The very best movie theater in Marin on a hot summer night - vast, spacious - huge and wonderful! Not bad in the winter either.Great First run films
Great old school theater to watch a movie in. We need to support these neighborhood theaters. Will definitely come back here.
Clean theater and bathroom, very friendly staff, popcorn is fresh and hot. The screen is very large, which is great.
Is this the BEST movie theater in Marin? Yes, it is!!! It is best place to see a movie because its Marins largest screen and it has a terrific Dolby sound system.Seats are okay and the cleanliness is, so-so, but the staff are really friendly.Sadly, it may be closed sometime in the near future to make way for apartments. Large movie theaters like this are now archaic and considered a waste of space. I say, support our film industry and specifically theaters like Century Cinema. Go see your movies here Go buy your popcorn here and if you like them buy some bon bons. But mostly, support the theaters or you will only have Netflix, Amazon and other streaming services to choose from.
This is a big, one screen theater. The theater itself is clean and the screen is beautiful. The sound system isnt as advanced as other nearby options. The concession area is small and can get backed up on a busy night. But I still enjoy the huge theater for a summer popcorn movie.
Good large theater for first-run features.
Big Screen- Awesome... Sound- Fantastic! Seats not so good, but had a great time bcoz it was Star Wars!
Spacious, kind staff, and showing great movies through out the day.
I love the fact we have a theatre in Corte Madera that shows top rated movies. The seats are comfortable and the theater is clean.
Great one screen theater, staff is welcoming, and fun experience!
Nice theatre easy access and parking. Coffee is brewed individually.
It is always a treat to attend a movie in a true movie theater. No center isle means one can find the center nofmthe screen.
Big boi theater. Good sound, would recommend
Would recommend. Employee Devon helped accommodate my autistic son. Give him a raise!!!!
I love going to the theater by star rating manager pause a great guy.
I have been going to this theater since it first opened many years ago.I have seen it through good days and bad.I am pleased to say that the major remodel of the auditoriums is a huge plus. The new leather recliners are extremely comfortable and add to the movie going experience. The only negative is the overall number of seats in each auditorium has been greatly reduced. So, if it is opening weekend for a popular movie, the chances of movies selling out are much higher.Another new change is reserved seating. You choose your seat when you buy your tickets, either online or at the box office. The only time that they enforce assigned seating is when demand requires it.Opening weekend, assigned seating is enforced.A mid-week matinee when the theater is only about 1/4 full, sit where you like.In early 2018, they will finish the remodel of the theater. The concessions area is getting a facelift and a bar is being installed.
For biggle theater, its still fun to go sit and enjoy I single movie in a huge environment. They dont make a like this anymore
Best theater in Marin. Awesome sound system, fantastic screen. Every seat in the house is great. Plenty of foot room. Comfy seats. Pleasant & professional staff.
Last of the single screen theaters, the decor may be a little bit dated, but I love this theater. The seats are comfortable and the screen is huge. I wish they had hotdogs, but otherwise the concessions are fine.
This is the big, Big, BIG screen, great for action movies. The best in fact. There arent many of these roundish, single screen theaters left. Rumor has it that George Lucas likes to see his movies on this huge screen and subsidises the theater to keep it open. If so, thanks, George.
Very nice. Old but clean and well kept. Nice to sit in a big theatre.
Has been the best theater to see a movie in Marin at for at least 40 years. Best screen, best seats, best trained staff. Seeing a movie here, and then seeing the same movie on any other screen in Marin really shows you just how great this particular theater is.
One of the best movie experiences in Marin. Enormous screen, comfortable seats. Hope it never goes away.
Wasnt 5 stories the way i expected based on the excessive reviews claiming that it was a big, Big, BIG screen. Also i hated the commercials-_-
Great people. Best theatre in Marin. One of the very few one-screen giant theatres left. Enjoy it while you can.
