October 14, 2018 there is a fall festival. I joined the group this year and went on a field trip and found some Actinolite and saw evidence of the San Andreas fault. Friendly and knowledgable society members.

I visited the Fallbrook Gem & Mineral Society with my grandchildren. What a great experience! They were given a tour and were told about all the exhibits. The children were allowed to chose a stone to take home from a box under the desk and they were encouraged to look through them and ask questions. This place is a Gem

Great collection, friendly and knowledgeable staff!

Very friendly staff. We got there at the last minute and they opened up the store so we could look around. Lots of local mineral knowledge, books, and rock samples.

I went there for the Rough N Cut event and to shop for new gems and stones. I enjoyed the selection and environment. I even bought 3 pieces, spending over $60 bucks. But I was so disappointed when my husband informed me afterwards that I had 3 employees hovering over me the entire time, assuming I was going to steal. Most likely because of my tattoos. There was a room of other customers and they focused only on me. The gentleman at the counter even removed their small stone collection tray on the counter by the register when I was charging out. If I was aware of this at the time, instead of enjoying myself, I wouldn’t have bought anything from there. So quick to judge and biased based off what someone looks like. Very upset and disappointed.

Two rooms in a converted cottage has descriptive displays of local and worldwide minerals and gems. Can purchase small samples, also reading materials and jewelry. Staff are polite, enthusiastic volunteers but may not be able to answer technical questions about gems and minerals on display.

Very friendly staff, beautiful museum. Small scale, and very personal atmosphere. Overall great experience. They offer many different items in the gift shop and children can get a free rock and explore their rock garden for more small samples all for free. 5 stars, would definitely recommend to any rock, mineral and gem enthusiasts or someone looking for a quick day stop while in Fallbrook.

We arrived about 5 minutes past closing and the lady let us come in even though she had all ready closed .I thought that was very kind of her. Its a small place but very informative on which types of rocks are found in this area.

The lady who teaches the lapidary class on Thursday’s and Friday’s is an impatient and extremely rude individual named Joyce. I joined this club in hopes of learning more about gemology and the art of stone cutting. My first class Joyce was very blunt about my mistakes while cutting and kept knit picking most everything I did for the next few hours. I decided to go back with an open mind and not let her criticism affect me. When I arrived for my second class she was not only unhelpful and rude again, but when i had to leave early because of a family emergency she told me word for word “if you can’t stay the whole time you might as well not come at all, you are wasting my and your time.” After this comment I replied with “that’s fine I won’t waste your time” and left. Honestly she ruined my experience and made me very uncomfortable several times. I do not recommend taking the class if you are under the age of 30-40 the teacher obviously has a problem with younger people for some odd reason. What a horrible and anxious experience haha never going back.

This is great place to visit and see the museum and gift shop. They have a dark room with lots of cool rocks that fluoresce in black light! Check it out!

Great place to bring kids! They will answer any and all questions about rocks and are so kind! As a nanny I bring all the kids I watch here so they can learn! And best part? Its FREE!

FANTASTIC small Gem & Mineral Museum - especially since its free! Was open all day today for the Avocado Festival - normally open Thurs, Fri & Sat 11 - 3.

The members here are intelligent and helpful a little stuck up but who isnt that has money

This is one of the great museums of north San Diego county sadly it is closed due to corvid.They will be having an event the second week of October which will hopefully be very successful.

Monthy meeting (2nd Thursday) are free, open to everyone, and very educational. I have been a member here for a year and I have learnt so much. Everyone is so kind, positive and willing to share their years of experiance in the gem and mineral feild. I love this community!
