I had the most Sully time at the Opera because I went there with my significant other and we had a wonderful time and the fact that its been 14 years and she can still take me out to a place means a lot to me. Things to love me in some way as a play had some similar significant features as to my personal experiences in life I could relate to many things on the level of the play rent I definitely highly recommend anybody out there looking for a good play about real life real people relationships as circumstantial evidence of drugs and how it affects peoples lives and how precious lives are in general this is a great play I recommend it to anybody and we got so lucky because we won these seats that were just meant for us to of us right in the middle of the Gorillaz action wow he ever get seeds gorilla section 18 G great seats
Excellent venue for conferences. I attended a two day conference on marketing and it was hosted at the DPAC. The facility was top notch, clean, attractive, high-tech, and inspirational. Parking was easy and the central location makes it easy to get to in Denver. Headed here for an event? Have no fear. Youre in for a treat.
Order before the show for intermission drinks & snacks to skip the line...This feature is a real show stopper! Its also nice that you can take your drinks from the restaurant (ordered on the patio) into the theater. Prices are just above a movie theater for concessions. Parking is abundant and no more expensive than lot parking on the street level. Theres always a live band after the shows release to keep the night lively. This place makes great memories for any occasion.
Institute of performing art and mind power development is really happy to find the denver performing arts complex. Wish you best of luck in your cultural activities. You are truly awesome and fantastic!
Was here for the Louis CK show in Februray 2020. We were required to stow away our phones and smart watches in sealed bags as part of Louis contract. It was absolutely incredible how quickly they got us all in and out of the building.Wonderfully organized and helpful. Beautiful venue. Decent prices on drinks. Super clean bathrooms.
Very cool complex with the Boettcher Concert Hall (symphony) Beull Theater (Broadway shows and stuff), Ellie Caulkins Opera House, a couple small theaters with plays, and a couple restaurants. Convenient garage parking is $15 for events. And the plaza is open air but roofed, which is nice. Just minutes from the light rail.
I’ve seen so many great shows here, and to name a few: Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Aladdin, some All-State choir concerts, and An Evening with Leslie Odom, Jr.On many nights it’s pretty crowded here, and lines are almost always present in front of the theaters. There are a number of available will call opportunities that my family has been able to take, as is the case with Dear Evan Hansen. The only issue that I have is that it’s quite crowded at any set of doors to the theater once you’re actually in the building.
This is an amazing complex. Each of the theaters are very well designed for their purpose and are maintained to a 1st class level. Staff are always friendly. Only precaution is parking, as is the case for any large venue. Just plan ahead and youre guaranteed a wonderful experience.
Take your scooters throughout this area for a wonderful time
Nice venue. Performances are top quality. Honestly, they are better than Broadway sets! Most people wear clothing from business casual to formal dress.
Beautiful place to see a show. Decor is wonderful. Staff helpful and friendly. Getting drinks can take a bit of time due to the amount of people in line to order. But moves at a fast pace as the servers are friendly and efficient. Seats are small and uncomfortable. We were in orchestra C row R. Good seat location but very uncomfortable. Small with little leg room. I am 64 so I will have to do research next time to see if there are bigger more comfortable seats available.
Gorgeous space. Great option for a cocktail reception. Awards dinner. Bar mitzvah...etc. This venue offers stunning artwork and sleek architecture. With a massive statement chandelier!
Very Beautiful venue, Cant wait for it to reopen!!!
I park here daily. Great spot
My wife and I went here to see Wicked. We had a wonderful time. I had seen the show once before, years ago, with one of my daughters. We parked in the DPAC parking garage with no problems. There was a huge amount of people going into the theatre, but the workers kept the lines moving and we were inside in no time at all. We grabbed some bottled water and found our seats with the help of the volunteers inside. The show is absolutely fantastic! If you ever get a chance to see it - save up the $ and pay for some good seats. You wont be disappointed.
