Food was DELICIOUS!! Salmon was cooked perfectly and wasnt too fishy. The crab cake was superb with minimal herbs/spices so you could enjoy the flavors, also perfectly cooked. Bottomless mimosas was great, although it did take a while to get refills. The jalapeños were spicy so the flavors plus the kick of spice were like a party in your mouth. Prices are cheap for the taste, for sure. On my list to come back.

People appear to be rating Pala Mesa Resort too highly and without merit. Stayed one night earlier this month, selected the stay and dine midweek package. The restaurant food was good. I was incorrectly charged for my stay, and I had no idea of the mistake, but was only informed of the correction and additional charges after they had already charged my card. I would not have had an issue with the charge adjustment if I would have been informed beforehand and if I would have enjoyed my stay. The room absolutely showed its age, fortunately they are remodeling other rooms. A musty odor greets you as you enter the room. Probably one of the worst beds Ive slept on, and I travel nearly every week for work. Pillows were not comfortable, flat, and stiff. Its a nice location, although you can definitely hear the highway noise in the distance. Hope the renovations being undertaken help to address some of my poor experiences.
We were given the Pala Mesa Aqua Terra Mothers Day pick-up curbside brunch as a gift. It was right on time, delicious and had lots of food. My grown kids ordered it from out of town and the manager, Thomas Martin, could not have been nicer or more professional. The brunch order also had a beautiful floral bouquet that my family ordered to make it extra special. Finally, the chef came out to the car to thank and greet us! Five stars for Pala Mesa Resort :)
Didnt end up staying. We walked in the room and it was musty smelling, sat on the bed and it felt as though we sank to the floor. Customer service was good, didnt hassle when we requested to cancel our stay.
The property and room were very nice but the bed was very springy. I just prefer firm beds. Toilets were underpowered and lever needed to be held down to get a complete flush. But the property is very well taken care of. There was a car show with some amazing cars Sunday morning. We were there for a wedding and that was fantastically put together. The staff was all super friendly. My wife and I had a great time.

Overall good experience. The course is usually kept in great shape. One or two tight holes but not overly long. A number of the greens have significant slopes that are challenging. One of my favorites in the area. The resort has a well kept bar and restaurant.
We love Pala and should be much better once construction is completed right now not so nice . Also cause current Corvus 19 situation. Golf is away are good test course in decent shape. Can wait for completion plan another trip soon
First time playing. A lot of narrow fairways w/sand traps in the landing zone. Greens are also protected by sand. Challenging but fun. Pace of play was great

An OK golf course, friendly environment, great staffs and good people around. Course design doesn’t have much to remember, fairway and green Condiction were good. A game after spending sometime in Pala casino was really a wonderful vacation.
Hard to believe no air conditioning in our room. Well, there was a fan on the wall, but it was just kicking out room temp air. Dated buildings, you could tell they’ been there for a while. Nice course though.

Pool was DIRTY. The room we had looked outdated as far as the furniture. Patio had all kinds of cob webs. On the outside it is nice I must say.
The golf course is in rough condition. Greens are patchy. Tee boxes are uneven. The fairways are pretty bad as well. Not worth the drive or money. Much better courses around

Rooms are definitely not resort quality. Furniture is old, scratched and smells funny. Front desk staff are by far the most dull people Ive seen at check in. Restaurant people were very friendly (maybe because they rely on tips) which is totally fine. My friend stayed at Econolodge, I went to pick her up and waited in the lobby. The front desk offered me coffee and I almost fell off my chair because when i went to ask the front desk for coffee pods for my room (my husband and I had a cup coffee in our room when we checked in the night before) the front desk told me that they didnt have extras and I needed to wait for housekeeping and everyone arrived around 9am or I could buy coffee from the bar. I ended up buying a small coffee for $4.95 I thought it was rude or weird because other non-resort places usually have complimentary coffee for their guest in the lobby. This place is not worth the price.
The rooms are old and badly in need of renovation. For this reason alone the room was grossly overpriced. I checked out from my three day stay after only one day. I had also been placed in a room completely surrounded by a wedding party that were still banging and screaming at 2am (my in room phone didnt work, to call and complain) which is very poor service/planning. The staff, from the beginning of the stay, were rude and/or disinterested. Not even an apology for the horrible night I had experienced. Additionally, I left a charger at the hotel in my rush to leave after the first night and got so much attitude trying see if it had been located by housekeeping that Im going to just replace it. The restaurant is ok, not great, but adequate and I cant speak to the golf facilities, but please do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to stay!

