What a great hotel this is in Elko, Nevada. The front desk agent, Myron, who answered when I called to book my reservation, couldn’t have been any nicer. I was specifically looking for a hotel with an indoor hot tub and pool. Score!! They have both and there open 24/7! Yay! They are keeping the number of guests in that area limited though due to COVID Safety Restrictions. In addition, all staff are wearing masks and it’s required of all guests. The room I was in was clean and cute. Had dinner and breakfast both at “The Ruby”, the hotel restaurant. Both meals were deliciously prepared by an attractive and personable young cook whose name slips my mind at the moment (my apologies).. Katrina, the server, was very attentive and super sweet. If you find yourself looking for a late night snack, there is a 24 hour pantry. Misty, the night auditor, will be happy to help you, even if it is 1:00 am. SHUTTERS is a GREAT PLACE to stay! I highly recommend it.
Positive: Great location and friendly staff.
Positive: pillows, bed Negative: parking
Over all it was a generic hotel room. The cost was average per night but definitely more wallet friendly options to be had in the area. Pros: they had comfortable beds and pillows. Everyone we dealt with was smiling and friendly. Quick access to all of Elko (but its a very small town) CONS: they put an additional hold on my card for almost $1000 for incidentals. We stayed on the 3rd floor and 2 consecutive mornings I found spiders on the bathroom floor. Walls are paper thin. Showers were super tiny. There was no form of housekeeping due to covid and wasnt instructed on how to handle trash or get new towels etc., And our room had a beautiful view of a... Warehouse. 2.5 stars wasnt an option so rounded up to 3.
Very cute lobby with fireplace, indoor pool, and nicely maintained grounds. They gave us each a glass of wine gratis when we arrived, a welcome treat after driving all day. Thats a first! The room was clean, typical, the air-conditioning OK although just a tad noisy. We liked it so much that we stayed again on our return. Not typically dog-friendly, they allowed our well-behaved poodle to stay. Shes trained not to bark and of course we are responsible pet owners. No trace of our dog was left behind. The only thing I would not recommend is the food. Because of COVID, it was limited and, frankly, inedible. Call out for a pizza! Otherwise, great place.
Positive: Great staff. This hotel had character
Excellent customer service. Excellent value. Clean, safe and affordable rooms. Best value in Elko, Nevada.
By far the worst hotel i have ever stayed. I checked out and moved to the red lion. There was a big stain on the comforter (pee). The lobby looked nice but the room was like motel 6.
Renovation process has just started the lobby of the pool area look great and the rooms are coming next. Staff is friendly The Price Is Awesome
This was the first and last time I will stay here. On arrival you were supposed to get a comp drink, no drink. The main light to the room blinked. One of the two lights in the bathroom blinked. No working fan in the bathroom if you happen to stink it up. Went down for bagged covid breakfast at 7:30, it was a bottle of water and a couple granola bars. Coffee in room was only decaf, coffee in lobby was water. Avoid this place!
Very clean and almost odorless.I would stay here again whenever. And yes the people are nice and pleasant.
Very clean. Nice ambiance. Friendly staff. Try to get a room on west side for view
The staff were amazing, very clean establishment with good safety measures for Covid, and rooms were good!
Very nice. Though the maid did bug us early just to see if we were checking out that day.
One star because it’s a room with a bed. The rooms are NOT remodeled. There was trash in the hallways because there is no stay over housekeeping. The doors don’t have dampeners so we were awoken beginning at 4 am to the sound of doors slamming every 5 minutes. I did tell the person at the front desk about the noise level when we checked out (and we called twice in the middle of the night due to being woken up) and her response was “you’re not the first person to say that.” Overall a pretty poor experience here.
Good service not a big variety on the menu
We stayed here for a few days – never again! The name sounds fancy, the style looks fancy, but the price should have let me know that it was in fact, not fancy! While everything seemed fine at first, we quickly realized it was not. While I understand they’re apparently not done fixing/remodeling the hotel, our stay was far from good. This is a former Hilton property, and while that wouldn’t normally be something we would notice nor care about, there were remnants from its former namesake on the dial plates for phones in the room, and I even got an email from Orbitz telling me that the “Hilton Garden Inn Elko sent you a realtime conversation notification”, really you couldn’t even change all your info properly with Orbitz? While the exterior of the hotel and lobby looked nice, that was the extent of the remodel that we saw. Our room was gross. I say that because – the carpet in our room was stained in several places, and the room had a light smell of mildew. The tub faucet leaked, and moved around because the caulking around the base at the wall was missing. The shower head was DISGUSTING! It had so much water/calcium deposits on and inside of it, that several of the holes were so clogged. The toilet seat was loose and almost came off in the middle of the night. The A/C made a loud thudding noise when we turned it on, and the front air intake cover was falling off. There was some sort of food stuck on the seat cushion of the chair. The desk had an oily residue all over it. The floor lamp behind the chair was going to fall apart if I used to much force to turn it on. The beds were uncomfortably hard, and there was a noticeable sagging of the mattresses on the side of the bed that is next to the nightstand, so they clearly haven’t been replaced in quite some time.A couple of minor inconveniences were that the ice machine on the second floor (our floor) didn’t work. We asked the front desk about it and they said it was out of order because they were waiting on a part, yet they hadn’t put up a sign indicating that it was out of order, nor was there one placed there before we left. Also, the ‘view’ out of our room was of the hotels satellite dishes, and a few a/c units on top of the lobby area. Because of COVID-19 they offered a cold version of the continental breakfast which was fine. We were told it was a juice, bottled water, two granola bars, & fruit or a muffin. However, there was no fruit, they didn’t have any juice, so it was just a bottle of warm water, & on the second day they’d run out of muffins. I get that it wasn’t a full continental breakfast because of the pandemic, but don’t say that it’s going to be certain things, and then not properly prepare to have those things in stock for paying guests during their stay. Also, on our first day when we were leaving around 9am, we walked by the business center and there was a man in there on a computer, eating and drinking. When we came back later that day around 5pm, we noticed that there was food packages and a water bottle sitting on the counter in there. Like seriously? I mean the guy should have cleaned up after himself, but you guys couldn’t get someone to clean this up?The only positive thing was that the staff were friendly, but being friendly doesn’t excuse the poor condition of the hotel, lack of proper food planning and quality of the guest experience.Overall, we weren’t expecting the Ritz or anything, but this place was a ridiculous. Until they finish their full remodel, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.
Stayed there 2 nights. I was charged 615 dollars for 2 nights. Very unprofessional manager ( Cali ). When I called to try and resolve this issue she told me she would call me back and never did. When I reached her she was very unprofessional telling me it was my problem now and I would have to wait 3 to 5 days from my C.C. holder to release my funds back onto my card. I would not stay here again and if it was my hotel Cali would not be employed by me. Stay over st the Holiday Inn Express
Pretty limited menu, but food and service were both good.
Great restaurant, friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable and clean rooms.
We have stayed here twice within the last two weeks. The rooms are clean, staff is friendly and Rubys restaurant is excellent.
Seemed to be an okay place, hard to tell now that it is no longer ger a Hilton property. Went to see the Iron Horse RV Park.... same ownership.
Beautiful, clean hotel.
Great place
Duper clean!
Negative: The king bed was super uncomfortable and deflated.
