Didnt get to go inside due to renovations but the gardens and trails were phenomenal the grounds keepers work hard and it shows definitely recommend. And definitely going back to see the newly renovated house. You can follow their progress on the website
Absolutely beautiful place. I love bringing my children here to burn off energy.
Loved seeing the grounds outside. We would have liked to have viewed the inside if not for Covid.
This place is awesome if you enjoy historical things. It was closed for renovations but I really enjoyed just walking the grounds and looking at the buildings. The folks that work here were great! I will definitely be back to see the inside when it reopens. My favorite part is the the statue of Mr Ford next to his wife overlooking the flower garden. A reminder to make time to be still and enjoy simple pleasures.
Just absolutely beautiful!!Would recommend to anyone that visit Dearborn
Great place to take a lil hike. Beautiful place and its hard to believe that your in the middle of a city
Beautiful garden. Nothing much to see. Nothing inside and you cant go in. The security guard is creepy and followed us around.
Love coming here with my kids. Its a nice free way to spend time outdoors.
Very pretty, wish we could go inside.
A real treat. The view is really scenic. The pond behind the house has a small waterfall. There are wooden seats and stone steps to sit on. Its very quiet and breezy. We events are held there as well. A landmark of Dearborn. You cant miss. Make sure you check if the house itself is open for visitors before you visit.
Beautiful gardens and land to walk around, and I am looking forward to the interior of the home opening back up once the remodeling is complete.
Nice little area to go for a walk. Cool to look at the older buildings. I’d love to see it in the spring when flowers have bloomed. Four stars because dogs should be allowed on leashes. Dogs are far less destructive than children .
Very nice visit. You cant go inside because of covid.
I went to walk to ground and took some beautiful pictures. They close at 6 so be sure to leave at 6. They are not open weekends which is very sad. Weekends are the best time to go and spend the day.
Its beautiful my kids loves it
Beautiful grounds, plenty of shady areas to walk on a warm afternoon.
If you have the time to visit here I would highly recommend it. The house is beautiful, as well as the woods surrounding it. Going for a walk here is always nice and there’s so much to see.
This is my comfort place. Always loved being there
Beautiful grounds in the winter time. I would imagine theyre breathtaking in the summer. If youre looking for a nice place for a quick stole this is the place!
I didn’t expect this place to take up so much of my time, and I mean that in a good way. Although the place it’s not that big, you will be consumed by the sheer beauty and wonder of this property. I can see many events being held here. And I hear they have a wonderful garden market in the summer where you can find some beautiful plants to take home. I learned a lot about what can grow in my own yard by studying the plants here. I now have 4 successful rose bushes and plan on planting a bee balm garden modeled after the one here. Such a lovely place to visit. I highly recommend going.
Amazing location. Need a photo permit now to shoot though...boo!
This is a really cool place to just walk around outside they sure have gotten rid of a lot of things enclosed a lot of things off I guess we can just blame covid-19 for everything nowadays what a shame not what it used to be when I was a kid
This is a beautifully maintained property.
Ive gone here since I was very young. I have fun everytime I go here. Henry Ford was an extremely fascinating man and to see his home and grounds is just a great experience!
Very beautiful grounds
Inside is closed for remodeling as of 9/2019. The grounds are still worth strolling and didnt have any issues with parking. Very beautiful, scenic and relaxing place.
Great for a brief afternoon stroll
When I was 9 yrs old, in the summer of 1965, me and a couple of neighbor kids got to riding our bikes adventurously and happened on a trail that we decided was tempting to see where it led to. We got to the Rouge River and there was this huge house across it overgrown with weeds and obviously abandoned. We stopped to admire the haunted place for a moment when suddenly a pickup truck appeared with a man and woman in it who were determined to chase us away. We scrammed out of there fast! They must have been there for that express purpose. A favorite old memory of mine.
It is under renovation so you can only walk around on some of the grounds. I will go back once complete.
We wrapped up our visit of the area last summer when we visited Fair Lane, the home of Henry and Clara Ford. It was under renovations at the time so we could only visit the grounds. The Fords gave back so much to the community, such as with the University of Michigan, Hospitals, Schools, etc. His legacy lives on with the Ford Foundation that was founded 85+ years ago by his son Edsel and Henry currently it is still worth over $ 12 billion with annual grants to charity of over a half a billion dollars each year. A great family giving back! We salute them! I learned so much, our next vehicle may just need to be a Ford! 2nd large building is an early electrical plant built by Thomas Edison, Henry Fords old boss and life long friend
Beautiful property. Too many mosquitos to actually enjoy walking around the garden. The security here really has to relax. If you come with a professional camera, they run to you and tell you youre not allowed to use it to take pictures of someone. You can take pictures of the house or the flowers, but as soon as you pan that professional camera to a human, youre asked to leave . This is because they require a $250 permit to take photos on the property. Ridiculous.
Amazing scenery and great hiking trails
Absolutely beautiful and serene.
Nice place for an outing with friends and family.
One of most amazing masterpieces in the world.
Very interesting place. The tour takes a few hours but none of it is boring!
Awesome place and great nature walk
I attended a wedding here so it was a more than fantastical experience. The reception was in the former pool area. We got a free tour of the home. The view of the garden was beautiful. It was really just awesome to be here with so many people I had a great time.
