My two children are taking classes here. This is the best and only place I have found where all coaches are knowledgeable, patient and so nice with the kids. Both of my kids have learned so much. The staff have always answered to our concerns and they make sure we are happy with the schedule. The classes are fully 30 minutes, not as other places where is only 20min or less per kid. The price is perfect for it. The ratio of coaches: students is low so classes are pretty much personalized. We love this place!

Weve had a great experience at JMSS. The swim teachers are all great, my son love them. Jim is very quick to respond to any questions via email. All staff has been very welcoming. The pools are always clean. We plan to continue lessons as long as we need to, and we would definitely recommend Jim Montgomery Swim School to others!

My three children go to this swim school, oldest is in the swim team. We love their coaches, how talented and incredible teachers they are. We live 25 miles away from school but don’t mind taking our kids there because it’s hard to find a school like this where all the levels my kids are in are covered. Usually swim school teach younger kids up to 5 years old. JMSS doesn’t stop there, they have several swim teams, swim meets once a month. I highly recommend joining this school if you want you child to learn to swim and be safe in water.

After having been in 5 swim schools across 2 different states, this is hands down the best swimming program I have seen. The program is customized to the needs of every child and allows for children to progress at their own pace. The coaches and staff are very dedicated, respectful and helpful.

This review is based primarily customer service as we have done limited classes. From my first request for information to setting up an evaluation to questions I have had to scheduling classes have been top notch. It is hard to find good customer service these days and they hit it out of the park going above and beyond. I kept offering to pay for my high maintenance ways and kept being turned down! My son has loved his time there and keeps asking when he gets to go back! This is high praise as he loved his old swim school! I should also add with multiple opportunities to bad mouth other swim schools they did not and just discussed how their teaching method was different!.

My son has been taking swim lessons at Jim Montgomery for the last year. I was told this is THE place to take lessons in Dallas and I could not agree more. It is not only very well-organized but the quality of the instruction and my son’s progress has been impressive. We have been able to see him move forward as a swimmer and ENJOY his lessons without ever feeling pressure or fear. He has never once felt pressure to be at a place he is not and absolutely enjoys the water! They have a wonderful philosophy about swimming instruction and I believe it fares better for the child. The entire swim program is well setup and progress is recorded every class. Fun ribbons are a good motivation for the kids. The new app helps with scheduling and progress. We love JMSS! As a former competitive swimmer, it was important to find a class that would teach my kids the foundation of the sport. Speed can always come later, but learning how to swim the proper way the first time is key. My kids now love to swim, and we are so thankful for the teachers who help them! My kids took lessons else where for almost a year. We felt they did not learn much so we decided to switch to the Jim Montgomery swimming school. We are having a great experience at JMSWIM. Our son is 1 1/2 and started in CuddleFish and was making great progress. Due to COVID -19 we had to stop for a while, but now they reopened and he is extremely happy to be back! Their facility is extremely clean and have take extra measures to keep everyone safe during these crazy pandemic times. All teachers are very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend

The coaches are good. The coach student ratio is very good too. Most of the item it’s only my son or one more student with his coach. The front desk people are very helpful and always helped us with makeup classes. Strongly recommend.

Our 3 year old has been going to Jim Montgomery once a week for 6 months. We have been very impressed with his level of instruction, the coaches, staff and facilities. We have a pool in our backyard and I now feel completely sure he is able to swim to the edge and climb out on his own if needed. His favorite day of the week is when he has his swimming lesson.

JMSS has been an excellent addition to my son’s extracurricular activities. He suffered from ear and sinus infections and consequently was quite delayed in his swimming. The coaches at JMSS encouraged him and met him patiently and kindly where his swim skills had stalled. He recently joined swim team and JMSS is a huge part of his success. I simply cannot say enough good things about them.

I have always been skeptical about group swim schools, but when I noticed so many rave reviews for JMSwim on my mom’s group page, I wanted to check it out. I enrolled our eight year old first. He quickly gained more confidence and skills moving up from his stingray classes to swordfish and now swim team. After such positive experience with him, we enrolled our 4yo who loves her flounder class and is always excited to get in the pool. Even my husband has begun taking classes to feel more secure in our pool at home. We spend a lot of time at JMSwim and it’s always very enjoyable. Great family atmosphere and the most positive support group of coaches. I truly fantastic experience no matter the age or skill level.

Prior to coming to Jim Montgomery Swim School, my son had taken lessons at 2 other swim schools, and they don’t even come close to JMSS. The instructors here are amazing, and I have seen my son’s skills and confidence improve tremendously. We drive from North Carrollton passing several other swim schools near our house to come to JMSS. I could not be happier with this swim school.

Our two older daughters have been at JMSS for 2.5 years now and we have really enjoyed watching their progress. They have gained so much confidence in the water, largely attributed to weekly lessons all year round. Our youngest will start lessons soon and we can’t wait to see what she’ll learn!

