Van Houten Park

This is one of the last all wood parks in the downriver area and it rocks! I remember going here when I was a kid, playing tag and it was a blast! Today I bring my daughter here and we played tag and it brought back old memories. You may get a splinter but itll be worth it. Dont ever demolish this place!

This place is over grown and dirty. The wooden castle is wonderful but it seems to be abandoned.Im not impressed at all. Trash everywhere and weeds everywhere. Broken and missing swings. Broken fence. Trash in parking lot

A nice place to let the kids play. With a throw back playground where yo kids could get an splitter. If the splash pad open and theres a good crowd. You could spend a summer day there. Chilling.

Super awesome park, a nice brisk walk around the trail after dinner was great

My son loves this park. If the playground and splash pad werent enough, he can spend countless hours playing Pokemon Go.

Nice park. Well kept up. Both the picnic area and play scape was immaculately clean an maintained. Only thing complain is that the restrooms were still closed from the winter.

Wooden playground. Missing a zip line, swing or two, and misc. Elements.

Its a nice little place to walk around. Sometimes theres some riff-raff in the parking lot with people who think theyre really cool with their loud cars, but other than that, its cute. The play place is actually very, very nice and tons of fun for the kids. Lots of areas to run in an out of within the play escape, yet it has somewhat of a fence line so they cant sneak away or weirdos sneak in. One-ish way in, one-ish way out

Broken slide and overgrown with weeds. The sign says landscaping maintained by Home Depot. Overall a good play area for kids. Ill go back with my 3 year old.

Very pleasant place. Nice mix of all kinds of people having fun with their kids. It was clean and well maintained. We are going back aguuain sometime to play on the playscape.

This is a perfect little Park if you have little kids its perfect for them to say send a nice area park

Great wooden structures, but could use some TLC. Slide was broken and boarded up little zipline like structure broken and a few other things. But still a fun place for a toddler.

Nice place if have have young kids. Nice splash pad okay playscape. You can reserve the Pavilion with Dearborn Heights Park Recreations. Bring your own grill. Best of all it free

Take the kids here all the time. Staff on duty, park right next to splash pad so you have eyes on kids in both areas. Would rate 5 star if opened all days of the week and longer hours.

Nice neighborhood park. Has a playground, a splash pad, decent size track and soccer field. Also an active Pokemon Go site with 5 Poke Stops and a nest.

Didnt experience the playground but seen that its made of wood And very large, the skating rink is fair condition. Some of the concrete is bumpy but for the most part its nice.

Some place to hang out in the summer, has a splash pad for the kids and a nice gazebo area you can rent out for parties

BARELY ANY WATER COMES OUT OF THE PLAYSCAPE?!My 2 year old didnt even get that wet.Ill drive an extra mile for a WETTER Splash pad. Im not going to come back to this one + wood chips were ALL over the splash pad!

Cool place for kids, big play ground

The splash pad here for the kids is wonderful. My daughter loved coming here, and best, its free. The wooden playscape is gigantic and the kids have a blast. Oh, and did I mention the splash pad is free? ;)

Parking lot was plowed nicely... Right now it is very cold and snow covered

This is a water park n the middle of a residential area n Dearborn.it is well equipped and very clean.this is an ideal place 4 small children as parents have access to children and all activities easily as needed.

BC they have lots of different things to do and they have a plash pad so that way in the summer you can go there and cool down

Nice on the weekends during the summer when the splash pad is open, but during the week and in other seasons its full of litter/garbage and the kids run wild.

This is an unsafe park for small children. It is strewn with garbage usually and the bathrooms are not open on weekdays. Also the drinking fountain is turned off on weekdays. Poor use of taxpayers dollars in Dearborn Heights!!

Splash pad is only open on the weekends. Nothing on their website states this. Just drove 20 minutes only to have 2 disappointed kids. The info on the sign at the park should be on their website.

Its close to the house. Not very packed and can be very accommodating for parties and gatherings. Its very clean and usually has a staff somewhere to help.
