The best fish store in Colorado! The staff is kind and the originality of this store is off the charts. The fish are well taken care of and the variety is exceptional. We have had wonderful experiences with the health of the fish we have purchased from here. We live 2 hours away and the stock has always been healthy enough to survive such a long journey. Owner sold me angle fish from the back room that were infected with some kind of fungus that killed all my other fish...I should have been weary when he refused to give me a receipt. The angle fish I bought didnt last a week and then it spread to all my other fish killing hundreds of dollars worth of fish.Owner of the store is a know it all and is really no help at all when you ask him the simplest of questions and enjoys belittling customers.I will never buy fish from here again after I was sold infected fish that killed everything else in my aquarium.I highly recommend that NO ONE buys anything from this overpriced store that intentionally sells customers sick and infectious fish.

Great selection, super helpful staff, lots and lots of fresh and saltwater fish. They have other creepy crawlies, pretty sure I saw rodents, reptiles, possibly invertebrates.My girls were happy with The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Charming. We almost ended up with a pair of dwarf clawed frogs but they had the regular sized ones in stock. They dont hide as much so they make fun pets.

This place is amazing. I visit every other week to get crickets for my bearded dragon. They carry quality products and are always available for advice. What is special about the fish connection are the zoo like displays in fairly dark and refreshingly humid air. It is good to zen out and commune with the fish. There are very interesting salt water tanks and a magnificent cichlid display.Many tank/habitats are for viewing only with fish you can enjoy year after year.

The people here are wonderful and so knowledgeable about every and any animal. They have everything to get you started or you to keep your creature happy and well fed. Thanks to you all for all your help.

Sorry I forgot his name, but the employee that helped us was very, very helpful!!! We bought a bearded dragon, and he answered all of our questions and concerns. He helped me pick out the best products for our beardie. He even offered for us to call him for any concerns that we have after. Thank you!!!

WOW this place is amazing. They have everything you could ever need for your aquarium or terrarium. Great prices too! Very knowledgeable staff helped me pick out my first terrarium setup. Will be back!

Definitely a place for fish affishanados... See what I did there. But my wife and I were hoping for more reptile products. We have 20 something snakes and I just wish we had more scaley pet products more specifically feeders. Little hoppers and large rats. Fish looked very happy and well loved.

Absolutely wonderful!! It has a beautifully varied selection for fish, snakes, and it even has some plants, frogs, turtles, crabs, a chameleon, and some more!! The employees are nice and willing to help even when busy, and it has a generally nice atmosphere. Prices are good and the experience you get - even if you dont buy anything - is even better. 10/10, would recommend.

They have everything I didnt get a change to buy anything but will definetly be back. Also they have amazing fish.

How clean and well kept the tanks are!

I used to love this store. They are always busy and try to help as best they can. I bought a pet rat that just looked dirty but it turns out he was heavily infested with lice. His teeth were grown sideways and into his cheeks causing issues showing he never had anything to chew on. The vet was appalled and suggested I put him down because of how bad his condition was. I’ve spent hundreds for this poor little soul that was tortured his whole life by the owners and employees of the store. Please be careful when purchasing things from here as they might have lice in/on it.

All the creatures and fish were adorable

The name says fish but they offer so much more. They include all types of small reptiles and rodents. They staff there is so helpful and knowledgeable. Even if you have no plans to own a pet at this time you should go in and just look at the wonderful decor. I promise you will love it.

Fantastic place for pet fish, lizards, turtles, snakes, etc. Staff is always friendly and helpful. They have everything needed for those small pets. Also great place to entertain small children on cold days, it truly is the local Durango zoo.

I had just loved the customer service, i had a great time but had a long time finding a pet, i had finally got a gerbil which brings excitement to my days, thank you for bringing a furry full little buddy to my family.This week Monday February 2 i had gotten a new suitable home for my gerbil the gerbils name is Kenzie i had a new propare tank, water bottle, hideaway house, and wheel now i am hoping to get a friend for her to keep her company while im attending school thank you.This is my new house for my gerbil its cost a total of 140 but its great for her thank you.Also would I be able to get another female gerbil from another litter, or would it be unsafe? We have gotten 1 new gerbil which their loving each other.Thank you i had gotten to healthy gerbils in which were opposite genders but it was fine. They were breeding as we planned. Weve been waiting but now she has a baby gerbil which is surviving but shes protective which is fine. Her baby is now three days old thank you fish connection.Yes fortunately they havent been fighting though the female just had her first litter all the pups are small, strong, and adorable. They are nice to one another the gerbils are not aggressive towards one another.

Easily the only best pet store within 100 miles. Frozen mice only, but live crickets and feeder fish. Good selection of snakes and reptiles, loads of fish, and even a few decent tarantulas (not a single Chilean Rosehair, thank God).

Every time I’ve come here the staff have been a bit standoffish. Not super friendly or helpful. But the tanks are beautiful.

If you need inspiration, just go to this store! The tank displays were the best weve ever seen, all other pet stores immediately paled in comparison to this one. The dude who owns this store is more than a pet salesman...hes an artist. Felt like we needed to shake his hand or something. We highly recommend this store.

Great local store. Always support local businesses. These guys have a lot of knowledge and reasonable prices, not better than online shopping but still good prices and a great group of people.

The staff here is always super knowledgeable and very helpful. They are great with small kids and allow them to play with a lot of the animals. Theyre very reasonable prices and very good equipment for your animals.

I drove to Durango because Bruce had just received an order of a certain fish that I wanted. I havent been able to get any ordered through any of my local Farmington pet stores. Bruce was responsive over the phone in helping me time my drive to Durango and get the fish. He was helpful in explaining proper care and he even threw in a few snails that I was interested in (they werent really for sale but he threw them in as a solid). I will admit that I had to wait a bit to talk to Bruce but I didnt mind waiting. There were some other employees there but I wanted his expertise. I would highly recommend this business and will continue to do business with them. I dont really mind driving to Durango to do so.

The THIRTY DOLLAR FISH we bought died within the HOUR we bought it. The cashier refused to give us any type of refund and we walked away losing money.

I love this place. The owner is very helpful and is great. I wanted to get an introductory fish tank for my girls. I never felt like they over sold me on anything. Weve had our tank for over two years and love it. We just had an issue with a bad heater manufacturing problem and he was very professional and help replace all the fish. I love this store, but fish must be quarantined before placing in the display tank. I made the mistake of trusting the store and brought home diseased fish. The ich was very difficult to get under control. 6 fish died, 5 of which I had purchased that day.

The variety is good especially for freshwater fish, much to be desired in saltwater and reefing. They do have some awesome display/demo tanks!

Wonderful shop. Only one in Durango but if there were more Id still choose Fish Connections. All of our fish died in a matter of 24 hours and theyre replacing them all because we got a sick fish. I dont know many places that would do that. Extremely helpful and always nice. Definitely reccommend.

This is not a bad store, but they are the only supplier of live mice in Durango, (snake / reptile food) and it is a constant headache trying to get mice from them.

Unfortunately never have any mice but the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable.

The selection is somewhat small and expensive but the owner is often there and knows his stuff. They were very accommodating with a return when some equipment didnt work as expected.

Love this store but prices are typically Durango...Higher than Id like!! We have gotten small animals and reptiles from here and they are great at letting you know how to care and feed them.
