Love this store. They do set themselves apart from competition. They’ve got a huge selection of homemade and local items.Pricey, yes. I’ve also never been disappointed. But the employees and owners work so very hard for each other and their customers.I highly recommend !!!!

This is the only review Ive ever written about a business and Im only writing this to warn you before purchasing anything here. If you arent sure about what you should pay for crystals, this is not a good example. Prices here are OUTRAGEOUS. Quite literally 300-400% higher than any other metaphysical store Ive ever been to. Only one employee was working and she made my girlfriend and I incredibly uncomfortable the entire time we visited, following us around and being unforgivingly awkward. Never wanted to leave a place quicker.

Crystals were a bit overpriced but in this economy, I get it! Staff was patient and helpful when asked questions. This certain shop is holding a Halloween event on Saturday, October 31st 2020. Which will display spooky themed art & more. Plan to check it out and charge my crystals under the full moon after!Blessed Be

Huge, super cute shop with friendly staff and cute finds. That said, the price of minerals and crystals is frankly absurd. I thought Id scope this place because they seem to have more variety than the other local shops, but YIKES. It was completely dead inside and I think I know why; $20 for a small clear quartz point? Holy cow. I think Ill stick to Etsy....the exact same thing there cost me $2, maybe $5 with shipping. I worry inexperienced buyers in the area dont know any better and would pay it. I realize it might be a tough market in the midwest but theres a line between profit and pilfering.

Antoinette & Sarah were absolutely amazing! I have been driving past the shop several times and Ive always been drawn to it but never stopped until today!Antoinette is absolutely amazing! As soon as I walked in I felt a sense of calm and happiness. I did a reading with her and she detected everything that has been troubling me. Even told me that I need to take care of my blood sugar! I just came from the doctors office and we had a discussion about that so for her to pin point that was crazy!Ive seen some reviews talking about how pricey it is compared to some other shops and I dont have a lot of money, but Ill tell you it was the best experience!

Loved coming to this store I found lots of cute and useful things. I wish SO BAD that I could remember the name of the young lady who helped me I think it might have been Antoinette??? She had medium length brown curly hair with clips in as well as another young lady who was dusting the store you guys were so awesome. I wasn’t having a good day and they totally flipped it around by some very wonderful conversation. I much prefer to support a local metaphysical shop as opposed to supporting a place like spencers Or please corporate owned. Makes me so happy to know that I’m supporting some really awesome woman. I traveled all the way from Ames just to come here and I wasn’t disappointed. I will be honest with my opinion though and say that’s the prices were a little high on some items but I was able to find things that I really wanted for fairly reasonable prices. Will be returning!

Antoinette is an amazing woman. Super sweet and helpful, even threw in a free citrine crystal! :) My friend and I had a reading with psychic medium Jeff, and it was a very interesting reading. Very different from any other reading/experience with the spirit world. Would highly recommend to any of my friends, super cute business.

Decided not to have a reading but the lady wanted me to pull a couple cards anyway, she told me the first one was about new opportunities and if I find myself unsure on the decision I should go for it. And not 25 min later on my way back home, someone called me about a new job I had applied forpretty spot on if you ask me!!

First time going here. Very cool place. It is not a head shop. It is not a weird place. Lots of interesting things to do with and not to do with the occult. Lots of really cool rocks and geodes. There is something for everyones price range. They also do pyshcic readings by appointment if youre into that. Great selection of incense at good prices. Staff was kind and helpful and made the shopping experience comfortable.

I had gone to see antoinette for a bit of a balancing and healing. I felt relaxed and finally able to breath. The shop is very friendly and very aware of the times. Disinfecting and making sure everyone that comes in are safe. I would recommend this shop for anyone

Very friendly staff. Kinda hidden gem even though its right on a main road. Clean and well organized. The lady there was very easy to talk with. Only thing that needs changed is the pricing. 25+ dollars for a small bundle of white sage is a lot when ancient ways has it for way cheaper.

Horrible experience with this shop. Its a neat building, but the way its set up inside sucks. Incredibly hard to shop. Not to mention, everything is incredibly overpriced. There are other shops in town you buy the same products from for significantly less. Felt pressured by staff. Not to mention the store owner was still holding public events during a pandemic.