Couldnt go into any buildings, but its nice having all the arts in one place
Amazing all the way around!! It is a great place for plays and even to walk around, the building structure is awesome!! We go there every time we can and have seen many plays there
It was nice and warm as usually. The program was very good. Mitchell, the art director and prime conductor usually mix modern music with the classics. I enjoyed Olga Kern, she is an outstanding misician. I go to her concert every time she plays in Denver, usually once a year Jan or Feb.
A small but robust collection of theaters of all sizes and accommodations! A refreshing breezeway, eccentric art installations, and nearby downtown restaurants make for a visually entertaining evening. That being said the parking garage seems as if it was designed by a desperate college undergrad on the night the design was due.
I love coming to the DCPA! Its an iconic space unique to Denver. Each venue is different and has its own vibe and energy, yet its all beautifully connected as well.
Its a great, centralized place. Great acoustics in the different venues, and fun to attend. If you need to park in one of the nearby parking garages, plan on arriving at least 45 minutes ahead of time, especially if you want to park in the closest parking garage.
My husband and I go here on some date nights to watch performances such as the ballet. Never dissatisfied. During the Christmas season it was gorgeous.
Nice “Christmas Tree” display. Many many lights and stunning visual effects on the tree. A must see at Christmas time.
Used to absolutely love coming down here. Wouldn’t of hesitated to give 5 stars.A few months ago, we came to see Charley and the Chocolate Factory. I paid extra for box tickets (I forget the box number, but it was the upper ones with 6 seats across and no raised platform for back seats). We get to our box and discovered that it wasn’t oriented correctly. Our 2 seats were behind the other 4. When you sat down, you had absolutely no view of the stage...and these were $100+ tickets.I go talk to an usher, advise her of the issue, and she says to move the seats back....she can’t be bothered to move them....so I went back and moved them to the proper orientation that is shown on the seating map for the Buell Theatre. The show starts and another usher brings the remaining 4 folks to the box and she rudely proceeded to tell us we had to move the seats back behind the other 4. When we proceeded to tell her that was wrong and we had already talked to another usher, she proceeded to shush us and told us We were disturbing others around us and to move the seats back. After a minute of sitting there, you had absolutely no view of the stage. Disgusted, we were going to get up and complain, when the usher returned. She said she would move us to different seats. She proceeded to move us to the very back of the theater....to seats that were not nearly the same value as I had paid for. It completely ruined the entire show.Afterwards I went to the box office to tell them what had happened. They wouldn’t refund my money. I gave a statement, including my phone number. I even sent them an email and included my phone number.I was never called....and I eventually found their reply weeks later in my junk folder.Given this experience, I’m not inclined to give them another dime of my money!Pictures show the box across from us that was oriented correctly (6 across) and then our box that wasn’t. You can clearly see the back seats are not on a raised platform so it’s an obstructed view when you have others sitting in front of you.
Want to know what magic feels like?
So many great things going on. Only complaint would be getting there. Better traffic control would be good. If you think your going to get there early or on time, go 45 minutes earlier.
Such a good place for performance art, whether it is music, dance, or theater. Really nice to have all the theaters in one place, with a really nice covered pavilion and attached parking
Great place to film and watch a performance
Our arts complex really is amazing. The different theaters right there with a great rotation of performances has something for everyone.
Nice place, but they throw you out right after the shows over. My daughter was performing, and I went back to her hotel with her walking to get her stuff, and before we could get back, they had thrown my wife out. I should have went to the bathroom before I left the place. Hour and a half drive home, glad I got an iron bladder.
Denvers premier theater venue. And that is saying a lot because Denver has great theater beyond this. Everything in a central place. Opera, ballet, Broadway, intimate, theater in the round, cabaret.Parking is easy and reasonable for Downtown. Good restaurants in walking distance.
This place has been a part of my life since high school. When we celebrated Shakespeare, DCPA was there. As an adult, I have seen concerts, plays, and everything else under the sun. We used to say we were going to get cultured. Well, that still seems to be the case. DCPA is a top notch, nationally recognized hub for all things arts. Get out and enlighten yourself!!
