Kids area of the river is close to the parking lot, different depths of water make it easy to have younger and older kids there at the same time. The kids enjoyed it, especially the little waterfalls to the right. Id recommend a blanket for a picnic, sunscreen, and bug spray (we didnt need bug spray but I could see it being an issue depending on where you are).
Very calm pleasant place to hang out and get your toes wet.
Easy river access with plenty of places for water access and nice hiking trails
Great spot to hike...but definitely not with a stroller lmao
This park is serene. The bodies of water are surreal. Great for families!
Great local hike!As the name suggests, this is a place that has been used to Ford the river. Water typically runs slow, so this is a good place to get wet after a hike
The water is shallow enough for my kids to play and explore safely. I would wear river shoes or sandals with a good sole because the rocks are pretty painful and difficult to navigate. The area is close enough to the parking lot to make caring a picnic easy, but far enough away to feel like you are deep in the woods. It is a popular spot but not overcrowded. Most people I have encountered there are kind.
Nice spot with varying depths of water.
Love this park! Awesome beautiful trails almost like you are in the mountains! Some trails are treacherous. Most of them are easily accessible for small children. Love that the water is crystal clear and you can see to the bottom rock bed. A great local place to fish, swim, picnic and hike.
Perfect place to trek..Most of the trails having the riverside view which makes to enjoy the voice of water in whole trek. Most of the trails are seems to very short distance around 1 miles only.So it’s easy to get into so many trails in half a day.Enjoyed the place..!!
Good swimming spot but very busy.
Perfect spot to bring children of all ages to splash in the water on a hot day. There is a very shallow section at the ford thats great even for small toddlers. The picnic area has a nice bathroom and the hiking trails are well maintained.
Went for a dip in the river and lost my shoe. Slipped on some rocks and had to limp out of the river. Todays lesson: WEAR THE RIGHT SHOES
We had a great time.
Love Eno State Park, the river is great to play in with your dogs! The trails are top notch and it has a swinging bridge that crosses the river.
This is a wonderful place to bring toddlers. Always struggling to find a place that is free where I can spend a few hours with my family, including my dog. Fews Ford has some great spots to throw a blanket on the ground, and hang out for a few hours. Be sure to bring waterproof shoes. Its very Rocky.
A well-maintained heavily utilized State Park.
Nice trails along the river.
Best free swimming in Durham.
One of the very few clear cool water swimming spots in the area, never crowded.
This is one of the few short trails at Eno but it takes you along the river which I find soothing. Today was quiet. Its usually a busy area with lots of hikers but I think the cool weather kept people in. Their mistake! It was a gorgeous day for a walk.
Beautiful place to hike and enjoy a day with family
Beautiful park with lovely swimming and wading of various depths. The trees and wildlife are beautiful. A wonderful place for a picnic and hiking and swimming.
I am so happy to see families enjoying the river
Beautiful views and sounds.
Great place to walk you dog. They have a nice path... there are some stone steps in areas. Not a wheelchair friendly place. Swinging suspension bridge is fun for the kids. Dogs must remain on a leash, but there are plenty of areas for them to swim around. Multiple trails to choose from. Only looses a star because trail can be so crowed that it feels like you are in a line.
A beautiful place to cool down on hot summer days. Pet and family friendly. And amazing views from the multiple trails. And always nice people to talk to.
Great swimming spot for kids!
Beautiful, safe access to the eno
Beautiful place! The loop I did was about 12k steps with a lot of climbing.
A beautiful spot to hike, fish, and swim (in the summer). Easy access from Durham and an extensive trail network. You can even camp in the backcountry out here.
Eno river is a calm relaxing place..
Probably the most aesthetically beautiful place in the triangle.
Nice beer selection and big place. Lots of kids jogging around.
Beautiful nature!
Awesome swimming hole. Perfect for kids. Some nice small rapids close-by to play in..
Great place to wade in, you can walk all the way across the river here easily, even small children. Little island in the middle and a short walk to a waterfall.
Love fews ford, for for swimming (when it hasnt rained in a while) and great for dogs and kids!
Easy parking and great views - bring the bug spray and plan to be out of cell service for a while!
Awesome shallow spot for kids! Really pretty trails. Best in spring and fall.
Great scenery. Easy access to Eno river.
Fantastic with great amenities. I felt very safe.
Awesome family friendly hike with a few good fishing holes
Loved the walk the trails and the park
Just great
A great place to take kids ans enjoy being in nature.
Love going here, even if there is a lot of people out on the trails, it still feels secluded and quiet.
Nice park wih great hiking trails and no crowds
Beautiful place and great location to start some of the many trails through the woodlands and along the river.
Great place for an Easter hike. He is risen.
Lovely place for a picnic with the family. Water is shallow enough for even small kids.
Great trails. Can get crowded on the weekends. Beware of snakes.
Nice trip to the Ford.
Wonderful hikes along the river