This is the largest movie theater in Marin county that I’m aware of. If you’re seeing a movie that could benefit a big screen, this is the preferred theater to see it. Such as good for viewing of Star Wars, Avengers or movies like Arrival or Gravity. It has good sound system and great film projector. I think the projectionist only need to control one projector here, I have never had a problem with the projectionist making mistakes while playing 4-7 movies in a multiplex theaters near by.It was announced to be closed and the theater/land is sold to a developer to build condominium or shopping complex, but do not know what they will officially close down.I know that Mill Valley film festival shows their high demand festival screening here.People were suspecting that George Lucas who appreciates an old time experience of going to movies has been financially supporting this theater to stay in business even though it may have not making any profit showing movies here by century theater.
Love this theater. It is one of the last remaining large theaters.
Clean theaters and great staff!
Greatly helpful staff, great audio, screen, and feel.
I love this theater and miss it terribly because Ive moved away! The seats are comfortable and the sound is state of the art. It brings back lots of memories from my youth growing up in Marin. Pick a seat in the middle, just back of the middle speakers on the wall to your right and your left. The speakers behind you will give you the surround sound effect and the speakers in front and the middle will put you right in the center of the action! Highly recommend it! sit back and enjoy! popcorn is good too!
Great place to go see a movie. If youre looking for five star restaurant service you wont find it. Its somewhat old fashioned and I love it for what it is.
My favorite Marin theater. Huge screen, superior extra-clear surround sound system, comfortable seats, excellent friendly staff, fresh tasty popcorn. Lots of free parking right at the theater. Early bird first matinee $7.50 tickets. Very clean restrooms. Super convenient location right off Highway 101, one block from Book Passage, which is really nice if you get there a little early, as we did yesterday to see Sully, which is well worth seeing. Tom Hanks directed by Clint Eastwood. How could you go wrong? This theater makes going to a movie a real pleasure.
Great place to see a movie. Very helpful staff. It will become five stars if they get the recliners.
The best theatre in Marin, probably in the whole Bay Area. Just one screen and the best sound system. It wont be around much longer, some retail company bought the property and will put up headquarters there. But for now, its the place to see the big action films on the biggest screen around.
Best movie theater in Marin. Huge venue, a wide range of seats, and the biggest screen. Heard rumors of it being bought out by some furniture store a few years back, its still around and I hope its here to stay. Love coming here to watch the blockbuster films, and would hate to see it gone. Its a Marin Staple forsure
Favorite old theater!
Screw this place! After coming here for years they tell me I can’t bring in my purse because it’s to big! Nope, it’s a normal sized purse. I tell them they can check it as I’m not sneaking anything in and they tell me they don’t want to have to check all purses. There’s currently less then 15 people in the theatre, talk about lazy. Congrats this place is barley staying open and they just lost a customer. Also this sign should be visible before one buys tickets, now women are going to be forced to leave their purses in their car which will lead to potential crime rates due to car break-ins.
Love this movie theater,Big screen !
As the last large movie screen in the county, this is a gem to hold onto. Unfortunately, the last rumor I heard the owners are considering selling the property for developing into a similar WinCup monstrosity just down the street.Lots of money has been spent to upgrade all the interiors and infrastructure. The seats are comfy, the screen is clear, the sound is great. It handles all the big budget premiers so make sure to buy your tickets early.
An original older movie house.could use a seat up grade..but is still functional.
Last truly large, single screen movie theater in Marin. Seating is somewhat dated, which isnt surprising as demolition plans have been circulating for years. (Armrests fold up, but backs dont recline.)
Fun place food drinks movie its all there no complants
Really nice theater with friendly staff and clean restrooms.
Pretty cool idea if you have never had a drive in movie before. Also get to see two movies for the price of one. Although, I was not impressed with their small shop that provided food and beverages. Overpriced and a very small selection of choices. Might as well bring your own as there are plenty of stores near by.
Best cinema in Marin.
Huge auditorium, great for epic films. Clean, comfortable seats. Concession counter and film/concession cashier, dramatically too small for the size of single auditorium theater.