It is a beautiful complex with great restaurants and theaters. Have seen many plays in the Buell theater and I can say that there isnt a bad seat in the place.
I do like the variety of theaters in one location. The ability to reach via train, only 2 blocks walk. Even in bad weather it. Is doable.
The staff was amazing and so accommodating. My 4yo daughter and I accidentally came on the wrong night. Without hesitation they exchanged our seats w available seats for the evening. They were even box seats for no extra charge! My little girl was able to enjoy her very first Colorado Ballet Nutcracker without a hitch. To a mamma who grew up dancing and seeing the Colorado Ballets Nutcracker every year, this meant the world to me. Thank you
Make sure to check out what is playing and plan your arrival accordingly. When the complex has multiple shows running packing fills up quick, but the Convention Center stop in across the street. Consider the Light Rail if it’s an option for you.
There are few venues in the Denver area that can meet the standard set here. An elegant and grandiose building, with accommodations fitting the clientele. Drinks are affordable, assuming you were ok with ticket prices, and the stage is well lit and visible from any seat.
This is a great place with multiple stages for different performances. We go here for musicals, symphony, theatre etc. There is a good car park structure BUT it fills up when all stages are in use and it is quite expensive. All venues allow you to preorder drinks for the interval which is worthwhile.
Great sound, seating and space. We were at the Buell for the Donna Summer Musical. Its always a treat to go there. The Opera House is also beautiful and very inviting. We enjoy all of the DCPA.
Parking at $15 is reasonable, but a little high. The proximity of parking and ease of navigation makes it worth it, however. The complex itself is spacious, acoustics are good, and everything is well-organized, with lots of friendly staff on hand to manage the visitor crowds and make everything go smoothly. The Colorado Symphony orchestra is impeccable, so thats always worth the cost. Drinks are steeply priced, so bring your own if youre on a tight budget.
The Buell Theater is the best concert arena acoustically that I have ever experienced. There is not a single seat in the entire theater that doesnt experience a wonderful view and great sound.
Went here for the Denver film festival with a friend to see the screening of marriage story. The Ellie is a gorgeous theater, and all the staff was super friendly and helpful. Great place to see a show, and the bartenders are all great!
The Space theater is my favorite theater in the WHOLE ENTIRE UNIVERSE! It’s so great to be that close to the actors. The play was wonderful.
We always enjoy the theater experience at the DCPA. Great variety of shows that are always well done. Amazing sets, lights, acting, and music. Well definitely continue buying season tickets.
Had a wonderful time at The Nutcracker ballet at the Opera House. What a great family experience. Parking was convenient.
I love this complex. It has so many theaters and concert halls. Everything together in a modern, beautiful and practical place. It was perfectly planned.
Saw the show Rent there. Lovely theater, nice staff, and loved the live music before the show.
Beautiful complex, very friendly staff who pointed us the right way. I would have liked to see more cultural and community art decorations.
The seats are comfortable. The staff is absolutely amazing! Very kind and inviting. Bathrooms are well maintained. No changing table though
Came for a matinee show of the Blue Man Group today. Came nice and early due to the weather. Getting in to the parking garage was a little nuts. They would benefit from having someone directing traffic. Got in to the lobby. The show was supposed to start @ 2. Its 2:40 as I write this. First announcement about an issue came @ 10 past. @2:30 they told us it was an audio issue. Very disappointing.Update - show just cancelled. No word about refunds or reschedule. Not happy.
Saw phantom of the opera and it was absolutely phenomenal. Love seeing a show at any of the theaters. It is always a pleasure and very easy to navigate the area and parking.
It was a great venue to see a play! It was busy but the staff had a smile and had time to get you to where you needed to go. Will go again soon!
My husband and I went on our first date here, about 16 years ago. We were married here, under the big dancing aliens statue, on January 1, 2018. We both love downtown and the theater. Denver has a great theater scene, and DCPA is the heart of it and usually the best of it.
A bit overwhelming if youre going to a show in a smaller venue, and it can feel eerie if little is going on. But a great variety of venues and organizations put on all kinds of events here.
