Nice upscale compared to Tropicana Hotel. I wish there was more hot food on breakfast beside waffles. Bacon and sausage would be nice. Not sure was the $17 resort amenity fee is for, they dont have a pool and disappointed no room service but overall a nice place to stay whether or not you are going to the casino.
Hotel was great, and the courtesy shuttle was perfect for our particular stay. Check in was less than informative. She basically just asked for my card and gave me my room number. Did not explain breakfast, shuttle services, parking, etc. If we would not have asked questions we would have not known. Overall nice hotel and accommodations.
This hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly! It is connected to the casino, which is very nice. The breakfast options werent the greatest, but that could be because I am very picky. The rooms were very spacious, well maintained and all around perfect. The price was a little high, but it was a weekend rate. We will definitely be booking our next stay in Evansville here!
It was a great place to stay. Wish we had been able to stay longer. Good breakfast. great room and bed. A little higher price than comparable places.
Love this hotel! Every time I visit Evansville this is where I stay. The staff is very professional and courteous. Every time I check in they greet my like a long time friend and not just a guest. I really like that its now connected to the casino and all the restaraunts. Makes it very convenient because gaming and food are within easy walking distance. Its also close to the riverfront if you like to watch a relaxing sunset or take a walk. The rooms are always extremely clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Evansville.
We stayed for one night to see a concert at the Ford Center. Free shuttle to/from the show. Clean, comfortable rooms. Easy access to the casino. Restaurant/drinks on site. Convenient free parking.Only two minor negatives: breakfast is pretty basic, but is ok; overpowering fragrance in the lobby trying to mask the smoke smell that comes from the casino. Neither of these would persuade me from staying again.
My Husband surprised me with a quick overnight trip for our 20th anniversary. Having gone on referrals from persons at work, he had selected to stay at Le Merigot thinking that by their recommendations and the price, it would be a nice stay. He was told unfortunately, that even on a Tuesday night, no suites were available as they were reserved for comp to the guests at the casino. Fine, he decided, surely a standard room at the rate of *$179.00* would still be a wonderful stay! ….um no.A standard room at Le Merigot does not come with a refrigerator, microwave, and additional amenities. It does however come with a large amount of dust, streaked stainless steel fixtures, dirt and other things in the corners and what appears to be mold around the venting of the room.I’ve stayed at Hilton’s, Hyatt’s, Mariott’s and even Holiday Inn’s which were extremely more accommodating, stylish and laid out in better fashion than the room we were assigned. The bathroom was ridiculous with its pompous over use of glass doors around the shower (no bath), which leaked into the commode area which also touted a dirty heavy ridiculous glass door. The bathroom door was hung either crooked or sagged so as to rake across the floor each time it was opened and closed. The layout of the room was odd and nothing lined up, the TV askew from the bed, awkward desk and wardrobe (no closet) placement. (*Please note in one of the pictures below, my husband is writing a note in the dust atop the wardrobe. You can see the pile of dust at the edge of the unit.) The view we experienced for $179.00 was of the roof of the hotel and the parking garage.Yes..we could have spent the time to go and complain to the front desk, and/or lost a deposit amount. Yes we could have chosen to do this and spent a couple hours driving around Evansville looking for a nicer room…which I can imagine we could have found one at a significantly more reasonable price with more in-room amenities. BUT we decided to take our time on our 20th to spend a nice dinner together instead and had time to spare to catch the end of a blues band at Lamasco’s to top off our night. I would definitely not recommend. There are several other places in Evansville that offer a better view, better amenities and surely a much better price.
We stayed in a King Suite and the walk in shower was amazing. I liked the ease of access to the Casino, and the bed and bedding were the most comfortable Ive slept on out of the many hotels Ive stayed in across the country. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Overall, the property was nice and connected to the casino. We had to wait a little bit to check in since we opted for an upgrade- corner room. We were on the third floor so our upgrade view was mainly concrete and construction work. For the price, we would probably stay somewhere else the next time we visit Evansville. The room was clean, but the shower seemed to leak into the toilet area. Not a big deal but wasnt top notch.
Hotel was awesome! Amazing shower! Super comfy beds! Staff was friendly and shuttle service was great!!! Easy access to casino! Pretty view of River!
I like the decor, and the layout of the rooms. Very clean very modern. I wish there were an indoor pool or hot tub, at the very least.
The room was nice. The staff was all nice. However there was an additional “$15” charge when checking in that was $17.50 at check out. It appeared as though I’d paid for everything online already. The hidden fees were not appreciated. Also, the smell of smoke was everywhere. Unless you’re a smoker, I’d recommend staying somewhere else.
