These are pretty good for the outdoor sculptures, and a good sculpture exhibit is one where you can interpret new meaning from multiple sides of it, and some of these do display that quality, including an open-space representation such as the pool, where subtlety is expressed in how the characters are represented. The interior exhibits are great as well, and have their own uniqueness, and the overall walk-through should only take about 30 minutes to an hour to feel complete, and I suggest also checkout out the nearby area. I parked at a meter north of the DMA and walked through Nasher and Crow within about an hour and a half, and touched up on DMA. Nasher isnt free so consider that when planning it.
This rating is based on the staff attitude. I was there this Saturday end of September. Weather was nice and the garden was beautiful, we could have enjoyed it, except Almost every staff member was horribly rude and had an attitude! They ruined it for me. And if you have question of any kind, keep it to yourself because you will get a verbal slap. Never again!
The serene space has some evocative pieces and there is also a theater to watch more about the Nasher Family or a movie with sculptures as the main actors. Nasher Sculture Center has a quaint sculpture garden with beautiful landscaping, and of course, sculptures.
We had a great time at the Nasher sculpture garden!Even though it was raining, it was still a lot of fun. The staff were friendly, security was thorough and we were able to get up close and personal with some really unique pieces we wouldn’t be able to see otherwise.Great exhibits—very thought provoking. Also, great that they have the student discount—we told friends about that who are excited to visit!
There are so many is rude staff at the lower level reminds you to stay 2 ft away from the art. I was standing at 8ft away from the art. Next door art gallery has better stuff to look around.
Great little art museum, water provided free admission is cheap, and first responders get in for free.
Beautiful, elegant, and classy. It is located in the middle of the city. So, you will hear lots of siren noise.
It was very enjoyable. I love the sculptures much more than I thought I would.
The best day to go to Nasher is on the first Satuday of each month. This is when they have their free admission day for the museum. The outside area is very nice with trees, a water feature and sculptures. They had little folding stools you could borrow for free to sit outside. This is also the area where McKinney Boyd HS orchestra Ambassadors played music for a couple hours for visitors to enjoy.
A lovely spot with excellent staff and a wonderful collection. When the cafe reopens, I cannot wait to enjoy a bite in the serene outdoor gallery.
The reason for 3 stars is because basically the entire inside was closed off to set up a new show, but nobody told us that when we first got there and paid. We could have spent our time differently or allocated it differently had we known. The sculpture garden itself was amazing and we had such a nice time enjoying it! They give out clipboards and drawing tools to the kids so they can sketch throughout the museum, which is genius! My 4 year old loved drawing the sculptures and my 18 month old even enjoyed it in spurts! Would love to go back when the inside is set up.
The sculptures are fascinating. Creative artistic expression.
They closed 2 of 3 galleries for the new collection and we did not know that, so it left us only 1 gallery to see! We basically just walked outside in a garden but oh my gosh it smelled awful outside!! Guess what? there is a garbage dumpster right outside of the museum so it makes your visit quite delightful!! Here are all the things you will see in a garden! The only fun we had was the spindle outside of the entrance that u can sit on and have a little ride! Save your money until there is something to see.
It was nice, smaller than I expected. Would have liked to have seen a larger variety as well.
Great family friendly -ish place. Budget friendly too
Only one room was open when I went to the Nasher as they were in the process of installing a large scale exhibition. There were interesting pieces nonetheless and I did receive discounted admission and a free pass to return which was really nice of them! The real gem was the outdoor sculpture garden. Extremely beautiful and peaceful. I easily could have spent hours out there.
In addition to world class art. The garden is the most peaceful areas to relax in downtown Dallas!
Free of cost. Good place for art lovers. A wedding venue and some wonderful art sculpture shows coming up in late September.
Very thrilling!!! Every host was well informed about the various artists...great that they come + talk to you because they may point out something so obvious that I missed it...so I like that I could speak to every single host freely...no judgment just educating people about art....
Had a blast at the Nasher on a beautiful Saturday. Took my 12 yr old and roamed the indoor and outdoor areas. At the desk, they have paper and colors so you can get creative. Adults can sketch as well. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Well be back.
Excellent modern contemporary sculptures from a variety of mediums
Never visited this museum before. Very modern and very cool
Great museum and lots to learn from it. Had outdoor and inside sculpture . They have brought few sculptures from outside but it worth visiting if you have some time in town.
Next to the Dallas Museum, the most appealing part of the center is the outdoor sculptures and the outdoor garden. I enjoyed the water features that really offered a chance to enjoy those sculptures accented by the water features. The indoor exhibits were okay. There is an entrance fee which is priced on the boarder line. The center closes at 5 PM. It would have been nice to see the sculpture garden at night. I saw that on one weekend they stay open late.
A beautiful and spectacular museum for the art of modern sculpture, in the heart of Dallas, Texas.
Loved every second there. Amazing and and artists
Not my kind of art. In all honesty I didnt enjoy it. It was free admission the day we went. I wouldve regreted paying for the visit. Nice outdoors though, thus the second star.