Large single screen cinema with older style non-stadium seating. Clean restrooms. Polite service.
Best theater in the Bay area, hands down. Great sound and huge screen with big auditorium. Its a classic set up for seeing movies.
If your going to see a movie that is all about the visual special effects, the Century in Cortea Madera is the best in Marin County. It is the last of the big screen movie theatres in Marin. It has the most seats and are elevated above the row in front of you. The seating is also concaved instead of a straight line, so the picture is good, no matter where you sit. If you have sat on the end of a row you know what Im talking about. The only bad things is bathrooms are tiny for such a large seating capacity, as well as the snack area, very tiny and limited as far as variety of snacks. They didnt have caramel popcorn, nor cola flavored Icees, very sad .Lastly if the movie is popular and you need to stand in line, it goes around the building with no relief from the elements. All that being said I still highly recommend this movie theater - GREAT PICTURE & SOUND QUALITY !!
Huge theater - easy parking- a Marin Tradition forever. Good selection of films. Hurry over - rumors abound it will be razed and condos will be built
One of the last great one-screen theaters. The screen is huge, the seats are comfortable. I love this theater.
Love the large theatre atmosphere...just a little bummed the seats doesnt decline.
Intimate one screen theater with lots of seating, and it always plays the latest in 3D and IMAX. My favorite place to catch a flick!
Classy, classic, chill, usually plays the films you want to see large. Good destination spot
Probably the best movie theatre for big productions like Star Wars with a superb sound system
Great one theater w/ very large screen. Great sound system!
One, giant theater room. Rows are long reaching from one side to the other. Id want to sit to the side, even though I prefer the middle, so I wouldnt have to step over 100 ppl
Super large screen comfy seats lots of room and a killer sound system
Still a good large theatre with great leg room good sound system and best of all great popcorn!
Big single screen theatre. Comfortable seating with lots of leg room.
Seats are comfortable. Parking is generally not an issue. Concessions are disappointing.
Best single screen theatre in the Bay Area. If I want to see a movie, I first check to see if it is playing here. It will be a sad day if this place ceased to exist.
With its one giant screen and impressive sound system, this is hands down the best movie theater in Marin to watch mainstream movies. For art house films, check out the Smith Raphael Film Center (AKA, The Raphael).
Always great experience. Large screen and good sound.
Oh, I dont want to see this theater go. My favorite screening here was the Justin Bieber movie just after it opened. Hundreds of girls chanting, You say Justin, I say Bieber! Justin Beiber Justin Bieber. Cant beat that. Unless youre a teen on a date sitting in the back row.
This is a classic theater with great sound and big screen.
Clean and usually easy to get into. Seats not so comfortable especially up front. Not easy to look up.
Good location, friendly staff, comfortable loungers
All the new movies + great food and service.
Largest movie screen in Marin County. Seats are comfortable, but theres room for improvement.
Best big screen ever. Will be sad to see it go!
Best movie sound of any public theater anywhere.
Great old school big screen theatre.
Nice theatre, but popcorn coats more than the movie.
Wonderful large single screen theater with great sound and picture
Great big screen and now the chairs are super comfortable .
Large single screen theater. Not many like this are around any longer
It is the best. Will sure miss it.
Huge theater screen with great sound.
Clean friendly movie theater. Big movie theater.
What a wonderful venue to watch a movie!
This is my favorite movie theater in the Bay Area, have been going to it forever
Nice big screen.
Excellent
Nice venue
Best theatre in Bay Area!
Great theater to see the blockbusters.
One movie, one large screen. Whats not to like.
Fun local cinema.
Best theater in Marin County!
Great
Love it there!!
A little bit expensive here
Great sound!
Great theater, sorry it is closing
Ok
Awesome
Ive been going to this theatre since I was a kid. Its only one house, but its the only house to go to if you want that big experience around here.
Best movie theater in Marin
Great seats
