Kinda sad when people working are more interested in stocking shelves then the customers theyre doing the stocking for. Also, if you are out of elastic (the kind for making masks) say so, dont send me to aisle 68 when you know you are out. I asked yet another person thinking Im lame cant find it. So this person just points and I had to ask her to show me. She shows me swimsuit strap cordage. Is that elastic or stretchy piping? Cmon ladies- neither is true customer service. I was polite so this must be the norm.

There are some awesome sales going on right now and a lot of their spring merchandise is 70% off. This particular store is okay, the staff was not attentive and the gal checking us out was a bit rude and very unhelpful when we asked a simple question. Besides that, this is a run-of-the-mill Michael’s.

Great place to get craft supplies

Whoever worked the customer service counter on 6/24 for the first part of the day, should not be working in customer service at all. What bothered me the most, is how pleasant she was with the person she helped right before me then once I got up to the counter, I was treated like garbage. I didn’t do anything wrong. It really upset me. And then when I confronted her about her poor lack of customer service skills, she gave me some weird excuse that honestly, I can’t even remember! Anyway, that whole experience left such a bad taste in my mouth. I won’t be returning to this location.

Was not given the 20%off on all regular priced items. Staff was not very friendly nor helpful. Air supply in the store was not flowing appropriately. I got out of there out of breath and sweating from the heat. It had nothing to do with the face mask! Will not comeback any time soon to this Encinitas store, thats for sure!!

The service was good. The selection of professional #3 acrylic paints was limited with many of the key colors out of stock. I was in the store exactly a week ago and same situation was taking place. One would have assumed restocking would have taken place by now knowing there is currently a 50% sale on paints, buy one get 2nd at 50%. Frustrating. I have been loyal to this location since they opened and would rather not shop elsewhere but if I continue not being able to acquire the paints I need, I will have to look into other options.

I found this store neat, tidy, clean, and the workers friendly - even right AFTER Christmas! Yes, it had just endured the post-Christmas mayhem, but those dear workers did an amazing job of still keeping it in tip-top shape!

I am very disappointed in the lack of urgency with these workers at the Encinitas location. Y’all have all day. What are you doing in there that keeps my online order for store pick up not available to pick up 2 days after i have purchased it? when it clearly states on your website that if you order BEFORE 3 YOU GET IT SAME DAY. i’ve called. i’ve gone to the store and i’ve watched the same lady bring out one bag every 15-20 minutes. My questions is what the hell are y’all doing behind closed doors giving mani pedis ? I shouldn’t have to wait 3 days for an in store pick up. if i wanted to wait i would’ve ordered it directly to my house. For F sake a blind mind could put 3 things in a bag faster than you can.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff helped me find leather dye and quoted a frame for some art work. I hadnt known that Aaron Bros frame shops are now integrated into all Michaels stores.

Advertised buy one get one free for every frame except clearance items. Not true. I remember Kmart doing this type of advertising. We all know what happened to them.

Love this place BUT. There prices are 2x higher than every else, however they always have a 30% or 40% off coupon, which brings their prices to almost normal. (but coupon is good for only 1 item, so if you need two or more items then youre paying stupid prices)

Love Brigette in the framing dept. I always try to time my projects when shes there. Everyone else is really nice, but, theyre not all trained in the craft that youre looking for.

Helpful and friendly staff, good prices and every isle full of ideas for projespcts. I wanted little sleigh bells and the had two sizes and multiple colors.

This Michaels has been here for ages but is kept clean, well organized, and well stocked. Staff know the store well so if you cant find something, just ask. Theyll more than likely point you right at it.

I like Michaels but the Encinitas store is so stuffed full it stresses me out. I left and went to La Costa Michaels, also full but more organized.

You can count on Michaels to have all the craft items you need. Dont forget they also have picture frames. Even though they may not have the biggest square footage, you can count on them to be open on Sunday. Not naming any names because I like the competitor store as well.