Lovely museum. Its really nice to go in the outside part if weather is permitting. Have super fun events there as well. On the 2st Saturday of the month admission is free and they have activities for the kiddos.
Nasher Sculture Center has a quaint sculpture garden with beautiful landscaping, and of course, sculptures. The serene space has some evocative pieces and there is also a theater to watch more about the Nasher Family or a movie with sculptures as the main actors.
We loved the place, just in the middle of the city, a mix of open space and sculptures. Kids can make draft of the sculptures.
So small also there is an entrance feeGarden is beautiful
I wish I lived closer to this place. Id love to see more exhibits! Glad I stopped in.
Wonderful gem in Dallas, right next to the Dallas Art Museum. Love the modern sculptures of Arp. They even have a couple of Picasso sculptures. Their small gift shop is one of my favorite museum shops.
Great place to visit. Very enjoyable immersive experience.
What I love about this place is that you can come several times a year and youll see something different each time.
We are so grateful for the Nasher familys contributions to Dallas, Texas. I was a regular here until COVID-19. I miss going out on the lawn and admiring all the artwork. There is no better place to hang out on the weekends with family and friends!
Great permanent collection and unique sculpture exhibits. The Nasher is a great place to visit in the Dallas Arts District. Special days such as Nasher Till Midnight and First Saturday (free entry first Saturday of the month) are great community events .
An oasis in the middle of chaotic downtown. Must-see for any sculpture lovers. The summer event Midnight at the Nasher is one of my favorite yearly events.
The Nasher Scultpure Center was a fun place to visit. Both the indoor and outdoor pieces were quite interesting...I really enjoyed the deal that every first Saturday both the Nasher and the Dallas Museum of Art are free...our kids enjoyed it and they seemed to enjoy the Clyde Warren Park and food truck area as well...
Relaxing place to come and walk.
Edit: The Nasher is now resorting to intimidation tactics to try and get me to remove my reviews here and on WeddingWire/TheKnot. Run, dont walk away from this place.Terrible place to get married. Poorly maintained grounds. They claim that heavy rains destroyed the grass, yet, every other place around Dallas had grass, even Klyde Warren Park which is a free public park right next door.Dont pay thousands to get married in a dirty sand pit with filthy fountains. Choose one of the many other beautiful places around Dallas that are capable of maintaining their properties.
The garden is amazing. You can seat outside and have a drink.
Really cool museum with some unique pieces. The garden is really nice too, not something I expected in the middle of downtown Dallas. If you go during the first Saturday of the month, admission is free
I love the Nasher Sculpture Center. The permanent collection is great and the exhibitions are nicely curated. PS - if you get the chance to go to a garden party or midnight party, make sure to go!
Spend a few fours at the Nasher Sculpture Center! Wonderful exhibits and lots of space to view from various angles! Bling Blinky of Texas Shout Out: Experience Art with the great folks here!
Outstanding Museum - Beautiful Garden - Home and Guest to Thought-Provoking, Beautiful, Disturbing, Fascinating Sculptures - Lovely Nasher Cafe by Wolfgang Puck - Free Admission on 3rd Friday Nights & 1st Saturdays - Presently, the stunning special exhibit of Elmgreen & Dragset: Sculptures!!!!!
Small but unique.
Small place which can be covered from start to finish in an hour, even with stopping and scrutinizing each sculpture. Well maintained. Informed staff.
We went here on the first Saturday of the month & the entry was free. Had a good time walking around & learning new ideas. Recommend!
This is a very complete and fluent ever changing exposition.
They have some HENRI MOORE, and a RodanAbsolutely beautiful place, well beyond 5 STARS
Very well done. Garden is beautiful at the museum
Had a fun time exploring the sculpture center with the family. They even have great little blankets you can borrow with toys for the kids. Also a nice bonus is the delicious restaurant they have which serves modern American cuisine that’ll satisfy your inner foodie. Check it out!
Always a great place to visit. Till Mid-Night at the Nasher is the best.
Amazing place, the garden was inspiring in so many ways
I was visiting Dallas and looking for a quick relaxing activity, its a perfect choice if you have an hour to wasteThey dont have a lot of pieces, but what they have are unique and interesting.More can be done in the open back yardThe shop has a nice diversity of souvenirs and gifts
Nice date night.
The chair out front is fun and the outdoor sculptures were interesting but some of the pieces inside lacked creativity. I don’t think two jeans on the floor qualifies as art.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Most of the museum felt like the emperor is naked art. A few pieces were worth the visit.
Even though the place is small, your money is worth it. I saw a lot of artworks and I really enjoyed it. I will definitely visit again.
The Nasher Sculpture Center exhibits exquisite sculpture collections. I am never disappointed.
Great experience for kids and adults alike. Beautiful courtyard where events are held, including nighttime events.
Beautiful garden in downtown Dallas. Very surprising.
