I really wanted to like this store buuuuut there are just too many reasons NOT to. How establishments like this are able to go on is beyond me. Animals are kept in very questionable conditions to say the least. Cleanliness is another big thing! Do you all ever clean??? From the smell to the webs everywhere. Once looking at the fish we saw BLACK WIDOWS!!! Brought it to their attention and their attitude was okay?. as if it is normal... BEWARE the BLACK WIDOWS!!! And finally, depending on their mood, employees range from being pleasant to rude, but rarely helpful. P.E.T.A do your thing.

Ive been coming here since I picked up my first Bearded Dragon from them 11 years ago. Staff is cool, laid back, friendly and highly knowledgeable about all animals and products sold.

Visited just today for the first time. There is a great selection of exotic pets however just a few of the fish here and there were dead or near dying in the display tanks. Knowledgeable staff and helpful, just hope they take care of all the invertabrates they have and all others too of course. Other than that, great experience.

I was horrified when I saw the conditions of their mice and birds in their store today. There were about 4 glass containers that were all JAM PACKED with mice! The mice were forced to crawl all over each other in order to get around. There had to be over 50 of them in each container. I was heartbroken to see one mouse having a hard time sleeping because he was getting trampled by his friends. As for the birds, they were all laying on the floor of their cages with zero toys and zero companions. They all looked so depressed, I’m certain they’re dealing with emotional issues from being in that pet store. There were two birds in particular who were loosing their feathers. It was just a very unpleasant experience. The owner of the store needs to take accountability for the animal abuse going on.

Was looking for a rose hair tarantula, called they had it and set it aside for me, will definitely go back.

I WAS a regular customer till I finally realized that the boss wasnt just always busy to acknowledge me even when there was no one around. Turns out the type of customer service you get with him depends on the color of your skin. Notice the diversity in the employees? There is NONE!!

I buy my feeders here for my snakes and pacman frog. I bought my boa here and it is doing really well. A really affordable place to buy feeders that are healthy. Their prices on their animals are reasonable and they are well cared for. They also have a good variety to choose from. Friendly staff and clean store. It is on the smaller side so maybe take that into consideration when visiting in a group or bringing children. But they never deter people from bringing kids. Can get crowded on the weekends.

I saw a blue tongue skink with its toes rotting green and stuck shed all around him. He looked like he’s going to die any day now. I saw reptiles in enclosures that were too small for them. Also I saw a dumeril’s ground boa in its water bowl with no water.

Always great customer service here. Short on rats currently but still worth going to. Lots of mice still.

We bought our angel fish, blue gourami and danios from here. We recently purchased a 75 gallon tank and we already had big fish that we’ve had for 5 + years so we needed some hardy fish that could handle their own but also not to aggressive. The gentleman knew exactly what fish to put in our tank but also knew a lot of detail about the fishes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We bought ALOT of fish from pet smart but as soon as we put them in our tank they would just die right away but none of the fish we bought from here died.

They didnt have much. They like selling rats ! they arent bad, but really the rats are like the most famous there. shout out to the rat lady!

Very rude and unprofessional employees. They dont have any people skills, we walked in and was received by rude looks and tone from the female who was working behind the counter. Totally disrespectful and will never give them my business again and will never send any of my co-workers or friends again.

Called this store and asked them if they had any Tinc dart frogs in stock. Was told they had a beautiful pair in stock that where amazon tincs. Since I had never heard of this morph before I asked if they where sure they where tincs which I was assured they where. Always one willing to drive for new frogs I drove 3 hours to this store.... To look at an admitably beautiful pair of ranitomeya vents aka the Amazon dart frog....which I have no set up for. Pretty dissapointed I wasted a whole day based off misinformation. A simple I dont know what they are would have saved me a lot of time.

Interesting selection at good prices. Birds bunnies, lizards, snakes and fish both large and small. Limited supply of Tanks, cages, foods and supplies. Knowledgable, helpful, friendly staff.

This place has a large selection of reptiles and other exotic pets. I find the organization of the store to be a bit chaotic and claustrophobic, but the staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Their containment units for pets are minimally stocked (I wouldnt come here to get pet cages or aquariums), and their lighting selection is sparse (they only carry replacement tube lighting for hood fixtures from what I could see. I saw they carried some basic pet supplies for aquariums and birds, and a larger selection of items for reptiles. The fish seem well taken care of and not super overstocked. I like their selection of aquarium plants, though most of them are high maintenance (need high levels of light and planted substrate with ferts added). They do get in some low maintenance plants from time to time. Their betta selection is really narrow, but they have a lot of exotic fish that may not be available in big chain stores. I got my bloodfin tetras there and I plan to go back to finish stocking my tank. So far so good - all of the fish and my plants are looking healthy. I also bought a marimo moss ball, two banana plants, and a pack of java fern from here. Looking to get some Amazon swords and a couple of other plants next.

