Wellfield Botanic Gardens

Took our kiddos for the Christmas lights and it was great! It was so clean, organized and beautiful! We all enjoyed it. The staff was so friendly and they had fire pits throughout and places to take pictures and music, parking wasn’t horrible and it was just a fun time to get out and enjoy the holiday season and the outdoors. Hope to do it again next year.

If you want a breathtaking stroll through nature I highly recommend Wellfield Gardens. I refer to this place as my sanctuary. Fitting for personal time to yourself or check out the amazing community events they host. I highly recommend an annual membership as it is extremely affordable especially if youre planning on participating in events or have a family. The membership also gets you in other Michiana botanical gardens and across the country.

Gorgeous urban oasis. This is a great place to go for a stroll, appreciate the awesome beauty of nature and really feel like youve gotten away (but youre still in the middle of a city). There are many places to sit for a bit. They have great events, and there are few things better than enjoying one of their Thursday night concerts in the summer.

Some of us dont have what it takes to make a nice garden where we live. Maybe we just dont have the yard or the green thumb. This botanical garden allows you to experience what itd be like to have a really nice garden for a little bit.

A real life fairytale that leaves nothing to the imagination because if you have the imagination to imagine, this place has it every corner, every nook, every cranny has something magical I was there for two hours and I havent seen the whole place I cant wait for my kids to get off school because I will definitely be bringing them back just a wonderful place!

Lots of beautiful gardens with lots of beautiful landscaping. The childrens garden is my younger brothers favorite area, and its easy to understand why. Theres a sand box, a large water feature to play in, a tree house, tasty plants for eating, and many nooks and crannies to explore. Personally, my favorite gardens are the waterfall garden and the Japanese garden. I cant wait to see what they do next!

Surprisingly gorgeous retreat I the middle of the industrial part of town. Very sweet staff.

The holiday light show is quite good, well worth the admission. I will come again this season to see it with snow...I hope . I would also like to see it in spring, it should be lovely.

When youre looking for the most beautiful and relaxing atmosphere, look no further. Its never the same view, always changing as the season makes it change. Make sure you have a camera . A pictures worth a thousand words. The flowers, displays and never ending hard work keep this as Elkharts # ONE attraction. Thank You All

We have been coming to Wellfield Gardens every year for the past several years and are so impressed with all of the improvements that are continually being made. This year was no exception, all of the gardens were beautiful! Many thanks to those volunteer and paid employees who maintain the gardens. What a treasure for Elkhart! We have one request, it would be wonderful if the garden could open for some cooler early morning or evening hours during the summer. It currently is open from 12-6 which is the hottest time of day. Thanks for considering!

The wellfield gardens is a great place to walk around fall wheater

Be aware, you are REQUIRED to wear a mask, not a shirt pulled over your face, to enter. The entryway is the only structure that is indoors and is only about 10 feet long to walk through with a required mask. If you do not have a mask, they will sell you one for a dollar. In summary, you are REQUIRED to wear an actual mask to walk about 10 feet and then you can take it off once clear of the entry admission building.Also, no matter the dollar amount spent on admission, receipts will not be provided. I have no idea how or why a printer of some sort is non existent in the year 2020. Credit card processing allowed, just with no receipt of your purchase other than an amount written on the back of a business card if you request some sort of proof of charge.

Most beautiful place in Elkhart. A variety of well-curated greenery, wildlife, coupled with regular events make this a wonderful destination. Bring your date here

Beautiful location to visit and spend some time. Really disappointed that it closes so early with3+ hrs of daylight left. Makes it very difficult to get there during the week. More lower cost events.

Went for the Christmas light display and it was enjoyable.

Loved, loved, loved this place. We were lucky enough to find the McDonalds play area up the road closed for renovations, otherwise wed never have looked for an alternative for the kids to get their energy out. The park is free to meander and closes at 7pm. The gigantic wind chimes hanging from the trees along with with geese, swans and ducks hanging around bring a tranquil feeling to this place. I loved the painted elk statues as you walk into the park and all the beautiful Bridges, gazebos and pergolas. This would be a fantastic place to take professional photos for a number of occasions. Two places were under construction to add to the beauty of the park. One was a childrens discovery park. Im excited for it to be finished so I can take my kids next time we travel through Indiana. We spent 2 hours here without knowing it. What a beautiful stop. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed the little monsters in the garden event, it was really nice for pictures.

A wonderful peaceful place to come and enjoy nature in the middle of the city. Beautiful flowers and trees with relaxing waterfalls and fountains. They also have a neat section for children to play in and see nature at the same time. There is a small cost to get in but is well worth the money plus it all goes back to support the park.

I cant say enough great things about this place. Its obvious they are passionate about what they do, and their attention to detail shows. The grounds are well kept, and they have interactive exhibits. The strawberries were so delicious, I might have had a full serving of fruit right there. So, healthy too, and, with walking being some of the best exercise, you can have a little workout while taking in the beauty of the gardens. I was impressed by the natural stonework and masonry, and its obvious a lot of thought went into the exhibits. The wind chimes and mobiles were lovely, and there were plenty of spots to sit and relax. Some areas are highly maintained, while others have a more wild feel. Yoga classes, and concerts occur on a regular basis during the summer, and improvements are constantly being made. They also sell plants, indiginous to the area, at more than reasonable rates. I look forward to returning in the near future.

One of the best value botanical gardens youll ever go to. Absolutely stunning

Beautiful park but admission is $8 and a leisurely stroll took less than an hour to see everything and sit and relax among the gardens.

My mom and i were in town, beautiful gardens. Only bad thing was weather was very cold that day. Teens were out there getting their prom pics done.

Its so lovely. The plants and greenery are spectacular. You would never guess youre in downtown Elkhart. Once you enter the gardens, it transports you to a place of peace and serenity.

