During this pandemic period going to the movies provides comfort and a much needed sense of normalcy. The theater did a great job of making the best of the worst.
I love this theater but heres a super idea for you to use in the future!! Dont get ripped off by overpaying for the Collector Tins again!!The reason for this post is because half way through Endgame I needed a refill of my in the special AMC Endgame Collector Tin that I purchased. They told me that they do not refill tins, they only refill large sThis made absolutely no sense to me because I had purchased a tin from a different AMC multiple times and even one from this location and they always refilled it. I had the nice lady working the register explain all the pricing and to my amazement I found out the best deal ever. They refunded my money for the Tin filled with and a large soda and charged me for a large and a large soda + an empty Tin. The result of this transaction ended up costing me a mear $0.95 more than the Tin filled with and a large soda. That also gained me free refill. Now for the rest of the story: buy a large and a large soda and get the Tin for $.95 more than buying just the Tin and soda. Take your large and dump it into your new empty tin and hand the empty large back to the cashier for a refill!!!!Please like this post if you find it to be a good tip!!Check out the burden of proof in the attached photos!!! Have fun and remember to always think outside the box!!
I love this theater. The reclining seats are great. They hold to the social distancing. I hope people start going again, so they do not go out of business.
Theaters are extremely cleanStaff is friendlyPopcorn and snacks are tasty though they could be warmer but are very expensive. Think ballpark prices. They have 2 soda kiosks with a huge variety of Coke products including Fuze teas. Both tickets and snacks can be purchased ahead of time on line using their app. You get to choose your seats at that time. Auditoriums are small and all are equipped with recliner seats. All are wheelchair accessible with spots at the rear of the auditorium but since they are small you wont be too far away. Plenty of free parking with easy street access.
Only complaint is you find out at the door neck gators arent allowed. Very inconvenient to be forced to buy a different mask last minute.
Has reclining seats and you can lift the arm rest between two of them and cuddle through the whole movie. The popcorn is pretty good too. Made for a lovely date night with my hubby.
They updates the seating a few years ago so there are loungers. There are also discounts if you attend a showing that begins before 5 pm.
Great place to watch a movieThe only down side everytime I go I ask for the number 5 and they never seem to have it.They say its to do with demand but if its never available how do you create a demand ridiculous
I love our new-ish theater in DeKalb. Its comfortable, although Id like them to clean up better than they do for the price of the tickets. The soda station and butter kiosk was unsanitary, for $11 a ticket I think they could easily hire a person to use a cleaning tool to do rounds regularly. The floors are appalling, its got to be better cleaned. Bathroom was in better shape. I noticed the ads for the theater feature four star bartenders and such, but ours is just standard movie theater kids with matching shirts. Otherwise the seats are nice and super comfortable and were relatively clean. Im still giving five stars because its super nice. One thing I noticed is that you should order tickets online, its cheaper. Plus I am joining as a rewards member because it might pay off which is cool and you can visit other AMC theaters, too.
What a beautiful theatre. Chairs are mega comfy plenty of room. Screen was clear and staff was super sweet and friendly
I havent been here since seeing Mad Max Fury Road. The new seats are very nice and roomy. Im 63 and my knees arent up against the sear in front of me anymore. Its very clean and modern inside.
Like the ticket reservations and picking your seat online. otherwise, a fairly basic theater, good from an audio/visual standpoint, but no reclining chairs or any of the real frilly stuff theaters are starting to do now.
Love the reclined seating just occasionally Ive gotten a seat that doesnt work. Overall though love the quality of the picture and seating
I enjoyed the place. The room was clean and the seats were clean as well. The sound and picture quality were great as well.
First time in this theater since they remodeled a while ago! Comfy, electric driven reclining seats make it like youre at home while enjoying the big screen. Only three stars because 1. they didnt have enough staff to accommodate the various entry styles, though I think concessions couldve spared a person, creating some confusion. 2. the sound was low in the theater, though we could hear the booming from the next-door theater. 3. bring a blanket because it was cold in there!
I’m giving this theater a 2 star because it’s really nice and the seats are comfortable... The services was mediocre, but I guess that’s what to expect when dealing with typical long linesThe fact that I can’t go see a movie in dekalb until 2pm during the week is a major issue with me. In the past I thought it was a seasonal thing opening later In the early evening, or maybe the movies I was the I interested in seeing, but NO that’s not the case at all. This theater hours are strange and needs to be changed I know this is effecting the profits(can’t make money if your Closed).
Good place for movies... Screen may seem small but the comfort level is awesome... Sound system is okay....
Awesome theater! I only wish they had deals for regulars for the popcorn and drinks! Hint hint!
