Even though the arts council is following Covid guidelines, there is plenty of information on their Facebook page as well as on the website. There is also a little free library out in front that currently has a variety of books available.
Great little gallery promoting and encouraging local artists. All of down town has been redone to promote art, from the sculptures to the stores and is worth a walk. The building itself is fun, hardwood floors and gorgeous, airy space. Be sure and walk around the outside of the building too!
Variety of original art at reasonable or even cheaply priced art! Awesome local artist! December is best time to get gifts especially there as theyre highly supportive of artist having more than usual on display with awesome price points!
Cecil County Arts Council, located in Elkton, Maryland, is housed in a lovely old mansion. The staff are friendly, there is free parking in the back, and theres a stair climber to get you to the second floor. Elkton, like the Art Gallery is adorable. If youre looking for a painting below $100 for over the sofa, you can find one here. You might also discover something really exciting. Its a mix of professional, amateur, and in~between. While youre there, stop into the rooms on the left of the entrance. Youll find fascinating Civil War costumes and accoutrements. The clothing is the real thing. This gallery is a sweet way to pass an hour, plus you can pet the Lhassa Apso (sp?) who works in the office.
