Farmington pond is a great out of the way place to picnic where a family can stop on the way up or coming back from the canyon. We had stopped at McDonalds on the way home from Farmington Station. We were hot and tired but after eating at an open picnic table in the shade were able to relax and cool down before heading on to our home in Millcreek. A family there was able to use floats and swim around in the pond. I wish we had swimsuits and I would have joined them. The clean public restroom facilities provide a good place to change. When you get to the Chevron station on main street as for directions to the adjacent street that goes to the canyon. Go north until the fork in the road. Stay left at the fork. Then you can go down and round to the park and pond. Farmington natives like myself are usually courteous and talkative about the place. Its a little slice of heaven away from the cities.
Its a pretty small pond with a dock, public restrooms, picnic tables and a fire ring. But people were enjoying bringing their own kayak, canoes, paddle boards and floats. There were people swimming even though it said beware of E. Coli. My kids loved the ducks and geese. Its a nice shady spot in the evening up on the grass and the water was super flat. Im sure well be back, especially since its so convenient to the highway.
Nice place to go fishing that is close by. There is a lot of bank to fish from, which kaysville pond has Im short supply. Add in the fact Ive caught multiple fish almost every time Ive gone. Park seems nice enough, but only have gone there for fishing.
The trail to the pond was a lot of fun! Our chihuahua made a few friends and we enjoyed a nice morning together. Our dog hurt his back, and subsequently has to enjoy most walks in a stroller. The trail was perfect! We saw several families, and everyone was kind. The walk was easy and shady, but the cotton was flying, so its a little rough on allergies.
Went here with my girlfriend and our four children. There was quite a bit of people there, both adults and children alike, and a whole lot of toys that people brought themselves- paddle boards, kyacks, etc. Everyone seemed to be very mindful of one another and keep distance, since we are supposed to be social distancing. Yes, being in the midst of a pandemic, I found this to be a wonderful place to go and get outside. The water was a really nice temperature and the beach isnt completely covered in rocks, but instead is a really good mix, so its pretty easy on bare feet. =]
What a great spot in the area. My son loves coming here to kayak. Tables can be hard to come by at busy times as can parking (close by)... so bring a blanket for a picnic or some folding chairs. Drop everything off and then use the upper parking lot and walk back down if parking is full. Awesome spot for an evening family adventure.
This is a nice pond. My boy and I went fishing here. It was quiet and peaceful, and we were able to find a little secluded spot surrounded by trees and away from all the other pond dwellers. Couldn’t give it 5 because we didn’t catch a fish. However it’s probably not the ponds fault. I am famously not good at fishing.
Nice little pond to go paddling/ swimming around in. Busy, but not quite overcrowded. Good for families with young kids who want to go fishing, swimming or paddling. Nice little grassy areas and some picnic tables to hang out and have a picnic.
I have only used the parking lot to ride a bicycle up Farmington canyon, and it suited the purpose well. I could not find restrooms nor water. Plenty of parking.
Fishing was slow but nonetheless it is very peaceful and clean.
Fun for the kids. Even caught a couple fish.
This pond was beautiful and quiet, we really enjoyed it. Going back tomorrow and will have pictures
So fun to visit! Lots of fun little hikes around here to go on! Have fun finding the big foot statue!
Very nice place to swim and fish. Beautiful place. Even in the winter it is frozen solid and good for ice fishing. But also it has very narrow roads getting in and out.
I love how far up the river you can go on hidden pathways. Lots of shade and sitting rocks along the bank. its very clean.
Too many people fishing all over the pond. Trying to not get tangled in their lines was more work than enjoyable.Would be better if fishermen were set in a particular area.
Extremely crowded on weekends. After looking at the water, its not anywhere Id like to swim. Kayak maybe, and hope I dont tip over. But its free, so youve got to give it points for that.
Great place to go relax and have lunch or enjoy a minute fishing. Take kayaks, canoes, paddle boards. Bathrooms and fish cleaning facilities available.
In the early 1960s my brother and i as kids used to go fishing at the pond every chance we got during summer vacation from school. We would go catch grasshoppers in the morning to use as bait from the mountain just east of the pond and usually had our limits by the end of the day. The fish were trout, good eating.
It is a little pond. It has few tables, ducks and you can fish If you have a licence. There are flush bathroom.
This place is lovely depending on the time of year. Spring is probably the best to see the water flow. The only downside is how crowded it can get.
I found the trail easy enough, but wasnt allowed to park there, so the gps took me here to find a parking lot where my van wouldnt be towed away while I enjoyed the walk!
Decent short trail, pleasant pond with a dirt and rock beach.
Nice pond to have picnic and see kids play with paddle boards.
Its easy to get to and beautiful scenery
Great trails all around the pond and canyon. Quite packed though.
Beach is ok. Could use another picnic table. No water is running into it at all mid June
This place was a fantastic backdrop for family photos! Its a nice, quiet little pond. Theres a dock for fishing and enough open shore and banks that you can make yourself comfortable and get just a little bit of open privacy. Absolutely beautiful location and very well maintained.
This is a place we frequent as a fam. Has some great fishing(catfish and trout mainly) and also some fun hiking trails close by. I know there are covered pavilions and bathrooms down by the pond and also a dock to go fishing off of. Be careful with the spring runoff...the inlet has some crazy waterflow right now that feeds the pond....i wouldnt try crossing it currently.
Nice place, clean picnic areas, friendly ducks
A good place to ask your Girlfriend to marry you!