Employees have a lack of empathy and could care less about your comfort or your stay at the location. We had no hot water in our shower. My husband has multiple spider bites on his body. The safety lock on our door was busted and haphazardly put back on the molding. The shower/tub had been refinished and the refinish was pealing off and shards of the refinish were in the bathtub that we had to clean so they wouldnt cut our feet. When maintenance came to look at the shower they tracked mud into the room and bathroom and didnt clean it up. We spoke to the front desk in person and from the room and they wouldnt even entertain the idea of a refund and couldnt move us to a different room either. So our advise is to stay as far away as possible from this hotel. Motel 6 would be a much better choice than the Pala Mesa Resort.
Old rooms with an old smell to them. The grounds are not kept up well and the pool and playground was riddled with cob webs and brush.
The TV was a tube TV probably 20 years old. The bathroom had wallpaper coming off, broken tile and the tub was chipping. Carpet was very old. For $200.00 a night I expected more. The grounds were very beautiful. The area was nice. Dog friendly was great. The maintenance staff was nice. If they updated the rooms it will be an excellent place to stay.
Golf course is well kept. Would give 5 stars if they didnt shutdown the cafe for food and drinks before we finished the front 9. Should remain open until at least until the last group finishes the front.
The landscape is very nice and having a golf course surrounding the units makes for attractive stay. The units are being slowly renovated however it is taking far too long. Water damage affecting woodwork. Woodpeckers woke us up every morning during our stay.
Pala Mesa has always been a favorite due to proximity, ease to get there, and the golf course. Aquaterra Restaurant & Bar has good Food, servers are wonderful. The guests room on the other hand: paint was peeling off the bathroom door, nothing as far as utensils or plates stocked in the built-in front bar, mini- fridge is actually only a mini-cooler, bed was hard and you can feel the springs, thinnest, worn out pillows I have ever found in a hospitality location. So much potential in a lovely setting, well-kept grounds. We will be back because of the setting, but will bring everything. You need to treat it as a semi-timeshare without the basics.

It is a charming, beautiful, resort. Its in a quiet part of town. I was working with a wedding party. We used the room that the venue set aside for brides, or guests to get ready in. It was clean and comfortable. It had fairly nice furniture, and was well decorated. It had two very well lit vanities with comfortable chairs, plenty of shelves to put cosmetics, etc., and the bathroom was clean, nice, and bright. It had a refrigerator, air conditioning (we really needed it that day), and plenty of additional seating. The golf course and other outdoor grass areas were very beautiful and well kept! I was really impressed with this seemingly small venue, in a small town!

We were here for a friends wedding. They are undergoing a much needed renovation, however I felt the cost of the rooms was more than the rooms were worth. The room was spacious, but the air was struggling to keep the room cool and there were ants and bugs everywhere. The shower was old and a joke. I feel like they were motel 6 accommodations inside the actual room. But with there being no convenient accommodations close enough to the wedding we were almost forced to stay here and pay for the rooms.

Looking forward to the renovations. We like the skeleton of what this property may turn into however after a couple of years of hope there does not appear to be a sense of urgency.

