What a neat place! Incredible art and the group working there knows so much about the area.

This place is a must. We were lucky enough to be able to make it to the gathering this year and it was literally life-changing. So much fun to see the old and new artists and participate in the amazing culture that has been developed in Elko. The Western Folklife Center has a really cool stage for performances as well as a bar for a quick drink before. The gift shop has an awesome collection of great content as well as western art. Definitely recommend making a stop and even checking out the art on the outside.

Such a great venue for entertainment during Cowboy Poetry and other times throughout the year. Beautiful old bar. Museum is wonderful with their changing exhibits. First class display. Gift shop has great, unique items for sale year round! An Elko treasure.

Im so glad I found this place while passing through Nevada. I very much enjoyed discovering the mountain of culture thats been spawned in this small town. The proprietor was incredibly friendly and eager to share the comprehensive history of the landmark. There are plenty of things to look at and souvenirs to buy! Make this a stop on your road trip.

My #1 favorite place to go in elko! Come and see the band south wind performance there at the connected pioneer saloon! You will not be disappointed.

WFC includes a beautiful bar & lounge area between the gift shop and the banquet room which is also beautiful. Many locals have held their wedding reception here, including our son and daughter-in-law. Besides the annual Cowboy Poetry Gathering, there are plenty of other activities happening frequently which are great fun.

Very cool place. Hosted a training seminar there. The staff provided ample food and was very kind. Decor is nice as well.

A historic bar with a wonderful opportunity for people watching

Good books for sale. A bar. Sure the usual jerks now and then but overall its okay.

Great place to hang out during the gathering. Sales staff were very knowledgeable about the event and the bartender was a blast. Seating for the show was comfortable and the sound was good. Had a great time.

Rustic, well-kept, and welcoming, and excellent art displays. I was there for a film festival, catered by Double Dice RV. They serve tasty homemade tartar sauce!

What an amazing place. So much information about the culture of the American west. Must stop if you are driving along I-80. Learned a lot about the city of Elko as well.

Interesting to walk through on a random day

Very unprofessional staff in charge of renting out the theater rooms. Tried to reserve the theater for almost a month (27 days) of having most of my emails ignored for days and having to send two emails before a reply (sent 13 total) just to be told that even though i plainly said i wanted to rent the venue and to please tell me how FIVE times im finally told, after waiting NINE days and sending two more emails that they rented out the room that day. THEN lied and said they sent me an email telling me so. They sent no such email.And before the emails i had left 3 or 4 voicemails over a space of two weeks asking to please contact me so i could reserve the venue.At least with email the was eventually a response. Teddi isnt the best fit for that position.

They have a small museum on the first floor that has exhibits on the annual Cowboy Poetry Gathering.

Wonderful history and exhibits

A great community organization and event venue. They host the annual National Cowboy Poetry Gathering-a bucket list event. They host jam sessions the second Wednesday of the month and social dance classes the second and fourth Thursday of the month among other events.

Interesting place. Has cool gifts.
