I love how the vents make strange noise at night it is always fun to watch how people react.
This place is so cool! It shows you how to detect counterfeit money by looking at it and even smelling it! Also you can see what $30,000,000 looks like!It is not a large museum, and it is free! You also get a little free bag of shredded money to take home with you! I wouldn’t recommend for kids under 5, just because they wouldn’t be able to really reach or understand the museum. Also you enter from the side of the building, google maps will take you to the front.
Excellent stop to pass a little time and learn a little bit about personal finance and the history of money. You can expect to spend about 30 minutes here as it is not a major attraction that eats up a lot of time. Not a must do in Denver, however it is free and offers an opportunity to learn about financial impacts and history.
Any museum about money is sure to delight, and this is no exception. Its small so you dont need more than an hour. Most of the historic artifacts on display are (unsurprisingly) old banknotes and coins, some dating from the colonial years of the country. The rest of the exhibits describe the history of the Federal Reserve, provide interesting tidbits about the money supply and the economy, and promote financial literacy and independence. To get in, you need a state-issued ID or passport, and you go through an airport-style security check. Admission is free. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. There is no gift shop, but be sure to grab a free souvenir by the entrance, a small bag of shredded banknotes!
It was a nice visit, however it is a very small exhibit which shows some older currency and presents money management to children. The exhibits have no staff support and the staff there are all oriented toward protecting nothing in the area. Its a good free exhibit for children 7-12 and should only take about 15min to complete. Adults interested in American currency will be disappointed.
It’s really a place for kids to go on a field trip to learn about money. For adults, there’s not too much practical information here. Yes you can see how to tell a fake bill from a real bill and also see some older types of currency that you may have never seen before. But most of the museum is about budgeting for larger expenses and how much people can make at certain jobs, coloring stations and what not. I was in and out after 20 mins
I wish there was more to see! We only had access to one main room and a projector tv room, it would be cool to have had tour of the whole building. Otherwise it was a very cool experience! They have high intense security but they are extremely friendly. Cool place to bring your kid. They have interactive activities and it was overall a decent experience. You learn a lot about money!
Nice for a little ten min stop, not much else. Also, I get money is around but security guard was really sketchy. If your that scared, dont people in?
Very interesting educational mini museum all about American money. Free. Over 18 must have ID for entry.
Very nice small museum. You can learn how to discover fake money, see a little bit of history of the US dollars and see how 30Mio dollars looks like. On the way out, take a bag of shredded money. Its Free. Have the ID on you to enter
Awesome place to visit while ur downtown and the best part, its Free!!
Nice stop for a few minutes, unless you have young children. Very nice for school-age groups.
It was a great experience and great opportunity to learn about the story of our money. Worth it to visit
The money museum is good for what it is. There is an interesting display chronicling the history of currency in the United States along with an exhibit that teaches you about counterfeits. There are also a few interactive stations that younger children should enjoy.
What a great place! It definitely gives you the feeling of being inside a major federal building energy wise and what not. The museum is small, takes about an hour to fully tour it and read/look at everything they have on display. Security there is very friendly and will answer your questions. Added benefit is that it is free.
What a find! Takes just a few minutes to explain and lots of fun things to see. Every visitor gets a bag of shredded money!
This was a really cool (free) museum. It’s mostly for kids and learning about personal finance but there were interesting parts for adults too. Kids can make their own “money” and all guests can take a bag of discarded, shredded money which was super cool.
It was so interesting to see the history of money. Where else can you get a bag of money ;)
This place was really educational about money.I liked the fact it was free to get into. There is a display of $30000000.00 cash that was neat to see. They also have all sorts of money from the past on display.
This is definitely aimed at kids more than adults. Its mostly displays discussing money management and the concepts of credit and interest. The coolest thing there for adults is the collection of historic currency and the wall of $30,000. Dont forget to grab your sack of shredded currency on your way out!
This is a small museum only one room. Even though its small its nice and informative. It gives you a little break from the citys weather. Its also free which is nice, over all a good put stop.
Really underwhelming but Im at a point in my life where seeing a pile of $30m is like seeing a unicorn in the wild (also free entry and right downtown so its not like youre going out of the way)
What a great, free mini visit. we spent about 1 hour there and enjoyed the history and free money (shredded). best part was making a $100 bill with my face on it
Its fun to learn! Kids had a great time creating their own money
Interesting but not much to see.