Thursday Sep. 20th 2018 My Wife and I came Here to Celebrate Our 13th year Anniversary with a romantic night getaway . We were truly Blessed to get one of there nicest rooms over looking the wedding venue and water falls . We both had a 90 min couples massage from the onsite spa( Bello Vita Spa ) Karen and the Ladies are truly AMAZING and have magical hands and could not have been more relaxing.. We got back to our room and the Hotel Surprised and Blessed us with a gift a compliantly bottle of Champaign. The food was great too we went down for lunch on Thursday over looking the golf course and we eat in for dinner and then breakfast the next morning .. The service was Great. This romantic get away was a 100 out of 100 on the point scale my wife said... I recommend you stay here for a romantic getaway and let them know before hand .. It will make for a very beautiful night... Thank you Kevin P. and all the Resort staff for making our stay very special and a Blessing ....
Food at AquaTerra is fabulous. Live music on weekends, championship golf course. People say the rooms are outdated, I say they are past outdated...they are now really cool RETRO. They arent your typical cookie cutter rooms...nice large rooms (400 sq feet and up) and a lot have patios. Real tranquil, laid back atmosphere. Perfect for a destination stay or a local staycation. And of course the boutique Bello Vita Spa with the world class massage and skincare services really puts this place on the map.

We enjoyed the very spacious suite and the resort facilities. The television was extremely old with functional issues. Terrible picture and function. The room was not fresh smelling which was a little off putting at first although we adapted. Enjoyed our stay very much.

I dont drink alcohol any more but sure enjoy an arnold Palmer at the bar.Or a nice Friday night dinner and enjoy some live music on the back porch. Really cool

Had a GolfNow.com tee time with a buddy. Great price, but we were treated like 2nd class citizens because we went through GOLFNOW. The GPS was not working or turned on the golf cart. So we called the pro shop and the dude says that its $5 bucks extra because we are GOLFNOW customers. What kind of nickel and dime operations are yall running Pala Mesa??? The course itself was okay, nothing great but to treat us like that???? I live in Ontario, my buddy lives in Riverside. We drove a long way to have a great time, instead, we felt like Pala Mesa could care less because we paid less than the normal price. Stop advertising on GOLFNOW if thats the case.

Was an older property, dated and literially was falling apart. When we opened the TV Cabinet, the hinge was broken so the door basically attached us. The view was not great, partially blocked by trees. Bed was old, we could feel each spring coil but, we are also spoiled with a sleep number at home.
Rooms are large, suites are great, get groupon deals. Old fashioned and exteriors are run down but grounds are awesome. If you get the 129 special its fun.

My son tripped coming out of an elevator & fell forward hitting his head on a table across from the elevator....Medical care was not given !!,,....he went to bed & was found dead the next morning. The Hotel did nothing to help us. This is Indian Land so the establishment will not work with you to find answers to what happened. DO NOT STAY HERE. YOU HAVE NO LEGAL RECOURSE . Our son was educated with a Master’s degree ...spoke English, Spanish & Mandarin & was accepted into a Doctorate program. We will never get over this & Pala Resort could care less....no regard at all for our loss.

Beautiful place but our room had the sweet smell of mildew, cigarette burn holes in the bedding, gas leak outside our door and a broken ice machine flooded the entrance. Plumbing was horrible I flushed a terd and somebody elses came back up(I dont eat corn)! Could be nice place but needs work,
Our night stay was difficult, but the manager is letting us give it another try. Perhaps it was an anomaly, the grounds are certainly beautiful.The events venue is stunning. At night though, I was willing to overlook the lack of hot water. Then I put on a sweatshirt to sleep in because there was only one thin blanket on the bed and no spare blankets on a chilly night. The air conditioning stayed on, further freezing us and it cannot be controlled in the room (?) as the maintenance staff later explained to me. But then, the fire alarm started going off every 30 seconds at 3 a.m. Front desk said they could do nothing. Maintenance wasnt in until morning. No one could problem-solve or locate a ladder to replace the battery. We had to endure the alarm every 30 seconds for 4 hours until maintenance arrived later that morning. There was no manager on the premises and front desk said they didnt know when a manager would be in. I have never written a negative review before but, as stated before, I am hoping this was a very unusual night and I plan on giving a great review if I can on my next stay courtesy of the manager. They are trying to make it right and I believe next time will hopefully be better!

