This is David with the 70s band. We just played a benefit concert in one of the warehouses promise for paws which raises money to place hard to place an elderly dogs. The staff there were extremely kind and very accommodating we had a great time thank you so much for having us! Looking forward to next time well play outside when the weathers warmer in the amphitheater itself.
Westfair in iowa, has scheduled gun shows on different months of the year theyre to me the best and closet gun show and its not just guns they have vendors that sell other very interesting products they also have pretty good grilled food people are very polite and extremely friendly I go with friends and family always a good time
I would have given the show 5 stars. However nobody had masks on or social distancing. There are defiantly some good buys to be made.
Great people great variety of firearms on display an the burgers in the kitchen thick homemade. Outstanding
Huge unused parking lot. Would have been great for my handicapped son
Visited for a demo derby. These guys put on a great show
Great pull, wish concessions would have stayed open longer.
Easy in and out. Great location.
Love it there great place
A good place for concerts, gatherings, and gun shows.
They were having a gun show.ots of tables and not all guns
Have seen 3 concerts at the venue and it has excellent sound quality. Plenty of areas to sit and still see the show.
If you’re keen on outdoor country shows and demo derby’s
Enjoyed seeing the guns.
Tractor pulls were amazing
We went to see Marilyn Madison and Rob Zombie. Great open air venue once you arrive, go through a long security line, one for women, one for men and then go though another line to get your wristband to drink with one person checking your ID. Seemed understaffed. Long lines for everything including beer, food, ATM etc.. The traffic to get to Westfair off I-80 was a nightmare. We were in bumper to bumper traffic for 1.9 miles for at least an hour and a half. I heard it was worse for others that got directed to the far south entrance. The wait was longer. I dont plan on going back to that venue. I like Harrahs Stir cove. At least you know what to expect. Also, their designated smoking area was a joke. People were smoking everywhere. I felt like I was at an indoor venue. At times, it was hard to breathe since you were inhaling so much smoke and weed. The venue was not lacking in security staff. There were plenty of people in that department to keep the peace.
Nice dirt track!!
Nice large place for concerts and event. Plenty or free parking in the grass. While I was there, I noticed there were many people that were hopping the fence with no issues. So you can pay for a ticket or hop the fence, I guess.
Horrible concert experience. They are not prepared or organized. Waited in traffic 2 hours to get from Mall of Bluffs into Westfair. Upon getting there, concert rules were changed from what was posted online. No purses were allowed in. Lines to get into the concert were terrible, as were lines for the drinks and bathrooms. Not enough staff, not enough facilities. It was one big wait fest. Will never do it again.
Great venue for concerts. Traffic gets a little much at times for big events but all worth it
Ample parking and clean.
Great experiences for kids and a way for 4H to show what theyve learned.Friendly competition to compete for trophies, ribbons, and prizes for 4H kids to show off their feathered friends, and other farm animals. Dog show doing costumes, obedience, obstacle, as well as other competitions. Many events for kids not mentioned.Had amusement rides and games.Arena had tractor pulls, and other motor sports.Carnival food - was made to try a Fat Albert, ribbon fries, and a blueberry lemonade lolExhibits, auctions on apple pie and the bucket of junk competition for 4H... many things I do not know...
Best gun show Ive gone to in a long time! Seigh Guns had the best table there! Ended up having to pick up 2!
My visit to Westfair Amphitheatre, is a experience has and for all eternity will be a special Memorable Night within me. My sister and I was there for An Iowa Event sponsored by FM radio station... 89.7 the River: River Riot May 10, 2019
Rough rough experience this time around. I love the bands 100% amazing that we are provided with the opertunity to see amazing bands out this way. There must be an easier smarter way to control traffic. I more than understand getting people to work and there are so many things you cant control, but being prepared for anything is key.And the change of rules on purses is huge as well. If a band wants a policy a particular way, it should be stated right off the bat as the concert is announced.I am greatful for the hard work everyone put into making this happen. There is just need for improvement.
Parking, bathroom situation, lack of organization has been terrible. Doubt Ill ever be back as the problems have only intensified over the years.
Weather cooperative, plenty of Restrooms. Variety of foods. Plenty shady places. This was an informative Renaissance festival, they took the time to explain and even try hands on. Love. Love, Love the roaming fairies. Wear sturdy shoes, Cold drinks were within budget.
There are events that go super smooth here, and then the next event makes you question why you even decided to attend a concert here again. Parking is generally a chore, vendor selection definitely varies, but the good events are worth the issues.
