Incredible facility with five star service. The cocktail hour, followed by a 4 course meal, breathtaking views and comfy accommodations. You cant lose!
I read the reviews after returning from Five Rivers Lodge. I just returned from there on 27 May 2017. Four nights and three days of the best fly fishing on the Big Hole and Beaverhead rivers. My son had experience fly fishing but it was my first time. I took lessons at a Orvis store prior to showing up in Dillon, Montana. While my son wanted to catch fish, I reached out for guidance. Troy and Wes helped me out a lot. They went out of their way making multiple passes in a drift boat at the Rainbow and Brown trout. My son and I caught more than our fair share of trout everyday. I pulled three browns out of a great spot in 10-15 minutes (thanks Wes). The food greatly exceeded my expectations. Coffee, muffins, and cereal at 6 a.m. with made to order eggs, bacon or sausage at 7 a.m. Drinks and Hors doeuvres at 6 p.m. and a five course dinner starting at 7 p.m. in the dining room (outstanding view of the snow-capped mountains). The smoked butter, smoked salt, smoked duck were excellent as was the veal (w/capers) and pork tenderloin (w/glaze and berries). For desert... homemade Carrot cake, German chocolate cake and ice cream with Huckleberries (thanks Mason). We had Ben and Jerry Cherry Garcia ice cream on the last day (Jay is working on his own recipe). The staff knows how to serve dinner and wine from the correct side of the table. Its not possible to leave the table hungry. We rolled out of the dining room stuffed. As for the negative comment someone posted years ago, it is not in disrepair. I saw no undesirable wildlife in the room or anywhere else in the lodge. The rooms (beautiful view of the mountains) were clean and the beds made daily. All the people at Five Rivers really know how to host folks. Great value, Ill be back. The photos below are a view from the dining room.
Food awesome, host incredible, unbelievable view, quiet.
My wife and I stayed at Five Rivers Lodge midweek this past July. It was great. It was her first time fly fishing and it was a great decision to introduce her to the sport I love while at the lodge. The guides are great, the fishing has so much variety that somewhere the fishing is always on. The food, all cooked by Jay, is amazing. We fished, eat and slept in first class. It is a wonderful place.
5 Rivers Lodge deserves a solid 5 stars. Great location with fabulous food. A comfortable atmosphere, spacious rooms and a personable owner/host who really makes you feel like a guest, not just a customer. The lodge itself is located in a beautiful valley with nice views out every window. Centrally located among a wide variety of fishing opportunities so we didn’t have the long drives that I have had at other lodges. Finally, the food was the best I have ever had at a lodge. Appetizers were served in the bar/living room. Very casual and relaxing. The dinners were just great. Very creative and something to look forward to.I’m looking forward to going back.
Always a pleasure to stay at 5 Rivers Lodge. Great rooms. Great food. Great fishing. Great inn keepers. Going back again this year.
Amazing experience. Warm and inviting. Fabulous food, pleasant and helpful staff, Jay and Mary are the best! Spectacular view and genius guides. We cant wait to come back.
The lodge sits amid the valley bordered by the Pioneer Mountains. If you like 6 course gourmet meals, this is the place for you. The main dining area is large enough to accommodate large groups and is clean with windows on 3 sides. Rooms are large and comfortable. The staff is friendly, courteous and attentive. The fishing is 5-Star Montana. An excellent guide staff will have you smiling all day long. The only mice I saw in my wonderful stay were computer mice. The owners are dedicated to ensuring your stay is memorable.
I had my first visit to 5RL last year. The fishing was outstanding and I give much of the credit to the great professional guides. The accommodations were very spacious, nicely furnished and very comfortable. They are not just another hotel room. The food was exceptional and could very easily compete with any 5 star restaurant. The owners made you feel at home and catered to your every need.I am going again this year and I highly recommend this great fishing lodge.
I have been to Five Rivers Lodge too many times to count. Between the lodge, food, fishing and guides this is the finest fishing operation I have been to in Montana. The service is excellent the guides are knowledgeable and the fishing is outstanding. What I like the most is that we can fish so much water in one trip.
Five Rivers Lodge has provided me with great food, wonderful hospitality and exceptional fishing opportunities.I’ve been fortunate to have stayed at the lodge on several occasions and always come home with lasting memories.
I have hosted groups of Fly Fishermen to this Lodge for the Past 24 plus years and we all have had the best Lodging and fishing experience.Food is better than most other lodges and with truly five rivers near by to fish what more could you ask for.
Nine years ago, I made my first trip to Five Rivers Lodge. I chose this lodge in large-part because of the fantastic selection of fly fishing opportunities. Im going back in June, which will be my 10th consecutive year staying at this lodge. My reasons for going back year-after-year are now numerous. The fishing is consistently beyond comparison - the guides are the best in Southwest Montana; the large, nicely appointed, double-occupancy guest rooms are cleverly separated by a step down and partial-height partition, which provides a nice separation between roommates; the food is superb - gourmet quality and plentiful; and Jay and Mary, the lodge owners, are the nicest, most charming hosts you could ever hope for! Five Rivers Lodge is operated as a well-oiled machine, catering to the guests needs and special requirements - all of which combine to make a stay a Five Rivers Lodge a memorable, rewarding experience. Its no wonder that it is frequented by so many known fly fishing greats. I highly recommend this lodge!
Five Rivers is a special place. The owners, Jay and Mary, work harder than anyone to provide each guest with a unique and personal experience, and the waters and scenery surrounding the stately lodge are without parallel. Whether youre an avid flyfisher or a first timer, Five Rivers provides everything youll need, from the very best equipment to the most experienced professional fishing guides. If you need to get away, to unwind with family or friends, or even make a new connection with a fellow guest, Five Rivers is the place to be.The lodge is also a perfect location for a corporate retreat or conference, with a number of major airports in the area (Bozeman Yellowstone is the closest major airport, and Beaverhead County Airport takes planes through G4).My time at the lodge was just perfect and I cant wait to go back soon.
If I could give less than 1 star as a review, believe me, I would. This place is filthy, the sink runs brown water, and the owner is just plain rude. You would be better off staying at a Motel 6. The only plus side to this place is the view.
The place looks like its falling apart. Mice everywhere. Rude owner. Wouldnt recommend to anyone.
The place looks like its falling apart and looks deserted. Wow! Cant believe its closed in July.
