Amazing location, directly on the beach. The rooms are huge and spotless. The kitchen has all you need. We enjoyed sitting outside and watching our kids playing on the beach. You could walk to some beach restaurants or take a gulf cart for tips....so cool.The new owners are easy to work with and very friendly - we got a complimentary late check out and will definitely be back !

We were on unit 5. This was a perfect little place for my family of 5. One of our children stayed on the couch (not a pull out sofa) so next time we will bring an air mattress for him. Kitchen had everything you need except for oven mitts and an ice maker. So nice to have beach towels, chairs and an umbrella to bring down to the beach so you can completely enjoy yourselves. Also supplied was a body board and little floats. The water was clear and although in the 70s it was the perfect way to cool off. Excellent price and location. My husband and I walked the beach and ended up crossing over the street to a local bar/restaurant and had a blast. Oh and the dolphins were swimming so close to the shoreIt was a wonderful experience and we will be back!

My family stayed at The Island House last November and loved it. We were very much looking forward to returning this year and most likely every Fall. But they changed the pet policy. Now we can no longer stay here.We have a 15 year old lab who is too old to be boarded, she has to go everywhere with us.Very disappointed.To reply to the owners response, I did not leave a bad review. The property was great, location was great. We thoroughly enjoyed it even if it was pretty difficult getting in contact with the property management while we were there. But the policy changes mean that we will not be returning guests, unfortunately. Your property was highly recommended on many different pet friendly websites such as Bring Fido with outstanding and grateful reviews from pet owners. I wish you all the luck with the new management and policies, but we will have to take our extremely quiet, friendly, and geriatric pup somewhere else.

We stayed in Room 1, Gulf front. Everything was perfect!!! Apt was Super clean, and had all the essentials. The view is beautiful, and easy access to the beach. It’s the perfect place if your looking for a quiet and peaceful vacay. There is a porch with table and chairs where you can enjoy your coffee and or meals. Dana, Cristina and Nina were very pleasant, professional and helpful. Looking fwd to our next getaway at the Island House

My clients wish was to have the master bedroom birthday surprise, ready with balloon decor when his girlfriend arrived at Island House. He could imagine her opening the door to the bedroom and seeing the cheerful balloon decor. Without Nina and Christinas help, accomplishing his vision would never have been possible. Ninas care for her guest and careful timing coordination was vital in making this happen. Christians attention to detail is impressive. Christina made sure the AC vent and Fan wouldnt turn the balloon decor into a tornado mess by closing the vent a bit and turning the ceiling fan off at the central fixture. As a small business owner to have this much support from another business means the world to me! Thank you so much for helping make my clients vision come true and supporting a fellow small business. I cant wait to book my next vacation with Island House.

While the proximity to the beach was a plus and the accommodations were adequate, there was absolutely NO communication with the facility!! None of our emails, text messages or phone calls were answered until the day AFTER we were to check in. IF it wasnt for the lovely couple in Apt. 2 that we knocked on the door of, who told us what their code was to try, our families, including children, would have been without accommodations. Luckily it worked. When I finally spoke to the owner at 3pm the following day (not first thing in the morning, although I called every half hour) he didnt seem to grasp the severity of the situation and offered no type of compensation or sincere apology. They did say they were going to call the couple in Apt 2 and thank them and make all the calls for the upcoming weekend to make sure they have the codes, but again, nothing to remedy the situation we were forced to go through because of their lack of communication, but they had no problem drafting our account for the final payment the day before our arrival, so why not call or return my emails then? Not sure how you run a business like this.....

This is a great place to stay right on the beach! The manager, Christina, was so accommodating and keeps everything so clean. I would definitely recommend staying here! Beautiful sunsets and lots of shells!

Wonderful place to stay. Close to the beach... I mean steps away. Comfortable and clean. Friendly people from start to finish. Barby was so pleasant to speak to and helpful. The cleaning lady, Christina was very hospitable. Ive been here a few times and will certainly be back.