We stopped in here on a road trip to grab some items I needed for cleansing. Prices seemed high compared to where I normally shop, but didnt have time to try to shop around. Not that big of a deal. The lady was nice and not pushy. However, I regrettably asked for a reading with Phsycic Jeff. This guy is appalling. I had to leave the reading because his negative energy was making me physically ill. He told us to write down questions and if he doesnt answer then before the end of the reading, we could ask them. He didnt hit in any of them and was so ridiculously all over the place and general. Never made it to an end where I even wanted to ask him the questions we wrote down. He told my husband to quit his job to work on construction, then be a lumberjack, then be an inventor or do something with advertising! He said I was flighty, only with my husband for his money, he asked my husband if he cheated on me. Why would any of this be pertinent? He also told me to go on a diet and that I shouldnt drink pop, its bad for me. I dont drink pop. I drink mostly water. He also said no drugs, no pets but we should magically have a second kid that I cant have and we dont want... I dont use drugs and I have 3 incredible pets that make my life better every damn day. Something about energy coming off animals and effecting us negatively. The only people Ive ever seen effected negatively by animals are negative beings so maybe he shouldnt have animals because they likely do not like him. He was a misogynistic jerk. When I walked out, he said he needed to say things to my husband he couldnt say when I was around. My husband comes out to tell me that this guy told him women lie, I dont care if hes small and he will never be the man in bed! WHAT THE HELL?! On what planet is this a psychic reading? This guy didnt get anything right, especially not regarding personal matters like he said to my husband. I wanted to circle back and give them a piece of my mind and ask for a refund. I wish I had this recorded so I could share this stupidity with the world. Do not go here. I do not remotely recommend this hell hole . Im fairly certain this narcissistic guy gets his jollies off trying to pit couples against one another. Unreal. I guess we got our moneys worth in entertainment and laughs. My husband and I certainly took away that we are great together and everything that came out of that guys mouth was absolute garbage.

I love New Age Shop. Sure it is a little pricey, but you just cannot beat the friendliness and the knowledge the ladies gave me. I will be going back.

Energy is dull & odd First time in the shop. For one the prices are way to high for small pieces of tumbled crystals. I felt one of the employees there was way to persistent. She stopped talking to customers she was attending to stop me on the way out and ask if we had any questions or if we needed anything in a very odd way. The energy there isnt great. This is my personal experience by the way. Ive been practicing my beliefs for 10 years and can pick up on very dull energy, this place gave me a headache instantly as I walked in. I feel this shop is in need of a little more honesty and sincerity, aswell as some tranquility. The lady there was all over the place trying to help everyone at once with answer that seemed skeptical. Very nice building and the ambition that they have to try and sell is admirable. In conclusion, this store isnt for me, I respect everyone and again this is just my opinion so I dont mean to disrespect anyone but the energy wasnt all sincere.

I dont even understand how this place can stay running. Some of the items in there are very cheaply made and selling for 50 to 80 bucks. Cheap wood boxes with a scribble on it woodburner. I can understand trying to sell local art or whatever .. but for that price I can make myself and it look 100 times better for like less than 5$...The prices are outrageous on everything! The stuff sits so long it is covered in dust, no longer has a smell(if it it used to) the sage smudges are seriously expensive, as the other shops are selling bigger ones at like 15 and 5 bucks and better quality.. the one ine lady in there has been truly awkward and somewhat rude the few times we been in there and the stones are nothing worth what they are asking.. Ill stick to the other 2 shops in town that have way better quality items and way lower prices..not sure how anyone would want to spend that much for hardly anything. And the vibes in there are not good. I usually never write reviews, but I feel too many may be getting ripped off or not know there is way cheaper and better quality and vibe stores in the area ..with way better and friendlier staff ..

Love the selection and fair pricing! The staff is always so helpful and thoughtful. I always enjoy going to their monthly physic fairs; I had an amazing reading the last time I went with multiple of the wonderful physics they host. I have excellent experiences every time I go and always leave feeling energized!

I had a lovely experience at the shop, I didnt come in looking for something in particular, but what I found was beautiful.I met Antoinette and she showed me around the store and was very helpful. We chatted for a while about life, and friends and its just what I needed. I didnt have alot of money, only about 2 dollars and I asked if she had anything to help me release old energy for less than 2 dollars and she generously gifted me a piece of earthy selenite. I was very grateful and thanked her, she thanked me as well for being honest and not being a thief lol. All in all it was a great experience and I highly recommend to stop in! I went for the first time and while being in the store felt an instant what I call danger energy. Just a heavy icky energy that was hard to shake. Told the man what I was looking for and my problem and he didnt give suggestions and actually told me he was busy putting stock away. So looking at the tumbles I was shocked at how much they were priced. Like I have a super impressive collection that outdid anything they were selling and I couldnt believe just how super expensive everything was. I am sure they like beginners as who would pay 22 dollars for an amethyst tumble? Originally wanted an energy cleanse but found what looked like plain table salt in shakers. Candles were almost 3 times more than the current place I buy them. I buy tons of jewelry and even wire wrap but no way would I have paid what they were asking. Never will go back. Owner seriously needs to adjust her pricing as she will definitely price herself out of the market for sure. Also hire employees that have knowledge of what you are selling. Luckily I have extensive knowledge of crystals and rocks and ran out of that store. Ill have e to stick mainly with my favorite stores and businesses that sell top quality stones that are reasonable.