Lots of issues....First off, I had a great experience with the females I spoke to over the phone when booking. They were very attentive of my needs as a military personnel needing to be in the government rate. But once I got here. Entirely different story.The gentleman at the front desk hardly ever looks up, you have to say hello first; he told me nothing of the resort such as what they offered. Nothing about the restaurant or check out time. NOTHING. I asked about the restaurant and if I would be able to get breakfast at 630. He said no they dont open till 7. Okay cool. But nothing else was said... He just looked back down at his phone while I was still standing in front of him.I go check into my room, theres a food palate outside my door ... Though I got lucky yet they were just dirty dishes from a previous tendant ... Then I cant find the fridge. Once I do its WARM of course there are no dials... so, as a two week tendant, thats here for military reasons that gets up early, perhaps you want to inform them of how in the heck theyre going to keep ANY food cold? Oh no microwaves either. Of course. And no response when I tell the front desk about my fridge. Utterly disappointed. And the bed, hard as a rock. No conditioner in the bathroom. And I had to ASK the front desk to remove the tray/dishes from outside my door. Thought a room attendant might have when they checked my room but they havent come by yet. PS this is night 3 of 12 I have to stay here.The reservation gal and the sales manager were the only reason this received 2 stars. If not the front desk agent in the pm would have made this a beautiful one star.

Great course
As a newly engaged couple we went to visit pala Mesa Resort 20 months in advance to the day we wanted to get married. Absolutely beautiful venue, food and bar was fantastic, I loved it. What I didn’t love was after the tour the sales rep breathing down our throat for us to sign a contract right then and there without discussing numbers and budgets with parents and family. For a wedding over a year away I would recommend letting your venue sell itself, write quotes and give them 2 days to follow up instead of requiring us to sign and place a deposit on the spot. I do think it is a beautiful place though.
Fun golf course great rooms

Horrible accommodations. The room had not been used in a while. The a/c was broken and kept off, the air was stagnant and it smelled like grandpa was ready to kick the bucket. They had 25 yr old Box TVs. All they did to remediate was slap the a/c controller back on the wall and they sent a boy to spray some febreeze and sprinkle some scented baking soda on the carpet. They were supposedly out of rooms and while I was waiting for a fix, I was listening to them talk to the next customers telling them that one of them employees conveniently switched their joint rooms without asking the customer.
Great place, the people who I talked to were nice and once we got into our room that was great too. Everything was clean and organized property. Even the cups they gave us were still wet from being washed. What keep in mind that we did have a group of over 5 people so, yes there was a lot of things happening at the same time. But over great paying or your Buck. Thank you
Was in room 412. Very nice end-unit room with apparantly vintage ceiling rafters and 1x8 T&G decking a treat to look at coming from a couple with structural engineering in our pedigree. Coming from a 6-4 tall guy, I did feel the shower head was a bit low for me, but I get used to that wherever we go. We came down for a family wedding at a nearby venue. If I wanted to come back to a place where you truly felt like you were away from the city, this would be tops on the list. Best of luck on your facelift in progress and I hope that future visitors will be impressed.

Such a cute and quaint resort. We stayed here so my bf could golf and relax. The golf course is absolutely gorgeous and everyone we encountered were all so kind and went above and beyond to really make sure we had the nest experience.
This place is very nice the staff are friendly and accommodating, very beautiful day or night.
The property is very nice, albeit a bit dated. The resort was recently purchased by Hilton or Hyatt and is about to get some needed updating of the rooms. We enjoyed our stay, but the rooms do need some updating. The buffet breakfast was good and reasonably priced at $13.99. A beautiful setting and surroundings. Lots of birds chirping, hillsides and trees surround the hotel.
Relaxing and chill yet fancy! Late checkouts great staff!