I enjoyed killing time looking at the history of our bank notes and coins. The tour is self guided and requires a security screening before entry. The souvenir bag of shredded money was a nice touch. There are a few activities for children, mostly involving making your own money.
Very interesting exhibition. Most people dont really know what the Federal Reserve Bank is. Definitely worth the time.
There is not a whole lot to this free museum...it is very small. It is located in 1 large room before you enter the Federal Reserve Bank. There is one area that has a display of paper bills throughout history. There is a section where there are 2 bills side by side, same denomination. With a magnifying glass that slides across the display you look through it & try to decide which bill is counterfeit. The main draw for this museum is to see the display with $30 million dollars in the display...it is a popular photo spot! Visitors may also get a free small bag of shredded dollars..1 per person as a souvenir.
Maybe I shouldnt be so hard on a free exhibit, but it was small, brief, and definitely geared towards kids, which is ironic considering I dont think kids would be interested in this stuff in the first place. It felt like airport TSA just to get in the building, which I understand because its a federal building, but that was even more discouraging. Dont waste your time here.
Its a nice little stop if you are in Denver. And its really cool to see different types of money throughout American history. You get to take a little bag of it with you.
Really nice for family and adults we enjoyed it. Small but great. And its FREE
Very cool. A smaller museum, but very well laid out and presented. A lot of very cool information
Its a pretty underwhelming museum with displays fit more for grade schoolers and younglings. They do give out free bags of shredded money, which I found interesting. Overall, not a real memorable experience.
Place was awsome. great place to learn about the history of our money and look at some cool stuff
The museum was quite small but it was fun to tour.
That cartoon bird was giving out the kind of sensible investing advice that you can only get in a museum movie room.
Pretty small but kinda neat that they add this for the public to check out
The free museum is small, but kid friendly. You will see all kinds of money and learn about the Federal Reserve. You get a small bag of free shredded money to take home.
This is a cool quick stop while in town. Small exhibit, would be cool for kids. I appreciate the free souvenir!
Free to get into. Pretty good displays of historical money. Just need to pass through security to get into.
A great place to learn about money in Denver. This place is free on the 16th Street Mall.
Very short visit is all you need. But, interesting enough.Easy to understand history of money. Probably perfect for young children 7-12...
It has a few interesting displays, but it is small and can be perused in 15 minutes. Also very heavy handed in its depiction of credit.
Fun place for kids and adults alike
The gravy is meaty and thick, the biscuits are a little fluffy for me, but they were very large and tasty. Their OJ was fresh squeeze or some high-end stuff because I had a flash back to my childhood at Grandmas house.
Fun little place that we stumbled upon walking around the city. Free admission to come learn about how money works! Plus, you can get a free bag of shredded money as a keepsake.
Many information about banks and dollar. The place is cool but small. We have to show ID Card or Passport to enter and no charge.
Cool museum. Educational and fun. Dont take video or theyll tell u not to. Very strict. Photos r cool no video.
Not really a museum person but this was very informative and interesting!
Great to see all the money throught the countrys history and how bills have developed
Fun interesting museum about money and the Federal Reserves role in the money supply of the economy. Free admission, and good for both kids and adults. You can also grab a free bag of shredded (error/misprinted) cash as a neat souvenir.
A lot smaller than I expected. There was a lot of good information on the functions of the Federal Reserve.
Get a bag of free (shredded) money and learn how to spot a fake note. Not bad for free.
It was a great experience. Its small place with lots of information about the US currency, Paper Money.
Honestly, not much to see. The $30 million is pretty cool
Funny and educational experience about the American money history and monetary monitoring process. The museum is for free (dont forget ID/Passport) and will take you less than an hour
So neat. Did not expect it to be so! Nice break for adults and kids from the heat and rain when in the area. Didnt take too long to explore...about an hour was enough.
Good lessons about money for children and teenagers, and a small currency display suitable for adults.
Ok, its a museum about money, so calm down with the its boring nonsense. It is, however, interesting. We spent maybe 45 minutes walking around, got a bag of shredded cash which was pretty cool and then made our way onward. Its a good time. Def worth it if you want to get inside for a little and learn a little something.
This is suited more to school children, fourth to sixth grade. However, adults will enjoy looking at displays of currency from the past and 30 million dollars.
