The scenery was nice but the trail was not what I expected. There was no waterfall because it was dry. Maybe if we went a different time in the year but it is a disappointment in the month of August. There were three flights of stairs leading down to a boardwalk That was supposed to leave to a waterfall that was about a hundred meters long. No trails to explore here. We found a spot under the bridge and although the view of the water was nice there was literally a ton of trash all over the ground. They should get someone to come clean that up. Overall the scenery was very decent. There were large Cliffs that you wouldnt expect to see. If there were more ways to get to the waterfall this would have been a better place.
Its beautiful, but they had the falls turned off when I was there. Seriously its worth the trip after enough rain for the water fall to work. Parking lot is ridiculously small, but that can never be improved due to space. If you visit, good luck.
We stopped at Hayden Falls while passing through Columbus. In the summer, there wasnt much of a waterfall, but it was a pretty little gorge and unexpected right in Columbus. Theres a small parking area on Hayden Run Road just west of Scioto River. Stairs lead down from the parking area to a short boardwalk trail that leads through the gorge to a viewing deck of the waterfall. Id like to visit again in the spring or some time the water is flowing more.
First of all hard to find there is no sign that says Hayden falls if your handicapped or have a stroller dont even bother theres no handicap access. There are many many steps and they are very very steep. If youre already a hiker its probably fine if not forget about it. Very disappointed.
Sweet little spot! Its hard to find parking sometimes, but well worth the walk up and down the staircase! Unfortunately when we went the falls were dried up. Will definitely have to come back again!
BEAUTIFUL NOT MUCH OF A WALK BUT MAKES REALLY GOOD FAMILY PICS
A nice little park in the city. Its best to visit after some rain to ensure the falls are running.
I love this place. you can visit here anytime. winter or spring or summer. you gonna love to spend some peaceful time here... or can have a quick visit... its nit wheelchair accessible as you need to down using stairs. but there are two decks on the road from where anyone can see the fall without going down...
Only complaint is that the path is so short. Its not a very good waterfall right now since we havent had much rain, but it was still really nice.
Wow Small park. The ambience right from walking in on a wooden walk way with stream flowing on one side and bushes on the other side. Complete Nature view and full of greenery in summer. Once the walk way is over you watch the natural water fall and photogenic place. You can hear birds chirping around making you feel happy. Lucky to find baby snake on one of the branches. If lucky enough you will be able to see ducks. No wheelchair access here. No swimming / bathing allowed here. Parking lot is very small .Simply enjoy the nature.
Great short walk with stairs to the waterfall, but not always a lot of water.
WARNING!!!!NOT PET FRIENDLY!!!!!!!Short little hike down to the falls, stair case down to the falls was nice. The water flowing down the fall looked pretty. But giving this place a 1 star due to dogs not being a on leash and coming up to my dog ( that was on a leash) also my boyfriend and I kept saying no and trying to push the other dog away from my dog without trying to get bite by other dog! NOT PET FRIENDLY!!!
Tranquil in the middle of a hectic part of town
A nice, peaceful walk leading to a beautiful waterfall.
Extremely limited parking, only worth going when not dry to see waterfall. Rocks alone were cool.
Absolutely beautiful! Such an awesome place that you would never know existed when driving by.
Beautiful boardwalk through trees. Waterfall hasnt been present the last so many months but still worth the walk.
Very scenic but rather short for if youre looking for a walk.
One of very few elevation changes in all of central Ohio, Hayden Run Falls is absolutely amazing after it rains. Enjoy the long platform walk to the Falls after stepping down into the after falls gorge leading to the Scioto River. The sound and sight and experience of Hayden Run Falls is a memorable delight.
We came thinking we could play in the waterfall, like in the pictures. Theres a big sign that says that it isnt allowed.... also, the waterfall is dried up currently.
Waterfall is beautiful and the trail is scenic, not too long. Perfect for peaceful evening if you’re close to Dublin!
The falls werent flowing but the boardwalk was absolutely wonderful nice and cool! Those steps are a killer three times to the falls and back 6 times up and down had me like done, my legs were trembling
I didnt care for it too small and dried up nothing exciting to look at
Makes for a good photo op in the spring and early summer.
What an amazing experience to view waterfalls near a major city. It was a hike at all to get to the falls, just some stairs and the boardwalk takes you right to the bottom of the falls. There is no access to walk into the water but if your fit enough climbing over the 3.5 ft fence should be no problem! Can be a little slippery! So stay dry!
