Five Star Dive Bar

Just had lunch there with the hubby. Daily special was a grilled cheese with pulled pork inside. Perfectly grilled and the fries were hot, quite crisp, and flavorful. It was exactly what it should have been. Hubby had a Zombie Dust with it (as we can not at this time get his Yuengling here) and I had a diet Coke. It all meshed well together with groovy 80s music playing in the background (and not too loudly). Telescreens had on some blooper footage but what can I say- my lunch companion was too engaging for that to be of any interest.Honestly this is a small, almost hidden gem, in downtown Elkhart. It meshes well with the other small, boutique businesses and made a lovely end to a walk along the river. 10/10

Try the mogos! The rest of the food is good too.. there is usually a good live band in there too

Went to a dinner and comedy show at Five Star Dive Bar. My wife and I enjoyed the evening. Great entertainment. The food was ok, but for $20 a head you cant beat it!

Stopped in on a Sunday, had a few cocktails and a cheese burger with mojos. Service was great, it was just her and the cook and they did a great job. Nice place to stop on a Sunday afternoon and watch a little football.

Hands down one of thee best places to eat and socialize in Elkhart! The owners are absolutely wonderful and down to earth! The atmosphere of this dive bar is a whole vibe in itself

The Five Star Dive Bar is housed in an old movie theater. It serves bar food in a family-friendly setup. This is a great place to go with a group of friends.

Mushrooms are the best I ever had in my life! August 18th AM, I stopped in for my first (takeout) order of mushrooms. Admired how the attendent was kind regardless of many tables she was hosting. My takeout order was provided promptly with a smile. Five Star Dive Bar displayed a humanity that enhanced my day.

Pretty cool venue. Set in the old movie theater downtown. Live events, Arcade room, outdoor patio with small stage and string lights. Our waitress was really nice and helpful...

Well, it is a dive bar. The food was very good. They turned the lights down low at about 5:30 which was weird since there is no natural light coming in. Not sure if they were trying to hide the looks of the food. Weird local guy at the bar trying to chat people up, just smile and shake your head...

Id give zero stars if possible. We gave them financing for their business. The owner, Jason, made us believe he was a good guy just trying to make a great business out of nothing. He was doing great but now just wont return our calls for payment. Im not sure why this happened. Everything was so good. I hope the business survives, and we can get some of our money back from Jason. Seems like everyone really likes this place. But I cant recommend people going to an establishment that wont pay their bills.

Party of 4 after Ladies Night in Elkhart. My grand daughter was one of us.Had the 2 appetizers with $2.00 off deal. My daughter did have to ask about the deal, but it was quickly given. We had the mozzarella cheese sticks and pretzels with beer cheese. Very good, served hot. They were sort of busy. We will be back with my crew of 13 for some appetizer sampling and some beer. Great addition to Elkhart! Close to the Lerner. Family room open till 9, then they convert to a bar and dance bar, so my older kids and I will come back to check that out as well.:)

I enjoy the live music. I dont drink so its nice to have live bands playing around town. I am a musician myself and really just enjoy being able to socialize and hear the local vibe.

There tacos are really good, they have a really chill old-school sorta vibe, its a cool place to check out

Went on feb.14 and had a great time! Worth every penny! The comedy was on point as well as the food and music afterward. I love this place! Plan on going back definitely.

Good points: Place is always busy. Fun to hang out & have a few drinks. Friendly people & good variety of drinks. Like the outdoor space in the back & dont forget to check out the downstairs room. Bad points: You have to pay cover charge before entering. You have to wait on yourself. No waitress took care of our table all night long.

I hadnt been to this place in years. The food was as good as I remembered and the beer selection was decent as well. Prices were very reasonable. Ill definitely return more frequently in the future.

Twas the day after Christmas, stomach empty and Im in downtown Elkhart. Per the waiters suggestion I got the Mozzarella sticks for an appetizer, they were huge and definitely worth trying! Also got their Hard to handle cheeseburger. It was $15, ginormous, and delicious. It had two grilled cheese sandwiches as buns and two 8oz beef patties. Very good burger. Probably 2000 calories if I had to guess, just what I wanted for a filling lunch. One hell of a cheeseburger!

Great service but understaffed! The mozzarella sticks are amazing and a decent selection of beers and liquor. Definitely a good venue to come and hang out to see live bands!

