Love this place. Long walk to the end but the trails are very pretty. Plus you get a calmer side and the gulf side. LOTS of shells. This is where I always have good luck finding sand dollars. Great place to kayak to as well. Only downside is the kayak rental place located in the parking lot is hardly ever open. Last 2 times we have gone they have been closed. Today was due to high winds so I understand that. The last time I even called the number multiple times and received no answer.

Stump pass beach is one of those hard to find jewels. Because it is less well known you can still usually find a stretch of beach to yourself with only the occasional sheller walking by staring straight down looking for that still perfect specimen. The best part of the beach is at the far end near the pass itself which is a little over a mile hike from the parking lot. Of course thats why you can usually find a spot to yourself. You just need to be willing to walk a little further than the other guy.

Took the kids here over the weekend to collect sharks teeth . We found them all down the beach. Near the pass we spotted pods of dolphin fishing. The current can get strong so be careful with small children. Overall It was amazing. Highly recommend.

Very beautiful place! If you love shelling this place is a must! Walking trails are nice also.

I was so impressed by the amount of shark teeth we found! Ample parking for one price per vehicle for the entire day!!! Worth the drive! Theres also a great selection of varying types of shells! Clean restroom facilities! We walked approximately 4 miles collecting! I realized that we didnt have to go down the beach, just stand still and the gulf served up a tooth about every fourth roll of the tide!

Beautiful Beach at Stump Pass, dont walk thru the woods though as too many mosquitoes, just walk along the Beautiful uncrowded beach and swim, bring drinks. There are nice restrooms there. Hard to find parking spaces so maybe have someone drop you off and pick you up!Rent kayaks to get down to the cross section where you can get out and swim, rent at Stump Pass Rentals, only 25.00 for single, 40.00 for tandem 2 and a half hours ( add an extra hour or two on to enjoy the beauty of the cross section...worth it!)

Stump Pass is a great beach. Free parking. Englewood Beach had zero parking so we went a few miles north to Stump Pass. We witnessed a beautiful sunset. There are restroom facilities.

It was clean and maintained. It wasnt too busy and we even experienced a dolphin at sunset. Beautiful location

I really enjoyed this quaint beach. Parking is tight and ranges from $3 -$15. The lot parkers are selfish and often take up more than one parking space. There are activities in the area and restaurants within a mile. NICE!Four instead of 5 stars is die to the tight parking at the park and the outrageously unkempt lot that will damage your tires if you arent careful.

This is a great park. Beaches, walking trails, picnic tables and swim spots on the intercoastal. Plenty to explore. Get there early, parking is limited

Came here with hubby for a day of soaking up the sun, shelling, and searching for sharks teeth! Beautiful beach, very wide. Restrooms available. Pretty far if you want to walk to the inlet, tho. $3 per car parking for the day.

Intensely gorgeous sunsets, beach, birds, and water. I always get my fill of the beach when visiting here, with the clear warm water and clean, white sandy beach. When I picture the ocean (or Gulf, in this case), this is what comes to my mind. A perfect breeze winding its way through a very private, not-often-crowded space.If you’re looking for activities or provided entertainment beyond what nature has to offer, you’re not really going to find it here. This place serves as an escape and a relaxation spot - perfect on those days when the humidity seems 100% and the temps are triple digits.Driving your boat through the pass is quite amazing, too, as you might find new dolphin, manatee, or stingray friends to join you!

Stump Pass Beach State Park was great! We arrived earlier than 8 a.m., which is when the park opens, so that we would get parking. Due to COVID-19, the park is limiting the number of cars, which we felt was great because the beach wasnt crowded at all. We also walked the trail to the point and back, which is about 2.6 miles round-trip, and the trail is mostly shaded. On the trail we saw a Gopher Tortoise, a Box Turtle, and numerous little Sand Crabs. After walking the trail we spent an hour relaxing on the beach. We found a few nice shells and about 20 small shark teeth. It was a great day at Stump Pass! Hopefully you have a positive experience, too.

That was AWESOME! Walked in the sand & surf. Found a sharks tooth. Watched the cool dudes using a motorized wench to surf. Youd get 5 stars if you were a dog friendly beach.

Very tropical area with beautiful foliage. Its right on the Gulf of Mexico on one side and the canal on the other side. Great for jet skiing. The water is clean and clear, but best of all there are lots of Seashells.

Plenty of room to social distance, Bathrooms were clean. You can rent out kayaks and paddle boards I believe. On one side you have the beach. And on the other side of the parking lot there are mangroves which was a perfect spot for snorkeling! We look forward to coming back to check out the hiking trails!!!

Love this beach! Easy to get away from the crowd as the beach extends all the way to the pass. Paying the $3 parking fee is somewhat cumbersome.

Best beach around. Great place to bring your kids. You can have the ocean side with waves and shells. Or you can walk the pathway that leads to the pass and find secluded spots on the channel side. Nice place to find shells. Have been coming here since I was a kid.

We were able to find 55 sharks teeth today. Our grandkids loved it! No facilities.

A lovely alternative to the oft overcrowded Englewood beach just down the road. $3 to get in and enjoy either Lemon Bay or the gulf. FANTASTIC for sunsets! Dont miss the nature trail either.

Stump Pass is one of our favorite places to be but we were very disappointed to see that theyve blocked off so much parking even still at this point. We love to Kayak there and its a long way to go to find out theres nowhere to park. What does parking have to do with keeping us safe...I dont mind the closed facilities but come on.