Wow. Great place for an outside concert. Great viewing area. Sound was good.
So enjoyed Blue October! Funnel cake was AMAZING! Best thing of all is they got bigger porta potties instead of the broom closets with a urinal in ones face they used to have and moved them so they can have more. 89.7, you rock! Thanks for choosing me as one of the Best Moms in the Metro and sending my husband and I to Blue October which happened to be our anniversary weekend! Great place, great music!
Saw Rob Zombie great show props to the security team for keeping us safe
One of the only outdoor amphitheatre venues in the area. Parking is on grass areas. Food is all food trucks and pricey.
The venue is nice. The parking, traffic management, event staff are all a joke. The minimal forethought put into a show is very obvious.
Parking was way better this year than in previous years. This place still needs to be updated. The stage looks so old
The event I went to was in two separate buildings. Neither of them was heated. I have attended other shows here and was not disappointed, but I was this time.
The usual bunch of nice people and a nice setting. Sometimes can be pretty hot inside the buildings, but was great today
The actual venue to watch a concert is good. All around good views and sound. The parking situation is atrocious. The state troopers did a poor job at best of controlling traffic. It took over two hours to get out of the parking lot and onto a paved road. Not a single traffic control person for an entire field of parked cars, just a free for all. In regards to the concert event just put on 5/11/18 by 89.7 the River, this was by far the WORST planned concert ever. 30 minutes to gate opening a Tweet is sent out that the gates will not open at 1:00pm but instead at 2:00pm. NOT, they never opened the gates until after 3:30pm. Not a single explanation. They cancelled a local band to try to stay on schedule. Their failure to communicate is just unacceptable, especially with social media outlets available. I am probably being a little generous as I was 10th in line at the gate nest to port-a-potties. I really feel bad for those others farther back in line.
Worst venue ever!!! Total waste of money! I drove 4 hrs to stand/park in line. Getting in was a nightmare! 2hrs just to go 5 miles. Entry gate was a nightmare! Not enough security to do female pat downs. Couldnt take anything inside gates. Opening band was a no show. Rest of bands were awful! Definitely wish I had my time and money back. Wasted a whole 2 days of work! Never again
Ive been going here since I was 16 years old and I still get just as excited walking through the gates as I did when I was young. Its the best venue around for good day-longers!
Nice set up for concerts but staff and parking are horrible. Closed the restrooms early and made everyone go to their cars only to sit for an hr before you can move your car. Need a better exit route.
Gun show it was sweet plenty of guns and ammo with silver bullion currency and coins to top it off A+++
We went there for inflatable race. It was a very well organized event
Every event is so much fun. My favorite is the fair.
We went to River Riot, and it was amazing! But, the food selections were poor and the food expensive. Just for a double cheeseburger, it was $15 each. For 4 fried Oreos, it was $6. The restaurant staff werent very informative and sort of rude. The concerts were amazing, but it sounded like they were having sound difficulties, which made it hard to hear the artists. I heard about every other word. Also, the smoke was unbearable. No matter where you went, there was cigarettes, Vapes or weed. It smelled disgusting and made it hard for my sister and I to breathe, as we are non-smokers. When we arrived, the main event parking lot was full, so we had to blindly look for the second parking lot. In order to park, we had to go up a steep hill and go up another hill. We parked, got out and started heading for the entrance, only to find out we had to go ALL the way around. There were no signs and no one told us before we got to the entrance, we had to go around. Once there, we were told we couldnt bring in aresol cans of sunscreen or bug spray, so we had to throw them away, and in the process get a wicked sunburn. I wish they would have told us that before we packed them. I looked on the river riot website, and there was nothing there. It was ridiculous. So, my experience was alright. Wish it would have been better, considering all of the costs.
Venue and staff were a joke. VIP was worthless, and staff didn’t know what was going on. I recommended to avoid this venue.
Westfair is the “Go To” outdoor concert venue nestled around Iowa farms. LIVE THE VIBE THERE. Whether it’s day or night, Westfair has a special feeling for the concert goer. You should never miss an opportunity to attend a concert at Westfair; it’s magic. This venue is run by a professional board of director that are generally kind people.
Great place for a concert the way the area is laied out makes it easy to see the band playing
It was gun show weekend at westfair. First time Ive gone. Allot of dealers. Very well done.