JMSS has been SUCH a great find! My daughter (3 years old) learned more in her first lesson than she did during a whole summer of me trying to teach her to swim. I’ve been so happy with the instructors - each of them have been great with connecting with my daughter and the other kids in her class, which means a lot to me as an early childhood education specialist. The front desk staff have been professional and very accommodating, which makes for a great costumer service experience. I’ve been especially impressed with the commitment the staff and instructors have to the COVID-19 health and safety protocols they have had to implement. Though my experience is different now, post COVID, I’ve appreciated the thoroughness JMSS has had in their response. So, with all of that, I highly recommend JMSS!

I had my kid enroll in this school, i was not happy very happy with the ambient. I felt i was not welcome there or my daughter. I saw that my daughter was not treated like the other kids. Not very happy.

We have our 2 kids here and they love it. The staff creates a family friendly atmosphere. The management keeps a close eye on the instructors and pushes them to seek improvements in the pupils.

We absolutely love JMSS! We enrolled our little girl in swim lessons with JMSS 8 months ago and she has learned so much and can swim from one side to the other side of the pool on her own! However they are taught more then just to learn how to swim, they are taught safety and other swim techniques! The staff/ coaches are great, they are very patient with the kids and make sure their students lean each technique and they always try to accommodate you if you miss a lesson. Jim (the owner) is always there and very friendly down to earth gentlemen. He’s always watching his swimmers and talking to parents!

We’ve tried several swim schools before this one and Jim Montgomery is by far the most professional and caring way to teach.My 3 grandchildren all attend weekly. My granddaughter made the swim competition team.Our family believes in extreme water safety and becoming a proficient swimmer and possibly saving someone else is quite an accomplishment.Even the 2 yr old can swim to the side and climb out to save himself.All the coaches are so loving to the children-never scaring or pushing them. The front desk personnel try hard to accommodate class schedules to fit your schedule and make-up lessons.The faculty is very clean and child friendly. As you can tell, we love it

I definitely advise everyone to have their children to attend to Jim Mondgomery’s swim classes. They grow up the gold medalists for the future. Everyone is so polite and professional. This school has an AMAZING approach to helping ADULTS learn to swim. I’ve taken three separate swim classes as an adult over the past 15 years and have failed to become water safe. This year for my fourth attempt to master the basics, I decided to try Jim Montgomery Swim School. I knew I was comfortable in shallow water but did not have the ability to perform sufficient breath exchange and still harbored a pretty good fear of deep water. I started with Beginner Swim. These four classes with Cheryl were phenomenal. By the end of the sessions I was able to move the entire length of the larger pool without touching the bottom or sides. This was a huge improvement for me and further increased my desire to learn more. Next step, concurring the deep. This two day course with Donna helped me realize that I can enjoy time in any level of water as long as I have the correct skill set and mental peace. By the end of these sessions, I was able to join my classmates and jump off a diving board into 17 feet of water, vertical bob a bit and then back float back to to the wall. It is clearly apparent that the team at Jim Montgomery are passionate about what they do. Cheryl and Donna go above and beyond, the spotters who helped during class are open and encouraging with their own swim journeys and the facility is top notch. I feel I can only get better with practice and look forward to learning how to better propel myself in the strokes classes with coach Jim.

My daughter does swim team with Jim Montgomery. They are hands on working with the kids on getting their stroke to be the most efficient. Her improvement is amazing for such a short time. She loves it!

My daughter wouldnt even put her face in the water. We tried three different lessons, both group and private, and nothing would work for her. She hated going to swim lessons and it was always a fight to get her to go. After the first class at JMSS she was putting her face in the water, doing bobs, gaining new skills. She moved up a level working just a few weeks. She has great confidence in the water now. I never thought she would become the swimmer she is now! She always attains new skills and is so excited after each class because of what she has accomplished.

This swim school is AWESOME!!! I highly recommend it to everyone who want to have their kids learn swimming techniques correctly. My son was at another swim school and they were not about teaching correct techniques, seeing how my son was starting to be afraid of the water, a friend recommended Jim Montgomery Swim School and my son LOVES IT!!! He’s no longer afraid of the water, he loves coming, he can really swim. I’m so proud of the progress he’s made and the techniques he’s learned. I am no longer afraid of my 6 yr. old being around any body of water because I know for sure he can swim and knows the safety techniques he needs to know to get out of the water should he find himself accidentally in a large body of water and no one is around.

Wonderful swim school, with an excellent focus on safety. Kiddos are super confident in the pool now. The coaches are amazing, all the admin team are so lovely. Everything is very well organized and very professional, and the school is beautifully designed! I travel a good way to get here and wouldn’t think of changing.

Both of my children have shown great progress since starting at the swim school. The coaches are amazing!!!!! My youngest was terrified of the water. The coaches are calm, cool and collected and have lots of experience working with the “difficult” swimmers.

Can’t recommend JMSS enough. My 7 year old has made great gains in her swimming skills since starting four weeks ago. Prior to JMSS, my five year old was terrified of the water, would not get her face wet, and refused to work with any other swim instructors. But here, the instructors have all been so positive, let the kids use goggles, and build upon each little goal accomplished that the kids love each opportunity to practice. They feel so supported . It’s been great!

