What more can I say that hasn’t been said by others, this place is one of the jewels of South Florida. Been coming to Morikami for years and each visit has always been wonderful. Even during these difficult times, they’ve organized everything in a way to make visitors feel safe. I would highly recommend visiting here if you’re a tourist and for those that are local and visit often, I highly recommend becoming a member as a show of support. You won’t regret your visit!
I moved here from Maine in 1999. Today was my Very First Visit.Impeccably Maintained. Absolute Serenity and Calmness abound. I wished that I had not been so busy all these years to take a few hours and visit. But now that I have been here, I have made a commitment to myself to visit more often.Like many, I thought the admission price of $15 was a bit much, just to see a garden, However... The multiple styles, paths and bridges, all unique, transition from one to Another, Flawlessly. And after visiting, I am100% satisfied with the admission and Encourage Everyone to who can, to visit this beautiful area that has been preserved. For people with mobility concerns, the paths are such that Wheelchairs, Personal mobility scooters, strollers and the like have total access to much of the park with very few exceptions. This is a must see venture for Residents and Visitors. For those beginning their journeys into to Philosophy of Buddhism, Those in Twelve Step Programs, This is a Golden Opportunity to Connect with Spirit and Nature, and for those Redefining their Higher Power.Thank you to ALL The Staff, Gardeners and Caretakers who made this First Visit So Special.️
Wonderful place to experience some japanese culture. They provide a pamphlet of what they provide and some history along the way as you explore. A very beautiful scenic place.COVID: Everyone must wear a mask while walking and should maintain a proper social distance. In the entrance, the staff will provide you some information as to what is available to the public. They were very organize as to how everything should be good. Overall, its an excellent place to visit and safe to do so.
This is an amazing magical place! I took my family there for the first time today and we all had a great time! Beautiful views of Japanese gardens, bridges, fish, iguanas, birds, butterflies, turtles, bonsai trees, a bunny and more! Make sure you buy alot of fish food on your way in its so fun! We will definitely go back! I highly recommend it!
10/10 Experience - I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for something fun and healthy to do. Admissions was very reasonable and they have a cafe with Boba Tea onsite. There were benches every 100 ft or so and amazing views of the lake. You can feed the fish and turtles (buy food for $1).
I really enjoyed the gardens. It’s extremely well kept. The ticket price is fair, the staff is really sweet and the overall experience is amazing. Gift shop has many different goodies. I will definitely come back again.
If you want to feel like your far far away not in Florida, then you would want to come to this beautiful garden. Be prepare to walk a lot. I absolutely enjoyed the scenery. Beautiful place.
Such a tranquil and hidden jewel of Florida to visit. Worth absolutely every cent of admission costs and you feel like youre transported to a different realm almost. Its a wonderful place to escape the chaotic realities of the world, envelope yourself within a small glimpse in the beauty of Asian culture and there are multiple park benches to stop and embrace the ambience of solitude. Its not the largest garden but upon visiting, take your time on observing the zen of everything.
Had a great visit at the Morikami. Felt very safe with all the COVID-19 guidelines in place there. Most guests wore their masks properly and adhered to the social distancing requests.
A very pleasant experience. At the moment its somewhat empty due to covid, but this helps add to the peace and serenity that you feel while walking the gardens. We loved every minute of it. Plan to spend about an hour or two if you decide to grab food at the cafe.
So beautiful, could have stayed all day. They have put so much thought and work into keeping it safe during the current health crisis. The tea ceremony was perfectly executed and educational. The grounds were well maintained and scenic, perfect for a relaxing day out.
Right now only the gardens (and gift shop) are open and its more than enough, highly recommend!Took our 3 and 6 yr old girls and we all loved it. We walked around the lake (less than a mile) and fed the fish and turtles. Saw many birds and iguanas as well.
Very relaxing getaway from the every day grind. Very nicely maintained minus a few floating iguanas, but thats life. Great for adults and kids. Figure about 2 hours.
The Morikami Museum and Japanese gardens is a great place for a quiet walk among nature. Not only is this a beautifully manicured park but it is a very peaceful experience, a great place to bring small children, and a perfect activity for a beautiful day.I highly recommend the restaurant at the entrance. The highlight of the Morikami gardens is the bonsai collection, in my opinion. There are very old bonsais that have been meticulously cared for, and you cannot help but want to take this up as a hobby of your own.Members can enjoy several benefits that the general public has to pay for such as bonsai classes, restaurant discounts, and exclusive access to members areas.️ During the pandemic temperature checks and masks are obligatory.️ The museum is currently being remodeled and is thus closed to visitors.
