Family fun. Great hiking. Beautiful views. Paddle boat on the water. Fishing. Awesome for picnics and birthdays. $5 to get in on weekends and holidays. Worth it! Always cleaned and maintained well.

This lake and surrounding campsites and recreational areas are great for being almost in the city of Escondido. They have boats to rent, you can fish, hike the trails and so much more.Worth it to explore and see for yourself.

Beautiful place but you cant swim in the lake

Awesome place to have a picnic or birthday party! They have spaces you can reserve for a very reasonable price compared to many of the other parks in North County. The reservation areas have electric outlets and they keep the park nice and clean! Great Job Dixon Lake rangers!

Pretty lake with good picnic areas

Water in lake was the clearest ive ever seen. Not too many people. Just what i was looking for

Really pretty, good shade, friendly park staff. But, you cant get in the water. Its basically a desert with foliage around an untouchable puddle. Still, really pretty.

A nice park at low altitude in the city but away from the rat race. You feel secluded but accessible if needed.

Dixon Lake is a great place to go camping if you want to escape the city for a night, but dont have time to travel anywhere far. The rangers and staff are very friendly and respectful. They are continually patrolling to ensure rules are being followed as well as for safety, but they are never infringing. The views are great from many of the spots and they have group cites as well. The fee was around $20-30 for the night. I dont recall if they had showers but the restrooms were well maintained. No campfires (coal only), and no amplified speakers are allowed. Lots of hiking trails nearby in the Daley Ranch area. Go check it out!

The views and hikes are Great. Staff is not very friendly just working thru the motions... Maybe because their fish game is WEAK. Not MUCH BITE AT ALL better than wholford definitely but depends what time of day you plan to fish Early bird gets the worm! Would recommend Hodges to cstch fish ALL DAY and have a Fun time fishing, Dixon is a good hike Especially up into Daley Ranch.Play Ball, grill on built in grills or bring your own. Dont Feed the FAT SQUIRRELS LOL
