This is a quaint museum. Does not take long to get through however there us a lot if information about the mountains history. I saw a old picture of heart rock up on the wall. It was cool because I had just hiked it for the first time. Neat to think that it has been hiked to for so long. There is a gift shop. The people are really nice and knowledgeable. Definitely check it out.

We chose this place because it had solid reviews. On the phone, the manager was friendly and helpful but things changed when we got there. Maybe he was having a bad day but it affected our trip for the worse.TL;DR this place smelled bad and the manager is a jerk who held onto our deposit for weeks. The manager showed us to our cabin (Arrowhead). Upon entering the cabin, I noticed a slight smell. It was a little nasty but I figured it was subtle enough to get used to and it was late on a Saturday so we didnt feel like trying to argue with the guy for a cancellation. He asked if we wanted the wifi password and we said sure (thinking we might watch something on Netflix later). Speaking to us like children, he treated it like a riddle rather than writing it down like everyone else does. This little game was kind of annoying; Im sure its his normal schtick but it was delivered with an unusual amount of attitude. It would have been no big deal except that when we logged on finally there was no internet. It was around this point that we opened the bathroom door and smelled the worst mildew Ive ever encountered. We had to keep the door closed and hold our noses while in there. The guy had mentioned that the wifi had been down for hours earlier so I went to the office to tell him the wifi wasnt working again. He didnt believe me or simply didnt care. He said his son was using the wifi in the next room. After I pressed, he admitted his son was on another wifi network. So then I asked where the wifi router for our cabin was.Right here he said, gesturing behind him.So the wifi router for our cabin is 50 feet away with a few thick walls between?Yeah, SO?I finally got a weak signal on my phone while standing less than 5 feet from the actual router. Tired of arguing, I started to leave but not before asking for some deodorizer for our stinky bathroom. He said that he didnt have any... the maid might but she wasnt there. Very helpful.Back in Mildew Cabin, the wifi still wasnt working. Were old enough to know that some battles just end up not being worth the time and emotions wasted so we decided to just go to dinner and chalk this up as a loss. I really have no idea where the attitude came from or why he wouldnt bother to check if the wifi was working in our cabin or address the smell I complained about. I know customer service can be challenging but curmudgeons should probably stay out of this line of work.(I would have submitted this two weeks ago after we got back but he didnt give us our deposit back for two weeks because they were on vacation.)

Crestline is a relaxing town to get away from the day to day stress and just enjoy the great outdoors. These cabins were amazing. From a kitchen to a fridge and microwave, there is nothing I wouldve enjoyed more, except more time. These cabins are not far from Heart Rock, which is absolutely stunning, and you dont have the noise from other vacationers because quiet time is 10pm. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! The cabins even have an area for the kids to play and a small rustic wedding area. If you really wanted to you could rent out all cabins for the wedding attendees, so long as you dont know like 100 people. Who knows that many people? Anyways, the stay was absolutely amazing and I would recommend anyone trying to just relax to head up to Crestline. Also, jus a few miles down is a new place called Escape Lake Gregory...awesome! We had so much fun last weekend.

We came here to get away in hopes of a white Christmas. But there was no snow on the mountain. However the cabin we stayed in was number three Big Bear cabin and it was beyond our expectations. The couch comfortably sat 6 of us and three of us are not so little. The pictures dont do it justice. The Green carpet is no more that has new carpeting its a nice color nice pattern. Theres a breakfast nook to eat in in the kitchen, a table to play cards at, as well as a dinner table that seats 6. The oven worked great and the fridge is huge. I personally brought my own utensils and cups and whatnot however they do have it fully stocked. Ive seen reviews about the owner being an asshat clearly not the case. All he expects you to do is follow the rules that is it. Dont lie about how many people are there, dont make noise after the curfew, and dont smoke in the cabins. You can handle all three of those things its a very pleasant stay. Less than a mile away is a bowling alley a McDonalds a Subway and some grocery stores. Less than a half a mile away as a liquor store. Its an amazing getaway spot and has an adorable playground.

Caretaker is very nice an hotel is close to town. John Wayne Cabin Bedroom was way too small, stuffy & bed very uncomfortable. Bed is pushed up against wall. Ceiling fan id not work in bedroom. Bathroom is super tiny an shower was laughably small. We did not sleep well an ended up leaving early in the morning to go home and shower and get some rest. Would not recommend this hotel. This place while historic needs some serious improvements towards guest comforts.

We had an amazing time up here, no complaints whatsoever. We stayed in the crestline cabin #12 I think?...with private parking and kind of away from the other units. It was a perfect like cabin that easily fit our family of 5. The only issue we ran into was theres no door separating the kids in the living room from us in the bedroom so adult fun was a little challenging lol. We would definitely come back and stay again though.

We reserved 3 cabins for our wedding guests. Cabins were very nicely decorated and clean. Our guests raved about the cabins, pool and play areas. The also commented on how nice and helpful Aaron was in making them feel comfortable.