Hidden gem in a busy city that you wouldn’t expect to see! Visited the gardens alongside my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday and had an amazing time. The scenery was beautiful and the grounds are well kept. It was a nice escape from the everyday world. It was a bummer that the museum was closed but no worries. The scenery and food made up for it. The cafe has a variety of tasty treats the the serves are very nice and attentive. They had an interactive display and that was fun! Keep in mind I visited back in August of 2019 before corona. Please visit once they are back open! for sure helped clear my mind and gave me a refresh!
Wonderful gardens, exhibits, and staff. If you have a teenager that is going with their date, might want to bring a chaperone since tons of couples were going into the wooded areas to get closer to their wild side if you catch my zen garden.
Beautiful place to visit in Delray Beach area.Garden are absolutely beautiful and allows a glance of the Japanese culture. At this time the museum is closed but restaurant is open with outdoor seating. Food is very tasty.Admission fee is 15 dollars per adult.Free parking.Great photo spots. Gift shop on premises.
I always enjoy visiting the gardens at Morikami. It is so zen, clean, well landscape, and just simply beautiful. Masks are required for entry.
This place is a very beautiful but there are some spots covered with spider webs and branches all over your head. There is an alligator in lake and no warning signs.
We absolutely love working at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Garden! The museum hosts different exhibitions of Japanese art and artifacts (that they’ve acquired from collectors and institutions); it’s educational and just steps away from a beautiful world of gardens. We have thoroughly enjoyed exploring through all six luscious gardens! It gave us more than enough material to photograph our lovely couples and families. This place is a wonderful option for a portrait session AND a wedding venue. We would highly recommend Morikami to our couples!
Planning your wedding?? This is by far the best wedding venue ever in South Florida!! The photo opportunities are stunning, and lets just say my guests are still talking about their dinner up until today. Strongly suggest booking this venue for a winter or spring wedding.
I beautiful place ... Unfortunately all exhibitions were closed... Once we were on the trail we saw the warning sign for wildlife, and I saw an alligator. I couldnt enjoy the visit just watching and walking around with my child. I wished the have the sign in the entrance.
We had a great walk around the park. It is absolutely stunning. Make sure you play the audio files containing plenty of fascinating info on each stop. A wonderful spot to contemplate and simply relax.
Outdoor beauty. Great place to walk around on a date. Pretty lakes with nice bridges to stand on and take in the surroundings. Turtles a plenty in the lakes too - you can buy feed to entertain yourself feeding the little guys. Its really cute. All kinds of wildlife flitting by as you take a leisurely stroll along the paths. Its not super stimulating but it is just a really cool ambiance to relax on a walk with someone you like. Plenty of wood benches to relax on. And when you get hungry or its gotten too hot and you need to cool down, go back to the welcome center and go buy some ice cream or a beer. I recommend the mochi. :)
Best place i ever visit before, it give you a pleasant vibe of Japan, wonderful place! and if you want the whole experience, play a Ralaxing Japanese music (Japanese Relaxation Album on Spotify) with you and you will want buy a ticket to Japan like i will soon ️ you wont regret, visit this beatiful place!
Its really cute. I highly recommend it.
What a venue. The morikami museum and Japanese gardens were awesome. Defiantly a place to go and get some zen time. If you are a local and need a place to just go and be in nature I’d grab the members pass. The layout was awesome everything from the bamboo sound to the fish is the water. My favourite was defiantly the bonsais which all had great shapes and sizes.Highly recommend.
Beautiful garden with traditional decor and wonderful wildlife. From koi, to soft shell turtles, to alligators. All around a great place to spend some time with more simplicity.
Always a pleasure. Beautiful, tranquil, a nice stroll. Shade and easy walking. And a little wildlife, too!
Great COVID safe outdoor place for the whole family! Eat at the cafe, so good!
The museum part was closed. But the 1 mile walking path around the lake was open. Very beautiful walk with water views, bridges, fish feeding spots, Japanese statues everywhere, bamboo, flowers, and bonsai trees.
Love the environment, friendly staff and just the views of nature are amazing. Love it so much I am now a member ️
Always beautiful even in the heat. A must vist. There even is a Godzilla
Beautiful well maintained gardens. Be sure to buy the fish/turtle food, especially fun for kids to feed them. Cafe has good food for lunch. Nice to see lots of families and people of all ages enjoying the gardens.
