the refs try to make up a technical reasoning for the call on the spot.
Nice place to watch my kidss games.
Infinite Athlete Chiropractic- Dr. Libby is awesome.
I love the sport. Refs are nice. Turf is really dirty but getting new. Place is getting old. Small are to have a beer.
Friendly and appreciative staff, and good refs! All about having fun and working out in the adult leagues. After the game, ran into opponents at Funks Pub down the street, they bought us a pitcher and my team got them cheese curds. This is the spirit Breakaway Fosters. The refs are good, friendly and respectful when explaining rules and never get angry or frustrated with players. The leagues (A, B C) actually matter, unlike some other places. Also, on hidden fees on anything, the price listed is what it is so its reasonable to play. Overall, great experience.
Gave it 2 stars because of the facility. Other than that, I would agree with a past review that feedback/comments are not taken seriously or very graciously. The manager is rude and defensive and when I called him on it he told me to, settle down, dude. Hardly a professional response. I tried calling when I got home to smooth the waters and was met with the same attitude as before. Would not back down and seemed to have forgot how our previous conversation went. Its a shame that a simple interaction was handled so poorly and left me with a negative opinion of this place. A bit of humility could have gone a long way in this situation.
Good fields with fun soccer.
Awesome staff! Kids love the new turf
Great staff and facilities — fun place to bring an indoor team ️
Been playing here for 4 years and have mostly enjoyed playing here until recently. One of the managers has entirely changed my opinion of Breakaway as he has been unnecessarily rude to my team for no apparent reason. He scolded a group of adults before one of our games and treated us as though we were teenagers trespassing on his property rather than grown adults and customers who pay a lot of money to use this facility. Not happy with this individuals customer service approach and it has affected my opinion of the entire business. I would recommend playing at Keva Sports Center instead.
Over price on their pop corn soda just about everything
Best ever indoor sports center near my apartment.
Breakaway has nice turf and fun late night ultimate Frisbee during the winter. Fields are a bit small but overall, nice, clean, and friendly staff.
The best soccer facility and management in Madison area...
Modern looking and a great staff. Ownership is visible and highly active. Very comfortable environment.
Very well run indoor soccer games in nice fields.
Great place for indoor soccer! Has chairs and tables to sit at in upper balcony to watch games. Concession stand also.
Good service and good facilities for both players and anyone watching.
Futball venue....enough said!
Great setup. Many options for chiropractic needs, sport issues, and more. Talented and knowledgeable.
Nice facility, reasonable prices for league play. My team was given a talk when we joined about how their main goal is safety and fun. I totally believe it, every game was called really tightly, I would say too tightly. People always ended up getting frustrated and just taking cheap shots since they were going to get called anyway.
Good new turf, great staff, good refs.
Very good instruction for kids and two fields available with limited food options on-site.
Nice place for indoor soccer, all genders, from kids to adults. You need a place like this if you gonna be in Wisconsin where Winter is ROUGH even for locals and I am not ;)
Quality fields, quality staff, quality soccer. Cant ask for much more than that
This place is great and the staff are very friendly and helpful!!
I have played both here and at Keva. I prefer Breakaway because I feel that they are more concerned with the safety of the players. Ive been playing here for the past 7 years, its great. They do a good job at matching teams to opponents of their ability from session to session.
Its really fun.
Great indoor soccer facility. The fields are in good condition and the staff are all friendly and helpful.
Two indoor soccer fields. Recently replacement turf, soft small rubber pellets. Dont inhale one though....
Friendly atmosphere and great staff! Perfect for all playing levels and ages.
Great indoor facility for watching grandkids play soccer.
Staff is helpful and polite. Love the indoor leagues for kids!!
Clean facility and newly renovated. Referees are completely bias and extremely unprofessional. If you want a fairly refereed game I strongly suggest you play at KEVA in Middleton.
Convenient location for me. Two good indoor fields.
Great place for indoor. turf is nice, refs are solid, matchups are fair
Many hours here watching the kids play soccer. Nice place.
Well run leagues and good referees. Competitive leagues and casual rec leagues
DO NOT PLAY AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT! Referres are biased and unprofessional. Management does not take comments/feedback seriously. Very unprofessional. They need to train their referee staff how to professionally officiate a game without bias and make the apporpriate calls.Breakaway should also consider the level of play of teams. They tend to pair casual/rec teams with more skilled/aggressive teams. This accounts for a lot of injurues.
Keva is much better
Cool spot! Like watching my wife play soccer!
The staff is very friendly, passionate about soccer and great with kids!
Casual Sunday winter soccer league is friendly and fun.
Fields are in good shape and the leagues are well managed.
Two great (new) indoor fields for play. My main complaint is that the league referees are inconsistent in how the cover games, some are overly loose with the rules while others are overly heavy handed.
Great place for indoor soccer.
Great indoor field
Been playing at Breakaway for 7 years. Its a good facility and the staff are good people.
Been playing indoor soccer here for over a decade. Not much else besides soccer, but that lets them focus on it well.
Great indoor facility
Nice indoor facility
It ok
Great place for soccer
Customer service is the best
Good turf
Family owned, refs call a tight game
Nice place, well maintained.