Its a very nice place

I was very disappointed to see how many of the animals were housed. Specifically the Leopard Gecko and some other lizards as well. They may have some knowledge on other animals but those poor babies were in very poor husbandry and didnt even have the basic things they need to thrive.

It was crowded. Very small place, smelly, few exotic pets .Emplyees very helpful but I was expecting something better.

They arent very good at greeting customers, had they been an ounce of personable interaction, we would have bought what we were looking for..

Everyone at the ark was friendly and knowledgeable! I purchased some finches and ended up buying all they had really only because I didnt want to split them up or leave one behind because theyre a social bird and probably would have died alone for a couple of weeks. They gave me a discount, and helped me with all I needed I came all the way from Las Cruces because Petco and petsmart were either out of stock or had unhealthy looking animals probably from neglect. All the birds I bought were healthy and robust and active!!!

They always have different sizes of bugs and breeds of bugs for my bearded dragon. They also work with you on prices and stuff. Best place to buy anything for your pets. I just wish it wasnt so far away from me so I could be there like every day. And their animals are very well taken care of.

This place is absolutely amazing. First time we went we spent probably about 30-45 minutes asking the employees about their animals. They were knowledgeable, extreamly helpful, and very polite. Ever since the first time we went now we go every week.

There were many sick animals that were not housed adequately. Many of the enclosures were dirty and we witnessed an employee, essentially, hitting an animal.

Staff is very experienced and knowledgeable. I adopted a baby ball python and she is already well adjusted and eating great. Prices are reasonable and the people seem to really care about you and the animals.

Love love this place! Came here to get a hedgehog 3 years ago and it was super great that the staff are well educated and able to easily explain to the customers. They take their time and let you ask as many questions that you need. Also came back for some fish and it was awesome that this gentleman ( Im sorry I dont remember your name, but I know you needed glasses for the check out process :) ), helped us explaining what fish could coexist with each other and other fun stuff. He was kind to the kids and also explained how to feed and care for them. This is great place to get your information if your unsure of how to care for fish, reptiles, and sum cute Lil pets! AWESOME!

Got a fish there. Really decent size one. Awesome price and great service. Well from the pet I bought. They have a great mix kinda a little higher than most places.

Didnt keep animal enclosures very clean. The store smellt, employees always are talking amongst themselves, and really only interact when you come in hi/hello or when you get close to them (at the register) did you need help/looking for something. I dont think alot of their animals are completely comfortable.

By far my favorite place for my reptiles needs. The staff is very knowledgeable on the different reptiles they own along with sugar gliders, pot belly pigs and birds.

It was crowded, not much space, and the smell was pretty overwhelming when I walked in. The female who helped me get my rats seemed to have an attitude and she was rough while handling the animals.

Bought my ever first tarantula at Arks now I have over 300!They got me started with professional advice.

Purchased a tarantula (aphonopelma seemanni/striped knee) and the employee that specializes in the arachnids section was great in helping me choose and answering my questions. I enjoyed how they also werent too pushy to try and make me buy a pet. other pet stores try to help but are simply trying to sell. these guys gave me my space to look around and were right there the moment I needed them.

I love this place. Always helpful and try to get someone who knows about the animal to answer any questions. The rabbits are extremely over priced. A mini Rex rabbit usually costs for a pure breed 5-10dollars they charge 75.00 for the rabbits. I do come from a different state we don’t have cats or stray animals so for us cats are 300dollars for any cat. So I’m guessing it’s just hard to get them here.

I came to look at their fish selection. They had a pretty good selection and were reasonably priced. Would have rated 5 stars but the African cichlids didnt look quite right. Couldnt tell if they were sick or just fighting too much and couldnt risk bringing a sick fish home. Staff was helpful and friendly.

This place has great customer service, all of the staff if very friendly and knowledgeable about all sorts of pets! Amazing salt water fish selection and supplies, and the only place to truly find any reptiles. Its a one stop shop, if youve never been here you should definitely give it a try, you wont be disappointed!
