Very pretty 1.5 mile loop trail. It definitely has some inclines on the way back (my watch recorded 12 flights of stairs!) But with good weather and lots of shade, this hike only takes 45 minutes and is a must-see. Definitely pretty popular, so look at other trails (such as Cox mountain trail) if youre looking for something more secluded.
This is one of my favorite trails in all of RDU. Combined with the Holdens Mill trail its a good length hike and the scenery leaves little to be desired. Absolutely love this trail and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a moderate rugged hike
Lovely place to visit. The water was cool and clean, we had a great time!
A whole lot of rocks and roots but decent trail, wear comfortable hiking shoes
Very nice setting with rapids and mini waterfall. Can swim in area, but at your own risk. Shortest route is to park by Ranger Station that has bathrooms and information. Be aware of snakes in the spring. Young snakes dont know not to lay in the trails.
Great place to hike, splash around in the water, or put a canoe/kayak in for a fun afternoon. There is also fishing here, which is always a hit with the kids. The trails are easy to moderate, with some elevation changes that require climbing stairs or slopes. The ford is ankle deep unless there had been a lot of rain, so its good for the younger kids to play in the water too.Be aware of unleashed dogs - the sign says no unleashed dogs, but I come across someone without their dog on a lead every time I hike here.
Great visit, nice trails. Very scenic.
Fun trail. You can see the creek and wade into the creek when its hot. Beware of snakes. Deer can also be seen here sometimes. Many trails to choose from. Great to take kids and pets. Restroom also available by parking area.
Gorgeous trail with nice views and wildlife
Relatively short, but a pleasant trail. Holdens Mill trail is much longer and harder if you need more challenge.
Fun place to hike