Its a very nice place
Nice place to wander through Fords historic estate grounds. No access to the interiors of the buildings. But the grounds are beautiful.
Excellent! Plenty beautiful moments to see. The grounds are fantastic!
A female Security guard was extremely rude and patronizing toward us because we had our 3 month old puppy with us, it was our first time visiting from out of town and just wanted to ealk the gardens. We quickly left.
If youve never been here... Make sure you check it out!.... Its a beautiful place...Great place to take photos... Cant wait for the interior to be open to the public
Beautiful spring like days, walking the trails with my family.
Went on a special visit. Since its not open to the public. Wow beautiful hiuse amazing architecture. Will return when it opens again.
The Henry Ford Estate is a wonderful and unique place to have small functions. The nature trails and wildlife are always fun to watch and trek on.
Beautiful home and grounds!
I love it here. The grounds are fantastic and so peaceful. Spent many times going there and relaxing by the river.
Beautiful grounds, perfect for taking photos and enjoying the landscape, the house itself is closed for renovations.
Great place to walk around the lake and house!
We went fairly early on a Sunday morning in late August, and we were almost the only ones there. We werent able to go inside the building, but the grounds were beautiful.
Beautiful place for walks of adventure and peace of mind!
Buildings closed but you can walk all over and peak in. Fabulous. The workmanship and innovation were cool.
Its a beautiful historic place. The view is amazing. Go there to just walk around and hang out.
This is my run away to spot when I am overwhelmed by life. This is a beautifully kept treasure in Dearborn. My favorite spot is by the dam. The rushing water and beautiful birds and gardens calm my spirit. Try not to miss this jewel if you come to Dearborn, Mi..
Historic.
Overlooked Free. Fun.Beautiful trails and mansion.Excellent. Grounds attach to miles and miles of Forests. Lakes. Rivers. Hines Park.A Gem. A 10.
Beautiful property. A nice place to go for a walk and take photos. The gardens are really beautiful.
Beautiful grounds
Thats one of best historical places around Detroit area.
This is my favorite spot to be. I come as often as I can. Brought a friend for the first time. Walked the grounds. Beautiful.
Delightful gardens and house that herald another time. Wear your walking shoes and be ready to take in life from another era. Be sure to listen for the nearby train whistle from Greenfield Village.
House wasnt open yet, so check out the website or call before going. Grounds are open and nice. Im a car nut and henry ford was a historical groundbreaker. Cars would not be what they are today without him.
Inside house for event. Its being renovated. Most furnishings removed. Interior woodwork was painted in the 1940s. Paint is being painstakingly removed and interior being restored to original. Huge project.
Great landscape nice location for some quick shots
Beautiful relaxing place. Great trails we really enjoyed it will be visiting again.
A cool place to see
Would have given it a higher rating if it was open. Its closed for renovations. But, the grounds are very beautiful, flowers everywhere.
Kinda nice, but not a lot to do. And they have a lot of snakes.
I was visiting here with a group of young people. We had a lovely time exploring the estate.
The home is under renovation so its closed. However, the grounds are open and free to the public. Beautiful grounds for photos. We ran into a volunteer who gave so much historical information. It was like a private tour in the garden. Its a must see.
Fair Lane has always been beautiful, but with the restoration theyre doing, its going to be breathtaking once finished. The sneak peek we got was worth not being able to see it for several years. I love to walk the grounds in the summer - its amazing to have such an impressive estate in the middle of the city.
Wonderful gardens but a 4 year shutdown for maintenance is a bit long check the website and make sure it is open before
Incredibly historic place but unfortunately it was closed due to restoration
Interesting, house being renovated not able to tour.
Visiting this place is truly a nice experience
I LOVE taking a walk here and is relaxing I come here every year
Great history and views, courteous staff. Nice place for a walk, pictures, or a day off volunteer groundskeeping.
I always love mr. Fords estate it is a place where you always want to go when youre stressed out thats living the life we supposed to have I took my best friend and his kids there and they loved it were going again thank you mr. Ford and their family. And may God be with you God bless you
Awesome volunteer opportunity
Beautiful placeDefinitely worth the time
We Love it there. We are on our 3rd generation going and walking the grounds. I miss the restaurant so much. I hope they bring it back also. The restoration work looks good. I cant wait till it is completed.
A good place to take some pictures or sit down and hear the flowing water and You can see the splendor of the house, its garden and some of the surrounding areas
Great place to visit, beautiful, absolutely stunning. And the history.
Beautiful grounds, nice place to walk around and have photo shoots
Fantastic place for events, very beautiful. We had our company summer party here and was awesome. If this review helped you please click the like button, thanks
Nice grounds to walk around. Inside is closed.
Ive always enjoyed walking the grounds over many years.
Stunning.
Wonderful and quiet. Great place to relax and meditate
Wonderful place, best place in Dearborn for a walk in the woods.
The grounds in the buildings really are pretty fantastic when you consider they were built at the turn of the century. The only downside right now is that its closed on the weekend for renovations but it is however open during the week. That does not include the main house or tours those are suspended as of now they may resume once the renovations are complete there are no notices giving any explanations. However you can park on the University of Michigan Dearborn campus and walk to the Fairlane house which also known as Henry Fords house is accessible just by crossing the street. The gardens in the walking trails are still open for the most part. Once the Fall colors of really picked up its going to be a very beautiful place.