This bar has always been one of my go-to bars in Elkhart. The food is great and the nightlife is pretty good too. They are one of very few local bars open late and also they serve food late as well. The band this particular evening was The 1985, playing a boatload of the most popular 80s songs. All in all, a very great experience.

Went here before the show at the learner and had a kick @ss waitress Kelsey, she rocked it with a great smile and positive attitude about how busy it got and even cracked a few jokes. Our food took a little longer then we would of hoped for but we understood since it was pretty busy and the food was worth the wait. Even came back after the show and enjoyed some awesome live entertainment!:)

Great atmosphere! Good looking people and great live music. They have a smoking patio that is no where near the main area so no real odor permeates. Quick service even during busy hours.

Good food....try the mozzarella stix....they are hand cut, battered, deep fried cheese logs of heavenly goodness that will make your mouth happy and give your soul bliss. And the live bands on sat are fun!

We had a really good experience. Excellent and attentive staff. Food was delicious. One meal was enough to feed two people, in my opinion.

If you like mushrooms for an appetizers you have to try theirs is the bomb! You get enough for four people.

I would recommend Five Star Dive Bar for a fun night out in Elkhart anytime.... been there several times myself and had a great time... HOWEVER... I had one of the worst experiences with a waitress there during the Jazz Festival that Ive ever had. This woman wasnt just a bad waitress, she was a toxic human being. Ignored us every chance she got, walked right by us and didnt even acknowledge us while trying to flag her down several times after waiting forever for her to come back and she didnt. We sat forever before having to flag her down to take our order & she acted bugged that we were even there. When I wanted to pay and she ignored us again after waving our money around, my son finally caught her attention while she was casually socializing with someone she obviously knew... she was SO rude that I was shaking and had to leave the building. Ive never had someone in the service industry be so vial in their behavior towards me in my life... it was shocking. I am currently a bartender and have been in the industry myself for over 20 yrs. I am normally the one giving them a break when they are busy, defending them to others and rarely see anything other than a server trying to keep up. That was not the case. She was just straight out nasty. If I were the owner and I caught her speaking to a customer like she spoke to us, shed have been fired on the spot. Dont know her name but shes short, overweight, dark scraggly hair with a nose ring. I dont know what her issues are but she really needs to get out of the service industry if she cant hold it together enough to at least be civil to customers. Period.

Probably my new favorite place in Elkhart! Paul erdman was awesome and our food was great! But what really got us was how amazing our server Kelsey was. She told us she’s new to the floor but honestly seemed like she’s been doing it for years! She had a smile on her face the whole night and was the most sweetest server we have ever had. So if anyone wants great food and service five star and Kelsey is it!

Hair in our food. Service was horrible. Husband ordered a double burger didnt come with but one. Ceasar salad didnt have the chicken my daughter ordered and my sons fries had hair. Very disappointed

The burgers are great and the mound of fries is bigger than your head! A little pricey but if you go on Wednesday theyre 1/2 off!

Every time my wife and I come here, the service has been outstanding!! We love the atmosphere, and the food I think is the best around! The house smoked wings are hands down the best wings I’ve ever had.

Interesting bar, this place used to be an old movie theater and the have used the space nicely. It has nice acoustics and large main floor space. Its a fun place as the people are friendly.They have karaoke and bands on the weekend. The drinks are priced average and the food is pretty good. Go in and have a good time with your group, parking is on the street

This is a great local bar with frequent entertainment options. Families can go there for lunch and dinner and not feel out of place. There is more of a night club feel in the later evening. The food is much better than you would expect from a place such as this. My wife enjoyed a burger that she proclaimed one of the best in this area, and I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, and it was fantastic.

Good food. Service was a lottle slow but we were there to see a comedy show so we werent in a hurry. This will become a regular Friday night stop for comedy shows.

Go here for lunch a few times a week. Pam is the best bartender of all!

There are not too many entertainment options in Elkhart. My wife and I decided to try out the comedy club Friday. October 25th. Were really surprised that it was so good, the food was really good, and the after-show band was good. If you havent been there youre really missing out.

The atmosphere of this place is wonderful. I normally come here for their fried mushrooms and Mojos ( french fries). You get a ton of mushrooms and Mojos for a very low price.

We were there for aThe JLNK video game launch party (Heres Your Freakin Video Game) It was very busy but service was good, food was tasty, and it was a neat venue.

Ok now the band was good but the water tasted weird and my food was fine but took to long. Guys I’m telling you just go to My Dad’s Place it’s the best bar I’ve ever been too, trust me.
