A fantastic little river park that is usually uncrowded. Picnic tables, a playground, and a few miles of trails which are open year round. There is an old bridge you can cross, for terrific views of the river. Some bison and elk can be seen in the meadow viewing areas. A great little visitor center, stocked with area visitor guides for the entire state of Wyoming. You will also enjoy the educational displays about the native animals. A compact but interesting park that you can explore any time of the year.
Wonderful place to see the bison, and elk. Its a great place to take a hike or go to for a family picnic.
I give it 5 Stars. Autumn gives it 3 stars. She had to be on leash. Well cared for. Health animals. Yes real elk, bison and the like. Autumn liked the river running through also.
Great place for meeting up with family in Salt Lake. Its as close to a halfway point as you can get and still be close to all amenities you might need. The restrooms are well maintained and there are several picnic areas. The walkways and trails along the river are great for stretching your legs.
Has a playground right near eating area has great swimming areas and lots to look at has information signs while walking teaching about the different types of animals just love it here
I have always loved visiting my local State Park. It is absolutely beautiful & has so many trails you can take when Im need of an adventure. The river is so refreshing to float down & play in during the summer as well when it lowers & slows down. All the facilities on the state park are kept well clean & it is a wonderful place to spend time with family & friends.
Very nice park love the water and tables available to eat or relax. Very clean bathrooms Thank you
Love the state park! We walked the pathway and saw some wildlife. Here are some pics for you.
Amazing place! I love where I live♡
Love the trails at this park. Its my favorite place to unwind. The elk were amazing
A great little State Park in Evenston Wyoming. It has a bunch of wildlife thst you can see without the dangers of getting hurt. Theres Buffalo or Bison whichever youd like to call them thru also have a few huge Elk. Theyre beautiful animals and looks like theyre all cared for really well. Doesnt look or feel like any zoo or anything. I was very impressed.
Convenient dump station and darling buffalo.
A beautiful place to go walking/hiking in the summer and snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter. Has a mix of paved and unpaved trails so spots are ADA-friendly and accessible. There are several great spots to picnic as well. Don’t forget to check out the bison and elk!
Very nice place to go for a drive......
Awesome Venue for a sad day when we held my late aunts celebration of life.
Beautiful river walk and this Spring the bison. Gave birth to two calves they are amazing to see
This a must stop along highway 80 . The restrooms were clean. There were individual stalks with plenty of privacy. The water was warm . There was soap and hand sanitizer. The main building was closed temporary due to Covid 19 . Otherwise they would offer refreshments and other useful items . There is a lot to see . There were Buffalos grazing in the field. There was educational information about the area .
Awsome place to bike and hike, lots of wildlife to see
My husband, kids and I go every weekend for a walk and it’s such a great place
Was great to just take a moment
Quick pit stop for us, and we enjoyed looking at everything in the welcome area. It was cool that there were animals to look at without having to venture too far from the parking lot.
We had a nice walk with our dog (on leash) for about a mile maybe more. There were a couple spots along the river where our dog could swim. The walk way is concrete ... Cool on the dogs feet. I dont know how long the trail is but it sure was nice! This was our 1st visit ... More to come!
Well kept, great visitors center.
Bison babies and their nursing mothers along with the daddy bison. Three enormous elk also in the same pen. Very nice and clean bathrooms.
Good little trail to walk
Beautiful place!!! Nice place to talk a walk or have a picnic!
Great place to stop and strech out on long drives the view is gorgeous
Such nice people at the welcome center
Nice visitor center. Friendly helpful staff.
Best family park ever must see for all ages elk are amazing the buffalo are neat too
Stopped at the rest area because of the dump station and came across this! So exciting!
Great stop off route 80. Opens at 8 am. Great spot to stretch your legs and eat your lunch/breakfast Once you arrive go past the bathrooms and park in the next lot. There you will find a trail that crosses the creek and opens up to several more gravel easy walking trails.
Beautiful little park, nice walking trail, lots of parking and picnic tables and grills. Currently snow all over the ground but they keep the road and parking stalls cleared. It’s nice to go out and see the bison and elk. Haven’t had a chance to walk the full trail, waiting for it to warm up a little more but overall it’s been a fun place to visit.
Hiking here is awesome!
I take my dog there every weekend. Last weekend we saw a BIG raccoon on the trail when we came around the path. Of course the picture is one of many Perrier dogs that live there.
Dont miss the Bison and Elk in the pastures. Dont be surprised if you see a moose on a hike along the river. Great bird watching in this well trailed riparian area. Look for many other wild animals in this hidden gem. The visitors center also has excellent displays.
Wonderful park! Lots of hiking and biking trails along the river! Bison and elk on the park year round!
Great place to stop for a rest stop. Bison are generally here to see up close (in a field behind a fence) but werent here today.
Great state park
A beautiful spot to stop. Too bad the womens restroom was out of order & the family restroom toilet was plugged. Great views & the flag flying was very moving!
One of my favorite places.