Great acoustics. Beautifully redesigned Auditorium Theater which was originally built for the 1908 Democratic Convention. The seating could be more comfortable.
My family and I really love going to events held at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Its our mini Broadway in the heart of Denver. The only thing I would love, would be for all elevators to work. Each time we are there, only two out of the three are working, and the lines cant get long.
The staff was friendly and welcoming. It was a wonderful experience! Definitely coming back.
Always an amazing time here and the employees are always so wonderful. Ive never had a bad experience here!
Loved it. Great performance of Peter Pan. This is what a $22.00 glass of wine looks like!
Mice show. The facility itself oa great. And the people that work there are very helpful. Park on the higher levels so you dont have to wait for everyone else to leave.
Nicely done. Even if you dont see a show, you can walk around, take pictures of the beautiful theaters, and people-watch.
Took our 3 kids to the Nut Cracker and it was amazing. Thank you for making my family’s night great.
We saw Peter Pan! It was so engaging. My 6 year old had the time of his life!
The DCPA has top notch facilities and performances. Unfortunately they time shows at both the Opera House and buehl at times (happened twice to us) that end at the same time causing for extremely long delays getting to your car in the parking garage (if having to wait for elevators to go to upper levels) and to get out of the parking garage. Otherwise would have rated five stars.
Ive been here for more than 10 shows in at least 3 of the theatres here, most recently for A Bronx Tale, and I always have a good time! The only thing I dont like, and think should be considered to change, is that people can eat during the show. It isnt a movie theater and, more often than not, the dialogue and songs are not loud enough to cut through the snacking of popcorn and other goodies sold at the venue.
Fantastic live theater with local and national shows. I enjoy live entertainment and Denver has one of the best venues in the country!
This place is an absolute treasure. Ive loved coming here since I was only 5 years old and I hope to continue enjoying the music and theatre here until Im 105 years old.
Went to the MacBeth performance on 22 October and it was amazing! Fantastic performance by the actors. All male cast. The room is a beautiful circular stage that rotates as they put on their performance.
Great venues in one spot! On busy nights youll see street performers outside and the accoustics are amazing!
The festive atmosphere was magical. And the Manheim Steamroller concert was awesome. Such multi talented people.
Outstanding venue bursting with creativity and hospitality. So much to enjoy from the restaurants and cafes to the opera and cabaret theater! Using the rail system to reach this complex is a snap and the quality of entertainment world-class! Absolutely love this complex! RJ
Beautiful theatre, wonderful ushers, love taking the family to see musicals and the price compared to Broadway cant be beat!
Saw Phantom of the Opera here, it was amazing. Good access from the free mall ride. Informed ushers, auditorium empties out fairly quickly.
Could be cleaner, but overall a cool space and I have seen many shows there.
Great place to visit if you are in Denver. I would recommend the venue.
Easy access from several inexpensive parking garages, seating and acoustics are very nice and selection of shows, musicals etc. is wide.
Go see a musical or a play. Park at the convention center.
SO easy to park here and so many theater options Absolutely love what Denver has done to make the arts accessible!
This is not only a beautiful complex, but they offer a variety of venues as well as performances. I remember seeing Phantom of the Opera when the Buell first opened, The Book of Mormon in the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, A Nightmare Before Christmas with the Colorado Symphony, and so many more memories. I have a great time whenever I have the opportunity to go.
Parking is a breeze in the garage! Many wonderful productions and we love being able to come to one place to see them.
Beautiful venue, caring staff, great experience
Outstanding performance center with numerous venues in one location. Can also eat and drink on the premises.
This place has really good classes and really cool shows and musicals its a great place to go for entertainment!
I love going to the Denver Center of performing arts. I love all the different venues, the only drawback with the Buell theater is the sound system needs improvement in. And they need more rest rooms to accommodate intermission times.
Saw the Phantom of the Opera! It was amazing! They need should upgrade the seats though. My bum was not happy!
This theatre is worthy of any respect you have for #broadway style shows in #Denverco and has a blue bear...You want a Penguin?