The room was pretty nice. There is NOT bathtub, at least in the room we had so that might be a thought if you have a small child. The bathroom has separate doors for the shower and the toilet. The biggest flaw was the room did not get very cool with thermostat set to 60 and fan running the whole time.
Booked a king bed room and upon arrival was only given a 2 queen bed room. Not a huge deal. Overall the room was awesome. The shower was out of this world!
Check in and out was great very fast. The room was fine it could of been a little cleaner especially the bathroom.
Nice modern hotel .Was not expecting anything fancy but I was wrong ! Beautiful bathroom with huge showers. Designed to look really posh . Lobby smelled like vanilla/coconut mix all the time.complimentary trolly to downtown and back . It is attached to Tropicana casino .but the crowd from casino do not have direct access to he hotel . Will recommend staying here !
The rooms are very clean and the amenities are nice, I have stayed here more that 5 different times and the service and hospitality has always been good. The only negative (which is probably my fault) is that the gym and gym access are not at all apparent, they say there is a gym and I’ve been through most of the whole complex and have never seen it.
Hotel was very nice as usual. 2 stars is because stuff was stolen from our vehicle while using valet!! Update. Going to 1 star do to the response to things stolen while my vehicle was in their care. I have had to file reports while their security and the Evansville Police. I am out over $1600 in items stolen and another $200 for the room. All I have gotten is an Im sorry this happened and we will look into it. The people I have spoke with have been nice but I feel the company can do better.
Wonderful hotel thats a short walk from basically everything in downtown Evansville. Id never stayed here before, as I grew up here and never had a reason to stay in the hotel, but Im glad that visitors to my hometown have such a nice option in the heart of the city. All of the employees were very helpful, especially Sherry!
We felt the lady at check in could have acted nicer but other than that it’s a good place to stay.
Very clean, and easy checkin and great rooms. Staff was very nice.
In my opinion, my room looked great upon first impression. The room was modern, nice furniture, flat screen tv with plenty of channels. The shower closet has multiple water heads and it was the best shower I ever experienced. On the flip-side and after a closer inspection, the room was very dusty. Telephone books were not available in my room nor was there a hotel information packet that referenced near-by restaurants, attractions, and hotel amenities. Morning new papers were not provided. The morning breakfast consisted of chilled fruits, cold muffins, yogurt, coffee and tea, bags of instant grits or you can make your own waffel. I must say I did get my monies worth but unless this is only hotel available in Evansville, I will not be staying here again. Oh yeah, one mo thing. They tack on an $18.00 fee on top of the price for the room.
Excellent stay. Rooms were very nice and spacious. Connected casino and restaurants within are very good. Had a really good stay.
Nice clean room, nice location and enjoyed evening; as with most reviews read prior to booking, resort fee high for amenities.
Great hotel with good casino. Food in the casino is fantastic. Must try if you are around. Hotel provides free shuttle to business district as well as from airport.
Nice rooms. Comfy beds. Great shower!
Great place, but the resort fee is a joke.
This hotel is by far my favorite place to stay! The rooms are amazing, from the showers to the bed linens! You won’t find another hotel that accommodates quite like this one! Casino, restaurants, and bars without even walking outside. Will definitely be back ASAP!
You might as well have a policy no one under 21 can stay there. My daughter could not get to any of the restaurants because she is 15 years old. The walk way was closed again and it was raining so walking outside was not an option. The. The lobby bar is gone and so are the gift shops it’s a boring smoky place to stay and we will never b back
Nice Clean Hotel. I like it better than Tropicana.
We liked the room, location, cleanliness. If you need a mini fridge ask and they will bring you one cause they are not in every room. Staff was helpful
Rooms clean, bathrooms large and roomy.Overall great hotel and casino
Started out ok. Made a cup of coffee in the room, but was stopped at the casino entrance by a GOON who hollared no outside drinks! I responded that it was from my room in the hotel, and the GOON shook his head and repeated his shouted NO again. At $300 a night in the hotel and $2000 spent on the casino floor, he needs to be cleaning bathrooms instead of GREETING guests. Such a jerk.
Awesome rooms nice little breakfast. Wish I won some money. LoL
Great other than a/c didnt work well
Stylish rooms and bathroom. Taphouse bar/restaurant connected to it was really nice
Good I liked everything think good s I love ️
Rooms could be a little bigger. Good decor and staff
The is a very beautiful top of the line hotel. Very elegant in the rooms. The glass shower door, glass door to even the toliot room. They have a tv in the bathroom. Very nice bed spreads. The view of the Ohio river is very nice.
Excellent place enjoyed my stay very much..!!!