I wont be coming back here, would rather drive 20+ miles then give my money to the employees who work here. Employees from the ticket takers to management have made every trip here worse with their rudeness and ineptitude. I dont usually write negative reviews but this place deserves it. To save your $ and to have a more enjoyable movie night, go literally anywhere other than here.
It was terrible! the movie screen would not work they had to restart the movie. and we had to rewatch the hole movie we paid 30 dollars to watch this movie. it is terrible service. the only good thing about the place is there seats!!! the workers are so rude and i’m sitting here annoyed on how much i paid to watch a terrible movie quality!! NEVER again.
Recliners for seats and comfortable. Good sound and picture in theater. Variety of snacks and some foods. The line coming in is a bit odd as everyone waits whether a member or not as only one person at the counter should you go before 6.
Nice theatre but bring blankets. It was like 62°F in there. BrrrrNot just me
Needs DEEP CLEANING!! We bought tickets online and premier members. However even with having tickets still had to stand in line to have scanned.
Awesome movie theater, the reclining chairs are definitely plus! The price for a matinee 3D movie in a reclining chair is $12.95, this is a great deal!
They have really nice reclining chairs which makes watching movies so comfortable! The food and drinks are pretty expensive, but thats pretty typical for a movie theater. Other than the prices on the food/drinks, the experience was wonderful and very comfortable.
They may have changed the design but the staff and crowd are the same. Went to see The Curse of La Llrona at 6:45pm opening night on Friday. First, the projector got bumped and had cropped the screen much smaller. I informed an employee who told me it happens often. It still took over 20 minutes for them to literally just flip it back to the normal setting. Then the employees in the booth “fixing it” proceeded to have a full length conversation near the open window into the theater, completely disrupting the ambiance of the horror build up. After they left, the couple that brought their three children (all under the age of 8) had issues keeping their youngest children quiet... in an R rated horror film... about killing children... so a toddler talked through the whole movie and although employees were notified by multiple people, they came in and pointed out the family but then did absolutely nothing to fix the situation. They didn’t even approach the family to ask them to pipe down. I had high hopes for the theater since the remodel but this was horrible. My wife and I come to the theater on a regular basis and easily drop $50 every single time, but I can promise this will be the last movie we ever see at this theater.
Great with recliners and website reservations but Ive been to an AMC with a bar and this one doesnt have that
Great seats, decent movie prices, but of course, pricey snacks.
Very nice theater, comfortable seating. Bought tickets online so very convenient check in.
The good: The reclining seats are top notch, very comfortable. Ticket prices were very affordable. Only 20 minutes of ads, thankfully. The bathroom was very clean. The bad: We waited in line at the snack bar for several minutes even though there was only one party ahead of us. We got bored of waiting and just went to out seats, snackless. The ugly: The door to our theater was broken and would slam shut. When it was open sunlight would illuminate the screen. The adjacent theaters were very loud. At several points during our movie it was hard to hear over the bass from other movies playing.
Comfortable seating. Although pricey, especially on weekend nights, we have a lot of fun here. The popcorn is yummy and we love being able to recline and relax as we watch the movie. We missed out on our birthday treat by one day, and the manager gave it to us anyways with our rewards program there. Great customer service. We like to go every month, or a couple times a month and have never been disappointed.
Small, but clean and affordable. Comfortable reclining seats and first run movies. Best of all worlds.
AMC Market Square 10 is a very clean theater. It has all the hot new movies as well as some others occasionally. There are 10 screens, and the size of each one is smaller. However, due to smaller size, it feels very personal and comfy. The concessions are not as expensive as many conventional theaters. It is a great place to go, and never very crowded!
Its okay. The entrance to there is deplorable though. And they refuse to fix it. Now, DeKalb is going to increase taxes to fix the entrance. Thanks, DeKalb AMC owners. Im so glad you care so much for your costumers /s.
Nice comfortable seats always convenient to get tickets on line. Some of the nicest and customer friendly staff around.
Customer service, the ticket handler and the cashier at the concession stand all were well trained. The manager was well diverse in every movie, I had an amazing conversation talking about future films as well. Great surround sound and love the new seating arrangement.
AMC Market Square 10 is one of my favorite places to go I just came from there today actually from seeing frozen 2. This movie theater is like having a theater at home its comfy and welcoming the food besides the pizza in my opinion is good and the customer service is exquisite. The bathrooms are always clean when I go and the movies they show are always up to date. From comedy and scary to family to scifi in the end there are always smiles on everyones faces.I recommend going here EVERYTIME you want to see a movie.