We loved this place. The views are stunning full of gardens and trees. I went with my family and friends including 4 toddlers. One suggestion for management is that they should tell people there is a big gator living in the lake. The first thing you see when you enter the premises is a gorgeous lake, and kids just went running towards it. No one told us to be extra careful with the little ones as it could be very dangerous. We saw the gator swimming in the lake as soon as we got to the lake. Letting families know could avoid a tragedy. There are signs but not visible enough. There should be a sign as soon as you get to the lake.
This place is spectacular to walk around take your time and take in the sights and atmosphere. It definitely is a place of zen.
We love going here. Even though it’s about a 1-1.5 hour drive for us, we’ve been 3 times in the past year. This last time we finally got to have lunch at the restaurant. It was great! I hope we can eat there again next time. One of my favorite things is the gift shop. Wonderful finds in there! We get something every time we go.I also LOVE the bonsai garden! It’s really one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen! It’s a great place to take pictures, relax, meditate, enjoy nature, and expose yourself to some Asian culture.Everyone should visit Morikami!
Relaxing afternoon of meandering through the garden. Easy access for handicapped.
Peaceful and beautiful are the only two words needed to describe my experience there. Make sure to get their Boba tea and just enjoy your walk through the bamboo trees and perfectly manicured bonsai trees.
Pretty area. Worth a stop if you have time. I would like to see it in spring or summer to see if there were more flowers in bloom as this time of year there’s not much color.
If youre looking to relax and enjoy nature this is the place to go. Beautiful plant and trees, water features make your stroll enjoyable. Plenty of parking. Entrance fee is reasonable. Staff is helpful and friendly. Gift shop and a place to eat.
Very well groomed plant life and calming waterfalls. Peaceful place to visit and relax. Dont miss the bonsai section and watch out for iguanas running around (theyre harmless!) I enjoyed seeing loads of turtles as well. Did not see any alligators...$15 standard admission
Always a delight to visit, a bit of zen in a busy world.
Great place to visit with outdoor social distancing and spectacular scenery.
One of the most beautiful gardens in FL! Everything in here gives you a feeling of peace. The design and architecture is beautiful and transports you to historical Japan seamlessly. The Bonsai garden is a must see and theres plenty of photogenic walkways, waterfalls, and flowers. If youre a student, dont for get your student ID for discount tickets!
Yesterday 07/17/2020 was a rainy day but that didnt stop us from enjoying the gardens. it was fantastic and surreal.
With lush green gardens and a peaceful lake at the center, this place is one of the most beautiful places to visit in South Florida. Their landscape revolves around Japanese art and culture. I always leave this place feeling happy and peaceful. I highly suggest that you visit this place if you happen to be in South Florida.
Had an amazing birthday trip with my Fiancee to Morikami, everything I could have dreamed of in one experience. Great handling of COVID-19 too, felt very safe with their guidelines in place.
What a beautiful place. My Wife and I come here a few times a year. I highly recommend that you visit here, if you are ever in South Florida
This is a beautiful place. You can really get the full experience if you give yourself at least a half day but I can easily enjoy a full day. It is a place you can take your own pace. The gardens are beautiful and the main ‘event’ so it’s better to go on a good weather day. There is a theater, restaurant and a museum. I highly recommend Lunch at the restaurant, the food is great, service is great, prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly. The gardens are very nice for picture taking. It is a nice place to spend the day with a friend, have a romantic day with a loved one or a peaceful day for a quiet stroll. It is a perfectly safe place to spend a day alone walking and reflecting. I can visit this place repeatedly! Highly recommend a visit here!
This is a fantastic place if youd like to take a break from your busy schedule. I would even recommend you leaving your phone in your vehicle and just taking a regular camera. Great views and tranquil scenery.
The place is so peaceful, its an oasis in a very busy city. The grounds are impeccable, the walk is beautiful, and the landscape is well maintained. The food at the cafe is excellent as well. Well be back.
My son took me and his daughter there. I live 40 minutes away and it was my 1st time. I love it instantly. The peace, serenity, scenery its beautiful! It became my favorite place to visit.
Tranquil, beautiful and serene. Gorgeous gardens. Great place for a trailed walk, they offer walking tours that you can listen to at your own pace. Many flowers, fish, turtles and birds. The bonsai trees are wonderful. Fantastic place for a family outing. Parking is free. There is a restaurant on the grounds.
