Great event, well organized, multiple stages with live music spread throughout the park. Modern jazz, ragtime jazz, blues, blues rock, & more. Many food & beverage vendors (incl. beer & wine). BBQ ribs & tacos were our favorites. Booths showcasing different types of art, arts & crafts, clothing, etc. Also, a kids activity area. We really enjoyed the day here. This is a free-access event. Also, free parking at the MedPark Train Station where the city runs a free bus service to the festival grounds. If you want to park within walking distance of the festival, you might have to pay for the parking, if you can find it. We thought the food & beverage prices were reasonable, especially compared to other events weve attended around the plex. Please note the festival is NOT at 525 Ft. Worth Dr. (not sure why Google map lists that address, but its incorrect). The festival is in Quakertown Park between E. Mckinney St & Withers St in Denton.

Weve been to the Jazz Festival 7 out of the past 8 years. It is always a great experience with no entry free, free parking if you dont mind walking, outside beverages allowed in, and delicious food for decent prices.

I’ve been coming to the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival since I was ten years old. Each year has been even better than the last, at least for me. I come and partake in their events on all three days. Fri, Sat, Sunday. I’ve made a lot of memories here that I will never forget. I’d recommend this festival to anyone!

This annual event always brings in some legendary national acts, great local talent, performers from area schools, and OF COURSE a special guest appearance from Mother Nature. There is literally something for everyone here, unless you hate people and hate fun and hate live music. This festival is (mostly) family-friendly, (somewhat) pet-friendly, and (very) boozehound-friendly. Be sure to wear shoes that you dont mind getting muddy, just in case.

Music, food, and people are the top three things youll find at this festival, and theyre all great. Want to eat fried shark while listening to bagpipes? This is the place for you. Maybe you want beer and jazz? Thats the whole point! Definitely a fun time for any age! (There are bouncy houses and games for kids)

Had a great day listening to Freddie Jones, Nawlins Gumbo Kings, and Joe McBride. Would have given 5 stars but there were dogs allowed and the smoke from cigars and cigarettes was AWFUL eventhough it was an outdoor event. It would earn 5+ stats from me if they sold tickets for a covered, smoke free area, with clean bathrooms. However, this is a GREAT, FREE, event for the community with WONDERFUL music. Thank you to all the sponsors.

Many food options. Super to-do for the last weekend in April.Super cool vendors with unique stuff. Bring card or cash. You wont regret it.

Review №30

A bit disappointing although the music and art was great. The disappointment is that it was warm and humid and far too few concession stands had bottled water available for purchase. You could get all the lemonade, tea, and beer that you wanted, but no water. The DOD fest had tons of water available, both free, and for sale.

Great venues and music. Food and vendors pretty typical, and somewhat pricey and most only accepted cash. The area was too crowded to get around with ease. Major complaint: anywhere I sat down with my blanket, be it by the drainage channel on a hill, or at the main jazz stadium, I was engulfed in cigarette smoke. I couldnt get away from it and my partner is allergic. They need solve this problem being a family event. Felt more like a dirt bag festival. Didnt stay long any of the days I was there. I think they need to move to a larger space given the crowd size. Also a lot of the music wasnt jazz at all.

Parking is a nightmare, so carpooling or public transit is best.Definitely bring cash if you plan to buy from stalls. Most dont accept card, and the atms charge a $4 fee to pull cash from.Food is hit or miss depending on the stalls, but its usually still decent.