Im still not sure about modern art. Two pairs of Jeans and undies below stairs. But there are some amazing pieces. The garden exhibits were good
Staff was impolite with our children. Asked us to stay on the path in an exhibit, even though we were clearly on the path and not touching the art. Called us out specifically among those around an exhibit and asked us to keep at least 2 feet away from the exhibit (we werent touching anything). I know that children can be excited and exuberant, but anyone who is respecting exhibits and doing as they should, ought not to be reprimanded.
Such a lovely park. The workers were very knowledgeable about the exhibits. Very relaxing
Enjoyed what was available to view. Was hoping that there would have been a larger selection of exhibits to view however. Probably a one time visit for me.
My special recommendation is to enjoy this place on a beautiful day and spend some time in the backyard with some of the greatest masterpieces of sculptures in the world.
With a kind and knowledgeable staff, Nasher never disappoints in expressing three dimensional art and culture to the Dallas community. After touring inside, the garden extends invitation to saunter under shade and explore its layers. The sculpture center offers occasional free admission and family crafting activities. Inspiring...and so much fun!
Just fantastic!
Nice sculpture place with many artistic exhibitions ongoing. Their backyard is magnificent.
Absolutely loved the sculptures, the art, and the garden. I just wish there was more to see..but thats just me
Thoroughly enjoyed my time here, as others have noted, this garden is kind of small, but it works! This exhibit is in my opinion better if you have time to sit and soak it all in.
Nasher Sculpture Center is a must visit place in Dallas! The garden is lovely with great sculptures and admirable collections. The inside is also exceptional, it has 2 floors and they have set up a movie in a room about the history of the Nasher Sculpture Center. It is a little bit pricey here but definitely worth it. An alternative is to go here during special days to get discounted admission fee. All in all, the place is beautiful and amazing, I would love visit again.
Recently brought the family for the First Saturday event. Free admission is always a draw for me. The museum was full of kid friendly tours, craft activities, a photo booth, and D.J. we had a blast. The staff were helpful and friendly, encouraging the kids to go with their artistic flow. Secondary bonus, we got to see an amazing exhibit. Tertiary bonus, my husband and I completed surveys at the end about our experience and earned 4 free admission passes that never expire and have no black out dates!
Really neat place! So much to see, everytime I go, I like it better than the time before. Check out Midnight at the Nasher, on the 3rd Friday of the month for Free Admission *during certain months of the year*
The sculpture garden was so beautiful and peaceful! Definitely visiting again!
Although we did not care for the Sterling Ruby sculptures on display, the art certainly inspired conversation. The small museum is well designed and the art was displayed very well. It looks like its a fun stop for families as they had family games to make the art sharing more enjoyable for the little ones. The location is right next to the Dallas Museum of Art and it makes a lovely addition to an artful day.
A beautiful museum- we enjoyed exploring with our kids!
Amazing sculptures and the art that is only display WOW!! Exquisite!! Just fabulous!!
Nasher has beautiful sculptures outside, and nice art inside also. The gift shop is especially interesting, some good finds there. In addition, they have this cart with very clever items we got to borrow including a blanket to sit on outside, crayons and a drawing pad, a Braille book (!!!) explaining the exhibits, flash card sort of things which also told about what we were seeing, and other clever and fun items. Oh! They also have a knowledgeable person walking around striking up conversations about the art with the guests. Great idea, Nasher Center people! This definitely enhanced our visit. AND, you can walk right over to the DMA from Nasher. Very handy indeed.
Great place too visit, and a good place to do business with.the folks there are wonderful. I would love to do more business with them. And more business in that area.
This was a great unexpected experience to my visit in Dallas. I especially enjoyed the outdoor sculpture garden.
Completely wonderful collection. Only wish I had more time to spend here.
This is what ya do... swoop up your entire crew ride downtown, park anywhere, and then grab a scooter for everyone. Ride the streets and make sure to stop at the sculpture museum its the type of place one should be on a chill vibe. Get in the zone. Make sure to swing into the shop to see whats happenin, they will be happy to see ya. Hop on ya electo and wheel on out to see what else the 214 got in store...
You have to go see it yourself! Theres really nice souvenir shop by the museum that sells unique stuff.
The Nasher is often overlooked with the DMA and Perot nearby, but should not be forgotten! This is a wonderful museum with numerous programs throughout the year. Check out a Til Midnight at the Nasher for a fun and free event.
Beautiful venue for weddings and rehearsal dinners, the art is a wonderful talking piece amongst guests of an event or the museum itself. The Nashers take on modern art and the tasteful ways they are displayed are exquisite. Theres no pieces of art that can be mistaken for a piece of garbage such as on the west coast. This is an upscale, real modern art museum.
If you love art and are very liberal in the description of the word art you may love this place. Not the greatest if you have young children along as they are not allowed to run, not even in the grass.
Beautiful artwork, peaceful, and somewhat small and intimate. Staff was very friendly.
Theyve got some very interesting sculptures
Nice small museum. The museum staff are helpful and did not seem to tire as we asked questions.

A truly wonderful place. Very thrilling!
I always love coming here.
Loved the genesis story of the museum, docent was pleasant and let our large homeschool group wander & explore. Our fav. Were the outdoor pieces.
Beautiful place.
