As a once resident, it is a huge waste of money and very discriminatory, hence I said was ONCE a resident. There are so many other things they could have spent that money on....mixed-use retail development, infrastructure, redevelopment, etc. I and many others were very disgusted they chose this to build with our tax dollars! It is not even well constructed or pleasant to look at, just a bunch of metal in the middle of nowhere along a freeway.
This is a very interesting place to visit. Was in awe of the size of the cross. The surrounding Ten Commandments was a really nice touch. This is a must see monument if youre a religious person.Unfortunately (and be aware), while we did stop by at night, the grounds seem to be in dire need of attending to...You could tell the grass surrounding the cross has not been cut for some time. A couple the signs we falling over and several of the audio poles didnt work...
Its really big. I feel safe driving near it. Also great for protection against vampires. When you see this highway symbol Youll be in awe that someone built this massively huge structure. My brother and I felt very satisfied driving by it.
They didnt use tax dollars to build it genius.
I had the pleasure of experiencing the site of the cross about a year ago. When I tell you it felt like I had turned the corner and Jesus himself was standing there. That cross is awesome. I cried the whole time of driving by. I couldnt take my eyes off of it. For me it was a reminder of him coming back for us as believers, and the large sacrifice that was made. The emotions of passing by it still come back to my mind often.
Someone asked How many hungry people could that have fed?I checked, and it is not edible. Do NOT try to eat The Cross at the Crossroads - I learned that the hard way. Let me tell you.Someone stuck an old piece of gum on a bench nearby, and it is still had a lot of flavor left. 5 stars!
Really ugly from the road
We passed this on our way from Indiana to Missouri. I had never heard of the cross at the crossroads before. It was a really neat monument to see. It was very encouraging to see fellow believers put up the funds to erect such a neat monument. I wish I could have seen it lit up at night.
How much did it cost to build this?Millions of dollars. How many hungry people could that had fed?How many sick could that money have healed? How many poor could that have sheltered?Think about it Christians.
Fairly good place not much to do apart from checking the big cross.
Love seeing this when I head to my Dads!
Christians have done more to feed and care for the hungry in this world. It is our calling. Go and see if they will feed you before you make a judgment.
Beautiful way to end my day.
In reality, this abhorrent propaganda monstrosity of a structure will make more people reel in disgust than make them Christian.
The spirit moves there
The Cross
Cant miss it
