My kids have done dance, gymnastics and swim lessons here!! Its a great place for all of those things, while also having an indoor activities room (not during COVID of course)... everyone that works at FHRC has been awesome over the past 3-4 years!!

Believe it or not this pool/playground/rec center also has a half-court large enough for a whole lot of kids to play in the same basketball game. There are shaded table nearby for onlooking parents.

The swim coaches here are outstanding! They give each kid more swim time and instruction than the YMCA and the price is lower also. The swim team doesnt compete in meets which makes it less stressful for the younger kids who can joinwhen they become first graders. They teach the swim strokes authentically and let the kids practice long laps for endurance. Its an excellent experience for the swimmers and parents alike because the coaches make themselves available for consultation and chairs are there to make everyone comfortable.

Pools needs more attractions for kids, such as small slides or something to keep kids busy.

This place is wonderful! We are so thankful for a staff that cares about the kids and speaks loud enough to enforce rules to ensure kid’s safety. We have been coming here for over 20 years and are so pleased with the excellent service we receive!

Such a fun and safe environment for family fun at a low cost! The staff was so attentive and willing to help with everything we needed. Will be back soon :)

Sweet, simple & nice rec center. Im on my 3rd swim class session for my son. Its nice to have the rec open & available to play around a little while waiting for your class to start when early. Small 1 basketball hoop court, small outdoor playground & a little more things inside. I love the new lounge chairs they put out in the grass area under the shady tree. I would reccomend this to anyone.

This is the wrong place to take your children. Teenage lifeguards yelling at people. I saw a lifeguard grab a kid for crossing a swim line. No splashing, cannon balls, floating ect... Violations will be met with a bullhorn. Took family because our pool isnt ready yet on my day off. Worst experience of the summer.

We are in the middle of our third session of swim classes in the Parent Tot learn to swim. Our goal was to help our baby be water-safe as early as possible and, thanks to a dedicated and caring staff, she is making amazing progress toward that goal. She is so much more confident and skilled in just a few sessions! Thank you, El Cajon Rec! The only thing that could make this better would be to have open swim on the weekends!

Excellent pool staff and environment, great place to go for swim lessons or open swim. Rules are well enforced with structered swim lessons. Always enjoy coming here.

My husband and I took the kids here for an hour swim...staff was rude, no splashing, no cannon balls, no floating on your stomach..rules are rules I get it but if your going to enforce rules you should do it a repectful manner. Life guards should not be putting their hands on any kid unless in a life threatening situation PERIOD. Wasnt an enjoyable experience and will not take my family here again. You people are dealing with other peoples kids.....!!!!!

I continueously heard kids getting yelled at. Your not alowed to do half the things other public pools throw on the table.

Great place to take the kids for low cost swimming lessons. There is a par 3 golf course right next to this pool that dubs as a Frisbee golf field.p.

Registered my kids for a swimming class they canceled me twice and they didn’t learn anything except splashing!

Great staff and warm water for kids swim classes, really recommend it for student swim classes and other fitness classes

Mike SIMPSON made the ballfield the gem it once was!Good luck keeping it in such incredible condition, it aint as easy as it seems!!

Great local community pool, usually warm enough to swim whatever time of year. Currently undergoing renovation.

My son learned how to swim here. Great spot for your kids, as the Lifeguards are always excellent