Beautiful place, amazingly clean, everything you need from towels, shampoo, body wash, bath towel, beach towels, hand towels, and kitchen is FULLY equipped. Definitely be back.

This is the second time I stay at this hotel and it definitely won’t be the last. I find this to be such a relaxing place to stay! The rooms are spotless, the customer service is Amazzzzzzing! On the phone Barby makes you feel welcomed and makes sure that everything with the stay is smooth and truly enjoyable. My family and I will be returning for Spring Break with out of town guests. Horrible communication and responsiveness from the company. My parents booked a vacation last year, which was canceled due to inclement weather conditions (this part of Florida was being evacuated). The management, (Joe Hyer was the person we dealt with last year) kept deposit of $425 to be used by the end of August. I personally have made multiple attempts to contact the property By email and phone (left messages) and no response back. So be aware. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this place.

Great location, right on the beach, just a few steps from the waters edge. Spectacular sunsets, wildlife, hunting for sharks teeth. Very clean and well designed living room and bedrooms. Marylin was very nice and friendly.

I was saddened by the management. Sent them an email and never got a response. Was a beautiful place and the lodging was right on the beach. It would have been awesome if the A/C would have worked. We thought they were going to move us the second night if the air did not get fixed but they did not. We suffered through it but it would have been better sleep with air.

Stayed here in July 2019. I absolutely love this hotel. It is close to the beach. I loved seeing the baby sea turtles hatch. This beach is quiet and private. I recommend this hotel to all.

Its been a wonderful experience! The and I came here. To remove ourselves from the stress of hurricane Dorian. We have already made some wonderful memories

I cant recommended this place enough, just on the beach access and privacy alone this place is a hidden jewel. The apartments are very well setup and comfortable

Easy to check in, recently renovated, new appliances and furniture, sparkling clean, free parking, only steps from the beach, walking distance to restaurants. This review is for unit #5.Call the property BEFORE you arrive to get a key pad code to get the key. Apartment was sparkling clean, kitchen equipped with enough pots and pans, silverware, etc to cook basic meals plus dinnerware and glassware. Also toaster, coffee maker and very basic condiments, dish detergent and soap.Bathroom has towels, soap and hand soap. 1 bedroom with a king bed and the other with 2 twins plus a roll away bed inside the closet.Living room has a full size sofa, rocker chair, tables and lamps and a decent flat screen tv with basic comcast HD tv service.Free and fast WiFi.Unit equipped with central a/c and ceiling fans on each room.There are also 2 beach chairs on each bedroom plus a beach umbrella.The apartment has been fully renovated recently, everything is sparkling clean and in excellent condition. The beach is right on the back yard.This is not a hotel room and it has basic supplies for only a few days. Make sure that you bring additional supplies if your stay is long. There are supermarkets only 5 minutes from the property.

Super clean, large, amazing view. Now, after completing our visit of four days, we can only add the high praise for this location. The manager (Marianne) was a delight to talk with, and very helpful. The sunsets are to live for!

Love the location and this is second stay at this spot. However, the manager and staff do not communicate regarding reservation. Amenities listed on website and on location do no exist. Rules regarding reservation/refunds not listed on site. Multiple calls go unanswered. Wont stay there again

From a nautical motif, which was clean spacious; being able to walk right out and be on the sand in front of a beautiful beach and having all things handled professionally by Christina made our visit a relaxing experience.

We stayed in apartment 1. The room was very spacious, very clean. The view was gorgeous. Literally right on the beach. Two bedroom with kitchen and large eat in dining room. Furniture was new.

Island House is a great place to spend a few days at the beach. This extremely well maintained hotel is located directly on the beach. My wife and I stayed there for a couple nights in November 2018. We were met by Christina and she got us settled in quickly. The room was spotless and quiet. Just steps away from a beautiful beach. We recommend this hotel to anyone interested in a great stay on a Gulf Beach at a very fair price. My wife and I manage vacation homes on St John in the USVI so we know what to look for. This place was spot on. We will certainly return.

The decors and furnishings at the Island House were exactly shown in the website. It was very beachy, updated, and clean. We were very happy with the unit.