Recliners are Fab! All the commercials? Not so much. The popcorn didnt smell as enticing as it should have. Was it the oil?
Love the remodel roomy commfy new seats.
I have been here several times... I rarely go to another theater because I can always count on market square 10 being clean, having friendly personnel, and the most comfortable seats.
Very annoying when you hear the heating system make constant noises and you can hear the booming base from the theatre next door when you are trying to watch a very nice, somewhat quieter movie. This has happened numerous times. I have complained, but nothing changes. For the amount of money being spent at a movie, it should not be a bad experience every time. Please listen to your patrons!
Great seating upgrade, but minimal show times and low contrast projection make this the least wanted option for seeing a movie.
Always a good experience every time my family comes here. I love the reserved seating and the food selection is phenomenal!
We loved going here and the price is just awesome
First time visiting the cinemas...and won’t be coming back, the man who was serving me and my cousin was friendly but the guy stood behind him was so rude and rude to his colleague! I am 36 and got refused to see the joker film because I needed ID! I was shocked as I am from England and didn’t know I needed my passport to watch films in America that are age restricted, but for future reference I will, but the man in the red shirt needs some lessons in customer service and needs to speak to his colleagues with more respect...
Chairs are very comfortable but it seems in the winter and cold months the theaters heat isnt the best
So comfy seat recline refills on popcorn bring a lite blanket and get cozy !!
Its a good place to watch a movie.
Love the remodel but sick and tired of them always being out of food.
I like almost everything about this theater. The ticket pricing is a little high but just join the club for $20 a month and you can see 3 movies a week. If you also have the popcorn bucket the prices are reasonable here. The seating is great, reclining and comfortable. The thing that they really need to improve is their wait times. It seems they operate on a skeleton crew even on weekends when big movies are coming out. If this improves I will definitely update my review. But overall I would still choose this theater over others.
Really recommend their. The staff are very respectful and i always walk out with a smile
I know you can get tickets on line and I probably on the future. We waited in line for quite some time while one person was at the ticket counter. He was up selling, selling specials etc., all as the line waited. Ridiculous how long it took to get a ticket. The heat was turned off half way through the movie and a chill set in.
I wasnt told what theater our movie was in. My son went in while I was buying our treats. So I stood there w my arms full wondering where to go.Short story=being more helpful to your patrons can make a Huge difference!! In my case I missed at least the beginning of our movie which shouldnt have happened!
Big comfortable reclining chairs! The food prices are high but not as bad as Elgin and other movie theaters. Lots of food selections like brick oven pizza and mozzarella sticks. Very nice staff. I go to this theater probably twice a month.
We always have a great experience at this theater!
Movie shut down 3 times. They did give out free movie passes. Popped corn should not cost 8.00 bucks.
Comfortable recliners just cant get over 20$ for popcorn and a drink. Food and drinks over priced but thats the way it is everywhere.
I enjoy the place. Even though my seats didnt function at first. The staff was promptly on it and fixed it. Definitely going back.
Amc is the #1 movie theater in illinouis but they are freacken expensivei love you amc .
The seats are great and the presentation of the movie was fantastic. BUT, a movie that was supposed to begin at 3:30 didnt actually start until 3:59. Nearly a half-hour of ads and previews - unacceptable.Just went again. The Tuesday reduced price matinee is great. The movie was great and the sound was fantastic. There was a slight inprovement to only about 20 minutes of ads. BUT - there was no one at the ticket booth and everyone had to stand in a really long line to buy tickets at the concession counter where there was only one person waiting on customers full time and one who seemed to be occasionally otherwise occupied. On getting some drinks we found that the inconvenient soda dispenser kept saying that diet soda was unavailable. Terrible customer service!
Great place to relax in recliner seats.
Since the remodel, this has become our favorite theater. Before AMC took over, it was a dump.My husband and I joined the AMC A-list so we visit this theater at least once a week now. I like that I can reserve our seats ahead of time on the AMC app, so we dont have to get to the theater early to fight for a good spot! Plus, they have a separate line for A-list members so they just have to quickly scan your app, and youre on your way.The food is fine, but we try to avoid junk food as much as possible. Once in a while our daughter will want a flatbread pizza or some popcorn, and weve never had a problem with it not being fresh. The recliners are very comfortable, and I like that the seats are numbered to make it easier to find your spot, and they are spaced far apart enough in the rose that people dont have to close their chairs if youre trying to pass by other patrons to exit the theater.
I really enjoy coming to Market Square it always clean, the reclining seats are Great. Also the food is pretty good. The remodeling was well worth it.
You know what. No complaints from me. Friendly staff, clean building, comfortable electric recliner seats (big people friendly!). I enjoyed the movie.
