My kids who were 5 and 7 loved this park and were entertained for a good hour. They wanted to stay longer but we had other things to do. My 10 year old was a bit bored after half an hour but then started throwing a football around in the open grassy area next to the playground. There is only one major play structure but it is pretty awesome. My 3 year old enjoyed it but he is daring because of having older siblings. I think most 3 year olds would not be comfortable playing on this. There isnt really anything for babies, either, so I would say this parks sweet spot is the 4 to 9 year old range. I loved that there was access to real bathrooms, not just a portable toilet. I would definitely bring the kiddos here again.

Loved going to the rib fest. Good vibes, great music, and delicious food. Ribs, brisket, BBQ sauce was worth it. Meat of the bone, desserts are fun to eat and enjoyable. The best part was to wash it down with a nice cold refreshing beer.

Lovely, spacious park with a great playground! We visited in November, so well have to return in summer to rate the splash pad area.

Downtown Elgin has such a nice area for kids to play. We watched the fireworks, convenient, easy and free parking. People all well behaved. Facing Grand Victoria with clouds in distance almost looks like mountains in background.

Its a really cool playground. Featuring musical instruments and really nice slides and other big toys. Love it.

As much as I like the park, its really meant for older kids. If I had known prior to going ( was invited by a friend) I wouldnt have taken my 1 year old, I spent the whole time there stopping him from trying to climb up, and even my 7 year old the one area is super sketch if they had fallen something would be broken for sure!

Even during Covid times, its full of welcoming, happy people and their children playing at the park !

It was nice and clean my daughter loved it but splash park wasnt open which doesnt make sense since the the playground was open

Enjoyed a 30 mile bike ride along the river and enjoyed a much needed rest break at Festival Park. Nice and clean and beautiful at the park.

Nice park alongside Elgin riverfront. Good place for biking. Also plenty of space for outdoor activities.

Great place to go its fun theres a small water park and the park itself. Recently thought it was renovated and someone put water on the tallest slide and people started sliding on it then people got informed and then it literally turned into a FRIKIN ATTRACTION.

Well manicured grass, trails kept clean, friendly people and fog friendly environment. Especially nice on a day sunny day like today.

Awesome area to walk by the river. There are plenty of benches and playground areas for both younger and older nature lovers.

Great park by the river, beautiful, scenic walk up and down the shore. Seemingly brand new equipment in the park that is not only unique but fun for everyone, including adults. I personally climbing the inside and enjoying the view from up high. It can be a little dangerous for children under 5, I saw two falls during my last trip there. Nothing serious but its good to be aware of. Im definitely going back. Theres also plenty of free parking and a splash pad during the warmer months as well as public bathrooms when the water is on.

There is always people asking for money

I really liked the splash pad and Park last year. Plus the water used to be on until 8pm. This year they changed the hours so the pad closes at 6pm...when it even works. There was 2 weeks we tried to visit within the new hours and it wasnt even on and the park was blocked off. I would be more understanding if there was a notice about the construction or stating why it was closed, but there was not. It was just disappointing for awhile. Then when. It was finally ”open the pumps on the pad werent working and there was only one fountain going off half way for only ten minutes. Again no notice of the citys intention to fix the issue. Another parent called the village and was told it would be a month before it worked. I have not been back since so I dont know if it operational yet. The playground was rebuilt and it just seems a bit more dangerous with steep stairs up to the second level. And the other side to climb up just seems like a fall waiting to happen. I do like the walking paths and landscaping. Thats pretty nice

Festival park, Elgin is a beautiful place to say the least. I go here often for a walk and sometimes to practice my photography. This place has parking, has a small park for children, you can do fishing here and there is casino nearby!

Great space for kids to get active! New playground equipment (installed 2019) and the splash pad is a great spot for summer fun. You can also take a stroll along the river and view the current art installations or grab some ice cream at one of the shops!

I had never been here before but my friend and I decided to come here at like midnight and I had no idea they had like an obstacle course for kids and since there werent any kids around, I decided to try it. It was definitely a workout but it was so much fun! If your kids like to climb or get some energy out, this obstacle course is great. Technically its a playground for kids and its not hard its a big metal piece that is safely secured. Trust me, if it can hold me all the way across, it can definitely hold your children with no problem!! Go check it out! They have a little magic music player too on the ground for kids to step on and make noise, which is very cute and a lot of different seating areas for parents!

This place is pretty awesome. It’s right on the river in Dowtown Elgin with some fun shops and restaurants near. There is a splash pad as well as one of the best playgrounds in the area.It’s right by the casino area and can be a little unsafe at times. There were some sketchy characters walking through when I was there last, but as long as you’re keeping an eye out, you should have a great time!

Nice splash pad and playground for kids. Lots of shade. Restrooms werent very clean however. Only downside.

Elgin Ribfest... We took hubby there for fathers day....we enjoyed Alabama-based Off the Bone best of all for their hospitality and amenities provided....just-right portions (I also had the delicious cornbread and tangy greens. Other vendors there including Funnel cakes and fried snicker bar cakes...mmmMusic from Funk Brotherz band had us dancing on the grass. A really great family time.

I truly wish that there was more things for the kids to play on / with & a swing set and / or a slide or two!!!Theres just so very little for the kids to play on :(Was clean and kept well though for what little they do have.The splashing fountains are pretty neat and Im sure great to cool off on a hot day.

Good soundstage with plenty of room to dance! Have plenty of time because the traffic to exit parking lot may take awhile for the 4th. Still was a great show!

It is a nice park with a splash pad for the kids. But there were much older kids there using foul language and pushing. Other then that we will be going back

Very nice area in what appears to be a revitalized area of downtown Elgin. River fishing, fountains where kids can play, walking and biking areas and a number of good local restaurants up and down the area.

Absolutely lovely park in downtown Elgin next to the grand victoria casino. It has a fountain and kids park on one end that is great for family outings, especially inexpensive ones. Beautifully decorated part of the river walk that is excellent for walking, jogging,or running. I have run and walked here for years. Very safe and very clean with amazing scenery to enjoy. Seconds away from the downtown Elgin cafes and restaurants.

Its a fun place to spend time, a good time at todays rib fest.
