This park is also the location of the Bear Canyon Suspension bridge trailhead. There are restrooms and a play area for kids and the kid at heart. There are picnic tables and water fountains. This would be a great place for a date, family get together, or a solo venture. I recommend this park. I will be back.
Its a great hike. Being older I did not make it up to the bridge. Its all uphill. Its a little over 2 miles, but it actually matters which trail you take up and down. Id rate it moderate to nearly difficult. Family friendly for older kids over 10. My grand kids age 11-17 did great. And take water!
Good paved parking lot. Bathroom. Some parking for vehicles with horse trailers. But get there early. the day I was there just regular cars were parking in all the trailer parking spots. Can park along the sides of the Corner Canyon dirt road too. The trail is pretty steep for mountain bikes until you get up to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail (BST). Its rideable for a fit intermediate rider, but probably not for a beginner. Its easy enough for hikers. The photo was taken not to far from the trailhead (TH) on the BST. I didnt take a pic of it today but this is the TH that gives easiest access to the suspension bridge. You should hike or ride up there to see it.
A great place to walk/hike around with great views of the valley. If I lived closer I would definitely visit more often. We took the bridge loop trail, but there seemed to be many other options. The forks in the trails were well marked so we didnt get lost. Please be respectful of the conservation efforts, though, and dont cut across the switch backs.
Safe hike for littles. I took my 5, 3, and 1yo (he was in a carrier) on the hike. They loved the bridge
Crowded parking lots, but beautiful views. Great short loop.
We love going to Orson Smith Park using the Bonneville Shoreline Trail from Hidden Valley Park. It is a beautiful 5 mile out and back trail run. (It is nice to still be out on a trail, RUNNING, without fatigue from elevation gain!)The bathrooms are always clean, and the drinking fountain down at Orson Smith Park gives our pup water before heading back.It is a popular trail, so parking can be an issue on weekends. Thats when we opted to run from Hidden Valley Park in Sandy to visit the suspension bridge.
It was a nice hike on the trail. Very scenic a good trail for a beginner like me.
Took the trail to the suspension bridge. Great park with great trails neatly kept and marked. I cant wait to go back in the Spring. Amazing views.
The park itself is more of just some picnic tables and bathrooms. There is a trail head here leading up to a suspension bridge. It wasnt real difficult and our kiddos loved it. The hike was more of what I gave the 4 star rating. The park isnt an awesome place to hang for more than about 3 minutes.
This location provides easy access to a whole set of trails. I took the trail to the Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge. It was a nice walk and not too difficult. The views of the valley are also pretty.
Access to beautiful trails and the suspension bridge. Recent addition of more parking spaces. Draper City keeps the bathrooms clean. Water fountains available near the bathrooms
Great hike. Recommend the Bear Canyon Loop by the Bridge.
This trail is great if you do not want to do a long hike but you want to get out for some exercise.
Nice little hike, gets busy at sunset with tourists
Fun little park with fairly easy hiking trails. No shade so bring lots of water and sunscreen
This is a great hike for families and the scenery is beautiful!
Good entrance to bonneville shoreline. Bridge is worth seeing.
Great place to hike. Close and well managed. Today, however, the Draper Police were writing citations for parking on Highland Drive. So inappropriate—what jerks. Otherwise, this is a great place to get some exercise and see the valley.
Great place for easy/moderate hike.
Great trailhead for multiple destinations
Great Trails to do with Grandkids . Suggest early morning, today was very hot 95 and no shade. But had a good time checking out the suspension Bridge and other Trails . Gorgeous view of Draper and the whole Valley .
Nice place to get outside on some fun trails
Beautiful views and not too difficult of a hike. I took my mom there and she enjoyed it
Took 4 kids ages 3, 4, 8, and 10 did the hole hike in an hour and 15 minutes. Exposed hike so do it on a cooler day. My kids really enjoyed the bridge! Great family hike!
Great area with easy access to trails tailored to any skill level. Beautiful views of the valley. The suspension bridge offers beautiful views of the stream below and is fun for kids and adults alike
Great trail for getting away from civilization for a while, but close enough that it doesnt take all day to drive there. My complaint is that its too popular with the locals. I had to wake at 4:30am so I could be by myself for a while. It was either wake up early, or go during the hottest part of the day.Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I hope you do too.
Great little park/trailhead with drinking water and flushable toilets, but not a lot of parking. Plan on getting there early.
Very Serene, absolutly solitary, not a person to be seen. Great place for meditation.
Amazing hike! Took the kids and dogs on this short hike and had a blast. There is little to no shade but there is a lot of different things going on to keep everyone interested. The bridge at the top is very cool even though I am terrified of heights. It felt great to overcome one of my fears to cross the huge bridge. Highly recommend to anyone looking for something active to take the kids to do, just make sure to put on sunscreen!
Nice trails. Good starting point to get to the Bear Creek suspension bridge.
Fun light trail
Easy hike to do with ny 4 and 6 yr old nieces.
Beautiful freshair ez access bathrooms
We really liked this hike. Several trails to choose from. The short tail took get to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail (BST) is a little steep and turny. But dont give up, the main trail is a pretty simple hike, and the views of Salt Lake valley are nice.We didnt go on the loop trail, we just walked along BST for a few miles. If sun is NOT your thing, go early. The loop looks like it has enough trees, but BST does not.Take water. The trail head park had bathrooms and drinking fountain, but, you knew, eww There is plenty of developed parking too.