Dolphins followed us down the beach for about a half mile. Fantastic! Not busy this time of year.

Great birding sanctuary, various flora, and wide and peaceful beaches on the gulf side and clear water on the bay.

Have been here several times and it is a very natural beach . walking paths through the wooded areas get you a nice view of the islands in Lemon bay and some Mangrove patches . Sharks teeth are common, and with a Shark tooth rake I also caught tons of harmless cute Mole crabs. in 2016 2 large Box crabs washed up. I assume that is uncommon but was still very cool!

This is the best beach.. had a great time... one of our main go tos when we come to town.

A great place to enjoy the beach! Nice long beach with no homes or resorts to distract from the natural beauty. The parking is tight and on this day the ranger who had everything under good control had a few of us line up as he watched for spaces to open and then park us each in order after collecting the $3 fee.

The water was gorgeous and so was the sand. Not a lot of people because its such a large stretch of beach. The parking is soooooo incredibly limited, we got there at 10:30 am and found a spot because someone was leaving! The only negative, and why I gave 4 stars, is because of the jet skis that were coming through at a high rate of speed constantly and near the swimmers AND the boats, larger ones, that were also too close to swimmers. There is no one is around to monitor this. I dont expect they really could be, just hoping no one gets hurt.

Lovely small park with walking trail that opens onto beach. Remember no dogs on beach, but ok on trail...please clean up after your pet. This is a protected area for gopher turtles. Saw people fishing too.

Awesome walk. About 2.5 round trip from parking lot to the end of the beach. Be careful in the trails wear shoes. There are very sharp thorns in the sand that fall from a plant. They hurt! First time I wore Sandels. Beautiful walk!

Went to this beach almost everyday when we were in Florida. There is limited parking, so you may have to wait in busy times. The beach is long and clean and not at all crowded. Sunsets are beautiful. The staff is very helpful and cheery. If you like collecting shells, this is the beach for you!

Best state park in florida. Just arrive early cause with 30-40parking spaces, the 8 cars in line have a very long wait. Next parking lot is 1miles away leaving a not very busy beach. The beach and trails goes 1 mile down the peninsula which makes for a great walk. The right time if year the water is clear enough to see to the bottom. Clearest near the tip at the end of the mile walk.

State park at the end of an island. Nature trail to get to the end. Beautiful beaches and not crowded. Love it!

The beach is beautiful. Lots of shells and shark teeth! 5 stars for the beach!!! The park ranger is the angriest person I have ever encountered in my life. Minutes before sunset, the moment everyone was waiting for, he drives around yelling at people on the beach to be at their car by 6. Sunset was at 5:58. I wonder why he chooses to have this job. Let’s just all admire that beautiful Florida sunset, folks. It seriously dampened our experience.

Cool shell sculpture down the road. Love shelling?, Get there early during low tide. We arrived at 6:30am before the park opened. Park opens at 8am. Posed an issue for parking though. But lots of shells and shark teeth. Even got a sand dollar. Spent about 4 hours there. Expect to walk a lot and bring your bathing suit and beach shoes. We got pictures of the super moon before sunrise. Perfect place for this.

Always a beautiful walk up and down the shore. If you would like a change of scenery or a break from the sun, the inner trails are fantastic as well.

Believe it when they say parking is at a premium. The nature trail is SOFT sand, but if exercise is your thing, thats good. Not real good birding until you round the bend on the gulf. You can rent kayaks and paddle boards if you like. Overall, a good couple of hours.

Easy access to the gulf and the intercoastal. There is a small kayak launch on the intercoastal side. Both sides are just a few minutes walk from where you park. Parking is $3 and they dont make change!

My favorite beach...just the best! Go ahead and pay the $3 to park. The parking is securely manned by a park ranger. It’s well worth it! If you’re impatient, however, you might not like the possibility that you’ll have to wait for a spot in the tiny parking lot. But those who wait will love the beautiful beach, the lovely natural trail to walk through, the Ospreys nesting on the trail and hunting food in the gulf, the Dolphins feeding in the bay down at the end and the tons of fossilized sharks teeth to find on the beach! All facilities are here including picnic benches, bathrooms and outdoor showers, canoe and kayak launch etc, etc. Everything wonderful about Florida can be seen at this state Beach!

I went on a Monday morning and the place was not too busy. There is very limited parking and it costs $3 to park dropping cash in an envelope drop box. I walked on the walking trail for a couple minutes and was swarmed by aggressive mosquitoes that were very quick to bite. I recommend caution using the trail for that reason. The beach walk was quiet and pleasant.

We lived in Florida for a few years and traveled the entire state. Out of all the beaches we have gone to this one is our absolute favorite. We always find so many beautiful shells and shark teeth. The water is always perfectly clear and you out onto the sandbar what seems like forever.

Beautiful beach! My favorite location! Parking is only $3.00 for all day. They have bathrooms and outside showers to rinse off excess sand. They have kayak rentals available there now, but I havent tried that yet. Maybe next time.

Awesome little trail to go check out full of local flora, just bring some big spray or long pants bc the trails get a little unkempt about a mile in. Also, beware of taped off local wildlife nests.

There could be a wait time for parking but Its usually not too long. The hiking trail is 1.3 miles and entrance to the park is $3 per car. Although there are boats all over they dont pay. There are picnic tables through out.
