Derry Five Star Cinema

In a world of cookie cutter movie theaters Derry Five Star still brings a hometown vibe to the experience. Friendly staff. Good selection of movies and nice well taken care of theatre auditoriums of all different sizes.

Loved this place 5$ tickets on Tuesday and only 8$ other days has a decent arcade the people that helped me and my family out wear very warm and welcoming definitely would go back exercise was over all fantastic.

Derry 5 star Cinema is one of the most casual big time cinematic complex in New Hampshire without the crazy crowds and sky high prices. Its staff is young so be patient. They are trying their best.

One of my favorite Theater. Always clean quiet. Barely no ones there so I get to watch my movies peacefully. Staffs r great n tickets r a lot cheaper.

A hidden gem in Derry. Reasonable prices, new and classic movies, and great concessions. You are missing out if you dont see a movie here!

When I usually visit here, its like a ghost town. Theyre friendly staff just sometimes not right on top of being right where you need them. Usually this place is pretty clean. Plenty of parking for when they are busy. They do have good popcorn, my top choice of the theaters anyhow.

My family and I love this theater! It is NEVER crowded when we go we get to enjoy the entire atmosphere to ourselves. The prices are good and the popcorn is amazing.

This place is nothing like you would expect in New England. An extremely friendly and courteous staff. Prices are way better than anywhere else. Theater is clean and well kept. Will be returning with my family.

I went fairly early in the day. pretty empty but a private showing of a movie is a private showing. They were very friendly and even though I came late advised me on how much time I had to skip all the previews ensuring I wouldnt miss any of the movie.I get typical fair, popcorn and a drink, and the popcorn was pretty good.

FYI this theater has closed for the winter after selling the place to “Apple Cinemas.” Guess they couldn’t be bothered to put that info up on their website so I wouldn’t have to do detective work to find out why there’s no showtimes on the website. Kinda sucks cause I just moved to Derry and this was 8 minutes from my house.

Great prices, good shows!!I absolutely recommend this movie theater. Is usually empty and great seats are available . The popcorn is fresh made

Great movie theater. Friendly crew. Comfortable. Good selection, 12 cinemas.

It’s clean, affordable and the staff is friendly. But it’s really lacking in terms of seating. They need to step this up to compete with AMC!

The Derry Five Star Cinema is OK. The kids who work there seem inexperienced, but their manager is nearby at all times. The audio level prior to the main feature makes you strain to hear. But then the movies start and they blare by comparison. The seats are certainly low enough for children, but it makes it difficult for old people to get up after sitting for an hour and a half. So everything you would need is there; it just isnt top of the line. But it is OK

A great movie theatre for the family. Shame they closed their doors. They will be missed.

Love this theater! Nice no frills neighborhood theater. Reasonably priced tickets and food.

Hit or miss movie theater. Half the time the sound is crackling or super low. The other half its a great place. The good part is people know its hit or miss so its never busy.

The cinema was nice and the popcorn good. There are 4 things I would change though: 1. When there are 15 people in line as a manager open another Lane or help with orders dont open a ticket only Lane they just went back to or never left our line. 2. Have salt for your popcorn, how is that even possible, and cheer up kid I know your stressed but we had already been waiting 10 minutes so just look and put a smile on your face. 3. Turn the temperature up just a tad. 4 one size for your icees and theres no refill and I paid for a large if youre going to do that let me get a free refill of the soda at least. Thats fair.

I mean its in the name, has to be five stars. While the theater isnt the most up to date, the cheap prices and mostly empty theaters balance it out to make it my go to movie spot

Nice and clean cinema! Fast & friendly service at the ticket and refreshment counter! The older gentleman checking the ticket stubs to enter the movie was very nice and informative!

First time there recently. Was not familiar with how you would purchase a ticket. The box office had a sign that said to purchase tickets at the concession stand. Not too crazy, that was a very quick experience. Movie theater that I happened to see a movie in was very small. Floor was sticky. This place does not have stadium seating. And as it does not have stadium seating they also do not have reclining seats, which for me, is not a big deal. Otherwise, the movie theater seem to be clean enough. Theres a little bit of an arcade there and some seating areas if you wanted to have a birthday party there.

Rarely crowded. Cleaner than many. Comfortable seats. Pretty much up to date. All the current movie releases. All the traditional goodies and drinks. Good parking with plenty of lighting. Look for coupons.

I am disappointed in this movie theater, I was set to watch the Joker and there it goes and takes it off their screenings the day I am going to go. IT JUST CAME OUT! I am tired of all this cancel culture, I think I might just go to the londonderry movie theater from now on.

I love this theater but they need to invest in updating thier old/small theaters ....like theater 7 . we were next to a speaker that was making noise like it was not working ...we watched IT and the lights stayed Dim...prefer them off during any movie ...