Great store. It has really improved over the past year or so. Plus, the people seem so much nicer and better informed. I dont usually shop the baking section but needed gift bags for my home made breads and granola. I was really surprised by the amount of cooking and baking supplies on hand. I did purchase 4 of the small ceramic loaf pans and have used them. I think my breads came out better in them than the disposable aluminum pans I normally use. I will buy some more. Easy to clean. Threw them in the dishwasher. Super! Tons of holiday decorating supplies. Bonus! The lady checking me out, actually knew how to use my cell phone for my coupons. I came into michaels today looking for something specific and walked around for TWENTY minutes and could not find one employee to help me. I waited in line to ask a question and then the lady left to help someone else. Extremely understaffed I left without buying what I needed as no one seemed available.

Store has organized and revitalization its atmosphere! I had quick visit It has great selection of paper and beads!!!I was looking for jar glasses and glass tubes with corks. A very competent worker knew exactly where they were and directed me to the shelf. Glass tubes were hiding in plain sight where I looked passed earlier!God bless you all! Michaels has pretty much everything you are looking for, but It is always a line that you need to be before you leave..l bought a couple frames and Bubles sticks sure I like.

They did not have the stalk that was indicated when I checked online. There were only two cashiers and they were very nice but the customers were horrible absolutely horrible to them demanding things from them that they were unable to do and not accepting the answers that the cashiers gave them I dislike this store mostly because of the other customers. Plus there is a lack of employees on the floor to answer questions.

Good place for craft materials but NO public bathroom! Probably they are not willing to share.

Art framing disaster be warned! If I could rate zero I would. We took a very expensive large painting to have the canvas stretched and framed, in short they did a terrible job, the canvas has wrinkles and the overall quality of work of the framing is terrible after paying almost a grand for the framing. So bad in fact we took it to a professional framing store to have it redone as we couldn’t take the chance of taking it back to Michaels to have it corrected for fear the piece would be completely ruined. Not to mention Michaels delay in getting the material with poor followup and service. Ultimately in retrospect I should have taken it to a professional framer the first time, I should have known better so learn from my mistake.

We waited for a very long time at the check-out line. The cashier was very helpful but she also had to answer the phone and decided to help the person on the phone first than those of us who have been waiting for at least 20 minutes. There were only 3 people in line. its also difficult to find any employee when we needed assistance. Although, most of them, once you find them, were very helpful and friendly.

I think this is a fairly typical Michaels location. Compared to some others it seems a bit down market. Its a reliable source for basic craft supplies. Sadly, it seems to have gone downhill in the past few years.

Went for custom framing. The staff person was extremely attentive, and spent a long time with us making sure we got a product wed love, all while juggling multiple customers.

Nice work framing 2 pictures on canvas. Provided advice and avoided us from making a terrible mistake with the pictures if we had tried on our own.

Very crowded, felt claustrophobic!!! The isles are so small, only one person can comfortably walk in the isles. Pretty pricey too. Bought nothing! Wont be back!

Ive been coming to this Michaels for basically forever, it reminds me of when I was younger and would come in with my mom.The store feels pretty cramped when you walk in, and sometimes it feels like a visual overload. I know they have been working on revamping the front entrance so that its more spacious and not so visually overwhelming.There have been numerous occasions that I have come in to purchase an item in mind, and have experienced long waits for check-out. Usually a line of at least six customers in front of me, not including customers already at the open check-out stands.Sometimes it is hard to find a store employee to ask for help in finding an item or to ask any question in general.Other than that, it is a good store and sometimes has products that I cant find at the newly opened La Costa Town Square Michaels Arts & Crafts store.

Consistently the worst customer service of any store in CA. the past 20 years. There are 18 people in line in front of me, 9 behind and 2 registers open. Its been like this for years. The Clairemont Mesa one also has horrible service!! They block wifi so you cant access Michaels coupons in the store.

I do not go to Michaels often, so I cannot compare to other Michaels. I had trouble finding one of the things I was looking for, and the person I asked was really helpful. At checkout, the person who helped me was also very nice. I found everything I went looking for, but if I were to have a complaint it would be the organization (seemed unintuitive).
