Love the new playground! Interactive and great for young children.

Paid $40.00 for a Christmas at the Monastery to decorate in honor of our Parents that have passed we get there and there is no tree for us and there was no sign with our parents info. The worst set up ever we are demanding a refund, one guy in charge was so rude to us we had to walk away so sad people have to be so rude to others when they did nothing wrong.

A beautiful place to go to relax. Im not from Cumberland, so l only know this wonderful place as a visitor to its exterior grounds. The Monastery is a great place to visit to enjoy the nice weather, relax and explore its trails and paths.

Hiking, library and playground!Hiking paths are not the best marked but are really nice. My kids loved it from first visit.

Nice hiking trails. Ive been on every one of them either hiking or biking. Along some of the trails youll find granite crosses, stones and parts of buildings which is pretty cool. One trail will take you out to a great view from a higher elevation. On the last day I was there part of one trail was washed out by heavy rains during the week so I couldnt do the loop walk around the pond.

Beautiful trails through the woods. Tons of different ones from super easy wide, gravel trails to narrow, rocky paths. Whatever you like and however you feel, theres a nice path to follow. Serene and still so close to everything. My dog and I love this place!

Great trail to walk on. Walked during the summer and there were a ton of mosquitoes.

Great place to unwind and relax. Lots of different trails for walking. Playground area for the kids. The library is right there. One of my favorite spots to take the dog on a long adventure to relax or allow him to get his energy out. Beautiful and relaxing place to visit for sure.

Nice playground- fenced in with settings, a sandbox, and climbing structures. Great for littles up to age 7/8. Havent tried the trails yet but will when it gets warmer and my toddler gets older.

We love this place for the nature trails. We have seen, shrews, turkeys, rabbits, snake and a turtle laying eggs.

Very scenic, has a good selection of trails for walking a dog or going for a jog on your own. All trails lead back a central location, so no worries about getting lost. Close proximity to gas station, highway and convenience store.

The Monastery houses the Cumberland Public Library, which offers tons of free activities for families to participate in (check out their website for the activities schedule). Staff members are friendly and the facility is very clean. The grounds has a good sized playground with fun things for kids of all ages and abilities to enjoy, and there are several walking paths in the woods to explore. Its a great place to visit!

I love the Monastery. Its so peaceful, with so many trail options to explore for a walk, run, or dog outing. You can find some old ruins, a quarry, an incredible view of Providence, a beaver dammed swamp, a quiet pine grove, and some other surprises.

Enjoyed a picnic lunch with my great nephew, Konnor. The grounds are beautiful.

This Park shares the same parking lot as the Cumberland Public Library and is great hike with most paths leading to the same main loop so getting lost is highly unlikely.

Been coming here since I was a little kid! A treasure of Rhode Island. Has a vast array of trails to explore, a rich (and sometimes haunting) history, plentiful parking, gardens, senior center, library, gazebo, fields, and a playground. Excellent .

Original building houses the town library, preschool, center for youth, and bookstore. The grounds have marked hiking trails which include historical landmarks. Perfect for a leisurely stroll with kids or dogs.

Very nice place to walk for a couple of hours. My puppy loved it . Only problem was people dont clean up after there dogs, if they do they leave the bag behind but thats everywhere lately. Alot of history there

Great place for anything outdoors. We walk are dogs here, run and workout, take pictures, mountain bike, hike, etc. Trail has pull up bars, push up stations, sit-up/ab workout stations, stretching stations. Not to mention it has a library, garden, gazebo, and playground. I feel spoiled to live so close to it.

Beautiful grounds and history! A nice place to take your dog for a walk, or bring kids to play in fenced in playground! Love it here!

The Monastery is a wonderful place that has so much to offer. My children love it there. We usually hit the playground first then we visit the library after. Once in a while we hit the walking trail too. One of the many hidden gems in Cumberland. My familt highly recommends The Monastery!

Nice walking path with lots of trails! This is NOT for bikes, motorized vehicles or horses per the town of Cumberland. Unfortunately weve been seeing an increase of bicycles which ruins the walking path.

Went to the library here. They have a wonderful play area for little ones inside and outside. Was able to bring a picnic lunch during nice weather. Library is built on the old site of the original Monastery and is listed in a book of paranormal activity. I have yet to experience any but will update when I do.

I love the Monastery! I really do! I was quite upset to see the bridge gone from one of the trails. The Beavers do their thing and now water is backed up and the only way across the overflow of water now are some unsteady sticks. What a shame! What happened here?!

I loved the little playground when my kids were younger. Always a good time. Safe from the road and shaded too.The walking trails are very pleasant. I hope to try them for snow-shoeing one day.No complaints!Very tranquil. Library has bike rack.March 2017 - looks like the little playground is getting new equipment in time for spring, maybe. Workers were there the other day with lots of shiny parts that looked like new playground parts.June 207 - The playground has new climbing toys for the age 2-5 crowd. It also has swings large enough for big kids and adults. It has lots of baby-bucket swings.

Great place to go for a walk and smoke a Doobie. Use to be a great keg party spot 20 years ago. Probably still is but doesnt look like anyone does anymore.

Nice hiking trails but no clear markers to show where you are heading... Had to turn around and backtrack as we felt the trail we were taking wasnt leading back to the park we started at... Maybe it did and maybe it didnt... We didnt have the time to find out if it turned Out not to be heading that way... But if you have time its a lovely walk..

The hiking grounds are nice. There are a number of dogs. They dont always get along with each other. The grounds themselves look much nicer in pictures.I do think the playground, though, is great for little kids. My 2 1/2 year old thought it was great!

Acre after acre for mya to run and be as happy as she can be! MOST people are so friendly. AMAZING views and history to see. Summer bugs are the VERY WORST part but what can you do? I am soooooo grateful for such a beautiful place for my mya to run and explore. I should also mention that the staff of workers on the grounds are so friendly!! They smile and wave as they drive by and if out of their truck they always make time to say hello to mya who LOVES the attention. THANK YOU!!

Been visiting here my whole life ever since i was a little kid .. they used to have day camp here when i was young ...as a teenager i trooped this whole place on foot mostly or on a bicycle .. also use to visit the library often ... so much space for exploring there is a lot of history in those old woods

One of my favorite places in all of Cumberland to just go to and relax. The grounds are beautiful, the library is haunted, and hello, you cant go wrong with being surrounded by that many books and that much forest. Love it.

Beautiful as far as scenery, but the trails need lot of work. We had to negotiate LARGE, DEEP puddles and actually walk through briers in order to continue.

Great playground. lots of structures to play on and enough swings. small play stage where Im sure countless shows have been put on my little ones. It gets a little buggy so bring bug spray. There is also a loop trail with a nice clear path.

Beautiful well marked trails. Take the track behind the senior center to find 9 mens misery, thought to be the oldest war memorial in the country.

This place is a gem in the southern part of Cumberland. There are walking trails, the Cumberland Library, Senior Center, and many places to walk your dog, picnic on tables or on the grass, and explore the vast woods. If you are interested in history, stop by the library and ask about Nine Men’s Misery, which is on the property as well. Don’t forget to ask for a map of the walking trails!

I went to the Cumberland library to get a document notarized. He was super cool and helpfull.