This is a quaint little theatre on the far end of a quaint little town. The theatre is clean and the staff is friendly. The ticket prices are reasonable which is a plus when you’re seeing $15 AMC admissions now. Concession had the usual to offer: popcorn, pretzel, nachos, soda, water, candy, etc. I would travel out of my way for the comfort and cleanliness.

Chairs (cinema 2) were very uncomfortable. Projection and sound were good, but there is no way a matinee, 2 spring waters and a small box of candy should have cost over $20.00

Walked into completely black, just lights on steps. Had to use phone to find seat. But, seats comfortable clean movie good.

We always have a good time at Derry Five Star. My husband and I would really love to see a family day where the price was a little lower. Maybe a family movie day on a lower attendance day where there was a discount. Many theaters have a five dollar ticket day?

Clean new nice seating hugh sceens sound quality awesome.

Best movie theatre around! Employees are super nice and its really cheap as far as movie theatres go

I have been coming to this theatre for seven years now, and I love it for many reasons; it is close to home, ticket prices are very reasonable, and they have the best-tasting popcorn of any of the theatre I have been to. The staff are always friendly and helpful. In the past few months I have been seeing a movie at this theatre minimum every two weeks, and recently found out they have a rewards program, which they do not advertise. Saving up points earns you free things, such as popcorn, soda, and tickets. I most definitely come to this theatre often enough to take advantage of the rewards program, and I am so glad that I found out about it. I will continue to be a loyal patron of this theatre for as long as they are there!

Good place. Close, quiet, clean. They crank the heat when movies start, but will turn it down if asked. Gets super warm. Usually on time and staff has never been rude. Good place

We love going to this cinema. On this particular night it was not busy due to Halloween (literally it was Oct 31). And unfortunately the staff the seemed to think that meant movie goers deserved a little less. There was popcorn left in the cinema from the people prior as well as water bottle and soda. We sat back a row further than desired due to this. This is our go to cinema. I was sad to see the staff slacking on an easy night.

Good cinema with no lines. The usher can sometimes be quite rude. Has come into two movies Ive been to waving a flashlight around the dark theater. Very bizarre and distracting.

I have been going here fir years and its great. I have nothing bad to say

Good local theater. Seats arent so great for little kids. They do have a box that will go under seat to remedy the situation. Wasnt offered either times I went and only found out about it from another movie goer

This is a great place if you dont need an IMAX screen or stadium seating. Its always clean and the staff is always friendly. If you want to pay a reasonable price and avoid the crowds this place is for you.

Best place and friendly staff. All the latest movies are showcased. My most preferred cinema place.

Loved the service and Movie screen.

This place is great! So inexpensive compared to other theaters and its very clean!

Not bad... good prices

Clean and the price is good. We do not have to pick our seats a head of time. I enjoy that part of it, besides the move.

Currently sold to new owners and is closed for the winter do to renovations.

Always clean, affordable and comfortable. Lines are fast even on the busiest days/nights. The ticket collector super friendly! Love bringing my family here!

Good we were only ones in theatre

My wife looked up the times for the new spider man movie today. She looked up the time online and took my 8 yr old son and his best friend to go watch it for his birthday. When she got there she was told that the time was wrong online and they don’t control that. He walked away and anther man came over to see what the issue was. I guesss the first man was the general manager at the Derry location. The only solution they had was to pay and go watch marry poppins that had already started 30 mins already. Not even a sorry or anything. I understand that they might not control the online times but just to do nothing for my wife with 3 kids looking to see the movie. That was some great customer service. With so many movie theaters in the Derry area looks like you guys can just afford to let people walk out. Way to go!!!!

Always clean. Nice atmosphere. Plenty of parking. Seat comfort fair but not the big reclining chairs.

Amazing place to watch a movie!

Pleasant service, clean facility, and they still honor matinee showings.

Nice clean and quiet environment. I go to the movies a lot.. I enjoy very much this place

This is my favorite movie theater in all of Greater Manchester. There IS stadium seating, contrary to what another reviewer said, the prices are reasonable, the staff is very nice, the popcorn is delicious and the sodas are not diluted, and they give you the popcorn seasoning for FREE. I would always choose this theater over any other local theater and I am a movie buff who goes to the movies at least three or four times a month.

Instant Family is an excellent movie. A Comedy with a good mix of emotions.

Nice theater but you cant choose (reserve) your seats. No recliners but the seats do rock!

2 old needs updating not comfortable

Sorry to tell you they closed this place.

This Cinema is very clean, and easy to reach from Rt. 93. Nice seats, great picture on the screen and good sound. Not least, pleasant, helpful staff. We would definitely return.

First run movies, comfortable seating, good concessions, and inexpensive tickets. Whats not to like?

Clean and affordable the staff are helpful as well.

