I really like coming here, its really peaceful. This is my go to lake to fish when Im not inspired to go out and fish over places. Its pretty easy to fish from the bank here but you can also bring your own floating device (check their website for more details about rules about your own kayaks etc etc). You can expect to catch mainly large mouth bass here. But if youre into catching pumpkinseed be sure to bring tiny bait and just fish all along the bank.
Great family friendly spot! Beautiful trails that are pretty accessible (a lot of paved trail, some flat graveled path), a sandy swimming beach, splash pad, disc golf, picnic areas, boating, big grassy spaces, and more. Its very family friendly. They do charge a $5 parking fee (or you can get an annual Metro park pass for all Metro parks). No dogs allowed.
Really nice local park. Swimming area was closed due to covid but the place was almost empty on a Saturday afternoon. Only downside is the fancy houses across the lake you have to look at that remind you that you will never earn enough to live there.
I have only visited the disc golf course. It is well maintained, good signage, restrooms, etc. The holes are long and the entire course is a good challenge for the average to advanced player. Take a grabber stick with you as there are water hazards and lots of black berry bushes.
This place is kept very nice and clean. The restrooms were clean, the grass is well maintained. You have to pay to get in which is $5 per car. You can also purchase yearly pass. To me its worth the money. They have good size lake, have play area for kids and also picnic area with multiple tables and benches. Took my kids fishing there and hoping to get a good day, but it turned out to be a great day. All 3 of us ended up catching 13 trout. I noticed that there were a few fishing boats and kayaks also on the lake. But the boats did not go too fast where the waves they created were not too strong. So fishing there is perfect. Will come to visit again soon. Thank you, Blue Lake Park, for making our experience a blast.
So many memories here! We spent a lot of time here over the summer. Lately we have been taking my daughter there when no one is there because it’s peaceful and she chases the geese! During the summer there’s so much to do there’s multiple parks there’s a splash pad there’s paddle boats there’s a garden there’s so much open space you can set up a volley ball net or your own tent and just relax. Always crowded in the summer it’s definitely a touristy area.
Great disc course. Will take close to two hours to complete a whole round.
This lake hosts one of the toughest disc golf courses Oregon has to offer, check it out
This well maintained park is a great location to hide from the crowds. Parking costs, lessening the number of people coming here. Most activities are closed due to Covid-19 so it is just a nice place to walk.
Its a nice park. We played Disc Golf on their 18 basket course.
The swimming and paddle boats are all closed for now. Its a 5 $ entry per car. Lively walking and wonderful sites to picnic or BBQ. Permits first come first serve. Port a potties are clean as the restrooms are closed due to COVID.
It was good to look at from outside. Unfortunately, we werent able to use this lake for any recreational activities because its only open for the community which resides by the lake during Summer through October I believe. Theres this Fairview lakeshore park right beside this lake which is smaller than Blue lake but has some good views and pleasant. Do check that out if youre coming from outside and planning to do some recreational activities like kayak, jet skiing etc.. There are some trails around this park, you can check them out if youre interested in a pleasant walk or having a picnic/bbq in the grass. Also, there is $5 entry for parking which would go waste if you dont know that you wont have access to this lake. Just make sure in advance before driving up to the parking lot. Cheers!
Great park, you can do a lot of walking on the trail, but its level! People are very friendly smiling and waving and using social distancing! We will be back! But second trip ALL bathrooms are closed, my wife had to squat to piss in the woods! They charge $5 to park even though you can’t fully use this park!
Awesome places, quiet and relaxing...I love it ...you should go too.
Still a good place to go but everything is closed inside the park so just plan for no swimming or paddle boats etc
Large park in Fairview, OR (right outside of NE Portland). Off of Marine drive and NE 223rd. The park has numerous picnic areas that can be reserved in advance. Some are open areas with just picnic tables with charcoal grilles (bring your own briquettes) while others are sheltered and have a sink & grille. There are volleyball courts, open fields for playing catch or running around and plenty of parking. It does cost $5 per car to get.in, and no alcohol is allowed. Its great for kids birthday parties or family gatherings.
Gorgeous park. Love it every season. The goose poop is kinda grody but nature.Inexpensive to park ($5) which Im more than happy to pay.Nice play structure. Great during summer for kiddos to play near water. Fantastic park bench seating. Great grass seating as well. Wonderful trees.A family fave!
It is a great place the relax dont have meetings Worship the Lord
Could have been a nice park, but does not allow leashes dogs. How silly.
Its a nice place to relax through the COVERT bs.
Great park! It was nearly empty on a cold winter day. I imagine it is PACKED in the summer.
Nice park with lots of picnic tables, a reserved area and a not reserved tables. Lots of geese stay here so watch where you walk. A small swimming area with a splash pad for some of the younger kids and a smelling garden. The picture is the West End of the park with lots of lily pads near the hiking area.