Very beautiful place to take a walk. Its a little less then a mile long and shows some really cool traditional gardens. Would of liked a little more variety of plants and maybe even a zen garden but it was still pretty cool. Definitely worth going at least once if you are into Japanese culture and such
Entrance fee was 15$ for an adult and it was worth every penny. The views/scenery transported us to Japan. The park and trails had a relaxing ambiance which allowed us to hear the water, bamboo trees, and the wildlife. Touring the Bonsai Trees and museum allowed us to immerse ourselves into the culture.
Lovely gardens for all ages. I wish they had more signs with the Japanese words in kanji and Romanji to identify the features in the garden. Bridge, Pond Gate etc..then the Japanese word and pronunciation
Such a gorgeous place to visit for people of all ages! I absolutely loved the peacefulness of the gardens. Everything was beautiful and well-managed. There is a Japanese-inspired restaurant named Cornell Cafe that offers Pan Asian food and excellent service. If you eat outdoors, you will have a gorgeous view to enjoy while you eat your meal. The museum had an exhibit on anime which was world-class.
My husband and I got married here 12-6-14. Most amazing place ever, so beautiful & could not have asked for a better wedding venue. Food is also amazing! Alanna was the best coordinator ever
The Morikami Garden is a tranquil and beautiful piece of Japanese culture dropped into South Florida. It is a lovely spot to wander on my own, or bring guests that visit from out of town. The exhibits in the museum are always impressive and the cafe on the lake is fantastic. The festivals throughout the year are fun with amazing Taiko drumming, but they get more crowded every year as more people discover the magic of Morikami. Over all, a wonderful experience and well worth our time and money!
This is my second festival event I have done here. This time of year is perfect for touring the gardens. The main exhibits were not open during the New Year Festival so I cannot comment on that. Food trucks were great had some delicious tapas. The only drawback was the seating there was never enough and we had to use the portable bathrooms the other ones were all closed for the event as well.
Nice and beautiful nature. Peaceful they have been taken good care of the areas
A perfect place. Lovely blend of east meets west florida. Very elegant design.
Gorgeous, peaceful and staffed with wonderful people. Very reasonable and great respite from the busy and draining world. Incredible display of Bonsai trees!
What a wonderful place! We did not do the guided tour, because we prefer to go at our own pace, and the tour groups were too large to enjoy yourself. Everything about this place was well done. Lovely and peaceful.
Amazing place to walk in peace with my beautiful wife.
The gardens are beautiful. Very representative of genuine Japanese gardens that we have seen in Japan. It makes for a very relaxing 1 mile walk. The restaurant is also quite good with a range of genuine Japanese dishes that are very tasty and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend a walk followed by lunch.
Morikamis grounds are beautiful and so relaxing! The path is well marked and easy to follow. Had a very nice time. Would love to come back during one of their festivals.
Friendly people, nice food, and wonderful gardens. Being first time there bought yearly membership right on entry and have no regrets -
Lovely, tranquil gardens plus store, cafe and museum in Palm Beach County.
Beautiful in both the gardens and the museums! There are several small buildings within the gardens that showcase japanese culture in a fun and intriguing way. There are also rotating exhibits and shows in the main building (and a great gift shop!). After leaving Morikami I felt inspired to visit more museums and learn more about the many cultures of the world. Such a wonderful place!
Had a wonderful time at their oshogatsu Festival the entire place was clean. Also had a great time looking around at their various pieces of Arts through bonsai. If anyone is interested in Japanese culture this is a must-see. I will recommend this to everyone its just a great time all together.
Best park and lunchTranquilityRecommend to everyonePlace to take guests there..Love it
I go at least once a week to eat a bento box lunch, drink a bottle of sake, and then play pokemon go while listening to my books. Get the membership.
I usually greatly enjoy my visits to Morikami, but not so today. About 20% of the visitors on the narrow paths were not wearing masks. Instead of enjoyable, it was stressful being there. I didnt stay long.
Great place to visit at any age. Friendly people, nice food, and wonderful gardens.
Nothing I love more than a beautiful garden, and this one didnt disappoint. Meandering paths, tranquil vistas, interesting specimens...I really enjoyed the experience. Would like to return to try out the tea house and/or cafe, but arrived rather late in the afternoon and not enough time this visit to indulge.