The prices are high for food like anywhere. The ticket for a mattena are $6 and adult tickets are $9 but overall its pretty good since its not always packed.

Weve been going here for years and its always been great (if too cold) until today. $30 for tickets (2 for myself and grandson for one movie and 2 for my son his partner for a different movie). Another $10+ for popcorn and candy and the manager wouldnt let me bring in my nalgene bottle of water from home, even though Ive been allowed to bring in water in the past. We sell water here. Well maybe I dont want the popcorn then. You dont HAVE to buy it. Thats your choice Id rather have my clean local water than water bottled in NJ, thank you. I looked at the cashier and said Gee, if Id snuck it in my coat pocket it wouldnt be an issue. So much for honesty. Its not like we were sneaking things in and not like we werent supporting their concession stand. If you cant allow a senior citizen a lousy bottle of water, she wont be making future purchases.

Free refills comfee seats

As I was buying my tickets to see Slendernan with my daughter, the boy behind the concession stand counter told me hed seen it and it was a dumb movie. Then, 5 minutes into the movie the screen went black and I had to walk all the way back to the stand where he said yeah, it does that and by the time I got back in the theater the movie had begun again, so I missed 10 minutes from the movie I had just spent $33.50 on ($13.50 for two tickets and $20 on popcorn and soda).

Clean not a bad place to see a movie

Always nice and clean. movie tickets are reasonable and ticket collector is great guy who always is welcoming and friendly.oh and best pop corn ever!!! not sure why.

We got their turkey dinner and fish fry.The turkey meal with all the fixings and fish fry. The haddok was moist and everything was absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and prompt. The bathroom was very clean and well stoched up. Definitely would recommend it and would go again.

Love their movie theater amazing popcorn and snacks

Needs to be updated. But overall good experience

Fine theater. Is it too much to ask for moderately healthy snacks and drinks to feed my kid?

Seats getting runned down, service was slow. Weekday night so tickets and concessions done at the same place.

The movies always start late. Too many commercials.

This has been the theater I have gone to to see movies for more than 5 years, I can remember what it looked like then... because it still looks the same, same carpet, same colors, same snack choices, & same ticket booth, when it was Flagship Cinema it had a light post in the center, now there is none, not much of a change after it changed to 5 Star Cinema, arcade is okay, air hockey is good & should stay but other games are kinda boring, never seen the party area being used, honestly looks like an awkward place to have any party, but most of the time the theater rooms are clean, bathrooms are always clean, staff is never rude, & it is not a bad place to go on the weekend, but it is in desperation for a makeover, even painting the walls would be nice.

There movie tickets are cheaper than most cinemas and even cheaper if you go to the matinee shows

Small but a great place! The staff is good and prices are great

Nice place. Aways friendly and clean

Its a nice theater the staff exhibit competence and a friendly demeanor.

Nothing crazy but nice small theaters

Flickering lights the whole movie. Doesnt seem like its kept well. Other than that its a movie theater

Great theater for the price.

Great for dates, great for flicks

This theatre isnt the best place to enjoy a movie out. No stadium seating here, and the popcorn tastes like cardboard. Best thing I can say is the place is clean, but thats really it.

Very convenient and close to my town during the week is the best time to go.

Good, solid place with reasonable prices and comfortable seats. No moving chairs or IMAX, but regular and 3D movies.

Nice, I need of a little renovation but I likedit!

Favorite theater. Fast lines and its clean. Not insanely overpriced either!

No long lines. Comfortable seating

Comfy seats, not too crowded, definitely Way better than the AMC cinema in Londonderry. It is my go to movie theater.

Old theater with limited seating, I think it was a 120 seat theater, with old uncomfortable seats. Went there to watch Star Wars Last Jedi and was not impressed. It seemed that the sound stage was biased towards the screen with limited to no surround sound. The theater lighting was left on during the movie so I had to go ask for it to be turned off so we could view the screen better. The usher came in a few times waving his flashlight around even though there wasnt a need to do so.Will probably never return to this movie theater again as there are many better options in the area. I dont always want an IMAX screen but comfortable seats, an updated sound system and a clear screen are must haves. Experiences like this solidify my reasons for waiting for the disc to watch in the comfort of my own home.

Saw Dumbo great movie!

Says it in the name 5 stars.

Love, love, love. I used to go to AMC. Now Im done with AMC in Londonderry.

This movie theater has high quality movies and most of the is clean, I just wish I just wish it had better bathrooms and candy. Other than then that it is a great place to spend time with your family!

Nice place. Popcorn is good. Theaters are clean.

Very big and spacious.

Ok .... Need to revamp their check in process for prepaid tix

Very good theater

Good place

A convenient local theater. Clean and never busy.

Great strippers

Convenient. No issues. Have watched numerous movies here over the years.

Excellent movie house!