Lovely spot to sit and enjoy a little nature in the city.
Very pretty pond and clean area! We hiked there from the Farmington Creek Trail and it was a great, easy hike
Enjoyable hike and great scenery. Good parking.
Restful, beatiful, confortable, wonderful and quiet place
Rather small for its popularity.
The actual pond alone is a solid three star location. Nice, well maintained but nothing amazing. I gave it four stars for the excellent and well shaded trail the passes through it. This a great place for a walk or run.
A little gem of a place, but people need to learn to clean up their garbage.
Walked there with a daughter and watched the ducks. Very beautiful pond with plenty of seating and well-kept landscapes.
Fun and beautiful place to fish and enjoy the ducks.
Beautiful - I found Narnia
Its crowded! But over all the family had fun
Great little family friendly pond! Couldnt ask for anything better!
Tried to go fishing with young nephew, too many swimmers and water play.
Its a pond! And its in Farmington!
Fun place to fish, I have been going here since I was a little boy and always enjoy my time here. It can get crowded at times so make sure you get a good spot. Fishing is good around the months they stock the lake. I tend to catch a lot more fish near where the stream runs into the lake.
Dead fish floating around, not knowing why they ware dead its kinda weird specially when kids are swimming around in that pond.
My friend and I went here to take pictures and we thought we could go around the pond. Wasnt possible it was flooded on both ends. Not much to see except the pond and ducks. Its great for a family picnic but we were looking for more wildlife( birds) and more of a walk. Mantua lake up north of Brigham City is ideal for that but not Farmington pond.
Its a beautiful pond but no fish to catch. Only come here if you want to hike. Its a great hiking spot.
It was nice fishing
Fishing is ok but that’s the old nice thing there.
Great walk. Fishing is ok but the walk is better
Quite and peaceful.
Pretty place for a walk. Not sure I would go swimming here though. The algae was thick and mossy.
I dont like fishing here, Im using all the good strategies but not enough fish. And I come here a lot... fun either way though, please stock.
Beautiful little pond area
Great place to hike, run, or fish! There are ducks to watch and the scenery next to the mountain is gorgeous! Weve taken kayaks a few times as well! Parking is limited, so all the reason to bike, walk, or run to the park!
Little. Dirty run off water. But looks like a free wet water hole to play in for anybody around. Bathrooms available. No tables by the water in case you plan to picnic. Steep little trail to the water or about 2 flights worth of steps, so not the easiest access. Not the easiest to find from google maps. Easy to miss the turn and end up at the trail head instead.
This place is wonderful all year round. You can easily access it from old Farmingtons many trails or you can drive right up to it. We come here often after a hike to let the dog jump in and cool off in the spring when the water is flowing.
It was a fun fishing trip, but we didnt catch anything. When we got there, it was packed on the dock side of the pond, so drove to the other side. Great place to go to enjoy the scenery.
This is a great place for fishing nice and relaxing
Its fun!
Fishing wasnt great lots of rude people
Found the Wipers!!!!! Caught tons in an hour of Fishing!
Nice place, close to home
Lots of shade and places to fish, swim, kayak, ect. Pretty spot to take pictures and relax. Pond could be better stocked on fish since its so popular. Clean place. Lots of annoyances for fisherman such as people (who dgaf about where your fishing) and ducks.
I go run on the trails around Farmington Pond
Beautiful place to hangout, fish or swim!
Fun place to catch fish. Its pretty all around.
Good place to catch some blue gills
Farmington pond is a great place to have a picnic or start a jog! We like to ride bikes from here to lagoon! Its a pretty tough return trip for us - but were not in the best of shape! Theres a nice grassy area with a couple picnic tables and a fire pit (though no fires are allowed during summer months).
Overall clean and nice little park and pond. Only downside is there was quite a bit of vandalism on the dock where a lot of people have defaced some of the planking to carve their intials or undying love.
What can I say any out door places I enjoy
This was a fun little area to hike around. We visited the pond and then went up the trail. It doesnt really lead anywhere that I could figure out but it was fun to wander around for about 40 mins. I can see it getting EXTREMELY hot during the summer months and there is close to 0 shade out there.
Had to cut off fishing line off one of the ducks. Try and take home your used fishing line or throw it in the dumpster on-site so the wildlife does not get harmed by the excess line.
Beautiful pond with a nice dock. In the summer there are ducks and fish!
This is my fourth time cameing here to fish i all way catch & release the problem is i just wish that the paddle boarders would respect the space of the fisher or fishers & people having there dogs jumping in & of the water right next to you while your fishing. But i love the pond .
Stocked regularly with easily catchable fish, this pond is a hidden gem Im Farmington.
The pond is always really clean and offers great hiking trails. The little pier is a great place to sit and relax. The trout fishing is good a few days after they stock it. Make sure to get there early in the morning if you want to fish so that you can avoid swimmers.
This is a really convenient pond for Historical Farmington residents. Usually very clean, even though it is frequently visited. The geese can be mean. One bit my wife on the leg.
Love Farmington pond you just have to look out for the A$$+9)3 ducks.
Very clean. Quite
Few years back would have given 5 stars..just to many rules now not real relaxing anymore
Excellent place for laid back fishing
Fun place to fish and jumping off the dock is a great way to cool off in the summer heat.
Fish are scarce.
I love the ducks. Very clean. Ducklings are adorable.
Love this pond. So much fun stuff to do here year round
