Timber Ridge Golf Club

First, this is an old course with mature trees and in a fairly tight space. This is not a Northern Michigan course sprawled out over 5 or 6 hundred acres. Realize that going in. Secondly, it is under new management--the same that run Eagle Eye and Hawks Hallow--and it will take time to get everything in tip top condition. In Sept. of 2020, the course was in very good shape overall. Some of the greens were showing some wear and tear from ball marks that hadnt grown in well, but they were very fast and consistent from practice green to #18. Lastly, its a shorter course but will test the average golfer with tight drives and approaches that require some precision. I love tiered greens and these did not disappoint. At $65 on a Saturday, I paid a premium but sure there are better deals on off peak times. Enjoy!

The club house is on the ground level in the back of the banquet hall - I just saved you some time wandering around trying to find it. This is a great golf course! The holes are very well kept, the greens are challenging because they are far from flat! Great views from pretty much every hole. If youre in the area and want to golf, dont miss this course. Afterwards, their restaurant serves good food at reasonable prices. Zoom in on the center of my pic. Lots of wildlife and birds were out and about on the day I was there.

We love Timber Ridge. My son, Kyle, works there and is thrilled to be a part of the team. We enjoy spending time on the range and the course. Both of my sons are learning the game and couldnt be happier to experience such a great team and a great course. Thank you.

We had our wedding reception at Timber Ridge on July 28th and we absolutely cannot say enough good about ALL OF IT! From booking the venue last year, to every detail of preparing, to the big day itself, Joey exceeded all of our expectations and literally made this the best day of our lives. Joey told us he doesnt know how he got into the wedding business as a GM, but we sure know how! His constant communication, attention to detail, professionalism, and courtesy cannot be beat. Joey is every brides dream vendor to work with. His venue is absolutely stunning. We used the outdoor pavilion as our reception site - being outdoors scares some people, but his venue cannot go wrong. It is fully covered with high ceilings so no fear of precipitation, there are cement floors so guests shoes arent sinking, and lighting, outlets, tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and service all included! WOW, what else do you even need!? Joey also reserves the indoor reception room for you on your day so it is available if necessary. We comfortably fit 220 guests and each one of them continue to rave to us how perfect of a venue it was. The views of being on a golf course also cannot be beat. Literally the perfect setting! *There is also a beautiful bridal suite available for use which my bridesmaids and I used the morning of to have our hair and makeup artists help get us ready on site!* Additionally, we cannot say enough about the TR staff. Each of them were professional, courteous, patient, and knowledgeable in making the evening go just as planned. We did not have to worry about one thing the whole evening. Lastly, the food was amazing! Joey hosts a tasting night prior to your event and there is a big variety of options to choose from - but I guarantee whatever you choose will not disappoint. We 110% recommend Timber Ridge!!

Very well maintained course. Its a sight to see in the fall season.

Nice course but slow pace of play!Teed off at 8:48am. Many tee boxes were stacked up with multiple groups as we’d arrive. Very frustrating. The group ahead of us split on hole 13 because it was so slow. Not a single ranger came by all day. We finished up our round at 2:15.Not acceptable time spacing for $65.

Very tough course, they have left the rough go high. But nice up north feel, without going up north.

Timber Ridge is one of my favorite places to be. Ive played 100+ rounds of golf there and in August of 2016, I had the pleasure of getting married under their pavilion. The service, food, scenery, and overall experience was outstanding. We continue to receive compliments from family/friends who attended our wedding. Joey is an outstanding manager and maintains focus on customer service in every way.

Beautiful course, great time with my husband. My only complaint is the kids working are not awesome, no sense of humor, not good waitresses, yet expect to be tipped. Where I come from tips are earned, not just given. I know its hard to believe but if you listen to the adults training you, you could actually learn something. ️

Visited this course on numerous occasions while on holiday from Northern Ireland. I have played a number of courses throughout Europe and America and I have been made more than welcome at Timber Ridge.A lovely parkland course and kept in pristine condition. Office staff are very friendly and helpful so too the bar staff who serve good food and drink.The changing rooms are clean tidy and warm.The course can be set up as easy or challenging depending on the tee box you play from.I made new friends who are club members and look forward to returning in the spring time.I have been informed that club has been sold so hopefully the new owners do not change the staff as the saying goes You dont fix something that isnt broke. You wont get better staff on and off the course at Timber Ridge.

Course was in excellent condition and had a great round of golf. My only suggestion would be more training for the beverage cart person. We played 18 on a hot day and only seen the cart 2 times in 4 hrs. We ended up buying drinks on the turn.

Great food and wait staff was very friendly....the girls should have their hair pulled up or tied back when working with food is the only thing that should have been done differently.

My husband and I had our wedding at Timber Ridge in September. Everything was perfect. We are still getting compliments today about how great the food and table service was. Joey was awesome to work with, as a bride I had enough stress and he always went above and beyond to make our experience fantastic. Bob Stipcak was also very pleasing to work with! The scenery was incredible! All of the trees and the sunset over the course made for a perfect picture. I highly recommend this as a wedding venue!