Beautiful hotel next to the Casino in downtown. Easily access lots of activities
Right bext to the venue we were going to. Brightly lit, quier property
The room we started in was a corner room. It was amazing and had awesome views of the river. The bathroom was large and upscale with a nice shower. The shower did leak water profusely, however, but a towel fixed that issue. The lobby smells of ... Something.. not quite cigarette smoke, but maybe the ozone stuff they use to cover it up? It wasnt distracting, like smoke is, but it was different enough for a mention. Direct access to the (now moved onshore) casino. The restaurant is in the casino, so nonsmokers beware. A solid place to stay for a getaway evening or weekend. Well be back.
Service is great. Rooms are clean, and I love the shower!!!
Great place. Not large, but nice amenities and nicely decorated...
I hate to admit it, but I was disappointed. The bathroom had mold. The shower door leaked and there were no spaces available for me to sit and eat breakfast. It is a nice hotel, but my experience was poor.
The shower was by far the best part.
It is clean and beautiful. I would prefer it over the tropicana but it has a little less space.
Nice place for a little dwn time
Good location, large room, staff very nice.Unfortunately bathrooms not clean. Weird vibrating noise from machine in hallway.
Beautiful views of the Ohio River. Got a great rate thru Orbitz.
The bed was very comfortable with down pillows and comforter and the mattress was not rock hard. The shower was fantastic (car wash type feel). The rooms are very modern and updated. The hotel is trendy. Short indoor walk to the casino which is connected. River views. I had an excellent stay and definitely would stay here again.
A nifty little niche hotel our room had a view of the river and the shower in the bathroom was worth the cost of the room
They area was really nice and the rooms where nice too
Beautiful, clean and just great! The only thing we were wanting was better TV options. :(
Overpriced and with ridiculously small TV sets. When they shut down the District they destroyed any reason to go there. Used to be nicest hotel in Eville...now its showing its age.
Amazing stay, wonderful staff.
Clean with nice staff. Resort fee is added to base rate. Breakfast is terrible.
The waiters were really nice. The food was spectacular. I cant wait to come back and stay!
Posh experience and left rejuvenated.
The rooms are beautiful, very nice and elegant. Attached to the casino, if you like casinos thats a good thing. within walking distance of a couple restaurant but I stayed on a Monday night and they were all closed. The continental breakfast is pretty good but you have to eat in lounge chairs using coffee tables. Very uncomfortable.
Awesome room, bed, breakfast, shuttle service and of course people!!
Extension of what I posted on Expedia: This was our second stay at this hotel and for the price I am not impressed with certain things. 1st Stay last fall we were in one of the suites - there was garbage in the trash bin, white stains on the couch (gross), some sort of bodily fluid stain (assuming vomit) next to the bed and the bathroom had pee drop stains around the base of the toilet ect. Most recently we traveled to the area for my Grandmother’s funeral – I stayed at this hotel again b/c my mother and sister were also staying there – first thing multiple people were not very friendly on the telephone booking line when I was trying to coordinate my room– upon arrival into our room we again had trash in our trash– the next morning when my husband and I took our showers (both less than 5 mins) and the water flooded into the hallway, when I politely addressed the issue with the front desk clerk I felt like she was rather dismissive with my problem and basically said that the amount of water that comes out of the shower depends on who and how long is in the shower(for $189 a night I shouldn’t have to worry about my shower length!)… she then cut me off and asked the people behind me if they were checking out – She came back to me and told me she would send housekeeping up to clean it – I let her know that was already done (I was traveling with my infant son so I didn’t want to risk slipping w/ him) and that extra towels for the next morning was all that I needed at that time. The shower leak has been on going issue no doubt about it considering the damage to the bathroom door -- no one should have been booked in this room. The hotel smells nice, they did provide a crib and extra waters as requested in my booking and most of the front desk staff was great, housekeeping was friendly. I don’t feel like I will be staying here a third time.
Advertised as the premier place in Evansville. If your a smoker you will love it. The entire place smells like an ashtray. All the amenities listed other than the fitness room dont physically exist at Le Merigot but at their sister hotel Tropicana. Given the smoke associated with both places your better off staying at the Tropicana where the amenities they claim actually exist.
I stayed at Le Merigot for a work trip and my experience was very positive. Good location near several restaurants and the casino. Nice big room overlooking the river with a cool rain shower. My only complaint was that my room didnt have a full length mirror.
I was very pleased with the hotel. It was really nice to stay in a hotel that was modern and up to date. Most hotels feel aged. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My only complaint was the breakfast. Considering the price for the stay, I expected more than your average continental. Other than that, I would stay again.
Comfortable room, professional staff, chic interior. Breakfast could be better, but the coffee was fine. Id gladly stay here again and recommend the hotel. Blush bar is really cool, and within walking distance of an Irish and Mexican restaurant. The bed and pillows are super soft. I slept well.