Very pleasant surprise! Nice to know that a large botanical garden so well kept exists in Palm Beach County
What an unexpected surprise! I saw a sign on the turnpike pointing this place out and since I live all things Japanese I said why not. This place was beautiful! Perfect for all ages. Keep in mind there is a rather long walk for younger kids but the house on the left gives much opportunity for learning in both sides. As you walk, there’s beautiful areas to sit pretty much everywhere, mostly in the shade. You can buy fish food to feed the many fish you’ll come across in the extensive(yet green and kinda gross mossy) water. Turtles and iguanas and even the occasion alligator can be seen in abundance. I came on a Friday at 3pm so it wasn’t busy. Not sure how weekends would fare. Come! You won’t regret it! I’ll definitely be back
Very beautiful and varied scenery, with enough nooks, crannies, and multiple pathways that you can avoid feeling crowded. This is where my aunt recovered from cancer and one can see why, it is very peaceful, and a diverse landscape of trees, shrubbery, water life, stones, Zen gardens and vantage points make for a lovely activity alone or with others. The museum exhibit about Japanese settlement in Florida was totally new information to me, and there was also helpful info about certain gardens, without an overbearing amount of education about the plants, so that visitors can enjoy the experience for what it is without over-analyzing it.
Special relaxing serene...it takes about 3 hours to see everything. Wonderful afternoon. Reasonably priced.
Great place to relax and stroll casually taking in all the tranquility. Also there are so many turtles, Cichlids, and one gator just gliding through the lakes.
Immaculate except for many more spider webs than I remember. I could not walk on the marked entrance path.
Beautiful manicured gardens, we enjoyed feeding the fish....PS...you will see iguanas
This place is so beautiful. Is makes for an amazing date! Check out the restaurant and gift shop too.
I went as a group of ten five kids, five adults. Everyone had a great time. It was affordable, fun, and educational the kids really enjoyed the walk and so did the adults. I would definitely recommend this place to others and I myself will definitively be back.
Beautiful jem! A must go to! If you like walks, water views and beautiful gardens. This place is for you
I drove past so many times and finally decided to go. Now Im wondering why I didnt go earlier. The gardens are incredibly well maintained, peaceful, and offer beautiful views. Highly recommend!
The gardens here are beautiful and peaceful. Lots of different Japanese plants and decorations. Saw a few Iguanas around the gardens. A nice place to take alot of pictures. I was visiting on a trip but if I lived in the area I would definitely become a member.
The gardens are gorgeous! The cafe has authentic and delicious Japanese food. Definitely going again!!
What a beautiful venue. We were there for a wedding recently. When you first drive into the Morikami Museum and Japanese Garden, it feels as if youre going into a different world. There is a long, winding road that leads to the parking lot (free). Theres also ample parking, which was good.I cannot comment much on the museum portion but the garden was gorgeous. Definitely bring comfortable shoes to walk around! The garden itself contains lush, green foliage and very neatly curated paths. There is a large lake in the center and a little intimate waterfall nearby. There are benches for short rests and the staff do provide wheelchairs for the disabled and elderly to enjoy the garden. My favorite parts have to be the huge koi fishes and turtles that reside in the lake. There were also sightings of herons and cormorants. It is definitely a place I would like to revisit on my own again in the future.
I could easily sit anywhere amongst the gardens for hours and hours. It’s so peaceful! I loved the bonsai and the unique presentations of past and present Japanese culture. I felt like I was visiting Japan without leaving Florida! I had a perfect date with my boyfriend. Everything is well maintained. The gift shop has very cute cards and other items.Update: I just got engaged here!!! This place will forever hold the best memories of my life!
Beautifully sculpted grounds. Unfortunately covid has closed the museum. Ill go again, but in the Spring when azaleas are in bloom.
Beautiful scenic gardens. Relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend for a two hour getaway in nature with beautiful flowers, gardens, and wildlife
Lovely place for a walk! It takes anywhere from 30 min to 1.5 hours to walk around the property depending how much time you spend in each garden. It’s organized in such a way that you begin in the early gardens, dating back to the 9th century, and finish in the modern gardens of today. There is plenty of shade, so although we went when it was very hot, it was doable. Just bring plenty of water!Staff is friendly and do all they can to keep you safe (masks must be worn inside, social distancing when entering, etc.). There is also a cafe and gift shop, although the galleries were closed when we visited due to COVID. A must see if in the area!