This theater has been extensively remodeled within the last year. They now have the recliner type seats. There is plenty of legroom and the seats are very comfortable too. My experience has been very good here. The staff are attentive and the place is kept very clean. I find it an excellent place to see a movie.
The curly haired manager is very rude and unprofessional
Close parking .plenty of restrooms. The best seats and no smoking
The theater is in good shape. The power recliners with reserved seats are great. Staffing is always minimal and the ticket and snack bar waits are very long.
Small, intimate, friendly staff, nice chairs
Ever since the seat update and conversion to AMC, Ive been to Market Square quite a few times! Ive been a member of the AMC Stubs/Premiere program for quite a few years. As a result, we did not go to the theater in DeKalb all that often. When the changeover happened, we switched back. Firstly, theres the AMC aspect of the change: ability to reserve seating, rewards on ticket/snack purchases - thats why we started going to AMC. Secondly, the updated theater is so comfortable. The theater seats are nice and comfortable. The theater is usually chilly, so I usually take an extra sweatshirt with me (and I usually am hot all the time). The downsides to this theater are the crazy long lines EVERYWHERE. Theres no kiosk to print out passes, and they cant scan tickets on your phone - so you have to wait in line somewhere. There may be two people at the ticket counter, but usually one of those is not working. You can also print out tickets at concessions - but the lines there are usually longer. Go to matinees, and snacks are almost affordable. There are dedicated Premiere lines (for those who pay the annual fee), but every time Im there, the employees dont see you because the line is too far off to the side.
I poo poo my pants because black widow falls off the cliff. thanos died, everyone expect tony stark survived I LOVE 3000! and also this a msg to the guy in the back.. the person with the white sedan you left your lights on
You could basically just walk into the theater without paying because of their lack of personnel paying attention (not that I would care to try). If you sit in the first two rows, you may as well be watching a cam rip an inch away from your computer screen. The new seats are very comfortable though. I hope my next experience is enjoyable.
This theater has decent sound and picture quality, standard movie theater options at the snack bar (they have the coke freestyle beverage dispensers - which are pretty cool, and since they have 4 of them there is generally not an additional wait for your drink). Lines at concessions are generally short. All of the screens have now been remodeled to feature leather recliners and the seats are reserved when you purchase your ticket.
The staff here is terrible. My guest didnt have an I.d. ( age 22) and they wouldnt let her in since she didnt have her I.d. which is fine I understand rules are rules but they didnt try to help at all. The associate was very unhelpful when I asked to talk to a manager she said why. The African American supervisor (I didnt get his name) is terrible and very unhelpful. He wouldnt help me with getting a refund, didnt care that I couldnt get in. However Jason is very nice and was helpful. Also Jason is the only one with great customer service! He accommodated me and resolved the situation.
Theyre really expensive but their seats are so comfortable! I dont ever really get the snacks I just asked for a water. I always eat before I go but I love the comfy seats. The staff looks kind of bored but usually theyre pretty happy. But I do enjoy the movies that they carry. And they always have the latest ones and their matinees are amazing too. I love there matinees the most. Not just because theyre cheaper, but also because of the movie selections they have for the matinees.
Liked the theater and the $5 Tuesday price. Good popcorn.
Went to see The Meg and we loved it. Theater was clean and service was good. HOWEVER, I had accidentally left my keys inside the cup holder and the doors to the theater were locked behind me. I had my two small children and banged on the door, panicked. There was a staff member who LOOKED RIGHT AT ME and chose to IGNORE my pleas until I was able to make my way back in due to another couple leaving. He was then VERY rude to me and told me to leave because he had to call management. I understand needing management, but my concern was that this man chose to ignore me and my children! WHAT IF WE HAD BEEN IN IMMINENT DANGER?! If he had been wearing a name tag, I would have reported him! Very displeased with this individual!!
Disorganized ticket counter. Good seats.
Movie screen was out of adjustment so the screen looked like you were watching a full screen movie with a thick black border and had flashes of white light across the bottom for the first part of the movie. When reported employee response was “happens regularly” then no prompt response to either offer to fix it or offer a refund. The employees who eventually fixed it, talked loudly in the booth which killed the scary movie tension. Specifically got tickets after 6 so we wouldn’t deal with kids. Unfortunately this was not enforced and multiple children talked/cried through the movie. Employees were notified by multiple patrons but nothing was done to fix this matter. If you plan on seeing any R rated movies or want to enjoy a child free date night, this is not the theatre for you. Theatre in St. Charles has better pricing, staff, and less issues.
