One of the greatest remnant and restored prairies I have seen. Knowing the little I do about Prairie loss and rehabilitation, I hope more projects like this become a reality. Truly a gem of this area!

Be strong when going here, hills medium steep paths maybe 35 degrees in pitch. Pond and small lake, and feilds of grass decent wind right now in the end of April. Very calming with a vast view of the valley in which omaha and the river are in the center

Great for hiking and enjoying nature. Preserve should buy the one lone house that sits next to the Preserve to enlarge it.

Wonderful prairie preserve in Iowas remarkable Loess Hills! Formerly a homesite, then a borrow pit for dirt used in nearby industrial sites. Purchased by The Nature Conservancy (?) & now preserved for future generations. Many acres to hike (no motor vehicles allowed), birdwatch, view native wildlife & vegetation, and generally enjoy the outdoors.