Parking lot is way too small!!!!!!!! NEEDS MORE PARKING. never even got to get in to see the park because the parking was so bad
Nice waterfall hidden off a busy road
Good place to spend a day with family and friends. Good for joggers and nature lovers
Daughter was so excited if you cant tell
Not much of a waterfall because of dry spell. We plan to come back after the fall rains. 48 big steps to get to lower level and back up. Name on sign is now Griggs Nature Preserve not Hayden Falls.
First there isnt a lot of parking. There is a parking lot with only 8 spots. So when we got there, there wasnt anywhere to park. We drove around to see if there was another parking area. There wasnt any that we could find. We went back to the parking lot b/c I noticed people were leaving. So if you go an there isnt anywhere to park then just hang there for a few. I say that b/c people dont stay long because there isnt much to do. It has a nice board walk to get to the falls. There is some steps though. Now the waterfall is very pretty. I just thought we would spend a little more time there.
If I could leave a no star I would . It does NOT state anything about LIMITED PARKING and IF there is any other parking lots it does not STATE it at all! I drove 25 mins to take my daughter to this park and I tried for 10 mins to find anything close enough to park so we could go !!! This is ridiculous
Small place with limited parking. Just 10 minutes’ walk to the water falls. The water fall is gorgeous and definitely worth seeing in all seasons. Its very peaceful. There are no bathroom facilities and no picnic tables. But you can also go to Griggs Dam for a hike and picnic.
Wonderful view and so relaxing small walk
I liked that it was a wooden bridge that you walk on. Very peaceful and pretty!
A beautiful retreat tucked away in nature.
Very nice quiet hidden gem!!
The whole place is beautiful. Great rocks, great trees, great river, gorgeous waterfall. Its a short walk, but its all lovely. Lots of stairs, so take that into consideration!
Amazing natural views. Short walk distance but worth it!
Nice trail and beautiful waterfall. Tucked off right in Ohio. @otimages on Instagram!
Neat waterfall not far from the road!
Been going here since I was a young kid . Love the steps and walk way . Beautiful you would never think this was in hilliard area . Hidden gem .
I love this place! Especially when we get a cold snap to -10 degrees every few years and the waterfalls freeze overnight. A day or two later it yellows, so a freshly frozen falls is perfect. You used to be able to wander a bit. I studied on the rocks below the falls... Now thats all off limits due to improvements. The wooden walkway bars you in from going off the path.
Even though its a short walk, a beautiful little fall in the wood. Your kids sometimes lucky enough to see some ducks along the wooden walk way
The waterfalls are not always running full strength and the area is not always clear of rubbish. But it is a very nice interurban waterfall and very secluded at that.
If you are looking for something beautiful, yet a quick trip. This is the place.
I love nature
Gorgeous hidden waterfall. Walk 5 minutes and you will find it. The trip back goes up 3 tall flights of stairs so just keep that in mind in case thats a concern for anyone.
Very nice little falls and creek .There us a small parking lot, and a few stairs .Once you are down the steps there is a wonderful wooden deck /pathway that leads to the falls. Well worth it .You would never know you were right off a 4 lane road
It is very calm and peaceful place.. a wooden bridge which is surrounded by full greenery with the sound of falling water made me feel so good..its nice for a short visit about 10 min..
A lovely place and no mosquitoes yet!️
Hayden Falls is a hidden gem and easy to miss. The falls are surrounded by sheer cliffs in the gorge. Quite pretty. Youll need a wide angle lens to capture it fully. Very small parking lot and a 50 step staircase to the walkway to the falls lower viewing area. There are also two upper level viewing areas accessible by walking up the sidewalk along the road. Very worthwhile. Sign is small and does not say Hayden Falls. It is part of the Griggs Dam metropark.
Beautiful little park. Small wooden walkway over a creek that ends at the waterfall.
A waterfall with the amazing short boardwalk.. I thank my friend for taking me there..
Nice boardwalk over the water leading to the falls. Shear rock walls on each side. I’ll go back when it’s not 14 deg and the observation deck is covered in ice.
A small park tucked in a bustling highly trafficked area. A long staircase leads you down to a wooded boardwalk to the falls. It’s extraordinarily peaceful, and stark contrast to the world “just outside”. Only ding is limited parking. I hear it’s especially beautiful after rains or when ice sculptures form under the falls in freezing conditions.
Such a stunning place and so accessible
Its a small but beautiful fall in the middle of the town.....away from all the hustle..I visit this place almost every week..
Its a very nice little waterfall, but you cannot interact with it in any way. Its very accessible from a small (six or eight or so) car park, down a couple flights of stairs, and along a short (three or four minute walk) wooden boardwalk. Once you reach the terminus of the path, you are only intended to enjoy the view of the waterfall and not much else.
