There is plenty of parking for free on nearby streets and the beach there is awesome but you must be aware of the tides because of the bluffs.

An absolutely beautiful beach! A lovely spot to view the sunset both from sea level and the cliff.Nearby parking consists of residential streets so you might need to park a few blocks away during peak hours/season.Theres a lifeguard tower near the stairs so you can trust during work hours they are keeping an eye on you. The lifeguards are also cautious of the cliff erosion and will ask people to move away from the cliff when needed.The beach access consists of a ton of stairs so it is not friendly for those with physical disabilities.

Very busy strip of beach. Overall a long, narrow strip of beach below rock ledges. Entrance is on a residential area. Easy to locate. Street parking only. Worth a visit at least once.

Its a long walk down, and a long walk back up, but its worth it. I found several beautiful seashells. And I found an area, less occupied where my husband could show off his stone skipping technique.

This place is breath taking! I happened to venture off from my route back home from San Diego Diego was not disappointed. I will have to come back on a summer day

My favorite Encinitas Beach. Lots of stairs and a good walk to moonlight beach along the bluffs during low tide.

This is a good beach when low tide, I dont recommend during high tide specially if youre just there to sit and chill

Pretty cool to see. Beach was pretty empty but very pretty and not dirty. Steps were pretty steep so not for people with wheelchairs or crutches.

One of my favorite places in North county. I lived off of Vulcan Avenue for many years love returning home even though we live in Dallas now.This is more of a locals beach and hang out. Many people use the steps for exercise and you have easy access to the beach parking is always available along Neptune which is a one way street.Many people surf this area as well you can have a nice long walk on the beach and this is a good starting and stopping point whether you want to go North or South.

Perfect beach spot for your day @ the beach! Lifeguard tower right at the bottom of the stairs plenty of sand, sun, ocean and fresh air. Nice shallow waters for a good bit so its perfect for little ones, skim boarding, boogie boarding, and surfing. Make sure to pack out what you bring with you! DONT BE A LITTER BUG!

Back in the 70s there the Stone Step Surfing contest where all competitors drank a resin cup of beer as they advanced until the finals.What a classic event for that beach is what I remember that place.

This place is method right in between some of the best beaches in the world, and allows you to walk to any of them without the bustle of a parking lot. Homeowners around here are friendly, but wise, and have kept their neighborhood clean and lovely.

I almost feel nervous sharing how amazing this spot is. it is really low key, almost zero tourist know about it, walking distance for local community just north of moonlight beach but youd think you were on another planet. quiet, sirene, great stair case down for exercise. awesome view, cool art cant go wrong. this is my favorite spot to walk and find sea shells. there is also a seal who body surfs waves if you lookout from above the stairs!

Stonesteps is one of those truly magical beaches in Encinitas. The stairway leading down to the beach is not for the faint of heart and the route backup isnt for people who are grossly out of shape. The beach itself just north of Moonlight Beach, is fairly narrow and at high tide you will most likely not find much Beach at all. The Bluffs here are beautiful and provide a Quick Escape from awareness that youre in the middle of a major metropolitan area.

Hidden gem in Leucadia.

This is a great and little known beach access in North County San Diego. Of course you have to be willing to walk down then back up the 130 steps, so it may not be for everyone. Popular with locals and those in the know. Usually sandy and relatively secluded and uncrowded beach.

Super secret place so dont tell anybody about it. I lived in leucadia decades ago and is course I still have a soft spot for this special place. We got out of the car and the ocean smell hit me. I forgot how much I miss that. Beautiful place and great access to the beach. Love it