WAY overpriced. I was extremely disappointed to see a small tumbled piece of amethyst or rose quartz that should have been $2-15, she was selling for $22-75. ABSOLUTELY NOT. I went to the Hippy shop and they had great prices and a decent selection as well as a much friendlier staff. Not to mention PROPER PRICES. Severely disappointed in this shop, the owner needs to check herself on prices or find a new whole sale dealer because she is either trying to make a huge profit or stupidly purchasing her stock at retail prices.

I really enjoy the store and the passion of the employees. They have checked up on me after horrendous times with compassion and filled with suggestions. Prices are high, yes so are all stores getting established. Being self employed is difficult!!! Taxes kill them they have to make money to improve the merchandise for sale. Everytime I come in they treat my daughter and I as regulars and never judge my situation and passionate about keeping energy constructive and never evil!!!

If you are looking for crystals, minerals, unique gifts, spiritual guidance, tarot, etc, this is the best place in town to go..... the staff are excellent, knowledgeable and extremely kind. They also host a psychic fair once a month with lectures/talks and outside vendors that come in and are able to do readings and sell their items.... Highly recommend.

Just getting started in the New Age and Spirituality thing, walked in to this shop and just immediately felt at home. Antionette was fantastic with her customer service and very obviously had a wealth of information and knowledge at her disposal and genuinely seemed more than happy to help. Overall a fantastic experience, and a shop I will be patronizing again.

Fun and funky is how I would describe the Des Moines New Age Shop. They have some interesting items and the staff seems to know in detail everything they sell. They also offer classes and personal services as well.The only drawback I can see is that they need to offer more products for the available space they have. This is understandable because it takes time to grow a business, which they are doing. Im sure if they dont carry it, they would be happy to order it.Five stars

Visited for the first time, I was not very impressed. Although they have a decent selection, their prices are outrageous! I also had a very uneasy vibe the whole time I was there, I was followed around the whole time by Antoinette, like she thought I was going to steal something... The owner of the shop was very pleasant to meet!

Since the move to their new location, Des Moines New Age Shop has experienced some exceptional growth. They now offer a larger selection of both their gorgeous stones and crystals as well as their insightful classes.The larger space has also given them the opportunity to offer several small fairs and events through out the year with a wonderful array of vendors.While the prices at times can be a little higher than other shops in the area the product is worth it. The shine, sparkle, and size of the stones is of great quality and the knowledge and experience of the owner and her staff is a cherry on top of the cake.This shop is a gem in and of itself.

The few times that Ive been in, the staff has been prone to hover while I made my selections. The vibes I got were negative (grievances about other competing businesses were aired by one of the staff each visit). The selection of products is nice and will do in a pinch, but it wont be my preference to return.

They were so nice and knowledgeable! Look up a photo of what the outside building looks like first. Its hard to see initially but its behind the vet clinic.

Easily the best new age shop in town! I love the wide selection, and always find GREAT presents for Christmas and birthdays. You dont have to be into new age to love the pretty rocks or unique jewelry. And if you cant find exactly what youre looking for, the owner will happily order it for you.

I have been traveling and going to alot of rock shops along the way, I stumbled across this rock shop and gave it a try. Great atmosphere and I like the way they have things set up. The man working was nice, but as I started to look around at what they have I looked at their prices.. And I was very very disappointed. I understand they need to make their money to stay in business, but their prices are ridiculous. A small simple quartz chunk (not even high quality point) was over 8 bucks and I was barely 2 inches.. They were selling selenite sticks for 18 dollars and they were maybe the size of my palm (length)... And Im not even gonna get started on how much they were selling herkimer quartz for. Any real knowledgeable rock/gem collector would understand that this is just insane and is not right to price things like they do. Not a good way to make a name for yourself, then again they said they have been in business for 7 years. I just feel bad for anyone who pays the price they have things, my collection and pricing will never be like this.

I was looking forward to purchasing some crystals and stones for personal use and gifts, hoping not to pay the high shipping prices from online vendors like Etsy. The items were vastly overpriced and some were noticeably inauthentic. On top of the overpriced items, the man working used foul language in front of my children and appeared to have absolutely zero knowledge of the crystals for sale. I would not recommend this metaphysical shop. What a disappointment.