Very nice walking paths, clean bathrooms, a nice playground for the kids, several picnic tables. There was also an area where we saw buffalo! Pretty cool to see!
This is a spot worth stopping for has a wonderful display of animals with the taxidermy being outstanding.
Great place to relax and unwind from your drive. Picnic tables, the Bear River, a couple of Elk and a small herd of Bison. Awesome.
Filling Easter eggs for the Springtime festivities.
Very cool, we saw elk, bison, and antelope. Then we saw a moose on the way out just outside the park. Really amazing :)
I like coming here and seeing the Bison.
A must stop and spread your legs! Even had a little water spiket in the middle of dog area with clean water to cool off dogs with.
My family always stops there when driving through Wyoming its a great place to stretch your legs and see some animals that arent usually so easy to find.
Nice veiw
Stopped in to the visitors center and got 15 minutes of great in olive, information and maps from the incredibly helpful Kendra one of the park ranger. She was so helpful I couldnt thank her enough. I was driving through in my RV and was able to dump my tanks and get some fresh water all they ask us a small donation. Clean bathrooms and very cool center with several stuffed animals and info.. Even got a 50 cent cup of coffee donation... Thanks again for a great way to be welcomed to your great state of Wyoming
Played tourist and stopped and checked it out. The kids loved it.
Nice place
Great little park, great little walking trail huge elk and buffalo
Did not visit but by photos in Google maps I am intrested in visiting.
I love this park/rest stop. Good place to have a sandwich or stretch the legs before the next long stretch of Wyoming road. Sometimes you can see the buffalo in the field next to the visitors center. I appreciate the outside dog runs. Pick up burgers in Evanston and enjoy a picnic here!
Clean restrooms and easy parking
Not near what we had expected and as we were 15 foot from the door when the woman working shut the lights off and locked the door on us. Didnt see hours on the door but it was 445 when she locked up
Always stop here when in EvanstonVery well kept, and the critters are amazing. Take plenty of pictures.
Great scenery & wild life.
Wonderful place to go walking, hiking, running and biking. I love the new trails in the back area. Only part is I wish people would clean up after the dogs. I know it isnt the people who clean the state parks job to do it. So for all those people who are being gross about it just clean up after your dogs they even give you bags.
Nice bathrooms, good stop. Just please dont walk up to the fence when the Bison are there. That fence wont stop one. Enjoy them from afar.
Nice even in the cold
Very nice come walk and enjoy nature too. Come here couple of time week. They have many trails to walk on. Come try out you will see buffalo and elk here too. And mybe deer too.
Loved it! And they have hi speed wifi.
It was very nice the best one we have been too. The workers where not friendly at all. They stayed in there office discuss nonsemseThey did not want to be botheredI want there job and get paidThe bathroom could be cleanerUse some bleach to the floor.
Great little stop while passing through. Good opportunity to walk the pups, stretch your legs, enjoy nature and get a little education. Play areas for the kiddos, plenty of picnic spaces, nature trails, small museum and more!
The kids loved the Buffalo.
The best ever rest area! Amazing mounts and knowledgeable and friendly staff. Sure worth stopping in to see!
Beautiful scenery and wildlife. Clean bathrooms!
Place to stop along the highway. Nothing special about it.
It was awesome
Nice picnic areas and restrooms, Bison and Elk!
Beautiful park
Great first time visiting this spot. Very chilly winds, but its a great place to stop going past Evanston!
Very pretty rest area for travelers. For Rvers, there is a free dump station donations are accepted. Also has information office. Easy in/out access. Well kept. Restrooms are clean. Would recommend for a break from driving.
Great place to go for a walk or picnic, see the Buffalo see the elk, take your dog. Beautiful walk
This is a great place for walking and forgetting about the city all around you. Convenient location and Bison, Deer and Moose are available for viewing on occasion. If you are not familiar with wildlife, keep your distance! Moose can be very dangerous!
Stop you wont be disappointed
I love this place
Nice rest aera stop stretch your legs n check out the buffaloes YES THEY GOT BUFFALOES love the huge american flag clean bathrooms theese guys try
We just went looked around didnt really fish but its a nice area and I enjoy going there I just havent finished it before we were just looking but its a nice area
Whats not to like? Buffalo, walking paths, playgrounds, free dump and fill station, visitors center, free internet, a river, clean bathrooms, nice picnic areas, and always clean and neat. My only complaint is that drinking and cleaning water was hard to find. I just hope Evanston comes to its sensed and doesnt ruin it by putting a detention center next to it.
Great place to escape the suffocating chaos of the overly crowded downtown.. the walking trails and bbq pits provide great birthday memories for all my kids.. closest thing to the mountains we have
Great little hide-away for some paved and unpacked nature trails.
Beautiful park, sweet looking Elk!!!!
Nice break from A long drive. Clean bathrooms are nice.
Nice & clean
Nice place to stretch and see buffalo.
Really nice park and museum. Great displays and live bison roam around the buildings.