This park was well maintained very clean and huge. In addition to that variety of places and scenery to make your selection from and not to mention the location very close to Columbia river. Me and my family were there on Labor Day and it is very gorgeous. Was there for an events and toilet facilities very clean...Good place for family activities. Lots of people going here. $5.00 parking fee assessed upon entering.
Huge park with lots of different playgrounds and fields. There is a day use fee but its definitely worth it. You can even rent a peddle boat by the hour and peddle your way around the lake.
What a beautiful family park. Especially in the spring! I would love to live with a view of the lake.
Beautiful park with lots of amenities and activities to choose from.
Very relaxing! Glad there are now porta pottys.
Awesome lay out, love the fountains in the lake and the splash pad! The one thing that was hard to get around was all the geese & duck poop. Lots of it on the beach part. I probably would go back to the splash pad but not to the lake because of the poop. It would be awesome if it could get cleaned up!
Awesome place with nice biking trails. Big picnic area and boating options.
Great view of the sunset and Columbia river, good parking.
We love this park! They have everything; a beach, splash pad, bbqs, nature paths, grassy areas, paved paths, trees for shade, bathrooms and 3 playgrounds.
Husband completed the Olympics Triathlon here! Highly recommend the park. Beautiful place. Well taken care of.
Always a nice place to visit in the summer for family BBQs but it is increasingly overrun with geese and geese poop these days. Watch where you step! Also be mindful of the water--it is notorious for getting people sick due to algae blooms!
Too much noisy staff all day especially on lawn mowers and a lot of exhaust. There have been no improvements and updates for many years.
Amazing beautiful place...
Beautiful day at a beautiful park! Only thing that would make it better is if I could walk my pup there.
Went to Blue Lake for the first time yesterday. Loved it! The park was clean, the garbage cans were emptied the night before, the restrooms had obviously just been cleaned and were cleaned often. There are a ton of picnic tables, but get there early because it fills up. You could swim, fish, paddle boat, play in the splash pad or on a playground. Walking trails. A great place for a family to spend the day.
Was awesome. Loved it !! Never been here before but will definently be back!
Place is beautiful and neat.Bathrooms clean.Just hate how theres duck/geese poop everywhere. Otherwise wouldve been 5stars
Clean. Did some fishing. Had a blast
Lovely place, not recommended on weekends, too busy
Beautiful, fun park with lots of different spots for hanging out with family or friends. They have a splash pad, a bunch of playgrounds and grassy areas, and of course plenty of lakeside areas for playing in or near the water. The entrance fee is $5 per vehicle (or was at the time of this post).
Another go to place my family enjoy going too. You can’t go wrong with blue lake park. I been coming here for the past 20 years and this place has upgraded they did a very good job. Best place for family reunion, birthday parties, family gatherings,Wedding, Swimming, boats, small kid water play area, sports, church gatherings, and much much more
Blue Lake Regional Park has been nice and fun but I dont go near the water for i dont swim so I just stay where the people are.
I go here all the time to play disc golf. It’s easy to lose discs and come away without bleeding. But it is a great course
First of all - no dogs allowed. They say its for reasons but it seems excessive to bar them from the entire, giant, beautiful park.I went to swim, but the area designated for this is barely big enough to splash in - much less train for the triathlon that was occurring the NEXT DAY. I had also visited in weeks prior but they hadnt bothered to test the water so the piddly swimming area could be opened. If the piddly swimming area had been opened on either of my previous two visits I would have known it was not suitable for training. They only open the entire lake for swimming on event days, which seems ridiculous but Im certain has everything to do with the ostentatious houses lining the other shore.
Lots of interesting birds, fishing, grilling. Found some coyote scat with vole skulls!! The lake house is really nice too!!
NOT FOR BEGINNERSAmazing course to play, a little over 3 miles of walking(minimum) to play one round.
Nice place to meet up with your friends and family keep it mind you have to payparking lot $plus pay to use some of the picnic tables
1st timer for this park & loved it. Park on the grass, wonderfilled event on that day, plenty of gazebos to go around. I think its a State park at that. Let the kiddos run! Put them to bed on Empty energy tanks.
Human Solutions had the company picnic here. It was wonderful. I havent been here in years. They have made upgrades. This would be a great place to take little one as they have playgrounds and a splish pad which I dont think they had when my kid was little.
This park is so much bigger than I remembered! There are endless fields and picnic areas. The splash pad is awesome and the kids love it! The swimming area in the lake is pretty small and the sediment really gets kicked up if there are a lot of people swimming in there but it’s cleaner than it used to be.
Great park, lots of play areas for kids, benches, and the Splash pad.
Peaceful, well attended and beautiful surroundings.
Clean disc gilf course. Very hard towards the back 9. Lots of blackberry OB
Well kept and great entertainment for the kids. Our little ones love the splash pad!
I visited the disc golf course here and it is amazing. Now having said that, here are some pros and cons.Pros: very well taken care of course, easy to follow layout, looooong holes for those bombers everyone likes to throw, lots of technical shots makes for a fun game. Cons: paid parking (its only $5 but still), no dogs allowed, group size limited to 5, the long shots and technicality of the course make it a course definitely not for amateurs. But all around a fun course to play.