Excellent location, very spacious and nice. Included everything you could need for the beach. Only down side is you have to clean everything. For 425.00 plus tax a night you shouldnt have to make sure the place is spotless before you leave. Some cleaning should be left for housekeeping.

Be sure to bring toilet paper and paper towels- they supply only one roll of TP. Room is adequately stocked with everything else you will need, including beach chairs and towels. It has adequate parking for friends to visit you while at the beach (this is a bonus). We will not return to this location as it wasnt great for our family. You can find plenty of sharks teeth on the beach, but if youre looking for white, sandy beaches- this is not the place. Remember, there is no pool. Facility does have charcoal grills and a small deck area with shower and foot rinse station. Rooms are VERY sandy- cant get around this We swept all the time... No rugs/carpets to help the sandy feel.

I must have died and gone to Heaven. After visiting the Island House a few years ago I said When I die and go to Heaven I want to spend my holidays at the Island House.We enjoyed our days on a quiet sunny beach, our room overlooked the crystal blue water just steps away. We just booked another week at the Island House and are counting the days until we arrive.

Me and my wife have stayed here several times and the experience was second to none you are right on the beach with private access and for the idiot that came here to look for shark teeth and said there is none on this part of the key you just dont no how to find them seeing as I found a hundred with my wife in about 6 hrs i like the fact that it is self check in, rooms are very clean and well kept, the kitchen comes fully equipped and there is a barbeque on site. If anyone says this place was bad or no good I would not trust anyword that came from there mouth or them for that matter thank you island house yall have been great to us Everytime and to Mr and Mrs board game if there so important why did you leave home without it and how dare any body blame any place or anyone else for your lack of knowledge about the red tide look up where and wh at your doing take some responsible in your life and ya clean your mess up I dont care if its $1000000 a night that gives you no excuse to be a pig or to justify your brats tearing the place up have some respect and some pride quit crying about no TV in the bed room your on vacation if you wanted 10 televisions why did you come to the beach enjoy your spouse and family for once God bless you island house

TThe receptionist, answering on a phone on March 29 was extremely rude and hangs up a phone on me when I was still talking to her! Please use somebody else, not her, somebody who can talk to people; she has very bad manners for greeting guests!

Please trust me, being steps from the beach is not worth the headache. You are literally paying just for the beach…although the cost is high do not have any expectations that this place will be nice….its a glorified motel complete with a bathroom crawling with ants, hairs left in the shower and stained linens.As if you need any other reasons not to stay??? Apparently the ac will freeze and therefore there is some lock on the ac and you can not make it lower than 75degrees…on hot summer nights in florida it doesnt work. So on top of the place being disgusting dont expect to sleep!! After all of this, when I reached out to the owner she only had excuses and even tried to blame us saying cheese its caused the infestation in the bathroom!

Awful - The place is horrendous inside. Pictures of the inside were completely different when we arrived than show on the web site. Duck tape on windows, dark and dingy, mold in bathroom and dilapidated furniture. Do not stay at this location if you are planning a trip to Englewood, FL.

Beach front property....living the Florida paradise

Great location! beautiful beach clear blue water. Tons of shells! Very good price. The owner was very warm and friendly.They had chairs, umbrellas, toys, etc to take to the beach with no extra charge. We stayed in number 5, (2 bed one bath) and it has lots of sleeping accommodations. Couches were moist but I guess it was because the weather was humid and the windows were opened when we arrived.We had to cover them with our blankets.Free wireless internet.If you idea of 5 stars is the super 8, quality is similar. The building is older and pots, glasses, linens and furniture are older and worn out.They dont provide a continuous supply of toilet paper, soap, trash bags or detergent. They give you one toilet paper, trash bag, etc and after that you have to buy the rest.It is kind of like living in a middle class beach house build 50 years ago. Unless you plan at staring at the ocean from your room, there is not need to pay for an upgraded view. The beach is 15 yards form the house.You will love it because of the location but you will miss your bed and dishwasher.