Worth seeking out, even though it is medium-size. The Island Garden alone, with its Japanese design, is worth the price of admission

Friendly, informative, lots of nice books on butterflies, & gardening. Classes available on beekeeping. Reciprocal membership with other similar gardens (as the one in Hershey Park in Pennsylvania) That would pay for your admittance; or, its free on Tuesdays here. Pleasant bathrooms. Check hours, online. IDK if you can do weddings here, but looks like a great place for one.

This place is fantastic! The gardens were so much fun to walk around and and there is so much to see. The variety of plants is staggering. There were many things Ive never seen before and the landskape design was gorgeous! Definitely check this place out. I came from Plymouth and it was worth the drive.

Ive only ever been here in the winter when they have the christmas lights (really nice btw) but a whole nother experience in the spring!Just beautiful and theres plenty of things to see and do. If youve got kids, theres even a neat childrens garden thats got a tree house and everything.Looks like theyre adding a whole bunch of stuff too! Reminds me of a smaller (closer!) Meijer gardens.Cant wait to go back

HUGE beautifully landscaped gardens, plenty of seating all over, the flowers, the art work, the set up is just perfect... A good 3 hours to explore fully...

Absolutely gorgeous botanical garden in little ol Elkhart! I live 5 minutes away and never knew how much work had been put into renovating this area. And how much they are still planning to add (hopefully the Japanese garden will be done soon).The childrens area is finished and looks great! Beautiful place to take family autumn pictures. Loved it so much that I got a membership and will definitely be back this autumn and during the winter to see the Winter/Holiday lights.

The gardens were beautiful, with so much color and variety. The water features were all amazing with waterfalls and ponds. More than we expected!

Our walk through the gardens was much more pleasant than I anticipated. I have driven past this place for many years and never knew it existed. The natural landscape is beautiful bettered by a feeling of hometown authenticity. My exact words were we do have nice things in Elkhart.

Even though we just missed the peak of the tulip season, the gardens walk was enjoying, quiet and breezy. The other visitors when engaged were open, relaxed and friendly. The sun lit the lake, rocks, trees and flowers for fun photos. The woman in the office kindly used our camera to take a photo of us 4 siblings. Enjoyed the morning meander before lunch.

Their winter wonderland is so pretty. This place is gorgeous all year round.

Always an enjoyable time. Ive been here for a couple events, they have been well organized and worth the entrance fee. I suggest buying your ticket ahead of time online.

Never heard of this place before but was very happy that I made a little trip over to see it! Very peaceful and I love the addition of the Japanese Garden!

Great family nature experience. Beautiful gardens, natural flowing water, sculptures, music, holiday lights and so much more. Be sure to visit frequently to soak up all this community gem has to impart to every soul that walks within this magical place!

Beautiful lights, magical Holiday atmosphere. Met so many friends while walking the path. You have to see this in person to catch the Holiday magic feeling it provides. There is wonderful hot cocoa too!

Went for an after hours work function. It was pretty, but it was the middle of Dec so it was cold. I think it was nice, but the walks were icy and I thought there would be more lights.

Worst detour Ive ever been on! Avoid at all costs, Very Very far from the main high way to Cleveland. Impossible entrance to find infact SO hard we had to give up after an HOUR of circling the gates. I wish I could give it less than one star but I cant. I feel sorry for anyone who has to live here.

Unbelievably beautiful. Worth visiting regularly as new plants and amenities are appearing all the time. Like the new childrens garden donated by the Martins. Besides the tree house platforms it has a huge sandbox and water canons in an idyllic setting. Even adults like it. The place is stunning. Perfect for outdoor weddings, strolls with ones lover, and contemplative times amid relaxing beauty. Go. Soon.

Wellfield Gardens is a magical place. If you like earth at its best take a stroll along the waterways, rock abutments, and enticing hidden plant scapes!

A must stop if your into botanic gardens. Paved walkways through well kept gardens. I was there for a fundraiser day, pricey and crowded. But Would be very relaxing place on another day

What a beautiful garden! It was lovely. The five year old with us loved the activities in the Childrens garden, too. We completely enjoyed walking through the gardens.

This is a beautiful place to take a walk, relax and unwind. They are currently going through some renovations (12/5/19) and I cant wait to see them completed.

My nephew and I went to the Wellfield Botanic Garden for their Winter Wonderland Holiday Lights event, and this year was even better than last year. The fire pits, the Christmas carols, the hot chocolate, the cookies, the beautiful Christmas trees, and the lights made it a perfect evening for the both of us. The staff members and volunteers were friendly and very helpful. Parking and checking in for tickets went very quickly and smoothly. I would definitely recommend this event for others and I plan to return back again next year. It also makes me want to return again during the spring and summer, when flowers and plants are in bloom.

A beautiful botanical garden with plenty of walking room (and more importantly for me plenty of PokeStops). The variety of plants and settings and the enormous spaces means you are able to bring kids and avoid them disturbing horticulture fans or those looking for a relaxing afternoon. Weve gone twice in three days, first to visit it and a second time just to relax.

Very beautiful lighting. Weve been trying to get there for the last couple years and just have not made it but we finally got there this year. Were going to try to go back when its covered in snow because it would be even more beautiful. I love the fact that they support local charities with proceeds and that they have music and live caroling. Great experience. The husband and I both enjoyed it very much

My boys and I traveled down to see my mother in Elkhart, and my mom had mentioned this, so we decided to go. Was a very pleasant experience, my boys had a lot of fun. Very nice!

The detail in all of the exhibits, is like canvas painted artwork out of flowers! We enjoyed our visit, we enjoyed the staff and we are very proud to be a part of the city that has wonderful garden!!