Went to a concert last night and had issues. Concert awesome organization that was running it security wise was rude and seemed like a bike group. Biggest complaint when a concerts over don’t close the bathrooms and then make people wait 50 mins in traffic to get to one . It makes people dislike your venue from what a otherwise fun nite. They where rude and set us up for failure.
Always disorganized and shows typically start 2 to 3 hours late. Do not go off of their regulations posted on the website. They will not let you bring in purses/bags bigger than your hand.
1 entry point for that many people? If I dont do my job well i would get fired. Some one needs to find a new job! We traveled 4 hours to this concert and stood in line to get through the gates almost 3 hours! How dumb. Great concert and great drink prices, just smarten up on getting people in the gate so they dont miss bands they paid good money for!
Awesome venue. Sounds great. Not a bad seat anywhere. The 15 and 30 dollar cheeseburgers were a bit of a downer though...
Derby was much better this year and very fun as always.
The area the show was in was great! But trying to get in and out of the parking lot was a joke, wont be back just because of parking!
Great place for a concert. Rocked with marilyn Manson and rob zombie
I want you to go to the Rob Zombie concert Westbury I never made it and the people there run me around a little bit before I got a hold of somebody who gave me the right information on what I can bring into the park where I couldnt and it raining that day and Im not going cuz I didnt have a ride but thank you for all your help
Was a beautiful day and show even though Manson was a baby
Great show last night with Rob Zombie
River riot was great. The security was on top of things and the ticket takers were quick
Had a good time at River Riot! Cant wait to go again!!
Security is a little much but still a good place
Ive only been there for concerts and I enjoyed every one.
Great spring concert location. However if you are interested in the headline act, be ready to take 1 1/2 getting out of the venue, or leave halfway through the last act, & it will take 45 min. No chairs, backpacks, cameras, bottles, purses, or food allowed.
Another great animal swap in the books!
A great venue for families! No facilities for the handicapped, though.
Just like I remember it. Home show was a nice on albeit very small.
This is a really good fair with friendly workers. For the area, it is well kept up and the track stands are cleaned just about as much as someone could ask them to be.
Great people. Fun carnival
Super fun place nice outside lots of room to roam around very cool VIP area love same Blue October lots of places to use the restroom which was very appreciated and my only complaint is takes forever to get out because theres only one way in and one way out they need to change that of course its in the middle of a cornfield you cant ask more
Came here for rock fest a couple years in a row, same thing different bands. The place can get very crowded and obviously loud. It was always packed when I came with my family. Id suggest bring a small thing blanket to sit on and water bottle caps in your pocket because theyll make you throw your top away. Also definitely check the weather before you go because you may need sunscreen or warmer clothes. Once it rained the night before and the whole hill was a mud fest. I definitely dont suggest little little kids when coming to a rock show because some people get kinda crazy. They had beer stands, atms, bathrooms and portapottys, funnel cakes, snow cones, burgers and bunch more at a price. Usually had a good time and enjoyed the energy and music
Great site for the fair and tractor pulls.
I really appreciated the amount of security by the sheriffs department. They were cool and wanted us to have a great time. Thanks! Venue fantastic!
Beautifully cared for outdoor area with plenty of room for large crowds. Terrible entrance and exit delays.
Definitely a nice place excellent for outdoor shows
Westfair is always a good time! There is always a plethora of attractions - including gun shows, fairs, and concerts.
We went for the figure 8 races. Very well run. A lot of competitive cars.
Getting in and out can be worse than a 7 year olds nightmare. Go early to get decent parking or do not even try. The backup of cars was incredible.
Wonderful outdoor venue. They need more variety in food options. I ended up eating snow cones for 6 hours then getting dinner at a gas station nefore heading home. Be warned thede is not a lot of shade to be had, so wear plenty of sunscreen.
Excellent location for a variety of venues.
Absolute worst organized venue I’ve ever attended. My first & last visit ever was today. How do you advertise an event for months & not be prepared the day of? Not only was there an official delay of gate opening, but our group was physically at the venue at 1:45 (which was still before well over half of the other attendees) yet we were not in the gate until after 5 pm. They canceled two bands & One of the bands we actually were excited for, Shamen’s Harvest, played their entire set before we could get in. The management in charge of this event & venue should be fired immediately & a public acknowledgement & apology should be made. If I could rate lower I would without hesitation.
ROB ZOMBIE OUT ON AN AMAZING SHOW!!!!!
Great little fair. Well attended even for a Wednesday. Very family oriented.