We had both of our boys in classes here for about a year and a half. We loved the atmosphere but got frustrated that our older son spent over a year at the same level. He was lacking one skill to move to the next level. He is a very proficient swimmer but was unable to do roll overs and doggie digs their way, so he was unable to move to the next level. We eventually gave up and pulled both boys out of classes. Our son does have ADHD but chose JMSS other people we know with kids who had special needs had had a great experience there. We hope ours is just an isolated case.

Our 3 children have all taken lessons here and loved it. The coaches are excellent. There only 4 children max in a lane so it never feels chaotic and each child gets the attention they need. Our children love swimming and are even now on swim team. Highly recommend.

For an adult learner, it was so empowering to learn the skill of floating. Donna is a superb instructor who is not only patient but very encouraging. Highly highly recommend this class for adults too.

This swim school is awesome! From the facility and observation room to the instructors and Jim walking around keeping everyone on track, not that they need it. Both my boys have become great swimmers as a result of the instruction they receive here. They enjoy coming and the 30 minute lessons are just the right amount. They’re flexible as well if you need to reschedule. Highly recommend this swim school!!

We did private and group swim lessons at several other popular Dallas swim schools for several years and switched to Jim Montgomery a couple months. This is by far the most impressive program and my kids are learning rapidly. They love coming here and the instructors are very well trained. Jim is almost always here and available to talk with parents. He is obviously the most qualified swim instructor our kids have ever had. Highly recommend this swim school! Our kids are 3 & 6 and we drive up from the park cities.

They will make sure your child is progressing and will do what it takes so your child can excel in swimming!

Great swim school. The facility itself is clean and well maintained. There are two large pools that are partitioned off for the various classes. Small swimmer to coach ration so the kids get lots of one on one attention. Our kids love going here and always look forward to their lessons. JMSS swim school is fantastic from every angle you look at it. The management team is caring and kind, the teachers are great. The place is clean and well organized. There is a lot of options when it comes to swim lessons (lessons, swim team, private, summer blitz). Making up classes is easy. Price is good. They dont only teach kids not to drown (as in some other swim schools), they teach kids proper technique - competition-level technique. And they have a life guard on duty (unlike in some other swim schools). Weve been going there ever since they opened and we are extremely appreciative and grateful to have them in our neighborhood.

My kids love to come to lessons here. The instructors are knowledgeable and all of them work well with the kids. I like how clean and well kept it is. There is a bone dry, clean waiting room that provides a great view to watch the lessons. Best part is that they’re really learning to swim and making progress.

This is the best swim school for my 10 month old son in Dallas, and we have tried others! Professional, Clean, Friendly and most important Safety driven as the first priority. They take a personal interest in every kid. Class size is small and personal.

My son attended Emler for years and it’s a good school but once he was switched to Jim Montgomery Swim School his swimming exponentially improved in a short period of time. He loves his coach and the classes. I’ve really enjoyed seeing him so enthusiastic about swimming and working on each new skill.

We are having the best experience at Jim Montgomery Swim School! My almost 5 year old daughter has taken swim lessons from other swim schools since she was an infant with little improvement. Since starting lessons at Jim Montgomery Swim School 2 months ago, she has improved leaps and bounds and is now swimming confidently halfway across the pool and has mastered her rollover and back float! The staff and instructors are all super friendly and helpful. We especially love Coach Anthony and Coach Ellis!!

Our kids have been going here for a couple years, and the experience has been terrific. Coaches and staff are dedicated & accommodating, and Jim Montgomery is one of the nicest, down to earth guys around. This school is focused on teaching kids swim fundamentals, stroke by stroke, providing a solid foundation. Kids can also participate in summer swim team, which is laid back and fun, or swim in a more advanced league. All in all, we love this place.

This is not a place I want to take my child to after finding out that all the staff is NOT CPR and AED certified. I dont understand how you are supposed to run a swim school and not all your staff is certified.

My 7yo son loves JMSS. He joined their developmental swim team last year, and hes grown in the sport leaps and bound without any pressure or stress. Hes developing at his own pace on his own terms. Swimming is his happy place, and as a parent, Im grateful that weve found a swim program that allows our son to develop the love of swimming in a safe and nurturing environment.

I started the Fear of Water class for adults this month. I absolutely love it. Prior to the class, I was afraid to put my head under the water and terrified of the thought of doing anything other than standing in less than 3 feet of water. As of this week, Im much more comfortable. I have learned how to breathe in the water and how to float without panicking. I was able to work at my own pace without feeling pressure because others were advancing quicker. The staff is very friendly and the facility is extremely clean. We have three children at JMSS ranging from ages 6 to 9 months and we love it! We previously swam at another swim school and the difference is monumental. The teaching styles and techniques immediately taught are far better than weve ever experienced. My children are learning so much so fast! The staff is knowledgeable, well trained and caters to the need of each swimmer to ensure the best experience and learning situations. The best part is that this is a family business. You swim in the presence of an Olympian on a regular basis. Jims daughter Ellis is amazing as well. I will not take my kids anywhere else to swim. I could not be happier.
