Front nine is OK, but back nine not so much. Many holes are lined with tall weeds and frequent lost ball searches take too long slowing play for all groups. Yardage markers are hard to find and carts dont have GPS so bring a distance finder. On the plus side, Braemar has great food/beer options and a large deck area overlooking the course as well as the best driving range in the state.

The practice area is great. I like the renovation of the course better than the original. Would be extremely walkable but for the 12th hole which is like ten floor walk-up. Cant leave clubs at the bottom because you go down the other side. If you play the right tees, its fair yet challenging.

If you are looking for a fantastic golf course then Braemar GC is the place to play...With its newly remodeled course and ginormous practice facility you are going to be truly amazed from the moment you step on the 1st tee box to your final putt in 18...This course will certainly give you the wow factor that you are looking for...

Outstanding course. The layout challenges golfers of all skill level. The practice facilities are top-notch with plenty of range spaces, chipping areas and putting greens. Staff at Braemar are second to NONE. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Highly encourage everyone to get to Braemar and enjoy a round at one of the NICEST facilities in the state!

The Course was in very good shape. Great improvement over former layout. I paid $70.00 including cart on a Sunday. I think that is over the top in pricing. Now they do have a good driving range, practice putting, and other practice areas. But it is still over priced.

My group was mischarged for golf carts (we took to many), $7.00 short. Mind you, i had a receipt for my cart payment, showed it yo the cart master, and was given a cart. Was asked three tomes when teeing off to pay on the turn (on the teebox). We agreed to do exactly as requested, then where followed to carts by staff and had radio announcement go out, even heard by my business friends. We went on the play the 9 holes. Then getting to the turn i immediately start heading to club house and the man yells at me as i pass again. Telling him i have been doing exactly as requested, he makes another radio announcement heard by friends inside. Worst experience golfing, horrible treatment. Ill gladly send $70 so the next ten people dont need to deal with this. Go elsewhere.

Huge driving range with big buckets of decent range balls. People are all nice. Not much diversity around these parts, as in middle of Edina.Service is on point, and the fact that I had no worries of driving the ball too far or wide was cool. No yardage markers to be seen. Just different colored flags with no seen corresponding distances.

I absolutely love the Championship course it is very beautiful and in fabulous shape. The reason I am giving it just 3 stars is the pace of play. I belong to a different golf club and the average pace of play there is 3:40. I played Braemar on Wednesday and it took 5:20, which is too long for a round of golf.

I will never play this course again. The staff is extremely unprofessional. They told us we couldnt get in our full 18 holes when we showed up to the course, because they decided on the spot to close early that day. Even though we called a couple days earlier to make sure we could get in 18 holes as we had people making a far drive to play the course. At the end of the round when we were packing up our bags, the staff yelled and swore at us to bring our carts to them before we could finish. Extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. I will be spreading the word of our experience.

Very disappointing experience here. I was trying to figure out a problem I was having with payment and one of the players services kids named Charles was extremely rude and disrespectful, and did not help me at all. He was also making my wife very uncomfortable with the way he was talking, and looking at her. I will never go here again and will make sure my friends don’t either. Especially with their wives

Course was just re-done and its very nice. Pretty big fairways with though, precise greens. Only paid $30 for the round (under 25). Greens were recently aerated so they were pretty sandy. New course so the grass just needs to get rooted. Highly recommend for cheap public golfing.

The new course was very nice and had forgiving fairways. The greens were very quick and it was hard to get a shot to stick on the green. It was very fun round and reasonably priced at $66ish for 18 and a cart. Overall its a great location and Id go back again and again.

Love the redesign. It is a lot more open and forgiving in some areas, challenging in others. The Back 9 is pretty tough. The course was in decent shape, although the greens were a little slow, but I imagine they are being tender with them as it is the first playing season.Price is right for a course of this caliber. The one thing that knocked down my rating was the pace. It took us 5 hours in carts and didnt feel like we were doing a lot of waiting. I know everyone loves the par 3 with the tee boxes on the giant hill (now #13), but when we got to the tee there was a log jam of 2 groups. The only time we had to wait all day and it was a long wait, almost 20 minutes. All in all I am happy with the redesign and am looking forward to coming back to improve my score! hopefully the wait at 13 improves.

Played the course in late May and it was in good condition. Greens were rolling slow but true. Probably in much better condition now. Many of the trees are brand new making the course feel wide open. Golfed once and wont be back. The Character of the course has completely changed. Not a fan. Also, as a non-patron I paid $70.00 (with Cart) after 3:00pm. This course is just ok. The fees are higher than I would expect for a course of this quality. When we arrived, we went to the club house to pay and get a few items. The employees behind the counter were younger and seemed very pompous. Once we got our cart, we went on to our tee time. The whole time we were playing, we were being watched by staff members. Any time we went off the cart path, we were told to get back on the path. It was like an army of them telling all the people trying to enjoy themselves. The fairways are nice, but the greens are VERY inconsistent. Some were very hard and the ball rolled forever, while some were like mush and the ball barely moved. Overall, it was a nice course, but I won’t play here again until the course is in better condition.

Not much to like about this course now. It appears they remodeled it using the economy model. Staff were crabby and confused. They told us one price when we scheduled and charged us 75 dollars when we showed up. Very little on the fairways to tell you the hole description (guess they couldnt afford the nice plaques showing the layout of the hole like a premium course would do). The snack cart charges 2.00 for a candy bar a 3 dollars for a bottle of water...but they were out of most of everything by the time they showed up for us (the 16th hole). We had to wait for about 8 holes to find some place to go to the bathroom. The ranger was crabby and rude.... lots more... but there are far too many more courses to choose from to ever play at this overpriced badly designed city course...never again

Not even open yet, and likely the worst course in the south metro. The layout is confusing, tee boxes aiming at other tee boxes and they removed all of the really good things this course used to be. The fact it has taken this long to get the course complete shows that the people in charge do not know what they are doing. The old executive course was one of the best short courses, not only in Minnesota, but that I have played across the country. In stead of making it better, they doubled the cost to play, made it nearly unwalkable, and with three 70 yard holes in a row, what more is there to say. This is exactly what the new course will be. Overpriced, uninteresting, and certain holes dangerous. This was my main course, but it looks like I will play in Chaska or Bloomington instead.

Disappointed. Waited 1 1/2 years to reopen after a total redo, taking 27 holes down to 18, new everything. Expected the course to reopen in pristine condition. Instead, its in mediocre shape. Fairways and tee grounds have bare spots, uneven grass. I thought it would have recovered after being open for a month but no. Disappointing especially other muni courses in the area by now are in great shape.

While its usually in decent condition (albeit extremely easy), the service is terrible. You see the beverage cart once every 9 holes. The rangers and staff are incredibly rude compared to every other course Ive ever played. The prices for EVERYTHING are way higher than they should be. The course plays extremely slow, and you get yelled at regardless of whether or not youre half a hole behind the people in front of you. The only reason I ever go to this dump is because all the other courses in the area are either private or theyre also terrible, save for Crystal Lake, but thats not all that close when you want to get in a quick 9 after work.