Nice place for Enjoy the mountains!
We have hiked the trail to the suspension bridge here many times! This is a beautiful place!
Small park that is really just a trailhead. Limited parking and crowed. People love the access to the trails. The holes are the best part.
Nice little hike. Go in Spring or early summer when the wild flowers are in bloom! On the south side of the suspension bridge, be sure and take the time to hike the old trail that heads east from the new bridge. A brief hike will take you to the old red bridge. A quaint little spot by the river that is worth the extra few minutes it takes to hike the old route.
Awesome park/trailhead with access to some great trails. Just be sure to read up on which trails are shaded before you go. For example Ghost falls is super shaded from the trailhead accessed by the dirt road. However the suspension bridge trail was sun exposed almost the entire time - just ask my neck!Still great trails and easy enough for kids. We took our 8, 4 and 1 yr old.
Fun hike for the family. Easy and short enough for young kids.
Nice clean trail head. Good hike, nice trails, moderate traffic, nice views from different locations and the suspension bridge is pretty cool.
Pretty little park up on the east bench.Good access to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail.
Cute little park with entrance to several interconnected trails, as well as historical markers providing information on Utahs past.
Beautiful place I recommend it if you like running.
Beautiful hikes and well maintained.Dont go on Tuesday or Wednesday during the summer. Lots of young adults.
Great spot to start your hike. Get there early as its popular.
Great trailhead with access to many different options.
Great trails, nice inclines which really get your heart pumping, and just a great time.
Great hikes. Parking is limited in the morning. Not a lot of shade.
Nice hiking trail, not much of a park
Clean parking area with water and a bathroom. This is a great launch point to enjiy the trails in the area.
Really fun, the people are nice. If you are looking for a short hike with a beautiful view you came to the right place
This is a great place to access several trails. The downside is that parking is limited, so you need to be there early. There are restrooms and drinking fountains. Most of the trails are dog-friendly, and the ones that arent are clearly marked.
Easy to walk thru, the bridge is very nice
Cute park. With good hiking access.
Good hub for a bunch of trails. Has a bathroom and drinking fountain.
Easy nice hike. Love the options of more difficult trails. Nice restroom at parking lot. Very little shade. Hot by 930am.
We hiked to the suspension bridge. It is a quick 1 mile hike, not too difficult. Our kids (8, 5 and 3) could all hike it. The bridge was cool to see and walk across.
Fantastic running trails up to Bonneville Shoreline.
Great family hike. The suspension bridge was awesome. There is not a playground at the park so dont plan on that. Pet friendly.
Access to Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge trail. Enjoyed this hike with 6 year old, 3 year old, and 6 month old. Go in the morning or evening for the shade. This was a popular trail on Labor Day and we had to wait to finds parking spot.
Bathrooms clean. Play area for the little ones. Several different trails to walk. Trails not paved.
Orson Smith Trailhead is a wonderful location to start a hike or a mountain bike ride. However if you just want to relax there are nice places to sit and restrooms.
Parking lot is too small. Good access to trails, but the trails arent that great.
Great hikes to go along with the park. I saw many bikers along the trails as well. Lots to do.
Great hike for families, with a cool suspension bridge.
Out door and great Scenic views
My favorite and also my first hike when I came to Utah.
Great cool weather trails! No shade for hot days. Restrooms at trailhead. Upper Bonneville shoreline has nice gentle biking hills.
Dog friendly but no water station for dogs so bring a bowl for the drinking fountain
Easy hike but its a bit of a hill climb but very nice view Ill definitely be doing this again before it gets cold this year
Excellent views
Lovely family oriented hiking trail head
We started a hike here to the Bear Canyon Bridge. The park is nice with shade, bathrooms, and water fountains. My kids also played on the little rock wall.
Starting spot for some trails and an access point for other trails. Park needs some maintenance. Services were closed for the season but signs were posted and easy to read.
Nice trailhead with modern facilities
Draper parks does it again! Great trail access, restrooms open year round! Ample Parking for equestrians. Thanks Draper!
Great place with the fam
This is a great little hike if youve got an hour or so to kill. The bridge is a pretty cool sight!
Great hiking trail!
This is a jumping off point for many biking trails in Draper. People wishing to ride the Rush Trail down Corner Canyon should go from here up the Upper Corner Canyon Road to the last trail head on the road. You can either shuttle up with a buddy or ride up. Both are fun but in the summer when its hot its nice to take turns driving up and down.
Nice hikes from this park. Very little shade
Amazing place to be in family! Wonderfull view of Sandy Valey. Be prepared to be wonder!
That’s where you park to get to the suspension bridge hike
If youre looking for a less crowded place to park when riding the Corner Canyon Trails this is the place. It has a bathroom and picnic tables too.
This park is very pretty and majestic! Peace james!
Nice hike, pretty views, good for kids and can take a dog.
Its a fun hike fordamilies
Great hike. Sweet bridge built by a local engineer who wanted a project. Beautiful views.
Beautiful hike and vistas
Great place to start a hike. Several trails to choose from.
Entrance to some casual and not so trails.
Good hikes, mountainbike or parapente opportunities, easy trails recommended for family trips, training, and solo adventures.
Great pathways, small but decent playground. Close easy trails.
Super busy on the weekends. Pretty clam and nice on the weekends.
Close to corner canyon in draper, this area is beautiful and I wish I lived there.
