Loved how they had stations for spf and water. Wish they would have set it up a bit differently trying to see alk the artist at the end got a bit confusing. Art was amazing!!!
I look forward to this Art Show every year! I almost always leave with a very special piece of art & love to see returning artists that I collect! Great artists from all over the USA & even glass artists from Brazil! If I consider bringing my dog I always show-up right at opening to avoid the crowds & heat for my pups consideration. Happy Independence Day!
The Cheer Creek Arts festival is one we attend most every year and we have noticed a definite trend. The artists chosen to exhibit have a penchant for the shock and awe. Its not cool when everyone is doing it and no longer seems cutting edge. A truly great oil painting done with only one`s skill with the oils is seldom seen. Rather its about using one specific technology and reproducing it. Multiple jewelry booths with little differences between them, computer generated prints, many booths of items that display a sense of crudity. And then there are the few truly good artists that have honed their skills. And the arists that want to share their lives and vision. We spent 4 hours touring the booths the day the festival opened this July 2016. The day was thankfully cool. If you arrive, as we did, just a little before 10 am, you can usually snag a spot on one of the residential streets nearby and avoid parking fees. We managed to find some unique pieces but it is getting harder. We still would recommend.
CherryArts is an incredible organization that does important work bringing arts experiences to people who may not otherwise have them, particularly young people. They produce two amazing arts festivals each year -- one in Cherry Creek in July and another at Stanley Marketplace in September -- and both are cant miss events for fans of art and culture.
As an artist this is one of the best shows I do when i get in. It drawers the best artists from the art fair circuit. The crowds are there to buy and enjoy the event. Yup, it is often hot, but there are plenty of places to eat and drink and cool off. That said I am a storm chase photographer and June is storm season in CO and temps can vary drastically plus with the Sept Stanley show I think they have chosen the right months. I do wonder if folks are away for the July 4th weekend but it doesnt seem to effect attendance, so I guess not. Hope to see you there!!
Im a big fan of this festival because I love the arts but with that in mind, I wish they would have some more diversity to their art work instead of the same tired old pop arty stuff they have year after year. Its time for some new stuff guys! Its fun though to look around even despite the sweltering heat. It seems that a cooler month might be a better time for this festival. Its always insanely not.
The Arts Festival is great! I go every year and I am looking forward to visiting the booth of one of my favorite artists at the festival again this year, Richard Wilson. He is fabulous!Hopefully the officials will go back to banning dogs again. It is far too crowded to have dogs on leases tripping people not to mention the poor abused dogs walking on burning asphalt. Just common sense.
Lots and lots of GENERIC art & NO PARKING. Save your time and visit a museum.
I saw a few reviews that said its time to mix it up. There are a lot of vendors that we have seen over the years but I actually like that. With a lot of the art being fairly pricey, it might take me seeing it a couple of times before Im ready to commit. I felt that this year (2017) there were a lot of new people with interesting new stuff. We love Scott Hildebrandt and Kina Crow has amazing and fun pieces. We look forward to this fair every July.
I was not impressed with the art work. I couldnt relate to the edgy and simply not beautiful or moving art that was displayed at the festival in 2016. I was looking for an addition to my collection but no luck. Hoping 2017 is better.
Probably Great - unfortunately since there were no wheel chairs available and since my wife can not walk far, we saw only one block of booths. WHY ARE THERE NO WHEEL CHAIRS AVAILABLE? DSM, IOWA HAD THEM LAST WEEK END!! Surely Denver can equal Des Moines!!
A pop oiii9z. .y w.
Little to no local artists and inflated prices to cover inflated booth space.
It was our first year and we enjoyed walking around to see all the great artists. But food vendors were not so great, and the booths were really spread out.
Now a holiday weekend tradition. Dont forget to have a beer and burger on the patio of the Cherry Cricket and people watch!
I Look Forward To This Event Every Year!Best Memory Is When I Saw Artist Denny Dent!
Honestly the food vendors killed it for me. gyros corner has two awful older ladies yelling at me and calling me inappropriate names because I asked if I could have my money back after seeking the food. They wouldnt give us our money back and I was stuck with discussing food!!!
New artist needed. Same old stuff
Dont volunteer
Over priced American art
Nice place
One of Denvers Best Holiday Festivals!!