Beautiful little place you wouldnt expect in that area of Ohio
There honestly isnt much to see here outside of the waterfall, so if there hasnt been a lot of rain, dont waste your time.It was completely dry the first time I saw it and flowing at about 25% the second time. We only went the second time out of stubbornness after it had rained a bit.The stairs and bridge take about 3 minutes before you hit the waterfall and have no further to go, so dont expect this to be a long jaunt. Definitely dont go unless you happen to be in the area and need fresh air.
Fair warning, this park is small. A path to the waterfall and back. Very little parking. I thought it would be more. The view was pretty, but there just wasnt much to it.
Parking sucks, the homeless girl under the overpass is probably the best part
I gave it 4 stars, because there are deep steps down to the falls. The boardwalk is about 1000 feet to the falls. Parking is off Hayden Run Road and is marked “GRIGGS NATURE PRESERVE”
A wonderful small park in middle of the town ..its unbelieveable beauty after a snowy day..
We took a quick stop during our long driver road trip...This location and the falls are amazing and pretty... These falls are hidden In the middle of a big city area... Few stairs down the boardwalk and you are there... The parking lot is little small and you might have to wait few minutes to get a spot during busy times...
Absolutely beautiful but WAY too small unfortunately
Thought there would be more trail, or a falls. Nope. Too crowded for the nothing that was there.
A beautiful spot right in the middle of the city. With the falls and all of the trees its easy to believe that youre far from the city. A spot of calm that is easy to visit!!!!
Faythes Mission PhotographyBeautiful spot for photo sessions.Wonderful for natural art.
Pretty, Amazing, beautiful. Worth taking a detour. Close to the corn field.
Apparently changed the name and maps took me the wrong way down Hayden Run but cool little place.
Very nice! There are several stairs you need to take to get down there but worth the steps
Its a nice place. But it is a short walk and to see the waterfall you will have to come in the spring.
Nice little gem, gets dry if no rain. But still pretty. Its become pretty popular over the years. There are rocks you can sit on if you don’t mind going over the fence.
Beautiful waterfall. Area was frosty from fall, incredible sights
Nice walk . Very tranquill.
Waterfalls were dry. Stream was just a trickle.
Very small Parking lot and disappointing to see all the trash in such a beautiful place. But I love going above and below the waterfall
Wonderful boardwalk to an amazing ridge lined waterfall. Worth the tight parking.
The falls were pretty but people jumped the fence to play on the rocks and in the water. If it was meant to be played in, there would be access, but there is isnt....so get out.The stairs are are very steep so those with issues should probably not attempt. Good for a quick 2 minute look.
I went here yesterday with my girlfriend, her roommate, and their dogs. The parking was awful and had very limited spaces so people were parking in grass and in areas you technically couldnt park. There is a handicap parking spot available but this location is absolutely not handicap accessible and had a series of stairs that could pose a problem for elderly people as well. The park has a long boardwalk-like walkway to a lookout where you can view the waterfall, it is not easy to access the water (clearly the intent). We climbed over and picked the dogs up through the side of the walkway and were able to let them play. If your dogs really dislike water, I highly recommend not bringing them here. There isnt much space and the single area where people were swimming was fairly littered and busy with families. The scenery is pretty nice, but the crowds and roadways nearby make it difficult to have that inner city escape I was anticipating. I do photography and can say this isnt the photo opportunity youd expect, but the place isnt awful by any means. Could certainly use some cleaning of the trash and debris around the creekside. There were no hours posted in this park, very limited information available for visitors, and overall just an okay experience.
Nice hidden gem. Youd never know it was there just driving by. Not really for hiking, but great for scenic views of a rare waterfall in Columbus. The waterfall was bigger than I expected it to be! Not much parking, maybe only 8 spots, but its never too crowded. Also dog friendly, just make sure they dont jump the walking deck! Recommend if you want a quick stop at a park, but not for extensive stay, mainly because there really isnt much other than the waterfall.
When we were there late in July there was no water over the falls and there is no sign that says Hayden Park. We drove past it initially since the sign had a different name.
Gorgeous short walk, well maintained and pleasant hideaway from the hubbub of the city
Beautiful oasis North of the city.
The falls where dry, but beautiful walk
Nice place near Dublin. Beautiful creek view and a small waterfall that flows to the Scioto river. Very limited parking, restriction in getting down, ducks and cranes makes the place a natural beauty in the heat of city.
I never heard of this place until I started working in Dublin. A scenic waterfall that is seemingly hidden from the world. Right next to the scioto river at Hayden Run
Very nice. Small but nice.
Great little place!!! Hidden jem in the city! Great for pictures