Place has improved since being acquired from Carmike. Better seats though do mean less seating in the theater. Also having to choose your seat when you buy your tickets has its advantages and disadvantages.
Have only seen a handful of movies here but the place seems to be clean and the theater is of good quality. Only suggestions would be to add more ticket tellers on the weekend. It usually takes a bit to get your ticket.
This theater is very clean, they offer a variety of foods and snacks, the chairs recline w the push of a button, if you reserve your seat, at no extra charge, your seating is guarantee,, the crowd is respectful,,, where you can enjoy your movie,,, staff is curteous and helpful,, i would recommend you come here
After the update with recliner chairs. Me and my husband only go here to watch movies nowI wanted to acknowledge a worker that I saw working really hard every time I go. He is always so helpful. Thank you Bryton!
Went on a Friday night got there about 8:30. There was no one in line to buy tickets so had to buy everything at the concession stand. Movie was suppose to start at 9:15 it started late. The seats are amazing!!! Movie was great!! But walking out after the movie was horrible. Bathrooms were closed, and the parking lot was dark. There was ZERO lights on outside. When you have people leaving and walking across a parking lot in the pitch dark its dangerous. I just about fell over something in the parking lot and I was glad I was with my husband cause I would of been helpless if someone was by my vehicle. This place use to be 5 stars but now the 3 stars I gave was being very generous.
Made us fresh popcorn.
Comfy recliners & delicious popcorn!
Everyone said go online and reserve seats. We did...wanted to see Train your dragon....all seats but 4 were unavailable. Since I was taking two young grandchildren seperate seats did not work. So we looked at the Lego movie. Only showed one row available so we took them . We live 45 minutes away...got there early to buy $40 worth of refreshments. Our row was filled....only 10 others scattered about in the show. Explain this to me please. I bet the first choice movie was not full either. I am very upset about this. Yes seats were fine but online seating was very deceptive.
This is a clean, comfy-seated theater, perfect for a whole family movie night... HOWEVER... Do to the immensely unpleasant experience I had the other night at this establishment I am unable to rate it higher than . Allow me to explain... The other night I went alone to the AMC to see the film Tag (I had been looking forward to the film since I first saw the red band trailer. Being only 14 (Although given my 180 IQ my mental age is a lot older), I was forced to sneak into the theatre using a fake ID (My fathers bartending license). I went up and asked for a ticket for Tag and a large Sierra Mist, but then a dismissive employee informed that not only was there a seperate line for concessions, but also that Tag had been out of theatres for months! From there I was forced to buy a ticket for The Lion King, which was neither Kosher nor Kino
This movie theater has been recently renovated, it really needed it! It now has really big reclining seats, with leg rests. New paint inside and out. Im pretty sure The sound and projection has been updated as well. The price has gone up, but I would say its worth it now.
Good deal on Tuesdays. Comfortable recliners, but they squeak when putting the legs up and down.
Love the upgrades. Food/drink prices are little high. It was 6.95 for a large coke
Very decent movie theater. Ive been there a couple of times to see different movies. My only complaint is that commercials take forever. On average youll be sitting there for about 30 minutes before the movie actually even starts.
I’ve had several pretty bad experiences here the last few times we visited. Recently when viewing the joker, it was so cold in the theater that we considered leaving. I had a winter jacket, winter boots and hat on the whole movie.
Worst theater customer service Ive ever experienced. The new reclining seats are nice but dont make up for the total apathy of everyone who works there.Twice now we have been directed to the concession stand to buy movie tickets because the ticket booth computers werent working. This means a 10-15 minute wait in line while they try to sell popcorn to everyone trying to buy tickets. Showing up to the theater 15 minutes in advance used to be plenty of time, but last time we were here we almost missed the start of the movie due to the long ticket line. To top it off, once they were able to start up the ticketing computer again, they took the BACK half of the line and redirected them to the ticket booth to buy their tickets. The rest of us who had been waiting for 15 minutes were left to stand in the concession line.I have spent a lot of years working in retail and customer service. I dont expect every business to run perfectly, or for my every need and desire to be met 100%. What I do expect, however, is for a business to at least pretend they care about my experience as a customer. If youre wondering why the movie theater business model is crumbling, I invite you to see a movie at AMC Market Square 10.
Purchased tickets for my teenage daughter and her friend. Staff hassled them. I will NEVER go there again.
Went to see endgame fun place to go with friends or your girl. Popcorn cost more then tickets though bring your own.
Recently changed to an AMC location. They changed the lobby and upgraded the menu a little. They added reclining seats to the theaters. Now they need to redo the bathrooms, nicer towel dispenser and hand dryer.
Excellent theatre with great seats