The rooms were fantastic. Top notch service with very accommodating staff. The rooms were well maintained and clean. The bathroom was incredible and the view was good even with the construction. I will always come here when I stay in Evansville.
This place is amazing! So clean so refreshing! Beds are so comfy, with down comforters! A must stay! Plus you are right there at the casino (so if you drink to much your not far from your bed) Enjoy this stay, it is fabulous!
Very nice penthouse suite....
I paid an upcharge for this hotel due to how gorgeous it is and how many great things Id always been told.. So, we decided to go for our 21st Valentines Day.. It is just as beautiful as I had expected.. Then we check in to our room and our bathroom was NASTY.. The floors were HORRIBLE, hadnt been dusted, shower wasnt clean.. UGGH! And to top it all off, they only have a Medium in a Robe.. Yes, A robe.. So, we wont be staying and spending extra for that again.
The Hotel was very nice, clean and well located with a great view of the river.
Ive stayed at the Le Merigot MANY times and love it. Ill continue to stay there too. Ive never had a bad stay.
Excellent shower/bathroom compared to most hotels for business travel. Surprisingly quiet for being attached to a casino.
This hotel is right across the road from the Tropicana Casino. It has a overhead walkway from the hotel to the casino. The room was average size with a large bathroom and walk in shower. No tub. The bed was comfortable with crisp clean sheets and soft pillows. We had breakfast in the lobby/sitting area. Typical hotel breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel is a little dated and could use updating, but is still a nice hotel They are in the process of building a new casino right next to this hotel. Once it is done it will be more convenient to get to it from the hotel.
Enjoyed it very much. Decor is nice though a little worn in the room. Altogether a very enjoyable time.
Slept like a baby in the huge, comfy bed. Cavanaugh’s was delicious. Modern and elegant decor with easy casino access
Ribeye was fabulous. Server did NOT know her alcohols or whether they served it there or not. Never brought our host his shrimp appetizer. Server never had alcohol in her life. Get some experienced ppl please!!!
Le Merigot was fantastic. We got a room on the top floor, and the room was very clean and stylish. The bathroom is amazing, and the shower is a waterfall style with 4 heads. The staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast was very good for a free continental.
The best shower in the entire universe! Sink and toilet didnt flush. And the customer service wasnt as friendly as on previous visits. Great gym, good free breakfast
Amazing! Courteous staff! The room was beautiful and the cleanest hotel I have ever been in. Wonderful view of the Ohio river. Came for a mini vacation and will definitely be coming back!
The hotel was recommended by a business contact. The amenities were perfect, the room was conducive to work (many business hotels are not) - the desk was large, the room was well lit and the chairs were comfortable. A great bed and nice comforter made a good nights sleep easy. I would highly recommend Le Merigot.
We enjoyed our stay at the Le Merigot and the room was luxurious and very comfortable. Breakfast was good and its centrally located. Only issue was the temporary inconvenience of the remodel which provided some jack hammer ambiance for breakfast. But hopefully when its finished, it will be worth it.
Stayed here for a night & it was the best get away. I loved the decor of the place. The shower was HUGE and my bed was super comfy. I had a nice relaxing stay and enjoyed a yummy breakfast before I was back on the road. I will be returning soon!
The entire staff and management have always a great job at making every stay a memorable one for me. A+++
This place was fantastic. The room was very well maintained, the bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was great! The staff was very helpful and friendly. I will definitely go back.
Great hotel down by the water. Nice clean updated rooms with plush linens and great decor. The flat screen television in the bathroom is a plus as well. Not sure if all the rooms have a shower with four heads (rainfall, normal mount, and two body jets) but it does make for a great experience after a long day, the shower is big enough to fit four people if needed. The continental breakfast is ok, nothing special but they do give free vouchers for it upon check in. Friendly staff made this a great stay.
It was a really nice room, the only issue was that I didnt know how to use the shower xD
Had to stay here while my house was getting stuff done very nice and clean and luxurious
I wasnt impressed. It is very crammed I felt like and the slots are in no sort of order as far as wager amount, then when I asked an employee where the dollar machines were his reply was Im not sure the placement, sorry. No attempt at all to be helpful.
Great place to stay
We went to the one in Evansville close to the Boat (Tropicana). It was beautifully decorated and the upkeep was very well maintained. Te staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
The outside is very nice and well maintained. Close to the riverfront so lots of opportunity to enjoy that side of downtown.
Everything about this place is great
Beautiful property so close to casino nice people great parking
Very comfy rooms. Would stay here tonight but they are sold out!
The hotel was great and had the best towels I have ever had at a hotel. If you are going to an event in Evansville, this is a great place to stay. Highly recommended!
The best hotel in Evansville that I know about. Rooms are clean and spacious.