Lovely park. Boring vibe. Play areas, walking paths and picnic areas are the best features of this park. Water activities, community vibe and facilities need work. The designated swimming area gets so concentrated with people that it can be a health hazard.
Good place to picnic and gather for barbeque
Great place to take kids, young kids too. Theres a splash pad lots of benches, you can rent covered spaces with barbecues for birthday parties. There are so BBQs to use for free with benches surrounding. Then theres the beautiful Lake, a section of the lake set up for kids to swim with on-site lifeguards. we used to go out to Washington to find a like like this and this whole time theres been one right here in Oregon.
Great place to just injoy your day oh the fish are big
Blue Lake Disc Golf Course - 18-holeSome of these greens are very, very long. The front-9 holes are in a generally shady area. In mid-August, you may want to consider just playing the front-9, due to heat. That said, we did not, we played the whole 18 holes. It is an outstanding, beautiful park. Even the brush is somewhat cleared for disc recovery. There are, however, quite a number of holes that have thorny brush areas. However, there are paths already cleared, so the chances youll find your disc in one of the pre-cut paths is fairly good. There are public restrooms Just across the road from hole 1, near where the parking is for the disc golf course.Loved this course. Dont recommend the heat.
Beautiful park. Came around dusk to do some fruitless but relaxing fishing, but I could easily see spending a whole day here swimming, playing frisbee, grilling, and otherwise enjoy spending time with people I enjoy spending time with. Also, fun fact, modern technical writing rules allow you to end a sentence with a preposition if to do otherwise would force you to work your sentence awkwardly! Five bucks per car to park, open til 9.
Anytime I bring my family here, I feel like were gonna catch some kind of something nasty. Would rather go somewhere else but its close, and I tell my kids not to dunk their heads.
Very nice place to party. Go for a long walk. The wild life is very present playgrounds all over the area.
We love this place. It can be kinda gross with the duck poop. But my kids love it here. And the people that work here are always super awesome. A true must every summer!!
Great park to go run in. You have to pay to get in if you dont have a park pass. I will gladly pay to go since it keeps the riff raff out of the park. No smoking, no drinking, no acting like an idiot. Great place to go!
This place looks beautiful in person and is great for a lazy day with a loved one.
Such a cool Park. You can playin the splash pad if you want to or you can swim on the beach that has been cordoned off for the rest of the lake. You can rent paddle boats or just hang out with your family in the covered areas. This has been one of Portlands favorite parks for at least four generations.
Gorgeous park. Really enjoyed the event that I went to. Want to swim sometime, there. I got too busy doing other things at my event. Great weather on August 18th, which helped greatly.
Lovely place just wish you could bring dogs
Was there for a baby shower.. and from were we had to park and were the site was far as we had a lot of heavy items to move we asked if we could move our cars closer to be able to unload and load them and was told we couldnt. Will not be back because of this.
I love blue lake! My boyfriend and I spend most of our time on the disc course! It’s a huge course and I’m almost positive it’s considered a pro course. They have Tournaments there quite frequently. Lots and lots of wildlife, very quiet and secluded.
We went to throw a line in fishing and werent particularly impressed. It sports a fairly limited dock with railing all the way around. Only about 20% of the shoreline is accessible, most being blocked by private homes.Didnt catch anything but did get a hit. For picnicking I could imagine its a nice spot with good services.Probably wont go back.
There is everything there. Within walking distance interactive artifacts splash paads paddleboats a swimming pool. An amazing dock with lilly pads. Wheel cheel easy everywhere
So many things you can do here!!! I loved it. Great for families.
Cant bring your own kayak for recreation because they rent them. Also cannot bring dogs on your boat. Cant bring model planes or any remote controlled toys or vehicles. Not my kinda place. Others would enjoy it though.
Cool disc course, but Id lose at least 4 in one round with the mowed fairways. Too easy to lose a good throw here. I dont play it because Milo and Pier are way better.
Best place for families summertime get togethers. Playgrounds, picnic tables plenty of restrooms. Peddle boating, swimming beautiful scenery, nice landscaping lots of elbow space accommodating parking $5 a car.
Love this place in the summer. Beautiful place to bar be q, have picnics to go to. Nice breeze wonderful, i would definitely tell others whoever have been should go!
I feel like Ive reviewed this already? Anyway, I come for the disc golf park but the rest of the park is nice too. Excellent bathrooms and ample parking. But yeah, the disc golf course is sweet. Super long holes and lots of variety. Not easy but still fun.
Lovely
We love this park very nice very calm and the best thing theres no dogs allowed
Fishing off the pier. Not a bad spot.
They were over crowded and no parking space.
Nice park. The lake was closed because of blue algae otherwise it was nice and clean
Beautiful place! Has many parking lots and very nice people.