Not what I was expecting at all. Thought it would be bigger and would have more on display. Good way to kill time though.
Very interesting. It is a small museum so it makes for a short and interesting visit.
It a bit smaller then i thought but its free! Worth visiting ! You can pick up a bag of real shredded money as souvenir)
Small museum but very informative.
Small but interesting museum. An adult could be through it in 20 minutes but it occupied my 11 year old for 45 minutes. There are some interactive stations where kids can design their own currency.
I give The Money Museum at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Denver Branch, located at 1020 16th St Mall, Denver, CO 80202 FIVE STARS. This Museum tell you alot on our currency and how the money flows.
Nice for kids plus its free and no reservation is required, good indoors activity with some fun things to do plus you get that bag of confetti money. It is small so dont expect to be there more than an hour.
Its educational, historical, and interesting enough for a grade-schooler. Running your hands through piles of money is always a cheap thrill. The on-site amenities include a comfortable place to sit out of the wind and cold, or at least away from the street smoke, depending on the time of year.
Free. Just off the 16th mall so easy to get too. Some interesting exhibits on the history of the American bill. I was hoping for more interesting exhibits. The Mint might be a better tour.
It was a great stop to see our country in action. I wish there was more to see and do. I know others who left with us said thr same. Great start not have a video how thr money is made or how money is destroyed. Also make sure you have an state ID to get in.
Very security minded...i.d. scanned....small....easily less than an hour to do....lots of fun hands on activities...and lots of historical currency that will put your knowledge of history to the test...plus free money! Although it is shredded.
Neat look at the history of our currency, a good educational experience on money management for kids. Quick and free without the hassle of waiting at the mint.
Nice to get a glimpse of a federal government building. The museum is small and with free entry, contains displays with old dollar notes and how to tell fakes. Friendly staff.
It does have a free bag of shredded money. Confetti like. It has a lot of posterboard highlights on the fed. A bigger section on what old US dollar bills looked like. I was in and out in under 5 minutes. Overall uninteresting.
Fun to see old money! Free for tourists!
I work for a company that takes adults with disabilities into the community. I had a group of 3 gentlemen today and they wanted to go do the free tour. We walked in and were poorly greeted by the Security there asked for either a Passport or Drivers License. I explained that the Adults in my group only have State Ids and Photo Ids with their identification and picture on it. We were rudely told to leave. I walked out and called the Main office here and talked to a gentleman in Customer Service and explained everything as above. He put me on hold, came back and said that shouldnt be a problem and that they are more than happy to work with that community. I thanked him and we headed back in with our IDs out. I told the Security guard that we had called and should be allowed entry with the IDs we had. He became very aggressive and in my face demanding who I talked to and that nobody tells them what to do and the Denver number I called was in Florida. He would not let us in. So we left. Extremely rude service and very discriminatory.
The museum was a fun attraction. Its more for children but still a nice little nugget to visit.
Was surprisingly fun and interesting well worth a visit.
Its a very informative place with plenty of cool activities that help you learn about money. Just about all of the displays are interactive. You can also get a free bag of shredded money on your way out.
Its was very interesting and a fun learning experience for kids but since it a federal building they do medal detect you and you need to show ID in order to enter. Free shredded money for each person and admission is free.
Its a beautiful old building and how can you not love the establishment that handles our cold hard cash. The events with banquets are beautifully done.
The museum is little bit small but it was fun. You get a pack of money as souvenir.
It’s super small. The nice part is that they give you a bag of shredded money which the kids had fun with.
I thought this would be cool for adults, and there are some neat pieces. But really it’s for children. But you do get to walk away with a free bag of money! (Shredded ;)
There isnt really a lot here to see and its maybe 30 minutes of your time if your interested in older paper money and info on spotting counterfeits. You can grab a bag of shredded cash (about $165 worth) for free as you exit.
Very informative and educational more so than I would have ever thought. Great place to visit
Very disappointing. Mainly a hands on room for children or mentally handicapped adults to teach about money.
Quite small but very interesting. You are entitled to a bag of free money if you visit.
Good place to learn about your money & saving.
Nice displays of currency, and counterfeit v. real bills. Other displays are relatively pedantic/elementary.
I was fun to be able to go inside a federal reserve bank. The dispalys of U.S. money thoughouts its history was interesting. I took home a bag of shreded money. The novelty of that alone was wkrth it.
