Had an awesome trip there with the kiddos. The history of naval battles with authentic memorabilia to back it up is 2nd to none. I highly recommend stopping by and visiting this floating museum. You wont be disappointed. Thanks to all the workers and volunteers for making this trip a memorable trip for myself and my family.

This is a great place to go with your family. All the staff that we saw were really friendly and helpful. It has a walk through tour that takes you all the way through the ship and it has air conditioning. We didnt eat at the restaurant because we went in the morning but it isnt expensive and the gift shop is reasonably priced too. They offer a family picture opportunity and there are several places to take your own family pictures.

I can only imagine how much more fun it is when everything is up but due to distancing there are some things down. This place is a awesome memorial and history lesson for all just be careful on the steps. They do have elevator for other areas.

This ship has a lot of history. It was nicked name as Lady lex. The ship was badly damaged in the heroic battle of the Coral Sea against Japan in 1942. There are so many models you can witness. The main deck gives you an all round view. You can get the feel of the ship including where everyone used to work and how they used to communicate with the deck and engine room. It was such a great experience. I highly recommend it.

This is an American quasi-aircraft carrier that participated in World War II. It has made great contributions to the defense of the United States and world peace. It has served twice before being officially retired from active service in the 1990s. After 2000, it was collected by the Texas Museum and became one of the educational bases for patriotism. Although there are still many places of the Lexington that are not open at present, due to the long-term repairs, more expenses are needed for repairs. I hope that through your donations, we will continue to build it into a ship that will never sink to the end of the century. Aircraft carrier.

I am 10 years old and visiting the blue ghost ship has been a Lovely experience. We did the hard hat tour with Joe. Ship at the lower levels need repair but overall it was in good shape.

Its easy to channel the past through the narrow corridors and imagining the individuals on board trying to use the limited sleeping space. Picturing a meeting near the Captains quarters is easily done, as is a lunchtime gathering of people thanks to mannequins and props. The theatrical aspect of the self-guided tour had some production value with faces projected onto the faceless props with video playing nearby. We used the IMAX-like theater as our finale for a grand show with very high production value (great sound and CGI used to dissect a battle ship). The history in the movie was especially fascinating.Id been warned of a hot, miserable experience, but theyd had air conditioning throughout the ship.

This exceeded my expectations. We took our 7 year old and 4 year old twins to this and we were easily able to spend about 3 hours roaming around. Wonderful place, best thing we’ve seen in Corpus Christy and surroundings. I’m not a fan of army, but I love planes and the sea. And this place has both! Many historical documents, medals, soldiers uniforms, Airplanes!! Gosh, the airplanes are amazing. The staff is beyond professionalism, thank you very much. Also, don’t forget to put your sunscreen cause we’re in Texas, and best part of this place is outside on the very top. The gift shop is also very good. Great view of ship as you walk aboard up a long ramp. Many planes to see on the flight deck. Memorial exhibit to the USS Arizona lost at Pearl Harbor included. Getting to walk throughout the ship helped bring to life many stories of our grandparents. Would highly recommend. We spent about 2 hours with 2 small kids but we definitely could have stayed longer as there is a gift shop and a little place to eat. Rest areas with a view and many photo spots. Bathrooms, elevators, changing tables available. Many steep stairs to view the interiors but very interesting. Beach right next to entrance as well which would be cool to spend the day as well.

Our family (wife, 3 boys - ages 10, 9 & 7) really enjoyed it! The history about the ship and about other maritime historic events was very educational and kept our family engaged. We did the self-guided tour and the only thing we didnt do was the flight simulator because it was out of order. The movie was very well-done and it would have been cool to have the 3-D glasses, but we understand due to the pandemic. Theres a lot to see, if you really take your time on the self-tour with kids, be ready to spend 3-4 hours. There are a lot of steep stairs going to the various decks and theres also an elevator to access the flight deck, but Im unsure if there were more throughout the rest of the tours. Comfortable shoes suitable for stair climbing is highly recommended. The food was pricey but its typical for an attraction like this.

A must see when in the Corpus Christi area! Admission is $12-18 per person and there is free parking three blocks away under the freeway. Go early...other lots were $5/day nearby but filled quickly. There was a free cart shuttle to ferry those needing assistance up to the ship. It’s a family friendly outing but, being a ship, there are many steep steps to the various decks and attractions. There is an elevator to the flight deck for strollers and those needing assistance. The views from the ship of the bay and city are beautiful and we saw many jellyfish floating below. There was a food area with dining space on the main deck as well as a gift shop. The teenagers in our group admitted that they weren’t sure they were going to like the outing, but really enjoyed it. You could easily combine this outing with a visit to the Texas State Aquarium next door in one day. There are several hotels and restaurants close by and beach areas for swimming. Highly recommend.

I visited with my service dog and my boyfriend! I thought the museum all together was very unique and interesting! So for other service dog handlers i hope you find my review! There are alot of narrow tight stairs and there are some that are tall. Me and my dog tested the stairs first by having her go down and up on her own. She did fine, however on some longer stairs going UP she got a-little scared but ended up going up just fine. My dog is a 75lbs Pyrenees so size isnt the issue but confidence in your dog and if they’re comfortable doing new things ~ we practice agility and confidence building whenever possible.I would not recommend if you have mobility issues or have a disability that makes your heart rate high, this is a work out going up and down stairs, below the ship its not disability accessible however going up to the flight deck was because the elevator was working or it would just be many more stairs.I enjoyed my time and so did my boyfriend as a veteran marine it was interesting seeing him feel at home on a vessel that i could get lost for hours on.

This place is great. It houses a rich history and it is fascinating to walk in the shoes of the previous captains and crew. Its reasonably priced too- we paid less than $40 for two adults. My husband is an aircraft mechanic and he loved the place. My only concern is the renovations going on. The workers were grinding away the old paint and renovating parts of the planes outside and THEY had masks on, but the paint particles were still being blown into peoples faces. There was no barrier or anything. As my husband said, you cant tell what type of paint it is. It could be hazardous, and any paint in your lungs is never a good thing.