Your venue is absolutely beautiful and you were so easy to work with it made everything worth it. We received so many comments on how nice the venue was and how great the food was. Everyone raved about the pot roast and mashed potatoes but everything tasted great. We cant thank you enough for helping us create the perfect day. All the changes that you made in the last year since we booked the venue with you just added to Timber Ridges beauty. Timber Ridge is a very nice well kept golf course that is groomed at a level you see at the golf mecas up North or down South. The staff is very polite and responsive as well. The course is not too difficult but still offers challenges and beautiful scenery great prices make the a winners pick.

Nice course. Played with a group of gals. Course was in good shape. Grass was cut. Roughs not too long. As with most courses, womens tees could use some work. Also, nice club house. Overall, Id play there again.

Our wedding was Sept. 8th, 2018. Joey and his team are absolutely incredible! From being there for us, to being on it with the guests. Our food was amazing and we had compliments ALL night on how good the food was and how beautiful the venue is. We also had our ceremony here and that also went perfect. I can not say enough! The team went above and beyond with being so accomodating. Highly, highly recommend this venue!

Great Golf Course with exceptional staff and pro. Took lessons a few years ago from the pro and really helped my swing. Kind of on the high side but if youre looking for a beautiful quality course than you wont find much better than Timber Ridge.

Great course in East Lansing. Its a little longer course with a number of narrow fairways on the back 9. Ground crew do an excellent job, and the 19th hole has always had friendly staff.

Timber Ridge is a wonderful venue for a wedding reception! Beautiful, elegant setting with the golf course as a backdrop. We have some of the most incredibly gorgeous wedding pictures as a result. The clubhouse where we held our reception was perfect--we had it all to ourselves, unlike holding it in a hotel banquet room. Private entrance with a big (free!) parking lot to accommodate all of our guests and plenty of space inside the Clubhouse. The food was AMAZING, which was very important to us, and much appreciated by our guests. Joey Stimac, who is the Timber Ridge GM and handled all of our reception details was easy to work with and extremely accommodating, ensuring that our special day was exactly the way we wanted it. We are very happy with our reception venue choice and will have great memories for years to come based on our positive experience there!

Our wedding was absolutely perfect at Timber Ridge! Our ceremony was under their beautiful new pavilion and our reception was inside. We received many compliments on the food - which we all know wedding food is often hit or miss, so it was nice to hear everyone loved it! The staff went above and beyond from setup to tear down and every moment in between. Joey even kept us and our bridal party hydrated throughout our photo sessions on that 87 degree day! We loved working with them and they did whatever it took to make sure it was the best day ever!

This is a great course. Well maintained but sufficiently challenging for an amateur duffer. Staff is quite friendly and course play is not rushed. Worth the time!

Really enjoy this course. Good condition but they were aerating so it was a little slow. But management offered us food and drink as compensation for the wait. How nice is that!

Timber Ridge Golf Club was the perfect spot for our wedding reception in June. We loved how the dining room had so many windows that let in the beautiful view of the golf course. There was a ton of room for our guests to mingle and spread out during the reception. The food was AMAZING. We received so many compliments on the quality of the food and dining experience! Working with Joey Stimac was so easy and helpful. He met all of our needs and was very flexible with incorporating the ideas that we had. He took away the stress of wedding planning! I would recommend Timber Ridge to anyone looking for a beautiful and unique wedding venue. We also have beautiful wedding photos from the golf course. We were able to take golf carts out with our wedding party and got some gorgeous photos! THANK YOU Timber Ridge!!

Exceptionally overpriced track. They also allow people who miss their tee times to jump out ahead to hole 4 or 5 to get in front of you and slow you down. I remember why its been 15 years between my rounds here.

Beautiful course. First time playing and loved it. Greens were very fast in spite of recent aeration. Fairways are often not flat and local knowledge is a huge help but even at that a well placed shot doesnt necessarily mean trouble. Lots of trees defining the holes with water in play on a few. My cart choice happened to be on the slow side but tolerable. Might just have picked a slow one. Holes are challenging with many up hill. I would definitely play it again if opportunity presents itself.

Played in a senior scramble. Awesome place to golf. Course is in good shape. The luncheon was delicious. Highly recommended to everyone.

We had a great experience hosting our wedding reception at Timber Ridge. The event manager Joey was easy to work with and very accommodating to all of our requests. The food was fabulous; we received so many compliments! We would definitely recommend Timber Ridge to anyone planning a wedding!

Great course, moron pro shop. Expect 8 somes, and slow play. Starters are oblivious to pace of play. For the money I’d go to Hawk Hollow, at least the staff knows how to manage the course.

Extraordinarily beautiful setting and very challenging. #18 from the tips is the best finishing hole in golf. Ive been playing here regularly for almost 20 years and its still my favorite.

A great course that is not being taken care of in the manner it deserves. Clubhouse is showing its age. Parking lot landscaping is neglected. Doesnt appear that the owner(s) care.

Timber Ridge was the perfect place for our wedding reception in September. Our guests raved at the beautiful views of the golf course and surroundings from the clubhouse. Some of our most beautiful wedding photos are those taken on the golf course. The room was very elegant and our guests had plenty of room to spread out and mingle during our reception. The food was FANTASTIC! We received numerous compliments during the reception and are still receiving compliments to this day. Joey Stimac is the BEST to work with. Not only did Joey make sure all of our needs were met, he also made sure the needs of our vendors were met. Working with Joey and his staff definitely reduced the stress of planning a wedding reception. I would recommend Timber Ridge to anyone looking for a beautiful wedding and reception venue.
