This place is always a go to of mine. The mood is always changing depending on the day, with different bands and events that happen on the regular. Not only is Dempseys a great place to have a drink, but they also offer up some good food. There menu may be limited, but what they do have is sure to hit the spot. They have daily drink and food specials, so be sure to check it out. One of my favorites is dollar taco night on Wednesdays accompanied by free bingo.

Average bar. Good music. I cannot for the life of me understand why this constitutes an Irish pub though. Yeah, they have Guinness. But pizza and quesadillas on the menu is basically Ireland, right?

A good old fashioned Irish pub. Drinks are decently priced and top notch bar food. Music is always lively and will get you on your feet. Pool and foosball down the stairs with gambling to the left. Come on in and have a sit down in the very ample seating of tables and oversized booths. Dempseys....a place for friends.

Absolutely the best bar in Downtown Fargo. Live music, good specials- i.e. free hot dog day with a drink purchase, free drink raffles, bingo, karaoke, open Mic night, awesome music venue upstairs with great local acts and from out of town, great knowledgeable bar staff, polite door guys. Its a good time. Free Thanksgiving dinner was also amazing.. they put out A LOT of free food on Thanksgiving, and it was all really good.

A really great Fargo bar with a local feel. Its the kind of place where you can expect to see at least one person you know there almost every time you go. They have some good live music performances, but it can get pretty busy those nights. A nice spot that we are lucky to have downtown.

One of the better bars to hit up with friends, normally a fun crowd on a Friday night. Their is live music on occasion which can be a lot of fun. They serve a good selection of beer and hard liquor. The food is also pretty good if you need a snack.

A great spot for casual drinks with friends in Downtown Fargo. Low lighting, big booths, good drinks, and they have open mic nights, karaoke nights, and live bands play weekly.

With an inviting dimly lit atmosphere, there are several aspects that make Dempseys so inviting. With a linear-esq layout, they have a stage where live bands play at the end. The audience that shows to these bands also tends to be quite lively.Early in the night when their kitchen is still open, they also have great pub like food that goes well with their drinks.Another aspect of the layout that I like is that there is a room area separate from the main part of the bar where one can play blackjack and pool. It sections that group of people out from the rest so that one can choose to be either social and just want to converse or engage in more activities.

The large strawberryblonde guy running the blackjack table was extremely rude for literally 0 reason. It was obvious I didnt know what I was doing and the first thing he did was mock me. Made it a point to try and humiliate me. Then was rude to my 2 friends who sat down at the table also. No reason to go to this place with Rooters right down the street. They said no to a friend wanting to play Pig Wheel because it wouldnt be worth it for them because they wouldnt get enough tips. Just a crummy little place that may have had some kind of hole in the wall charm but if thats how they treat people, you can get a better atmosphere, and better service with same priced drinks right down the street.

This is a really good place for having a drink, playing games like bingo/trivia, or listening to a band play. I wouldnt come here just to eat cause its just okay appetizer foods. Overall if you want a bar with a good atmosphere, this is a good place for that.

Irish pub it aint, but a good facsimile of one for Fargo. Lively, good music and pleasant venue smack in middle of Fargos resurgent downtown.

Fast service and strong drinks!

I go to this bar several times every week, and the staff are so incredible. There are tons of fun things to do all week, and there’s always great live bands on the weekends. It’s a come-as-you-are bar, with a great atmosphere.

The bartenders do a great job of making rounds to the patrons. The drinks always seem to be on point and they make great recommendations. You can get live music there or go upstairs to the Aquarium for a featured band. They have awesome pizza. Definitely try some if you want something that doesnt taste like a frozen pizza.

One time I was cut off before I was even drinking, because they thought I spilled a drink. It was odd and it hurt my feelings. :( All I wanted was a beer. #IDeserveJustice

I was in last Wednesday-$1 taco night. Sat down at the bar to order my to go tacos and a drink. The bar was not that crowded but it took the bartender 5 minutes to come down and take my order. In the meantime standing next to me was one of the waitresses eating nachos. I got my tacos quickly and they were good as always. The waitress and the bartender basically ignored me and were not friendly.

Dempseys was a fun place to have a drink but if you want a quieter spot this is not your place. Live music brings everyone down there on Saturday nights! Service was excellent! There is also late night snacks from thier kitchen if you feel the need!

Nice place late at night its difficult to get a drink, hence the one star subtraction for lack luster service, but it is busy late at night too. I would suggest getting their early if you are going to watch a live show or want to sit

Its usually pretty busy, but Dempseys is one of my favorite bars downtown. It has the feel of a classic Irish pub. There is usually live music which is a nice addition. The bartenders are friendly and the drinks are always good! They have popcorn available, and a poker table if you want to play. Definitely a great stop on a night out.

Best beer cheese soup.... Update... They took the beer cheese soup away... Sad day..But still got love for the Dempseys.... But bring back the soup!! Please!

Love this place, working at a bar downtown myself we all get around to knowing each other here and the place seems more comfortable and casual than most places. However the acoustics can be awful sometimes. I dont know what it is about it, its just off.

Went for the St. Patricks Day parade, say by the front window to watch the parade and had a great time. Beyond the standard green beer, we ordered the Irish meal of corned beef brisket and vegetables. The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender and delicious!

Great specials and service. $1 tacos on Wednesdays. There is trivia on Fridays at 6. Check to see if there is a show going on at the music venue upstairs (The Aquarium), lots of good local and touring bands play there.

Definitely a very popular bar in Fargo. Full bar. They have a pretty good beer selection, to include some decent craft beers. They also have Black Jack, Pig Wheele, and Pull Tabs. They frequently have live music. They have food, but Ive never eaten there.

The pizza is really good.
